Chapter 6: (The Most Dangerous Enemy)

 

The sun had barely reach midday before I changed back. Honestly I was happy. I had what I thought was forever gone from my life. Family. Everyone was shocked at how the brothers were behaving. They were being civil to one another. I was so happy; but as everything in my life the second I become happy something erases my silver lining; Today's ass, Naraku.

He came into the clearing; With half of the jewel. Angry, that he had most of the jewel, I started flexing my newly, re-clawed hand. Fist, not, fist, not, fist. Until he said something; “Hello sweet one did you miss me?” With that, I put my fist though his gut. “Not a chance in hell, did I or would I ever miss you. Ok maybe a little; just to kill you.”

Kagome all of sudden screamed at the top of her lungs, “INUYASHA!!!” She started to cry and I felt my blood run cold. I retracted my fist, turned around and saw my brother, dead with a tentacle through his heart. I sprinted to his side tried to find even the tiniest pulse so I could revive him. There was none. I stood with only half my heart. I shall avenge my brother. At least I still hav—“Lord Sesshomaru, NO!!!!!” Again I turned and saw the last reason I had to live fall to the ground. I rushed to his side, when I got there I heard his last request, “Everything goes to Rin, please watch over h-“ Then the TaiYoukai was gone. This time I stood an empty void. “Naraku, you just dug your mother fucking grave.” I charged at him at top speed; drawing two swords Feuer and a reverse blade. As soon as Feuer was free of its sheathe, it went into an instant seethe. Flames replaced the blade, dancing higher into the midday sun fueled by my fury. Magma dripped down from the hilt, ran down my leg, and hardened into the armor of living rock that now encased my body. Using the reverse blade as a shield, I attacked. Though every exchange, a little more of me died. Finally, it came to the point where I was alive but still dead. There are three dangerous opponents in life; a wounded animal, a female protecting young, and a living thing with nothing to lose. Unfortunately for Naraku, I was all three.

First I sliced off an arm and threw it behind me. I was an animal controlled by nothing except my hatred of the man before. I ripped limb and tentacle alike. Slowly yet surely protecting those behind me, and killing the greatest evil I've seen since Sounga. Soon there was nothing left of the body that had once been Naraku. All that was left was to kill his human heart. I removed the jewel, took my quarter out of my pocket and fused them together. Three quarters of the jewel rested in my palm. I walked over to Kagome, who was crying over my brother's body. “Kagome, here you go.” I handed he the jewel. “There still are three pieces missing, and Naraku's heart to destroy. Actually it's on its way here. Miroku suck up Naraku's former body into your wind tunnel.” My voice is far colder the Sesshomaru's ever was. I pulled my brothers' bodies next to the each other. Jaken and Rin were hysterical. I pulled out Sesshomaru's sword, with a wave I vanquished all of the netherworld's imps surrounding my brothers' bodies. Nothing happened. Returning his sword I sat down and thought.

 

Can I bring them back? Well I did make it there the first time. Maybe I can again? Well it's worth a shot. I searched my mind, for the door I used to escape. But instead I found a line. Of coarse the boundary between life and death is in our minds. I crossed the line. It was there I saw them. My brothers. Brothers!!! I found you. You have to come back. Please, you must. Inuyasha, Kagome needs you she'll die without you. Sesshomaru, Rin needs like the ground needs rain. She'll kill herself to be with you. And I need you I'm dead without you. Sesshomaru spoke first. I don't know the way back sister I'll came back for you. And the child I lived to protect. Inuyasha finally found his voice. I want to go back to Kagome but I'm honor-bound to be with Kikyo. Any ways Kagome deserves much better than a worthless Hanyou. I was pissed at how he could think so little of himself. I walked over to him and slapped him. You are not worthless. You are the reason Naraku's dead. Follow your heart and tell your head to shut the fuck up. You love Kagome!!! Admit it! You can't live or die without her!! You can not die without the one made for you now. Which do you chose my brother, Kagome or Kikyo, Love or Obligation, Life or Death? He thought for a moment. A very long moment; one that made 1,000 years, seem like seconds. The seconds inched by. I grew tired of waiting. Both of you follow me. I led them to the line. This is the border of life and death. I chose life. I showed you the way now it's up to you. With that I turned my heel and walked over the line.

