It was late that night when Sango emerged from her family's shrine house. The main shrine room was rather large so she practiced her weaponry there. Her four hours workout tonight was due to a particular boy. Miroku had come over after school in hopes to talk the overly stubborn Sango into a date on Friday; the day after tomorrow. Of course, she shy agreed to it. The joy in her heart kept her going an extra hour and a half. If she wouldn't have worked for that long, there was no way she would get to sleep.
Moving around the bundle of weapons she had in her arms, he managed to look at the watch that was attacked to her wrist; 8:30. It wasn't that late, she still had about two hours till she had to go to bed. There were still three chapters to read for homework, which was easy enough. Two hours would be plenty of time.
Walking to the storage house, directly behind the well house, she opened the door. The left wall and back wall were covered in boxes and strange mummified things. The right wall, however, was covered in weapons. As Sango started to place the weapons where they go, she failed to notice as strange blue light from within the well house. It shone for a moment, then was gone, being replaced with soft whimpering of what appeared to be a young woman.
Sango had placed the last of the weapons away when she heard it. Somewhere a woman was crying. Closing the storehouse doors, she walked out into the night. Wandering throughout the dark shine ground she found herself standing in front of the well house. When she opened the door the sobbing became louder. The room was too dark to see anything, with the exception of the slight lighting of the well, due to the moon.
Looking down the well, Sango couldn't see the bottom, but knew a girl was down there. “Hello? Are you ok?” Sango called. The crying stopped. “Hello?”
“Who are you” a small raspy voice came from behind the darkness.
“Oh god, how did you get in there? Are you ok?”
“Help Me” then all was quiet.
“Hello?” Sango waited; nothing. “HELLO” she screamed. “Oh god she must have passed out”. Running from the well house, she headed toward her home, which was located on the shrine grounds. Running threw the door, she grabbed the phone that was on the wall. She dialed the first person she thought of.
“Hello” an irritated voice was heard on the other end.
“Inu Yasha! Let me talk to Miroku, he said the he was going to be there tonight”
“yeah yeah, hold on.” There was a small pause.
“Hello Lady Sango, what can I do for you?” He said slyly.
“Miroku” Sango's said frantically.
Miroku's attitude changed immediately.
“What's wrong? Are you ok?”
“Somebody fell down the well. I don't know how they got down there, but I can't leave her there”
“Go back to the well house and keep her company, I'll be there in a moment.”
“She passed out, it seemed like she was in a lot of pain”
“Ok, just go there incase she wakes up, I'm leaving right now”
Sango hung up. Running back to the storehouse she grabbed some rope and a flashlight. Tying it around her house waist on the way there, Sango made her way back to the well. Tying the other end to the railing around the well, she turned on the flashlight and pointed it down the well. Still too dark to see to the bottom she lowered herself into the darkness.
Touching her feet on the bottom of the well, she turned the flash light to the girl laying unconscious. Sango was more than confused. She was wearing a priestess's outfit, had a bow, and a thing of arrows. That was when Sango looked at her clothes, they were covered in blood. Checking for wounds, Sango found none, meaning that this was not her blood.
Picking up the girls head, she paced her it in her lap. Moving the hair from her face she studied it. She was beautiful. Even when her face was tear streaked, it still held such beauty and purity.
“SANGO” called a familiar voice.
“I'm down here Miroku” Sango called back.
Miroku ran to the well and looked down, to see back. “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN THE WELL” he screamed wordily.
Sango smiled slightly. His worrying was kind of cute, although he wasn't one to yell.
“Shut up Miroku. Look, Sango probably tried herself to that thingy over there and lowered herself it.” Inu Yasha snorted.
Sango just sat there while the two started arguing. Leaning up against the well of the well she sighed.
“No, help me” The woman moaned. Sango fixed the light to shine on her face. She seamed to have a bad dream. Suddenly her eyes shot open.
Sango watched in amazement as the girl grabbed her bow and moved to the opposite side of the well. Grabbing an arrow, the young priestess loaded her arrow and pointed it at Sango.
Sango watched the girl. She was terrified. Then the girl froze. Dropping her arrow slightly she closed her eyes. “A demon's coming, you must get out of here” she said.
