InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Fire In His Eyes ❯ His Questions ( Chapter 4 )
Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha…BUT I'M MADLY IN LOVE WITH HIM!!!!!
AN: I'll be clearing a few things up here in case there was anything you were confused about ^_^. If there are any questions that I didn't answer you can email me at Saiyou_the_lover@hotmail.com.
Ok, first of all, this story is set in a time period where lords were entitled to have as many concubines or wives as they desired, and most were cruel and treated women like meat (I know I hate it too but that why I live portraying Inuyasha as such an awesome guy ^_^), so when he meets Kagome he isn't a virgin, but he didn't mistreat the women he made love to, and he had only done it a few times, unlike most lords back then who took advantage of the women almost every day.
Second, when he says `after all this time', he doesn't mean after the two days that he had rescued her from Sesshomaru's castle, but you'll find out details about that in either this chapter or the next one.
No, Kagome is not just some plaything like the others are, he actually cares for her at this point, but she isn't his mate yet, he is after all, half demon and so he had to choose a life mate by ways of exchanging blood, marking her, and creating a blood link. They also have to be compatible for a blood link but that's a little beside the point *_~. To mark her as a mate, he has to not only…erm…how do I say this without it sounding nasty…fertilize her I guess (sorry), but he has to mark her with her having full knowledge of the situation.
Houjo and Kouga come in later don't worry.
I've never really been sure about the whole Sesshomaru/Rin thing, I always thought he was just her father figure, even when she's "of age." But he doesn't really have anyone else to fall in love with as far as I know other than Kagome, and her and Inuyasha are in love!!!!! KAGOME AND INUYASHA FOREVER!!!!!
Inuyasha already has other concubines at the castle, but only a few, and not all are for him. The soldiers and right hand man and all that crap have them, but the women gets to choose if they want to go with a specific man or not.
Even though the women have way more freedom than they did in Sesshomaru's care, they are still concubines, and they can't be set free very easily because, well, men back then (and lets face it, these days too) were greedy and they would revolt or make a scene, and if one concubine was freed then the rest would want to and that would all be a big mess. So the girls are still concubines, and have a certain duty to uphold, they have to sleep with a man of their choice at least once, or they would be considered ungrateful because Inuyasha saved them.
Most of the questions or loose ends will be answered in later chapters, but if I overlook something just email me (^up there^), or put it in a review ^_^. Ah yes, reviews are very good things.
Wow…lots of questions…sorry about that! The chapter will be just as long as usual so don't worry! One more thing: I'd like you all to meet Kirby!
(>'')>Yay! Go Kirby go! Go Kirby go! <(''<) Teeheehee, my friend showed me that and I just had to pay it tribute!!!
On with the show…erm…story…fanfic…whatever!!!!!
The Fire In His Eyes
~*~*~*~
Inuyasha awoke bathed in sunlight, creating a warm glowing sensation that spread throughout his entire body. He never knew sunlight could be so warm. As he moved to get into a more comfortable position, he noticed a weight on his chest, and looked down to see Kagome resting peacefully, not yet awoken from her slumber. All the memories of the night before came rushing back to him, and he blushed slightly.
He looked back down at her, not believing she was actually there with him. It all felt like a dream, he had wanted her for so long, now she was finally his. Well, not totally his, but he would change that soon enough. He wondered how she felt about him. She was so adorable when she slept, her eyes fluttering lightly with every intake of breath, her mouth pulled up into a slight smile, her beautiful raven hair spilling over himself and her, contrasting with the paleness of her beautiful skin, as well as his own silver locks.
He broke his trance from her sleeping face to gaze out the window again. How would he ask her to be his? Would she even accept him? Would she run away? He didn't think he could stand the thought of her leaving now, after what they had done last night…His thoughts were interrupted as Kagome began to stir awake. His gaze switched back to her just as her eyes were opening.
It took her a moment to register what was going on. She felt warm, and something solid was wrapped around her waist and back, and she felt…complete. She felt a little soar in her lower regions, but the rest of her was extremely relaxed. She opened her eyes, and looked around. The first thing she saw was a pair of warm, golden eyes staring back at her. `Inuyasha…' She blushed just at the thought of his name.
