Chapter 6: Battle With Naraku: Part 1

I slept at five a.m. trying to finish the whole damn thing, wrote eleven pages last night *yawn* being obsessed about it is GREAT!!! Anyways, I am going to post it on www.fanfiction.net soon and I'm only going to put in a few more chapters until I start on the sequel, which should be coming out in the first few chapters about the same time I'm posting this one… When I finish all three, I'm going to take them all down and combine them so you don't have to wait (yay!) but I don't think the ff.net people would let me (boo!). But getting things fast would mean waiting awhile, I personally hate waiting and have a short attention span, same goes for my patience, which is why I'm boring you with this stuff (lol!!!). Err, if you don't like battles, you can skip ahead to the next chapter, this is only a bunch of people calling out names and trying to kill each other. The battle sucks, I'm better doing Humor and romance, if you don't mind.

Normal POV Then…

Inu-Yasha was the first to strike, Kagome knew that though the Naraku before them carried jewel shards, they weren't nearly enough as he should have and warned them that it might just be a decoy. Therefore everyone set off to battle the other people, which were real, Kohaku was the first to attack, but Inu-Yasha hung him on a tree branch, making him immobile. Sango nodded in appreciation, they wouldn't have to deal with it now. Naraku was surprised to find that Sesshoumaru was aiding the gang but knew he only wanted to protect his land. Wanting to be rid of him since he was probably the most powerful, he allowed himself to be killed, therefore causing the rest to retreat. Thankfully, Kagome knew enough to retrieve the ten jewel shards. She gave them to Inu-Yasha who put it in the small jar.

"Inu-Yasha." Sesshoumaru said.

"I don't have time---!" Inu-Yasha started.

"Inu-Yasha, Naraku left because he would think that I would not bother to go after him, I have sensed he had left the Western lands on purpose to be rid of me. He most likely would have laid a trap out for you." he replied.

"What do we do then, of great demon lord?" Inu-Yasha asked sarcastically.

"Will bring Haruna and Rin, no doubt he will try to attack them when he found out I want to be able to protect them, even if it might put them in danger. I despise Naraku almost as much as I despise you, but for Haruna's sake I can't hurt you so I will take him out." Sesshoumaru replied, the gang was starting to get used to being surprised.

"I will go get her, you can proceed ahead, I give my word that I will come." he added, they climbed onto Kilala and rushed off at top speed.

He turned around and retrieved Haruna, Rin and Ah and Un to keep the safe, or at least stall until he could reach them.

He hurried along Ah and Un at top speed, reaching the gang in seconds.

"Wow, that was fast!" Kagome commented.

"Yeah, it was." Haruna replied.

Momentarily, a huge amount of jewel shards could me sensed.

Naraku (Yes, the actual guy) appeared along with everybody else, Kohaku, again, was first, but Inu-Yasha hung him in a tree again. Kikyo aimed at Inu-Yasha with her arrow, which missed be an inch. Naraku, not knowing of Sesshoumaru's presence, attacked Inu-Yasha headlong, only to be stroked down by Sesshoumaru again. Kikyo then aimed at Sesshoumaru, missing this time by meters, Kagura brew up a storm, preventing Inu-Yasha from using the wind scar, which Sesshoumaru countered with another storm, making the wind scar obvious. Inu-Yasha defeated Kagura while she was still dazed about the counter storm. Kagome hit Naraku, but missed too. Another arrow, however, didn't miss and shot Kagome through the stomach.

Haruna, upon seeing her friend down, tried to rush over to help, Naraku saw the girl and wondered who she was with but took the opportunity to blast her anyways. Haruna had stopped running before the blast hit her, causing it to miss. Kagome was busy trying to defeat Naraku by shooting and missing horribly due to her wound. Haruna fell back in surprise when the blast had almost hit her and giggled nervously, Naraku had turned his attention on Haruna, who was in hysterics. Sesshoumaru then, turned his attention on Haruna too, making a mistake by turning his back to Kikyo. Kikyo hit him full force with the arrow, causing him to fall forward unconscious. Haruna recognized the sound and ran over to the fallen Youkai. Naraku sneered as her turned his attention to the little girl, Inu-Yasha was now at Kikyo's side, trying to set things straight.

"Sesshoumaru-sama, I can't have you dieing now!" Haruna whispered into his ear.

Sesshoumaru wasn't responding.

"It's just an arrow!" Haruna stated, starting to cry again `I'm such a crybaby…'she thought.

She turned to Kikyo, growling, "I will not have it! Sesshoumaru didn't do anything to you, why did you shoot him!?"

"He is a demon, demons deserve to die, they are not fit to live." she simply stated.

"But he has adopted a HUMAN child, she's only eight what will the girl do?!" Haruna asked.

"Any human could take care of her better than that Youkai ever could." she replied.

"But she loves him, and so do I…" she said, suddenly realizing that she DID, in only a matter of 24 hours too.

As if he had heard her, Sesshoumaru opened his eyes.

"Haruna…Can you… can you do something for me…?" he whispered, wincing in pain.

"Anything." Haruna replied, tears falling freely from her face.
