The Fire In His Eyes

~*~*~*~

The girls all sat in their new chamber, compliments of the Lord of the Eastern Lands. They wore elaborate silk robes, which covered up everything and then some, and had several layers to keep them warm.

A fire burned brightly in the hearth, and once again all the girls were huddled together on the floor with their sheets and pillows. Though this time they were all giggling and celebrating, and gossiping about, well, men.

Apparently nearly everyone had met the guy of her dreams, and they were all anxious to tell the others about their own certain special someone. Kagome couldn't help but burst out laughing at some of the pairings that had developed, seeing as she had met most of the soldiers residing in the castle by then.

As the other girls droned on about well-tones chests and eyes that you could drown in, Sango pulled Kagome away from the group, and they sat next to the door.

"I can't believe this is happening Kagome, it's like a dream."

Kagome looked at Sango with a mischievous grin, miraculously resembling a cat.

"What the fact that we escaped Sesshomaru or the fact that you met Miroku?"

Sango looked down at the ground, a pretty shade of pink tinted on her cheeks.

"Both I guess…"

Her answer caused Kagome to smile, she had been trying to convince Sango to confess that she liked the man ever since they had arrived at the castle, about two hours or so ago.

Kagome had seemed to be the only one to notice the way Sango blushed whenever Miroku interacted with her in any way, and though he had already groped her approximately six times, she knew that deep down Sango enjoyed it.

Sango smiled at Kagome evilly and poked her in the nose with a pointer finger accusingly.

"Don't be teasing me when you can't even admit your feelings for a certain silver-haired someone."

Kagome looked at Sango quizzically for a moment, before tilting her head to the side questioningly. Sango smacked her head in disbelief.

"Kagome! You know who I'm talking about don't you?!" She almost yelled, exasperated.

Kagome blinked a few times, `surely she isn't talking about Sesshomaru?'

"Um…Sesshomaru?"

Sango gave her a deadpan look, her mouth hanging open in disbelief. She grabbed Kagome's shoulders and shook her lightly.

"NO NOT SESSHOMARU! The silver-haired general that rescued us today! Don't tell me you forgot about him!"

Kagome blushed, and looked down, drawing imaginary pictures in the rich carpet.

"I don't really know if I have feelings for him."

Sango smiled at her evilly again, "Then why are you blushing?"

Kagome pondered about this for a while. `Do I like him? I don't know him very well, wait a minute, I don't even know what it's like to have a crush on someone!' She looked up at Sango sheepishly.

"I've never had a crush on anyone before…I don't know if I like him or not."

Sango's smile disappeared temporarily, and she blinked a few times, pondering this.

"Do you like being around him?"

Kagome thought about this,

"Yes."

Sango nodded approvingly, good now they were getting somewhere.

"Do you feel differently around him then with other men?" She prodded further.

Again Kagome thought about this,

"Yeah I think so…"

"What happens when he talks to you or teases you?"

"…I get butterflies in my stomach and my face feels hot…"

"AH! KAGOME HE'S YOUR FIRST CRUSH!!!!" Sango let out a delighted squeal, alerting all the women in the room to the conversation.

All the girls immediately flocked around the two, bombarding Kagome with questions, and when all she did was blush and look at the ground, they turned on Sango.

"WHO? WHO?"

"Your first Kagome?"

"How much do you like him?"

"Who is he anyway?"

"What's his name?"

"Sango will you tell us?"

"WHO?!?"

Sango shushed them all, answering all questions, but never naming whom it was, she would let Kagome do that when she was ready.

"Yes, her first crush, but she's not even sure how much she likes him yet, I was just getting to that earlier."

All eyes turned to Kagome expectantly. After she didn't answer for a while, Nazuna spoke up,

"Who is it Kagome?"

Kagome looked at her sheepishly.

"I don't know his name really…"

The girls all turned to each other with knowing glances.

"Hmm, lets see, does he have pretty silver hair?" Yura asked slyly.

"Could his eyes be golden I wonder?" Kagura added.