All she could do as she stared transfixed into his eyes was blush. As she continued to stare, his smile grew. His arms tightened around her, and he pulled her up so that her face was level with his. He gently leaned up and placed a chaste kiss to her lips. She melted into his arms, and he couldn't help but smile triumphantly. It felt so good to be like this, his arms around her, her naked body against him, their lips locked together passionately, his…
It was then he realized that he hadn't pulled out of her all night. Not that he was complaining; it was probably one of the main things that helped him sleep so well. As he broke the kiss, he slowly pulled out of her, causing her to whimper and throw her head back. He grimaced, `She must be sore,' he though, `Oh, Kagome…'
Kagome was lost in his kiss, until she felt him begin to pull out. Not only was she sore, but she began to feel empty as soon as he began to leave. She didn't want the feelings to end; she wanted to experience this completeness just a little longer. She tried to make him stop by whimpering, but he just paused for a moment and continued.
After he finished pulling out all the way, he flipped her over so they were both on their sides. He kissed her on the forehead lightly, and leant his head down to whisper comforting things into her ear. She wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in the crook of his neck. He pulled away from her slightly to look her in the eye.
" Good morning beautiful." He said, his gaze never leaving her eyes.
Kagome blushed; no one had ever called her beautiful…not really.
"Morning." She mumbled quietly.
Inuyasha just beamed at her. His smile waned a little when he noticed the sad look in her eyes.
"What's wrong? Did I hurt you?" He asked quietly.
She looked up at him, a tint of red on her cheeks, and shook her head lightly.
"I just feel a little…empty now."
Inuyasha smiled down at her again, and tightened his hold on her. He rested his forehead on hers, locking gazes with her.
"Don't you worry, we can fix that later."
Kagome's blush tripled, and she looked down sheepishly, a small, embarrassed smile on her face. Inuyasha laughed and gave her a last kiss on the tip of her nose, before letting go and rolling to the side. He sat up at the edge of the bed, and turned back to her.
"We better get dressed and go downstairs," he said.
She nodded, and began to get up herself. He watched as she slipped from beneath the covers, thinking again about how beautiful she was. He continued to stare at her the entire time as she dressed, admiring every feature about her. He smiled again, hoping to wake up to the same thing every morning. His smile faltered as he thought about that. She might not accept him…what would he do if she denied him? His thoughts were temporarily interrupted as she stood in front of him, her hands on her hips in an authoritative position.
"You're not going to walk around in nothing but your skin are you?" She scolded.
He smiled up at her rebelliously.
" And what if I am?"
She gave him an exasperated sigh, before walking around him to pick up his clothes. He was about to sneak up on her and wrap his arms around her waist when he felt his cloths flung in his face.
"Put those on, I'm going to go find Sango alright?" She asked sweetly, as if knowing she already won.
He pulled his shirt away from his face; a pant leg still drooped over his head.
"I don't want to." He pouted teasingly, surprisingly like a child.
She crossed her arms over her chest and pouted right back at him.
"Then I'll be forced to call you Your Highness." She threatened.
He pulled the offending pant leg from between his ears, huffed, and began to dress. She smiled triumphantly at him, and with a last shy smile, departed, leaving him to his own thoughts.
~*~*~*~
Kagome found Sango outside on a bench, talking to Miroku, who had a red handprint clearly on his face. She sat down next to Sango, forcing her to scoot a little closer to Miroku. Sango turned to Kagome.
"Oh my gosh! Kagome! Miroku told me everything!" She paused to give Kagome a devilish look. "How was it?"
Kagome blushed a deep maroon.
" Well, it depends; do you mean in general? Or compared to you and Miroku?" She asked, turning the tides on Sango.
Sango began to stutter and invented a new shade of red. Miroku just smiled and gave Kagome a thumbs-up sign over Sango's shoulder.
"W-we didn't!" Sango stuttered.
