InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The End is Only the Beginning ❯ Visions ( Chapter 11 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

For the sake of my life and health I have been forced to up out another chapter. Please no more death threats. I been having some serious problems with school, and I mean it when I say it is serious. If you want, you could send me an email and I'll put you on a mailing list. Every time I update I will send out an email to inform you. Unfortunately updates will continue to be sparse and far in between. I figure I should start getting the main part of the story soon so there should be more developments in the story. There have been some revisions in the earlier chapters so you might want to go back and look over some detail changes. There aren't that many changes but there is some. Sorry for the poor grammar and spelling this story is still un-beta-ed.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters featured in this story.

The recent events have added even more questions than answering them, putting the X-men on the edge. Tension and confusion hung thick in the air on the trip back to the mansion. With the strange relationship between their teammate Kagome and the Leader of the Morlocks, Shippou, and the newly acquired information concerning Magneto no one was at ease. Perhaps it was somewhat relieving that if problem arise there is a high possibility that they will have the support and aid of the Morlocks due to Kagome's relation to the Leader. However, this added even more mystery to the already elusive Kagome. For the moment that was not the issue, concerns of Magneto's movements have over shadowed all other issues now.

Upon arriving back at the mansion, the X-men got out of their respective vehicles. Jean and Scott wasted no time in heading to brief the Professor on the mission details leaving the Kagome, Logan and Remy to put away all the mission equipments. Kagome worked on recording the conditions of all the equipment while Logan and Remy checked the equipment for any damages that need to be fixed.

While helping Logan and Remy do their routine equipment maintenance, Kagome suddenly felt the Shikon no Tama inside her body pulse. The feeling was ominous and the air around her suddenly felt thick. Her lungs constricted as the temperature felt like it dropped below zero. The sudden cold and asphyxiation caused the room to spin in her vision as she fell to her knees. Just as her vision when black, flashes of images appeared to her. Scene after scene, a collage of chaos and destruction like none she has ever seen before flashed before her eyes. Death, destruction, evil and horrors of all sorts swam around her, after what seem like an eternity of torment a single figure appeared in the darkness.

A strange large figure of a man, though his appearance does not resemble any man she has ever seen. His stature was large and bulky and his face a stony gray with a large sinister smile. Red eyes gleamed with malevolence as he broke into hysterical laugher that sent chills running through her. “All of time and universe shall bow before me, I Apocalypse shall rule all those in existence.” That was all she heard before she fell into the darkness of unconsciousness.

Carrying on with the usual routine equipment maintenance quietly with Remy and Kagome, Logan was discreetly gazing at Kagome while he contemplated the mysteries surrounding the object of his unhealthy infatuation.

Without warning the color drained from Kagome's face. Deathly pale she suddenly falls to her knees clutching her throat as if she was choking. Hearing the clatter of Kagome dropped clipboard, both Logan and Remy rushed to Kagome's aid.

Worry flooded Logan's entire being as he held on to Kagome's convulsing body. Her skin was ice cold and clammy. Her eyes rolled back as her lips turned blue and her forehead slick with cold sweat. Fear griped his heart as her struggled breaths became more shallow, panic and distress joined his growing fear.
“Kagome! Kagome, what is wrong? Come on breath!” Logan continued to call out to her as Remy tried to check her vital signs. Her breaths became shallower and suddenly ceased.

“Logan! We need to give her CPR now! You give her CPR, do not stop! I'll go get help!” Remy ran off to find Jean as fast has he can.

Logan proceeded performing the necessary procedures for CPR as soon as her breathing stopped. In between the two breaths he breathed into her lungs, Logan desperately pleaded for Kagome to survive. “Breath, come on Kagome please breath. I can't loose you, we never got a rematch and I still need to take you on that dinner date. Please come back. Breath, Kagome please breath.” Logan continues to plead softly as continued to perform CPR on her. Unconsciously trails of warm tears rolled down his face.

Just as suddenly as she stopped breathing, Kagome gave a straggled gasp trying desperately to suck air into her lungs. After a few breaths of sudden staggered breaths, her breathing rhythm slowly even out and color returned to her skin as body became less cold. Logan was over whelming with relief that Kagome was not dead.

Jean, Remy, Scott along with the Professor rushed towards Kagome's prone form. With out a moment to waste Jean immediately checked Kagome's vital signs. While working steadily to stabilize Kagome's condition, she questioned Remy and Logan as to what exactly happened. “What happened here? Do you know what caused this?”