Kagome looked at them all is disbelief, only to receive evil, smug, or amused grins. They all knew already? Kagome blushed.

"If you already knew who I liked then why did you ask me about it?!"

Everyone began to laugh, and she couldn't help but smile, they hadn't had a chance to smile or laugh since…well since Sesshomaru captured them all.

Her smile faltered when she noticed that the group was short two people. She stood up and looked around the elaborate room. The sight that greeted her was a sobbing Rin, curled up on a bench right by the window.

Everyone's laughter died down as she made her way over to a window in the corner, by Rin's bed. Kagome sat down next to Rin and gently rubbed her back. Everyone slowly made their way over to her as well.

Kaede, who was the same age as Kanna and Rin, and was particularly close to her, decided to ask her first,

"What's wrong Rin?"

Rin seemed to finally notice that everyone was gathered around her, her tear stained face looking up at everyone pleadingly. She sniffled and began to sob as she spoke,

"I know you'll probably all think that I'm crazy or hate me, but I can't help it!"

She broke down into another bout of sobs, and everyone tried to calm her down. When she had calmed down enough to talk, Kaede spoke,

"You know we would never think that of you Rin, now what's wrong?"

Rin sniffled a little before speaking,

"I think I fell in love with Lord Sesshomaru…" she whispered it so softly only a few people heard.

Everyone tried to comfort her, occasionally glancing at each other worriedly. This continued on until she eventually cried herself to sleep. Everyone realized how late it actually was, and decided to go to bed. They all decided to gather their bedspreads and sheets together in the center of the room, like they had done shortly before their rescue.

Something nagged at the back of Kagome's mind, but she shrugged it off. Her mind was too drugged from sleep to realize that someone from the group was still absent.

~*~*~Out in the Hall~*~*~

Juuroumaru turned to his brother; Kageroumaru and they exchanged knowing smiles. They could hear everything that went on inside the room, and after blushing to themselves when their names were spoken by their own objects of affection, they turned to snicker and jeer at each other.

They then heard Sesshomaru's name spoken, and instantly went silent. They heard sobbing, and listened to the muffled voices inside the room carefully. Kageroumaru glanced at Juuroumaru worriedly; it would be a problem if one of the young maidens held feelings for the lord of the Western lands.

But they knew that that was a minor problem. They had heard talk of a certain silver-haired someone, and they smiled to each other triumphantly. It took all their willpower to keep from bursting out laughing, but as they listened to the conversation unfold, their moods softened. One of the maidens, apparently one named Kagome, held feelings for this man.

They smiled widely at each other. This certain silver-haired someone would be very pleased to hear this news, they just hoped it was the right girl. Juuroumaru nodded to Kageroumaru, who was on the right side of the door, signaling him.

Kageroumaru nodded once in agreement, and hurried off to report.

~*~*~*~

Kagome wandered around through the courtyard outside the palace. She looked around and sighed. `Not out here either,' she looked down at the ground sadly. How hard could it be to find one guy?!

She heard a hallow thumping sound, accompanied by loud shouting. She sweat-dropped; Miroku was at it again. As she turned the corner, Miroku raced past her, and seeing her there, tried desperately to hide behind her.

She turned around in confusion, just in time to see a huge boomerang fly around the corner. She screamed and ducked, leaving Miroku wide open for attack. Sango raced around the corner to survey the damage.

What she saw was Kagome on her hands and knees, eyes wide, and Miroku a few yards away with little swirleys in his eyes. She went over and helped Kagome up. Kagome dusted herself off, and watched, as Sango walked over to Miroku to retrieve the boomerang, where she had gotten it Kagome had no idea.

"Lady Sango, don't be angry it was a compliment! Honest!"

She could see a vein popping out of Sango's head.

"MIROKU!!!"

Kagome could have sworn she could see steam coming from her ears.

"Yes Lady Sango?" Miroku answered in his sweet voice.

Kagome stepped in the way just as Sango was about to bring her weapon down on his head.

"Whose side are you on Kagome?" Kagome smiled to her, "Yours, which is why I can't allow you to kill Miroku."