Kagome looked at her unbelievingly.
" Well seemed you guys wanted to to me!" She said before running off.
Sango shrieked and began to chase after her, leaving Miroku alone on the bench with a silly grin on his face. Sango chased her around the entire courtyard at least five times before Kagome ran towards the front doors of the castle. `Oh no you don't!' Sango thought. She redoubled her efforts and ran faster after Kagome.
As Kagome was about to run inside, Inuyasha appeared in the doorway rounding the corner just as she was to the door, and the two were forced to come skidding to a halt. Kagome stopped just in time, her body only centimeters away from his, and she smiled sheepishly at him. Sango didn't stop fast enough, and stumbled into Kagome, who was thrown forward into Inuyasha. Inuyasha just smiled and held her to him. After all, who was he to complain if he was getting a chance to hold Kagome?
Sango quickly jumped off the ground where she had landed, rushing over to Inuyasha and Kagome to try and dust them off.
" I'm so sorry Milord! I-I didn't mean to! It was an accident please forgive me!" She started freaking out and kneeled on the ground in front of his feet.
Inuyasha scowled in annoyance, but was stopped by Kagome squeezing his arm. She gave him a devilish look, and Inuyasha nodded in agreement. He crossed his arms in front of his chest, and placed a fake scowl on his face. Looking down at Sango over his nose, he barked out at her angrily,
" What the hell do you think your doing? Running around playing in MY courtyard, I'll have your head for that!"
Sango cringed on the ground, her eyes wide and shaking. Kagome giggled, and Inuyasha smiled.
"Look at me when I'm talking to you wench!"
Sango flinched, but looked up at Inuyasha, tears beginning to stream down her face. As her sight set on the smiling Inuyasha, and the giggling Kagome behind him, trying desperately to hold in her laughter, Sango's face turned beet red. Kagome had gotten her good. She rose to her feet slowly, her fists shaking in anger. Kagome noticed this and flinched, hiding behind Inuyasha for protection. Inuyasha chuckled, looking between the two friends with glee.
" KAGOME!!!!! I'M GONNA KILL YOU!!!!!"
"I didn't mean it Sango!!! Come on it was a joke!!!"
"I'LL SHOW YOU A JOKE!!!!! DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW SCARED I WAS!?!? I THOUGHT HE WAS SERIOUSE, IT WAS LIKE SESSHOMARU ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!!"
Inuyasha laughed as he watched the two fiery females chase each other around the yard, strangling each other and yelling in the others face. Miroku, also chuckling, made his way over to Inuyasha's side. He laughed as Sango pulled on Kagome's hair. He turned to Inuyasha, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
" So what do you think Inuyasha?"
Inuyasha turned to him, an eyebrow raised. He turned his sights back on Sango, who was now yelling in Kagome's face, and smiled.
" I think you made a good choice Miroku."
Miroku just smiled in response, and went back to watching the two girls play fight. Inuyasha and Miroku just stood there for a while, watching the women play cat and mouse and laughing when they did something humorous. Suddenly, Kagome, who had previously been running around the courtyard garden with Sango on her heels, ran towards Inuyasha.
His eyes became wide as she ran towards him. Was she running in his direction on purpose? He didn't have much more time to think as she ran into his arms, grasping onto him as if he were a lifeline, which he probably was. Sango stopped in her tracks, not knowing if she should rip her friend from the Lord's arms or not. She decided to let the matter drop when she noticed Miroku smiling devilishly at her. She sighed, knowing she would never live it down.
Inuyasha's eyes were still wide open, wondering why she had run into his arms. As she nuzzled into his chest, he realized he didn't care, and just wrapped his arms around her in return. She indeed was amazing, making him feel this way so easily. He held her tighter, and she melted into him. He wanted to ask her now, but knew it was to soon. He didn't want to scare her. She sighed happily, and he placed his nose in the crook of her neck, nuzzling her.
Kagome bent her head to the side, allowing him better access. He sent a small trail of kisses down her neck, and she shivered. Inuyasha was just getting lost in her scent when a resounding slap sounded throughout the courtyard. Screaming and yelling was then heard, shattering any peace around the little garden that once existed.