I opened my eyes just in time to witness Kagome kill Naraku's heart. As the infant was destroyed, I saw a young boy kept alive by a single shard. “Boy, come here.” As the boy approached, I saw the pain in his soul. “Boy I'll give you a gift, a gift of forgiveness for all you've done and true life.”

 

“And what do you want in exchange?”

 

“All I want is for you to love yourself and your sister and live life to the atmost fullest; Kohako. So do we have a deal?”

 

“Yes, but, I can't love myself I've done so much evil I can never forgive myself.”

 

“Your sister has already forgiven you. And it wasn't your fault you were living a false life and were being controlled like a puppet on strings there's nothing you could have done. Forgive yourself, everyone else has.”

 

“Ok, I'll try.”

 

“Ok then. Give me your hand.” As I took his hand and healed him. Since his soul was in his body, I gave him real life. “Here's an idea you could heal people. That's a way you can redeem yourself in your own eyes.”

 

“I think I will thank you for the idea.” Well I didn't know it but Sango had started walking over to where we were. I soon found out because she started screaming at me as I removed the shard in his back.

 

“HOW COULD YOU?!?!? HE NEVER DID ANYTHING TO YO—“ She went quiet when he walked over to her and hugged her.

 

“I thought you would be happy to have your brother returned to true life.” She ran and hugged me until I couldn't breathe.

 

“Thank you so much. How can I ever repay you?”

 

“Your welcome, and you can repay me by letting me go so I can breathe.” Sango left me go and I walked over to my brothers' bodies.

 

“Hi Kagome have they came back yet?”

 

“Crystal, they died they're never coming back.”

 

“Kagome, I went into death found my brothers, walked them to the line of life and death myself. It's their choice weather or not to come back. But you can call Inuyasha. Tell him the truth about your feelings and maybe he'll come back faster.”

Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, I'm glad I've had this talk with you. Inuyasha looked back at his father. Then past him to his mother. I love you mom, I miss you all the time. With a final hug, Inuyasha turned to face the line scared out of his wits. Until, he heard Kagome's voice; Please Inuyasha, come back I can't live without. Damn it, come back I won't use the beads ever again. Please, come back to me, if only for a little while. Until, you go with Kikyo. Even though I don't want you to ever leave my side again, please come back; I LOVE YOU too much to lose you to death. When she said love his breathe caught. She loves me? I have to know I'm coming home, and into your arms Kagome. I LOVE YOU TOO. Sesshomaru watched as Inuyasha ran across the border. With a small smile he too crossed it. Good luck and live long lives my sons. Thank you Crystal for allowing me time with my boys.

When Inuyasha, finally opened his eyes, Kagome was laying half on, half off him, exploiting her never-ending love for him. He smiled, “Kagome, I love you too; I will stay with you forever or as long as you'll have me. I even beat death to be with you.” Then he fell asleep. Kagome walked over to me and hugged me crushing my lungs like Sango. I swear those women are going to the death of me. “Kagome I can't breathe.”

 

“Sorry. Thank you for returning him to me.”

 

“No problem.” Sesshomaru chose this moment to wake up. Of coarse I was right there in five point two; hugging my brother within an inch of his life. But also this young child came running yelling Lord Sesshomaru, Lord Sesshomaru. All he did was push me off of him and hold her tightly. “Rin, it's ok I'm back. I'm not leaving.” It seems that death made him more warm-hearted. Rin was crying uncontrollably. Jaken was crying behind the tree because he was so happy that his Lord was among the living once.

That night was the night of the new moon. When Inuyasha changed I smiled. “So brother you don't like being human?”

 

“Of coarse not humans are weak.”

 

“Not true you can be very powerful in this state too.”

 

“No I can't. Humans are weak. Demons are strong.”

 

“Well what about Sango; she's human and she kills demons all the time. Or Miroku, he's also human and kills demons.”

