That had felt better than he had ever thought it would, though now he had his mate to worry about. He didn't want her to remain upset and distracted, they had to focus on getting Kaido back. He had no idea where she had gone, she covered her scent when she left the dojo. This meant when she wanted to be found he would find her. He sighed, she always was a handful but he had missed her so much since she left. Then not being able to touch her when she returned was the worse toture. He didn't know what to expect so he didn't seek her out or try to get close. Five years had past, even he knew things could change. When she didn't come running to him in the village he knew things were going to be difficult to get past. He kept his distance and just ensured that Inuyasha didn't try anything to sway her. Though to be truthful he wasn't worried about Inuyasha he was more concerned with her home, her time. There was nothing he could do to keep the men in her time from trying to take her and he knew, or thought he knew, that she wasn't coming back. Seeing her in the village, hearing from Kaido that she was back was like a stab through the heart. She left him all those years ago with the thought that she could never be back. To see her... he felt the worse kind of rage. It felt as if she had betrayed him and their son. He shook his head slowly, there was nothing that could be done now. It was clear that things would be difficult for a while. Kagome had meant to tell her friends about them after Naraku died but then she left with the decision that it would be better. Sesshoumaru walked the halls absent-mindedly. He had pictures of her, of them, and of her with Kaido he just kept them hidden from their son. Watching his son grow without a mother reminded him of when he was a pup and even of Inuyasha as a pup. It hurt, he couldn't deny that, but telling Kaido and showing Kaido wouldn't make things any different. Kagome was gone and it was supposed to stay that way. He didn't know where things would go from here. Sesshoumaru wanted her, needed her but so much had happened and he wasn't so sure of her feelings for him anymore. The pain in his heart surged and he stopped. 'I don't want to loose her...' In the past things were so much easier with them but now... Sesshoumaru continued walking until he reached his chambers. His hand rested on the door before opening it, so many memories had happened with Kagome. Their first kiss. He smiled to himself. After that he avoided her for weeks. Sesshoumaru refused to admit that a human had caught his attention, but it was pointless. In the end she captured his heart as well. When he made her his mate. Never in all of his life had he loved someone as much as he loved Kagome. She didn't know it but after they mated he marked her, she was his forever and always. Nothing in his eyes would change that. He never wanted to be away from her, Kagome made everything seem brighter. She even had the unique power to make him smile when no one could. Finding out she was pregnant. That changed everything. It was clear in his mind when she told him, it was far too early for his nose to pick up the scent. He looked at her in shock and even doubt before she took his hand and put it on her stomach. His life changed with the thought of being a father, of being what his father wasn't. Though Kagome got annoyed with him everyday because he didn't let her do anything for herself. It was a struggle just for her to go home. Then Kaido came into their lives. Nothing could describe the feeling of holding his son while sitting next to his mate. Sesshoumaru felt like his life was complete and nothing could change that. Or so he thought. Kagome told him she had to leave, back to her time. They fought for days over that. He felt like she was abandoning him and Kaido. It hurt to see her cry but he had to tell her how he felt. When she left he thought he was going to break down. But he couldn't, he had his son to care for. He leaned his head against the door and closed his eyes. Saying goodbye was the hardest thing he had ever done. He would have given up his land, his title, anything just so she could stay. Tears fell from his eyes and made trails down his cheeks. More than anything in the world Kagome had the power to make him cry without even meaning to. Sesshoumaru opened the door and slid it closed behind him. He could smell Kaido's scent and his heart constricted painfully. Fresh tears fell down his cheeks. "Kaido." "Sesshoumaru..." He turned sharply towards the voice. "You miss your darling little boy don't you? Aw, how sad." He snarled, "Where is my son?" "Oh he's safe for now. Give me my mate back and you can have your little boy." "No." His eyes hardened and turned cold, "You will not have my mate. She was never yours." "I see. Well then I can no longer promise your son's safety." He stepped forward into the light. Sesshoumaru's eyes widened a fraction before returning to normal. "Now you know my true form. Your father was very unfaithful in his day as ruler. Or maybe our father is more acurate?" He smiled, his gold eyes sparkling. "What is your name?" "Well I don't really go by the name father gave me anymore, but it is Taisha." That name sounded familiar to him but he didn't know where he had heard it. "Think over my offer and we shall see what happens to you baby boy." He stepped back into the shadows, "I'll be in touch." Sesshoumaru felt his youki disappear and calmed. His door opened. He turned back, tense and expecting Inuyasha. Kagome stood there with tears in her eyes. Closing his eyes, Sesshoumaru sighed. "Come in, I suppose we need to talk." She closed the door behind her. "What is that smell?" "I'll explain that after we talk." He went over to his bed and sat down. "What are we going to do?" Kagome followed him and sat down beside him, "I don't know. I just don't want to lose you..." She put her hands up to her face and started to cry anew. Sesshoumaru wrapped his arms around her and laid his chin on her head. "Kagome I don't want to pick up where we left off only to have you leave again. That is my concern." "I don't want to leave! And I didn't before..." She looked up at him, "I will not leave this time Sesshoumaru. I can't, everything I love is here. I belong here with you and Kaido." He looked down into her eyes, "Kagome... I have missed you so much." Sesshoumaru leaned down and placed his lips over hers. She melted into his embrace and returned the kiss whole-heartedly. Sesshoumaru ran his tongue over her lips and growled softly as she parted them for him. He kissed her as he had wished to since she left him. His tongue met hers and tangled in a dance as old as time. Kagome moaned into his mouth and kissed with renewed passion. Her hands went up around his neck and she pulled herself up against him. Pulling away slightly she kissed his lips repeatedly and with a wicked smirk pushed him back on the bed. He growled at her show of dominance, "Miko..." Her laughter filled the room, "Yes youkai?" Kagome straddled his hips and held his hands above his head. "What are you doing?" He lifted a silver brow in question. "Having a little fun before you decide to de-throne me." She smiled again and leaned up to kiss him, purposefully rubbing her hips against him. When he groaned softly beneath her she smiled brighter. "Kagome... I'm warning you." "Thank you for the warning my Lord." She said mockingly against his lips. Kagome moved away from his lips to his ear, she licked the outside of his ear at the pointed tip. He growled. She smiled against his ear. If he didn't like what she was doing he would have flipped them over by now. 'Maybe Sesshoumaru likes being dominated.' Tired of her playing he flipped them over and smirked down at her. Kagome pouted, "Aw, Sesshoumaru..." ~*~
