Chapter 4: In the Span of Twelve Hours

Yeah, You can skip the whole thing before the pretty lines, it's me making a fool of myself… Please don't report me if I wrote something stupid that effects my life, not yours…

First, before I start anything… This story ACTUALLY has morals and is based on the works of destiny and how it can effect those of different countries and time periods (big hint). And that everyone can change or be changed for better or worse , yes, even Violent Cynical Assholes! It also does account for the fact that true love can bring out the best in all of us. In case you haven't noticed, Haruna is reflected on me only in personality(I hadn't expected it to -_-;)… I dropped WAY too many hints, but that's just a train of thought… Sorry, the Humor part of this story didn't come yet, it will, I promise. Warning: No, not about lemons, but there is a bath scene, but it was simply just Sesshoumaru and Haruna hurling insults and comments at each other and only Haruna is taking a bath, don't get your hopes up or prepare to report me, lol. Yes, I know there are people out there who do that, I don't support you, but I promise I will not put lemons in… (unless I get enough support *reporters prepare to click button* JUST KIDDING!!!) If anything offends you, please let me know, I'll take it off right away (Golly gee, I hope saying rape won't get me reported -_-;) Geez, I'm only 13, okay? Shippou first ran over and asked for candy, only a second after the words came out of his mouth, a swarm of demons barged in and everything was a blur, thankfully, I never took off my backpack… All I could remember was riding on a two-headed dragon with a toad thing… I was a bit of a realist and I could take the fact that Inu-Yasha was real, but THIS?!

In a matter of moments we arrived at a huge looming palace, it had a sinister look about it, or maybe it was just the full moon. What ever it was gave me Goosebumps and made me cower. The dragon landed rather roughly, sending me flying across the floor, ramming headlong into a wall next to the feet of somebody that I hadn't noticed was there.

The somebody was a he, err… at least I THINK it's a he… What with the long silver hair and eye shadow and markings… But regardless, he WAS pretty good looking, even hot if he put on the right clothes…

"Jaken, you fool, this isn't the girl I asked for." he said calmly, not even looking at me, the toad thing cowered at his feet, yup definitely a he.

"I…I…I'm s..s..sorry, me-lord! It will not happen again!" he promised, making a great show of bowing.

I wondered what was going on, but knew better than to move, let alone get up.

"Very well, what's done is done, I would suspect my idiot half-brother would be guarding his wench now that we've taken this girl. You are to go along with the procedure as planned, despite the OBVIOUS mistake. I will let you off this time, for the time being, we might as well make use of what we have… At least she doesn'tt dress like a whore unlike Inu-Yasha's wench." he sighed, turning back to the palace and disappearing through the doorway.

`Make use??? They're not gonna rape me, I hope…' I thought nervously, but being killed isn't on my to do list either…

I got up and followed the toad inside, having half the mind to kick the thing and run the other way at top speed. But how? I'll never make it down that mountain alive, and even if I did, it would anger the hot emotionless dude and hunt me down.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"To see Rin, that idiot child, I don't know why the great lord even puts up with her!" he replied, disgusted.

I half expected to see a little dog demon, but was met by a little human girl. The lord guy was already there sitting on a couch, explaining about the new guest, me, near a warm fireplace. If he could keep a little girl, he couldn't be all bad, could he? The little girl spotted me and ran over, practically launching herself at me.

"Rin is SO happy to see you!!!" she exclaimed, I dropped my backpack on the floor.

"I'm happy to see you too!" I replied, trying to sound as enthusiastic.

"Rin wonders what your name is, pretty lady?" she asked, I blushed, nobody really ever complemented me on my looks before.

"My name is Haruna, but you can call me whatever you want." I replied.

"Okay, whatever you want!" she replied.

"No, I mean whatever you want to call me." I corrected, laughing at her loss of grammar.

"I will call you Haruna for now! Will Sesshoumaru-sama be keeping Haruna for long, has he adopted Rin this playmate or has he taken a playmate for himself?" she asked innocently turning to Sesshoumaru.

I laughed upon seeing Sesshoumaru's eyes widen.

"She is, indeed, for you Rin and yes, she will be here as long as you desire." he replied, upon regaining his composure.

"Thank you so very much, Sesshoumaru-sama, Rin will be very happy! Will Haruna be happy too?" she asked.

"Truthfully…" I started, but I saw Sesshoumaru-sama, as the girl calls him, glare at me, "Yes, I will…" I lied, I was good at lying and could do it at the drop of a dime from practice on my parents, but I was hesitant because it would benefit me if the child convinced Sesshoumaru to let me go. I decided, instead, to do as told and more and suck up as much as possible to leave this damn place ASAP.

