"My, how the world has changed..."Sessumaru thought to himself as he wondered across his vast lands. He would be returning to the great capital the next day. Humans. He could smell them all around him. Now that humans and Youkai lived side by side in a more or less peaceful manner.

Though Youkai still ruled the world, they had reluctantly come to an agreement with the humans. Filthy as they were, the also turned out to be extremely useful. They had managed to develop the most amazing technology. They had made travelling to the moon possible (much to Sessoumaru's surprise of course). Once he and the other great Youkai had realised how powerful humans were beginning to get, they had decided to meet with the human leaders. The talks lasted many years. New (human) leaders came and went. Then finally they had reached an agreement, which suited the Youkai, but left the humans believing that they were in charge of the world. Sessoumaru smirked at the memory. `Only a human could be foolish enough to think that the Youkai would ever surrender the power they held over humans to them!' "Fools! We have merely adapted to the change in times…" "My Lord…" his thoughts were rudely interrupted, by a servant. "It is time." With that the servant scurried off, fearful of angering his Lord. Sessoumaru sighed and gave his land one last glance. It would be a long time before he would return here. Back to the city. Here he would have to tolerate the presence of humans all around him. Then again, the agreement the leaders had reached did actually allow for Youkai to kill humans if they were provoked (AN how convenient hehehehe). His eyes sparkled at the thought as he headed off to the Great City.

Sessoumaru was trying hard not to cringe. He had spent the entire day in a meeting with the (human) major of the city. He stank even worse than most humans did. It was nauseating! Once the mayor had left Sessoumaru leaned back into his chair and relaxed. No sooner had he done this than there was a knock on his office door. The door opened and a man stuck his head through the door. It was Damien, the prince of the Tiger Youkai. "Ah. My Lord Sessoumaru. It is good to see you! I take it you will be joining myself and the others tonight?" Rather than frowning and kicking the tiger prince out, Sessoumaru reinforced his stoic mask. The last thing he wanted to do was insult the prince and start another conflict amongst Youkai. So, instead, he nodded and got up to join the prince.

They joined the rest of the group consisting of Kouga- prince of wolves, Satyr- leader of the bears and Veljanov- a dog Lord and one of Sessoumaru's advisors.

Sessoumaru was deep in thought `If only something had come up. I would even prefer doing paperwork. Every time those four gather they always go to wherever there are large numbers of human females. So undignified! If it weren't for the fact that I wish to keep the peace I would never associate myself with such fools…'

As Sessoumaru had suspected, the group entered a human drinking parlour (also known as a pub). It reeked even more than the rest of the city did outdoors. "Man! Look at the women in here!" the comment brought Sessoumaru's thoughts back to the group.' Who else but Kouga would say something like that!' Sessoumaru snorted. `I have been in this world for more than 5 centuries, yet I have never met a greater idiot than him'

And so the evening continued. Sessoumaru sat in a corner rolling his eyes, sulking and occasionally nodding to avoid offending the others. The other four Youkai on the other hand were thoroughly enjoying themselves laughing, talking and trying to pick up (overly keen) human women (AN in this story Youkai have a certain reputation about being really good in bed. Hence why the female attention).

Just as he was about to make his excuses looked up and saw HER:

She had stormed in and brushed past him, thus catching his attention. He had thought nothing of it until she turned around and her eyes captured him. She had emerald coloured eyes that sparkled like diamonds in the sun. He could have drowned in them. And her lips… they were red and so full. Just by looking at them he could almost taste them. Her raven hair fell down to her knees in soft, fragile, curls. She was wearing a black and white pinstripe skirt that reached half way down her calves with a matching jacket, which was done up till just over her full breasts. She was tall, slender and wore black high heels with dainty little straps around her ankles. Her fire red nails looked more like claws, but at the same time they were beautifully soft and rounded. She was clutching a black leather briefcase in the left hand and a small black velvet purse in the other.

Though his usual stoic expression remained, she intrigued him. She was surrounded by the scent of roses, lemon a hint of mint and the winter wind in the countryside. Though she smelled like a Youkai, she looked human….

When she realised the way he was looking at her body she scowled and started walking away.

She was interrupted when a human girl called out to her: "Magdalena!!! I haven't seen you in ages!" The girl frowned and turned around to greet the human girl

So her name is Magdalena. Though still captivated by her scent, Sessoumaru smirked to himself. He would definitely investigate this creature further…
