AN: I received a couple of reviews that spurred this next part of The Curse of the Demon Lord. It was originally going to be a second one-shot, but it seems to be growing into a fic of Kagome and her Inu and their, um...adventures.Updates will be sporadic.

The End of the Curse
The rain pelted the Western Lands filling dried out bodies of water and drenching drought-ridden crops with their life-giving waters. It was a gift from the Kami to the Lord and his new Lady in support of their recent mating. It was a show of thanks and reward for fulfilling the duty of a ruling lord and the Kami were relieved that their plans had worked and celebrated their cleverness.
Kagome was not originally destined to come to the past, break the Shikon no Tama and travel with the group that she did and search for the shards. No she was supposed to stay in her time, graduate high school and then college, marry Hojo and live happily ever after with her family.
However the continued actions of a stubborn Inu Youkai had changed all of that.
The Kami watched as Sesshomaru continued to live his life after the death of the Great Inu no Taisho walking the path of supreme conquest.It worried the Kami that he had made no effort to fulfill his duty and find a female in which to mate and secure the future of the lands that he ruled.
This was why the curse was in place to protect the people of Japan from the inherent traits of the ruling demons. The Kami had felt that they waited long enough for the obstinate demon to fulfill his true destiny and stepped in by setting the plans in motion that would bring the perfect female to the obstinate male.
Kagome was chosen for her loyalty and fire, things that drew her to youkai.She was a true spirit and had Miko Ki that would rival her Inu’s powerful youki. Between them they would have incredibly strong offspring.The Kami were not concerned that the children of such a powerful pair would be out of control. Kagome would teach them compassion and Sesshomaru would teach them restraint and responsibility.
Their work was done having brought the two together and the Kami would watch over them and their lands as they lived out their eternal lives together.

As the rains continued throughout the night outside of the den of the Western Lord and his lady, said couple rested from their recent activities, shadows playing against the walls from the low-lit torches placed in specific places for the best illumination.
The inu male’s pale naked body was wrapped around his female for warmth and protection as they rested, their hair mingling in streaks of black and silver in a halo around them.
Sesshomaru’s eyes opened slowly as he awakened from his brief respite.The arm that lay across his female’s stomach began to stroke her to rouse her gently from her rest.The Inu deliberately ran his nose from the neck of his mate to her stomach, taking in the scent of the pup that was resting within her womb.A low rumble of content escaped him.

Kagome took her time in washing the inu in front of her taking in every feature she could, taking time as she washed the stripes at his hips that pointed to the part of him that had given her such pleasure.Her eyes widened at the enormous tool that was flaccid and she wondered how in the hell that thing fit! Kagome walked into the main cavern, her light blue sleeping yukata accenting her curves and her hair falling about her in waves down to the middle of her back. Her blue eyes lighting up as she saw her inu as he stood by the fire in all of his naked glory.Blushing, Kagome lowered her eyes.

We will be seeing much of each other over our long lifetime,Ó he told her.Then taking her hand he pulled her to the pillows next to the table where he meal sat and had her sit. ÒEat. That got her attention. ÒWh-what?Ó she gasped. ÒYou carry the heir to the Western lands,Ó he told her. ÒAre you not happy?Ó he hesitantly asked.
Taking bites of the meat and fruit in front of her she replied in between, ÒNo-no, nothing like that.Of course I am happy. Just a bit surprised that it happened so soon,Ó she replied.
ÒYou were at your most fertile and my beast was not going to let you get away without being pupped,Ó he explained.
A question came to mind. ÒSesshomaru? Is this where you live?Ó she asked him.
ÒNo,Ó he replied. ÒFor generations the inu males of my line have brought their females here during their fertile time. This den is well hidden and keeps the fertile and pupped female protected,Ó he told her. ÒOnce our heir is born and weaned, we will head for the Western Citadel where you and the pup will be introduced to demon society.Ó
ÒYou mean that we will spend the next nine months or more here?Ó she asked a little unnerved.She needed interaction with other people. She would go stir-crazy if she didn’t get some time out!
Sesshomaru sensed her distress and knew the reasons. ÒThe gestation period may be less since you carry a half-demon pup. Although, judging by your scent it may be full demon.Ó Then changing the subject, ÒHowever, this one’s instincts have kicked in and I will be more possessive and protective. While it is not usual to leave the den while the female is carrying I will allow you trips to Edo to visit your friends but I will be accompanying you,Ó he told her. Seeing her relax a little more he continued, ÒBut beware, any male that approaches you will be seen as a threat and a rival and will be dealt with accordingly.Ó
Kagome nodded in understanding while she continued her nibbling and thought for a moment.She really could understand why Sesshomaru would be a little more obsessive about who she came in contact with and could deal with that.She was keeping an open mind about the situation and knew that she had a lot to learn in the months to come about her new mate.
She knew it was going to be trying but she wasn’t one to give up easily.Another thing was on her mind and she didn’t hesitate to mention it. ÒSesshomaru?I need to go home and see my mother.Sooner if possible.She’s going to want to know what has happened.I don’t know what she’ll think when I told her that she’s going to be a grandmother!Ó
ÒUntil the pup has fully taken root and is stable, I will not take any chances on traveling. Maybe in a month or two but no sooner,Ó his voice brooked no argument.
Kagome ran through her thoughts deciding arguing would get her nowhere, she continued to eat the meal her mate had lovingly provided for her.