Logan ran the series the event carefully though is mind, but none of the events made any sense. He looked confusedly at Jean, “We honestly don't know what happened to her. One moment she was just fine then all of a sudden the color drained from her face and she stared choking. Then she collapsed, Remy and I rushed to help her, but then she stopped breathing. I performed CPR on her and she just stared breathing again just before you came.”

Contemplating on what Logan just said, it seems they won't be getting any answers until Kagome woke up. “Okay, her condition has stabilized; her breathing is normal and heart rate as fine we need to get her to the medical ward for more extensive care. Logan, could you carry her?” Logan lifted Kagome body, cradling her in her arms and followed Jean off to the medical ward.

The Professor, Scott and Remy, with concern etched across their faces, watched as Logan carried Kagome towards the medical ward with jean. “Scott we will continue the mission briefing on a later date, I must inform Mr. Takaitaro of what happened to Kagome. I am sure he would want to know of this.” With that said, the Professor made his way back to his office leaving Scott and Remy in the garage.

Waking up, Kagome was greeted with the sight of Logan on one side of the bed glaring intently at Sesshoumaru, whom was seated on the other side of the bed. Shifting body to sit up alerted the two males of her return to the conscious world. Logan uncharacteristically bombarded her with questions concerning her health. “Are you okay Kagome? How are you feeling? Are you hurting any where? What happened back there?”

The string of question reminded her of the reason she was in the hospital wing, images from her vision resurfaced. Unconsciously, Kagome placed her hand over where the Shikon no Tama resides in her body. This did not go unnoticed by Sesshoumaru. Giving Sesshoumaru a look that told him something was wrong, Sesshoumaru fully understood that the Shikon no Tama was reacting to something that caused Kagome's unexplainable attack.

Smiling reassuringly at Logan, “I okay now, I feel a lot better. Go and tell Jean that I am wake now and I feel just fine, though I need to have a private word with Mr. Takaitaro here and I do not want to be disturbed.”

Logan was glad that Kagome felt better but he could not help but feel the prick of jealously. “Are you sure you don't want Jean to come check up on you right away?”

“Don't worry, just give me a few minutes to speak with Mr. Takaitaro alone, then you guys could poke and prod me with those medical instruments until you guys are satisfied I am in good health okay?”

Reluctantly Logan rose and exited the room, but not before sending a threatening glare towards Sesshoumaru.

As soon as Logan left the room Sesshoumaru gave Kagome a grave look. “What exactly happened? Is it the Shikon no Tama? I was lead to believe that the damned jewel has ceased to exist.”

Kagome gave a curt nod. “The jewel was never destroyed. Rumors that if a selfless wish was made then the jewel would cease to exist are false. No wish is ever selfless; the corrupt soul within the jewel will find ways to twist things to cause chaos to whom ever wished it. I was not sent home because a wish was made; it was simply that I have finished my purpose in the past. I do not know why, but some how the jewel has become active again. Up until now it has not shown any signs of activity. I think it was reacting to some powerful evil force out there. While I was helping to do some routine maintenance work I felt the Shikon no Tama began to pulse. All of a sudden I could not breath, I felt cold and then everything became dark. As soon as the world around me dimmed I saw visions. I am not sure if they are vision of what is to come but I could definitely say they are not pleasant. They were images of the world in chaos, worlds of past and future. There were death, and destruction everywhere. The last image I saw was a large man, he called him self Apocalypse. He felt so evil; I haven't felt anything that vile since Naraku. At the end he said, “All of time and universe shall bow before me, I Apocalypse shall rule all those in existence.” I have a really bad feeling about this Sesshoumaru, I fear the worst has yet to come, and it will be brought upon us by this Apocalypse guy.”

Sesshoumaru thought gravely upon the information Kagome has just given him. `A being as vile as Naraku, perhaps even more so, is not to be taken lightly. I do not doubt Kagome's visions; it is not unheard of for miko to have premonitions of event yet to come.' Sesshoumaru simply gave a slight nod in understanding their current situation. “I believe Xavier should be informed of your vision. However, we should leave out any details that concern the Shikon no Tama. This foe seems to not only threaten the future of all things living but also the past.”

“Yes, I agree. I will be sure to tell them of what I saw. Will you be around for the telling?”

“No, if what you have seen will come to pass then there are plans and preparations to be made. I must go and inform others of this possible future. I will contact you as soon as I can.”

Turning to leave, Kagome quickly stopped him. “Wait, Sesshoumaru, I ran into Shippo during my last mission. He is living underground leading a group of mutants called the Morlocks. Make sure you find him and inform him of what is going on.”

Giving a slight nod in comprehension, Sesshoumaru left the mansion premises promptly to inform others of the situation.