Sango just looked at the girl. She looked up to see blackness. How was she supposed to get out of here? Right, the rope!
“Sango, is she conscious now?” Inu Yasha called down the well.
“RUN, SOMETHING'S COMING!” The priestess yelled.
Inu Yasha and Miroku stared down the well in confusion.
Something caught Inu Yasha's attention. Somebody was coming; Sesshomaru. He knew that smell, after all, he lived with the ass. Growling Inu Yasha turned around to see Sesshomaru standing there, in his old aristocratic outfit, armor, sword and everything.
“What do you want Sesshomaru” Inu Yasha growled lowly.
“Nothing that concerns you at the current moment.”
At that point Sango had climbed out of the well and was currently helping the priestess out.
Sesshomaru looked past his little brother to see the girl he'd been waiting for climbing out of the well. “Priestess Kagome”.
Kagome touched her feet on the ground and looked up to see the shadowy figure of somebody familiar. Grabbing an arrow she readied her bow. “Sesshomaru” she said darkly.
“It has been some time since I have seen you”
“What are you talking about, I JUST SAW YOU!” She pulled back her bow and let go. The arrow flew towards Sesshomaru almost too fast to see. Luckily Sesshomaru did. The arrow hit the half open door, shattering it in an instant. “Get back here coward” kagome yelled as she chased him outside.
The other three just watched.
“Is she really chasing Sesshomaru?” Sango asked.
“And he's running from her” Miroku commented.
Inu Yasha grew angry. “WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!?!?!” he screamed as he chased after the girl. “That girl is going to get herself killed.”
They entered the darkness of the night once again, but stopped once they did. The area between the main house and the well house was large. On the farthest side Sesshomaru stood, ready for the priestess to attack. The priestess stood not 20 feet from them, arrow ready. They watched silently.
“It seems priestess that you do not know where you are.”
“All I know was that I was fighting you when something came from the ground and attacked me and hojo.” She paused, tears filling her eyes.
“Yes, I remember. You fell down the well with your friend, never to return” Sesshomaru sheathed his sword.
“What do you mean never to be seen again?” Kagome lowered her bow.
“It's been 500 years to the day priestess.” He started walking toward her. “I no longer wish to fight like I once thrived for”
Kagome started laughing. “You're an old man now?”
Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes “Do no forget priestess, I could kill you in an instance.”
Kagome smiled. “But you always took it easy on me”
There was a pause.
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!” screamed Inu Yasha, breaking the silence!
Kagome turned toward the hanyou. “Lord Sesshomaru, who is that?” she pointed towards the hanyou.
“My halfwit little brother” Sesshomaru said in monotone.
“I did not know you had a brother, Lord Sesshomaru” she walked towards the hanyou, studying him. “So the prophecies were true” he turned back to Sesshomaru. “Is there anyway for me to go back?” she asked sadly.
Sesshomaru just stared at her.
Kagome nodded. “Thought so”. Forcing a smile she turned toward the hanyou. “Well then” She bowed to him. “It is a pleasure to meat you Inu Yasha, son to Lord Inu Taishu”
“You knew my father?” Inu Yasha squeaked.
Kagome remained in a bow. “I did”
“How”
“Kagome, you may rise now” Sesshomaru interrupted.
“Thank you lord Sesshomaru” She raised and looked straight at the hanyou. “Lord Inu Taishu fought against the demon uprising, I fought by his side.”
Inu Yasha just stared at the girl. Sango and Miroku had disappeared somewhere.
“Little brother, it was prophesized that father would have two sons. The oldest would be given the reins of power, while the other would be given the priestess by the hands of the fates.”
“You mean the fates gave her to me?” he pointed to kagome. Folding his arms he growled, “Why the hell would the fates give me a week human girl, and why would I want one.”
“Hey, you're making me sound like I'm an object” Kagome irritation grew at his last comment.
Leaning forward Inu Yasha unleashed his anger as well. “Aren't you? The fates gave you to me right; just like an object.”
Kagome slapped him “I'm your fiancé you ass”.
Inu Yasha starred at her. “Oh HELL no!”
