Chapter One-Things aren't, as they always seem.

 

Sure, the day was absolutely beautiful, the bright warm sun beamed down from the heavens. Clouds of puff white hung loosely in the sky. The fall breezed whipped through the dense forest of Federal Japan. But, just because it was a beautiful day didn't mean that your day was going to be. Or at least that is what the Inuyasha-gumi thought.

 

Winding up and around the dirt road they have been traveling on for three years, Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, Shippo, and Kirara head north to where they herd rumors of the last of the jewel shards. The final battle with Naraku was a battle indeed. The heavy smell of blood and death laid everywhere, on everything, in everything. Those with sensitive noses almost passed out from the stench. The battle it self was two days long. Inuyasha had taken the most blows. Sango, Miroku, and Kirara had their own. Kagome and Shippo were barely touched thanks to everyone else. The final blow to Naraku went to Inuyasha and Kagome. The last thing you herd from the hanyou was,

 

“How was the all powerful Naraku defeated by a hanyou and human?!” Inuyasha and Kagome looked at each other and Inuyasha said,

 

“Hey Kagome, doesn't that sound familiar?”

 

“Yea, but I don't know from where.” (You would know if you saw all the Inuyasha movies.)

 

That battle was about a month ago. Kikyou died. (Yes!!!) Kouga took Ayama as his mate; Sesshomaru gave half of his land to his brother after they formed an alliance with him and Kouga. Inuyasha was named most powerful demon in all of Japan. Though, Sesshomaru wasn't too happy about that. Miroku finally proposed to Sango and she accepted. Shippo become more attached to Kagome. And Kagome, she was crowned most powerful miko next to Midoroku (sp???) and started her training with Keade-sama.

 

“Kagome. Kagome?” calls Sango. Kagome snaps out of her daze and looks over at her best friend.

 

“Yes Sango-chan?” She stops long enough for her to catch up.

 

“What do you plan to do now that it is all over?” Then, a certain pair of hanyou ears focused behind the owner in order to hear her answer. (I don't know about you but I looooove those ears!!!)

 

“Hmm, I never really thought about of that.” Replied Kagome as she puts her finger on her cheek and ponders. “Well, I did promise Inuyasha I would give him the jewel.”

 

“Inuyasha, what do you intend to do with the jewel?” asked Miroku. Shippo on his shoulder says,

 

“Yea Inuyasha! You already are more powerful than anyone in Japan. What more do you want?”

 

“More than you know.” He whispers as he looks at Kagome. The stopped for a quick break and she was helping Sango make ramen. Kagome was everything to him. If anything happened to her, he wouldn't be able to live with him self. He loved her flaws, her strengths, everything. The way her midnight black hair shone in the sun, her gray eyes that sparkled like water sprayed stones. Inuyasha shakes his heads of such thoughts. Kagome would never stay with him. He was hanyou, never loved. She would probably go back home, and forget everything they have been through. Maybe that was for the best.

 

“No, I meant what era are you going to live in Kagome?” corrected Sango. Kagome looks up from the cooking food and smiles.

 

“Oh, I have definitely thought about that. I'm going to stay here. It is so beautiful! There are no cars, buildings that hide these beautiful. I like it here, it's primitive.” Kagome giggled. Primitive is right it you were thinking of what Kagome was thinking. Inuyasha. Such a handsome being. How she wanted to play with his ears forever! Inuyasha herd the primitive part and blushed as red as a raspberry.

 

“Oh that's wounderful Kagome! I don't know what I would have done if you left!” smiled Sango.

 

“Yes Lady Kagome, it would have brought tears to my eyes.”

 

Kagome looked over at Inuyasha who was “playing” with Shippo and Kirara a few yards away and smiled.

 

“Yea, I don't know what I would have done either.”
