The End of Happiness

A/N:Kinda angsty,it's might also be a tear-jerker too.So depressing.Kagome sees Kikyou and Inu yasha together and runs away.The 1st angst I've ever done so don't sue me!

Kagome ran,ran as fast as she could.What she had witnessed was enough for her to probably run as fast as any demon.She couldn't take anymore of it.Being only a shard detector in the eyes of Inu yasha.Kagome couldn't handle it,the pain she felt when she saw them.It felt like her heart was ripped out and burned in the black flames of the under world.

Kagome clumsily tripped over a tree root and fell down.She scrapped her knee and twisted her ankle,but it was nothing compared to the pain building inside of her.She pushed herself onto her knees and started to cry.Kagome wrapped her arms around herself trying to calm down...it didn't work.

For the first time in her life,Kagome experienced love and how painful it was to lose it.She knew he still loved Kikyou,but she always denied it.Over the years,she had growned to love him,she didn't want to lose him...at least not in that way.She couldn't stop her tears from falling like the leaves do in fall.

'How could he have done this to me?' Kagome asked herself.Not only did she feel hurt but she also felt betrayed.She stopped crying instantly when she staed to herself 'Kagome,he never loved you.The only reason he protected you was because I was a shard detector and I was a reincarnation of his only love,Kikyou.You should have never fallen for him in the first place,see what it lead you too?Only pain,sorrow,heart-ache,and tears.He doesn't deserve you."

Kagome pulled herself to her feet and began to walk to the well.Anger filled her as she took every step.'I have family,the people who really do love me.I have nothing here,and I never will.I was nothing to Inu yasha,and let he be nothing of me.' She suddenly broke into a run as she wanted nothing more than to fall into the arms of her mother and cry,but her dignity was at stake,and she wasn't going to cry because she someone caused her pain.

There was a sudden rustle in the leaves and Kagome came to a hault.She knew exactly who was there in the darkness.

"What do you want?" Kagome said emotionlessly.

"Why are you acting this way?" Inu yasha asked.He jumped off the tree he was on and took two steps towards Kagome.

Kagome didn't like it at all so she took an arrow from her back and pointed it dangerousely at Inu yasha.

"Take another step and I'll pin you to a tree!" Kagome growled,still avoiding eye contact.

"Wha-what?Kagome,what's wrong?This isn't like you." Inu yasha stuttered.

"I saw what happened.I saw you two." Kagome turned to finally face Inu yasha,yet no tears fell from her hazel-brown eyes.They were filled with no emotion at all.

Inu yasha gasped,wide-eyed.He quickly ran over to Kagome and pulled her into his arms.

"Kagome...I'm so sorry..." Inu yasha apologized gently.

Kagome pulled away and began walking away,leaving a guilty Inu yasha.

"Leave.I don't want to see you again.All I want you to do is tell the guys I'm leaving...and don't forget to tell them...forever..." A glittering tear-drop finally came from Kagome's beautiful eyes.

"You were the one I truly loved Inu yasha...but now you mean nothing to me.Still with you gone,my heart will never feel completed.I wish I never met you!For you only see me as a wench.You never cared for me!So why don't you run into the arms of your true love.You don't need me anymore." Kagome whispered the last sentence to Inu yasha instead of shouting it.

Inu yasha ran quickly over to Kagome and took her wrists into his hands,turning her around so that he could see her face.Kagome looked away and took her hands from Inu yashas' hands.

"GO AWAY!" Kagome shouted as she startd to run towards the well.Her skirt was shredded by tree branches,thorns on some flowers,and other plants that were low down.Her legs were scarred and the completed Shikon no Tama jewel around her neck was bouncing back and forth as she ran.She heard Inu yasha calling out to her,but she couldn't care less.Nothing,now,could keep her from leaving the world that brought her such misery.

Once Kagome reached the well,she took the ribbon that was in her hair out.Inu yasha suddenly appeared from behind her.Kagome immediately turned around and grabbed hold of the rosary around his neck and gave it a pull.For the first time,she was glad to hear the sound of beads dropping to the ground,and shattering.

"There.You're free." Inu yasha was quite stunned at her reaction to his appearence.

"Kagome.Please don't leave us.Sango needs you,Miroku needs you,Shippou needs you...I-"

"DON"T LIE YOU FILTHY DOG!!!" Kagome yelled furiously. "YOU NEVER NEEDED ME!!!LET ME GO!!!" Tears dangerously began to fall from Kagomes' eyes.

"Please Kagome...I really do need you" Inu yasha pleaded.

Kagome said nothing.She reached for the Shikon no Tama jewel around her neck and gave it a yank.She took one look at it before taking Inu yashas' hand and placing it gently in.

"Take it and wish for Kikyou back again.No one would choose a copy over an original.All I want for you now is to be happy Inu yasha.Please,just forget I had ever existed.It would be the best thing to do." Kagome leaned in so that she was near Inu yasha's ear and wispered "I love you." One more tear-drop fell from Kagomes eyes and landed on Inu yashas shoulder.

Kagome leaned back out and turned.The ruby red ribbon she held in her hands was laid gently on the edge of the well.Kagome was going to leave the world she grew to love,the world that brought adventures,and also the world that brought her such tears,heart-ache,pain,agony,and distress.

Kagome whispered one last good-bye to Inu yasha before she leapt into the well.Inu yashas silent tears stained the grass beneath his feet.He knew he wasn't going to ever see Kagome again.She would use the last of her miko powers to seal the well.

"Good-bye my love" He whispered as he began to stride of into the darkness of the forest.

I can't believe I wrote this!It was so sad,can you believe I almost cried?So Inu yasha really did love Kagome,but found out was too late.R&R please?Flames are aloud ^_^