 

“That's different. Sango has been raised from the cradle to kill demons. And Miroku has spiritual powers to purify them.”

 

“Be that as it may, what about me when I was human I took down Fluffy.”

 

“That's because he doesn't want to kill you.”

 

“Whatever. I'm right, and I'll prove it.” Of coarse I changed into my human state. “You see, hanyous can change between four forms at will you just have to learn how.” I then changed into my full demon form. When I'm in it, my hair goes from a lush red into a blood red. My blue-gold eyes turned almost completely green. My fangs can pierce steel. And my claws are the most deadliest things I own. My red tail grows and moves to my shoulder, similar to Sesshomaru's. And my strength radiates off my body. “You see Inuyasha, I have learned to control all my forms, and while I could live in any of them, I chose to remain in the form I was born in. I could teach you how to do this. But first you have to make your human strong. Because you don't care for it, it is weak, hence making you weaker than you should be. Hanyous are the strongest creatures. But no one knows that unless the see it for them self. To have true power you must embrace your human and demon self or you will never know power. I will teach you but you must learn to trust yourself.”

 

“Would you really teach me?”

 

“Yes, but you must do as I say exactly as I say.”

 

“When do we start?”

 

Changing back into me human form, “Right now.”

 

Quickly I punch him in the stomach. “Ow, what was that for?”

 

“Shut up no talking, follow your instinct. Block my advances, and try to land a punch or two on my body.” I continued my advances, landing blow after blow. Then finally he got it I went to punch him in the face and he block my fist and landed a punch in my gut. “That's enough for tonight Inuyasha you did fantastic. It took me three human days to get that far and you landed a punch. Very well indeed.”

 

“Ok. I'm so tired of coarse you are. We just spared for six hours. Got to sleep you deserve some.”

 

“Ok. Goodnight everyone.”

 

“Goodnight Inuyasha.”

 

Well it was until little miss I'm-dead-but-I'm-not decided to show up and ruin it all. “Inuyasha I have come for you.”

 

“Kikyo? What do you want?”

 

“To take you to hell of coarse.”

 

“No way in HELL I'm going to let you.”

 

“How is this? Your human right now and you can't defend yourself.”

 

“Kikyo I'm sorry you died, but it wasn't my fault. You have been gone a real long time. I avenged your death I can not do anymore than what I've done.”

 

“Is it that copy of me? I should have known. When will you see how weak she is?”

 

I heard all this, and so did Kagome. Inuyasha I'm in your mind right now. Kagome can hear every word your saying. So make it count and remember Kagome is Midoriko's reincarnation, not Kikyo's. She is far more powerful than Kikyo. And remember who you gave your heart to. Sister? Where is Kagome? She's behind that big oak so you know; also she's starting to cry. Thank you for the help.

 

“Kikyo? Kagome is not a copy. She is more vibrant than anyone I've ever met. She took my heart and isn't giving it back. Not like I want her to. I love her more than there are stars in the sky. She's the only one who doesn't want me to change and who loves me unconditionally, she doesn't want me to change ever. Her love brought me back from death. I died for no reason and she brought me back. She is not weak. She is more powerful than you can ever wish to be. These last three years I kept picking fights because all I thought was that I was unworthy of her love. And if Kagome will have me I will make her my mate. I'll protect and care for her for five eternities and three days. If she'll have me. And there's nothing you can do or say to change my mind. If I die I will find a way back to her. She is made for me, and I cannot live or die without the one made for me. Kikyo you taught me love. Kagome showed me true love.”

 

“You poor fool she will never have you.”

 

“Be that as I may, I'll try. Kagome I know your behind the big oak now please answer my questions will you be my mate for five eternities and three days?”

 

Running out of the woods and into the clearing she jumped on Inuyasha, kissed him briefly, and said, “And much longer.” Inuyasha's smile was blinding. But Kikyo was pissed. Dark energy covered her clay body. “Inuyasha, if I cannot have you; no one will.”

Sending that energy that had accumulated she sent a death beam more or less to the young couple. I intervened at this time. I used my body as a mirror and reflected it back from whence it came. In the process killing my self. “Brother live a long life and live it will.”