Sango looked confused for a minute, then realization dawned on her and she blushed. Miroku looked up at Kagome from his spot on the ground.

"Lady Kagome why aren't you…erm, with someone on this fine day?"

Kagome looked down at the ground sadly,

" I can't find him anywhere," she stated hopelessly.

Though all the girls now had about ten times more freedom, they were still concubines, as well as indebted to the Lord of the East and his men for saving them, and so most of the girls had gone off with their respected men to, um…spend quality time together…in bed. And if she was going to have to do it with someone, she knew who she wanted it to be.

She blushed at the thought, and looked to see Miroku staring upon at her with a knowing smile.

"Who may I ask are you looking for Lady Kagome?"

She blushed even deeper, and was about to answer, but soon remembered that she didn't even know his name yet.

" I didn't really get a chance to ask his name." Sango and Miroku could barely hear her. Miroku's smile faltered, and he stood up,

" Speaking of which, forgive me for neglecting to tell you sooner, but the Lord would wish for you to accompany him tonight."

Sango dropped her boomerang and looked to Kagome fearfully.

" The Lord?"

Kagome was still trying to soak it all in, she wasn't quite sure if this was a good thing or not. She looked at the ground, defeated. She wasn't stupid; she knew what that meant.

"When does he need me?"

Miroku brought his hand up to rub the back of his head nervously,

"Well, about two hours ago actually."

Kagome panicked, she was two hours late! He would surely punish her for this. She didn't even stop to think as she ran from the courtyard and into the palace.

~*~*~*~

Inuyasha stared down at the courtyard from his balcony with amusement. Watching Sango beat Miroku to a pulp was quite entertaining. He saw something out of the corner of his eye, and his gaze softened as it switched to Kagome. He saw Miroku run behind her as Sango hurled her giant boomerang at him. He was about to jump down and shield Kagome when she screamed and ducked.

He let out a breath that he didn't know he had been holding, and his grip on the terrace railing loosened a little. He used his demon hearing to tune in to the conversation below. He smiled, Kagome was talking about him! His sweet little Kagome was talking about him.

He felt butterflies in his stomach as he saw her panic and run from the courtyard. He groaned, now she was going to be afraid of him. `Damn you Miroku,' he stopped shooting death glares at Miroku to turn around, she would be here soon, and he wanted everything to be perfect.

~*~*~*~

Kagome stopped outside the two huge doors to catch her breath. As she reached her hand up to knock, a sick feeling developed in her stomach, she withdrew her hand a little.

"Come in."

She jumped back a little when a gentle, almost soothing voice came through the door. She closed her eyes and let the sound of his voice wash over her, relaxing her tense nerves, maybe this wouldn't be so bad.

She snapped back to reality and shyly opened the door. She closed the door behind her and turned around.

She had to hold in a gasp at what she saw. The silver-haired man that had saved her from before was sitting in bed, his back against the headboard, sheets and blankets pulled up to his waist. He had no shirt on and was smiling at her seductively.

She bowed to him and kept her eyes on the floor. She heard him slide out of bed and tensed.

"You can look at me you know." He whispered right in her ear, sending shivers of delight down her spine.

She tentatively looked up at him, to find him only inches away from her. She quickly jolted out of her thoughts to reply,

"Yes my lord."

He seemed to sadden when she said that.

"I would prefer if you didn't call me that."

She looked at him confused,

"What would I be allowed to call you then master?"

He seemed to be trying to ignore the master part, " Just call me Inuyasha alright?"

She looked up at him with a shy smile on her face, and nodded in agreement.

"Forgive me, if I had known it was you before, I would have treated you with more respect."

He looked up at her proudly, grasping her hands in his own, one in each. "Then it's a good thing I didn't tell you who I was isn't it?"

Her head snapped up at his statement, confused. He chuckled lightly, giving her hands a squeeze.

" You don't have to be so up-tight like you were in my brothers court; you're free here."

Kagome looked up at him shocked, which part of his statement she was shocked about she wasn't totally sure.

"Free?"