"You're not as dumb as you let on, you better watch your step, I'll be watching you!" he hissed in my ear.

"Of course Lord Sesshoumaru!" I chirped happily, leaving him dumbstruck.

"How old are you?" he asked, curious.

"I am sixteen years old…" I replied, not knowing his intentions.

"You act though you were six." he commented bluntly.

"Well excuse me.." I muttered under her breath. He may be unbelievably attractive but he sure is an ass!

"What was that?" Sesshoumaru asked in his condescending tone.

"Nothing…" I replied sweetly.

As Rin continued her happy mindless chatter, no words are exchanged between Sesshoumaru and I. I was is lost in my thoughts of how it's possible for a guy to be so good looking and also have the biggest ego.

`Figures...all the hot ones are asses… Bad Haruna! Shouldn't be thinking about someone who is holding me captive against my own will…' I thought, blushing slightly.

It got past Rin, but Sesshoumaru saw me blushing and knew I was thinking about him. He smirked at his success in making another woman fall at his feet, he knew he was good looking and many women had fallen at his feet to marry him or even just look at him, so he tended to have a big ego.

"Rin, it's very nice that you've had an interesting day, but it is very late and you need your strength to entertain our new guest. I've allowed you to stay long enough to meet her and now you must catch up on the sleep you missed." he stated firmly, but gently.

"Okay, Sesshoumaru-sama!" she chirped and was led away by Sesshoumaru, he motioned for me to follow.

We walked down a series of hallways and arrived at a huge bedroom, inside are many plants and a collection of dried flowers. It tugged at my heartstrings to see how lonely the little girl must be living on a mountain with only demons to keep her company and realized that she had no dolls or toys to play with and no one to keep her company.

`What is she doing with a pack of demons, and why does Sesshoumaru even keep her around?' I wondered.

"Hold on, Sesshoumaru-sama, could you please escort me back to the room we were in before? I have something I would like to give Rin." I requested, Rin looked excited and Sesshoumaru sighed in annoyance, but led me back anyways and then to Rin's room again.

I went to her and opened up the bag. I saw her eyes light up when I took out the teddy bear I had brought to keep me company.

"It is a bear, Rin loves animals!" she exclaimed.

"This bear is for you, Rin, all the children from my era have it…" I said, handing her the toy.

She squealed in delight and Sesshoumaru even smiled a very rare smile, I took that as a sign of approval.

I sighed and stood up, "Where will I be staying?" I asked.

"I must admit, I haven't thought of that, we demons do not need rest as humans do, but I am not about to allow you to intrude into my sleeping quarters. I suppose that room we were in before would do, as long as you are careful not to break anything." he replied.

"Thank you, Lord Sesshoumaru." I said, "Umm… I don't know how to get back…" I admitted.

He motioned for me to come and rolled his eyes in annoyance.

`Great, now he probably thinks I'm stupid or something…' I thought.

When we got there, I thanked him again and went to my backpack to retrieve my pajamas, to my surprise, Sesshoumaru still hadn't left.

"Aren't we forgetting something, or do you never wash?" he asked.

"Umm… Right, where is---" I started, he pointed outside.

"Sorry, but I need help getting over there." I asked, he nodded and took me outside, to my surprise, a dust cloud formed at our feet and took us to the other side of the mountain where there was a hot spring.

"Thanks for the ride" I replied and blushes when I realized the double entendre I just said.

He chuckled and watched me unpack the soaps and a towel, before I took off my clothes I still felt his eyes on me and turned around.

"May I ask why you are still here?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I will do as I wish, I must prevent you from leaving and you do need a way to get back into the palace." he stated bluntly, it dawned on me that I did need a way to get back up there.

"Would you mind turning around then?" I asked.

"Then where would I look but this wall? And what if you took that opportunity to run away?" he replied innocently, I grumbled.

"I wouldn't be able to run, you know that, I am not a demon and where would I go then?' I reasoned.

"Ah, but what if I find this wall so intriguing that it caught all my attention and prevented me from knowing you had run off? Then I would be forced to kill you." he countered in a bored voice, it dawned on me that he was simply toying with me and that either way, he would still watch me.

"You hentai!" I grumbled.

"I take time to take you all the way here and I get accused for worrying about your well being? You should be ashamed!" he stated, mock offended.

`So the ass has a sense of humor, great…' I thought dryly.

I grumbled and proceeded with my bath, though I rarely resurfaced and only kept my head above water when unavoidable, to my horror, he had moved the bottles of soaps right next to him with the towel and pajamas.

"I'll get him for this…" I mutter under my breath.

"Get me for what?" he asked in he usual monotone.

`He's a DOG demon, get a grip on yourself!' I thought.