He nodded to her happily, and gently squeezed her hands again. Seeing as she wasn't about to reply, he decided to try to get a reaction out of her. He pulled her to him, and wrapped his arms around her lovingly. He felt her tense slightly, but she relaxed as he nuzzled her behind the ear.

He inhaled her scent, loving the smell of her. He began to kiss his way down her neck, smiling when he felt her shiver. When he got to the junction of her neck and shoulders, he lightly traced his tongue over it.

He gave her a little playful nip and she jumped out of surprise. He paused what he was doing, and looked up at her questioningly.

" Are you nervous?"

He asked, the worry in his voice evident. She looked at him shyly, and grasped his haori tighter, shaking her head no,

"I'm alright, keep going."

He smiled and nodded once in satisfaction. Again he began to trace kisses down her neck, and once he reached the junction of her neck, he began to lick it slowly. He retracted his tongue, and instead placed his lips on her heated skin.

He began to suck on it lightly, as if he was afraid she would break. She shivered again and clutched his haori, pulling herself closer and shutting her eyes. Her hands began to shake, and she thought her knees would give out any second. Again he stopped his ministrations to look at her with worry.

"What's wrong?"

He loosened his grip slightly so he could look at her more fully, his hands lightly tracing up her back to come grasp her shoulders. She looked up at him nervously,

"Nothing," she said with a shake of her head.

He grasped her shoulders tighter, his eyebrows knitted together,

" Something is wrong, I can tell."

She didn't look at him, he shook her slightly, just enough to get the point across.

"What is it?"

Her gaze drifted to the floor, and she blushed,

"I've never done this before."

Inuyasha was taken aback; he hadn't been expecting that answer. He suddenly felt bad for coming on to her like that, but he wanted her so badly it hurt. He began to feel an ache in his lower abdomen as he looked at her.

His eyes traced over her full pink lips, his mouth began to water a little. His gaze traveled down the expanse of her body, the robe she wore accentuated all her curves. He tried to imagine how beautiful she would be without the cloths obstructing his view.

He looked up to her face; she was looking down at the floor sadly, looking ashamed. He recollected his thoughts quickly,

"Well then, I'll just have to make your first time magical won't I?"

He smiled sweetly at her as her head snapped up in shock. She hadn't expected that, she had thought he would either make her leave, or find her immature at the least. She didn't know if she could trust him, how could someone be so kind? She had never met anyone even remotely like him.

Her thoughts shifted back to Inuyasha as he cupped her face in one of his hands, his eyes on her lips. She froze, not knowing what to do, was he going to kiss her? She hoped not, she didn't want to disappoint him, after all she was so inexperienced, actually, it would be her first kiss.

Inuyasha noticed how still she suddenly went and looked up to her questioningly. He saw the uncertainty in her eyes and smiled. She was so adorable, and he loved her even more for it.

" Your first kiss too?" he said with a slight hint of a chuckle.

She nodded, blushing furiously. He let go of her, his hands falling to his sides. She looked at him sadly, with a little shocked expression on her face. He sighed,

"Kagome, I wont make you do this if you don't want me to. You can leave whenever you feel like it."

Kagome couldn't think; had he just said what she thought he did? Why did she feel so sad? She looked at him; he had some of what seemed to be hope in his eyes, but very little.

When she didn't answer for a while, he nodded sullenly, and turned. He walked out onto the balcony, thinking that she had left. She watched him with curiosity, and smiled. He thought she was going to leave, he seemed so sad.

She made up her mind, and tentatively walked over to him. She wrapped her arms around his waist, closing her eyes and burying her face in his hair. She marveled at how soft it was, and how nice it smelled, like trees and earth, like a raging river, of thunder and lightning.

He smelled of strength, yet had a gentle smell to him all the same. His eyes opened in surprise, and he turned around to look at her. She looked up at him shyly; her arms still wrapped around him, and hid her face in his chest.

He hugged her to him tightly, and closed his eyes. He stroked her hair, and inhaled her relaxing scent. She was so beautiful, and he couldn't help but chuckle at how pure and innocent she was. She was so adorable as she snuggled into his chest. `Gods Kagome,' he thought, ` I think I'm in love with you.'

He was so overjoyed that she had not left him that he forgot all about the growing need in his lower abdomen, just enjoying holding her in his arms. He didn't know what had come over him, when he had first seen her, defending her friends, with no regards to her own life, something had ignited in him.

She had sparked his interest in a way no one else had ever done before, in a way no one else had even come close to. Ever since then, he had wanted her, wanted to make her happy, wanted to see her smile. He had watched her often from afar, trying to figure when to approach her, and how.

He loved everything she did, and every little movement made him want her more. Now that he held her in his arms, giving herself to him fully, all he wanted was to make everything perfect for her. She deserved the best, and he would be damned if he let anything happen to her ever again.

His hold tightened at the mere thought of what Sesshomaru could have done to her. He continued to stroke her raven hair, causing it to catch the rays of the sunset and sparkle brilliantly.

She snuggled into him more, causing her lower quarters to rub against his, and his need for her multiplied tenfold.

He slackened his hold slightly, and lifted her chin up with one of his hands. Her eyes seemed to trap his gaze, never letting it look at anything but her.

He found himself lost in their depths, her dark orbs lulling him into a trance like state. He looked into her eyes for a good five minutes before he finally decided to lean in a little more.

Her eyelids drooped on impulse and she leaned into him. His eyes closed completely, and he tilted his head slightly to the side. His arms came up and held onto her shoulders, while she placed her hands on his chest.

His mouth parted slightly, and he lowered it onto hers. She sighed into his mouth as she felt his soft, warm lips barely graze hers.

She wanted more contact; she tilted her chin up slightly, deepening the kiss. Inuyasha groaned passionately, and pressed his lips to hers as well.

His arms snaked their way under her arms and around her back. He rested one hand on her lower back, while the other went up and entangled itself in her hair.

He used this position to pull her closer to him. Inuyasha couldn't believe how wonderful Kagome tasted, she was like the nectar of life, and if he stopped now he would surely die, at least, that's what he thought.

As he pulled her closer, he felt her breasts push up against his chest, and had to suppress a groan.

He couldn't believe the feelings that she was sending through his body. It felt like he was on fire wherever she touched him; he didn't think he could describe all the sensations she invoked in him.

Wanting more, he pulled her closer, if it were at all possible. Kagome smiled into his mouth, and drew herself closer as well, wrapping her arms around his neck.

He began to rub her back lightly, his hand going back and forth in smooth, gentle motions. He traced her lower lip with his tongue, then ran it across her upper lip.

He probed lightly in the crevice between her lips, begging her for entrance, coaxing her to open to him fully. She complied on impulse, opening her lips to him slightly. He gently slipped his tongue inside, and she gasped into his mouth.

She couldn't help but let out a little satisfied sigh, it felt so wonderful. He caressed the inside of her mouth gently, lightly licking over anything and everything that he could reach.

He felt her tongue brush up against his, and suddenly wanted her to partake as well, we wanted to feel her tongue inside his mouth.

He ran over it lightly, barely skimming the top. Her tongue rose to get more contact, pushing against his. He rubbed her back with his hand lightly in a steady, gentle gesture.

His tongue continued to lightly rub against hers, and she continued to try to get more contact. Before she even realized that he had lured her tongue into his mouth, his began to move against hers in a rhythmic dance.

He entranced her, and she couldn't help but groan and he began to make love to her mouth, moving his tongue in and out in a steady movement, rubbing against hers, and trying to taste as much of her as possible.

He broke the kiss just as the last traces of the sun sank below the horizon, and gazed into her eyes, panting slightly. He smiled in contentment as he noticed how her eyes were glazed over, and loving that he was the one to cause it.

She looked at him, still shyly he noted, and blushed. Her gaze looked uncertain and he smiled reassuringly at her.

As he brought his lips down to hers again in the form of a soft, chaste kiss, and lifted her up bridal style, carrying her towards the bed, a single thought echoed in his mind.

`I'll wipe that uncertainty from your eyes Kagome…'