"Nothing, would you mind passing me the bottles?" I asked, he smirked and I instantly regretted it.

He passed them to me alright, but not before holding them just out of my reach, causing me to have to stand up on the hot spring floor and reach to get it, all three of them.

I grumbled and he looked mildly amused at my reaction.

"Aren't you going to ask me what I think?" he asked, bored.

"About what?" I asked.

"Well, while you were reaching for the soap, I had a pretty good view of what you were trying to hide. And I must say, most women would try to expose as much of themselves as possible to me if they had a body like yours." he commented, as if he was simply stating the color of the sky rather than my body, I felt huge amounts of blood rush to my face, he chuckled at my reaction.

"I am not most women, and anyways, why would I even show my body to anyone, and of all people, you?" I replied coolly after finding my voice.

I stifled back a giggle when he looked as if he had been slapped in the face with a wet fish.

I took that time to wipe off and put on my cotton blue pajamas with dogs on them. I had picked out the long-sleeved one with matching pant-like pajama bottoms in case of cold temperatures and perverts (not that anyone would WANT to see me, but I was proven wrong just then…).

"May we go back now?" I asked, he nodded and I walked over, the dust cloud took us back once again.

I was escorted back to my new room where I was to remain until sunrise. Sesshoumaru ordered for some blankets to be brought.

"Thanks again, sorry that it didn't work out." I apologized.

Sesshoumaru gave a nod and left the room.

As I drifted to sleep, it struck me that I actually had FUN with Sesshoumaru (not that way, you pervs!)

Normal POV: Meanwhile…

"Well, Inu-Yasha, you finally got it, Haruna's been kidnapped by Sesshoumaru." Kagome said, passing around juice boxes.

"Grr… I sure ain't gonna stand by while Sesshoumaru has his way!" he growled.

"Is this not what you wanted?" Miroku asked.

"What? Wait here sucking on sweet fruit flavored water while Sesshoumaru has his way with Kagome's new buddy!?" he exclaimed, Kagome choked on her juice box.

"Will…will he really do that? Go THAT low just to get back at you?" she gasped between coughs.

"Well, he'd probably just do it for his own sick twisted self…" Inu-Yasha sighed.

"We HAVE to get there, ASAP!!!" Kagome said.

"As soon as we get some sleep, it may as well just be a trap, we don't even know what he wants and why he took Haruna instead of you." Sango reasoned.

"Right, we don't want to do anything irrational, and by the way, you especially seem to like juice!" Kagome pointed out.

Everyone agreed and each drifted off to sleep.

Sesshoumaru's POV: Meanwhile…

I took a walk in the forest surrounding the palace, contemplating the situation.

`That girl, Haruna, she says she's sixteen, looks fourteen and acts as though she's twelve, at least Rin is taking to her…" I thought.

Oh well, I might as well see things for the best, at least if not for my sake, let it be for Rin's. She dresses fair enough, her clothing isn't half as skimpy or short as the wench's and she was even kind enough to give Rin her toy. She would be able to teach her many things and set a good example for her, and since she doesn't belong to my idiot brother, he might not even care for her return… Though the whore might wish her friend well. If I could just convince her that the girl is happy and does not wish to leave, I might just be able to give Rin the older sister she needs. This might just work out after all. I nodded, knowing everything might work out. Even if he wants the girl back, he would have to give the Tetseiga to me, so I win either way; Rin's happiness or ultimate power.

For some reason my thoughts keep straying to the bath I took Haruna to, she wanted to hide from me, it shows she has the decency to recognize shame and actually didn't feel honored at my complement, not that I didn't mean it… I mean, I have seen many women beg for my consent and she was one of he better looking ones, even for a demon. I shook my head to clear that thought, I cannot complement humans, they are inferior beings… But she was the only one to brush me off like that. Yes Haruna, you will certainly pay…

Hey, yeah, he sounds kind of OOC, but he was looking out for the best interest of Rin (well, except for the bath part…). Anyways, the humor came on a little weak, but you can see that Sesshoumaru is plainly NOT GAY!!! As some people was led to believe *growls*. So, yeah, I did manage to end it with a semi-cliffy, just to keep ya at the edge of your seats… I feel sincerely sorry to Jessica-san, I've made her mad with my condescending and cynical comments (Michelle Humor offends too ^_^; hug and make up???). Okay, anyways, gotta go work on the next chapter!!! Yeah, Inu-Yasha believed Sesshoumaru was a bad person, but he's got a real soft spot for Rin, and is not bad enough to do such a thing like rape a little girl… R&R I know Haruna sounds selfish right now but she WAS sort of spoiled, don't worry, she was actually acting the way she felt later on in the chapter, and actually did joke around with him, except for the doing as Sesshoumaru says thing.