Inuyasha looked down at Kagome, who was laughing lightly at the sight of Sango chasing Miroku around the courtyard instead of her. Inuyasha sighed, knowing there was no way Kagome was ready for that kind of step. No matter how badly he wanted to at the moment, he knew she would need some time away from him first. Giving his beloved one last kiss on the forehead, he departed saying he had business to attend to.
~*~*~*~
Inuyasha sighed, it had been two weeks since Kagome had shared his bed with him, and he missed her. He had decided to spend some time away from her so she could adapt to life in the castle properly, and because he knew it was to soon to ask her…
Inuyasha sat on his bed, trying to remember how good Kagome looked under its sheets. He tried to clear such thoughts from his head, but her voice seemed to be echoing everywhere around him. Finally, the warm sunlight tempted him enough to get up from the bed, and walk onto his balcony. He sighed again, remembering how he had shared his first kiss with Kagome here. He looked to the sky, he had fallen for her, and he had fallen hard.
Trying to rid his thoughts of her, he turned his gaze downward to the courtyard. Fate had a cruel sense of humor, for right then Inuyasha saw Kagome talking the Sango on what they had established as their own little bench. The breath caught in his throat, she was even more stunning then usual, and for him that was saying something. She was wearing her normal robe, but the sunlight seemed to dance off of it more than usual. Her dark raven hair glistened in the evening light, and the day's warm glow seemed to make her pale skin even creamier then before.
Inuyasha gulped, he wanted to be with her so badly. Two weeks was enough wasn't it? He didn't think so, but he wanted to be with her right then. He had just about made up his mind to go back into his room when he saw Sango look up at him. She smiled warmly at him, and nudged Kagome in the ribs, pointing in his direction. Inuyasha waved his hands back and forth in an effort to get his message across. Sango was going to ruin everything!
Kagome, looked to where Sango was pointing, and he abruptly halted his actions. `Here it goes,' he thought. He just knew Kagome was going to cry, or yell at him, or something. He felt ashamed; he never wanted to see her cry. He wasn't expecting it in the slightest when she smiled warmly up at him, and waved shyly. Inuyasha was taken aback, she wasn't mad? After he had taken her virginity and then avoided her for two whole weeks?
He quickly recovered and waved back to her, his trademark smirk on his face. He noticed with pride that this made Kagome blush slightly. His heart soared when she motioned for him to come down and join them, and he nodded in acceptance. With a parting wave he quickly made his way through the castle towards the courtyard.
When he finally got there Sango had left apparently to leave them alone, Though Inuyasha noted that Miroku was no where to be found either. And there she was, like an angel as she sat there staring at him, the sunlight playing off her locks and skin, making it seem like she was glowing. Inuyasha was mesmerized by her beauty, and couldn't help but stare. A pink tint appeared on her cheeks and he smiled at her.
She scooted over on the bench and patted the spot next to her, motioning him to sit down with her. He smiled at her again, and steadily made his way over to her. He sat down next to her, purposefully closer than need be, leaving a good foot of the bench empty. Kagome just gave him a sheepish smile and rested her head on his shoulder. Inuyasha was slightly stunned. She wasn't mad at him in the least? He brushed it aside, figuring that if Kagome didn't want to be mad at him he wasn't going to stop her.
As he leant his head down on top of hers she stirred. He looked down at her and caught her eye, which was staring at him curiously now. She linked her arm with his, and sat up to look at him.
" I haven't seen you very much lately." She said with a hint of sadness in her voice.
Inuyasha looked away guiltily, she didn't seem to notice he had purposefully been avoiding her, but on the other hand that was probably better. He reached over and grasped her hand lightly.
" I know, I've had a lot of business to attend to around this place," he said indication to the castle, " But I finally have a break now." He said, squeezing her hand lightly.
Kagome just smiled at him in return and leaned into him more. Inuyasha was enjoying the close proximity from her. He was going crazy controlling himself. He needed to ask her soon or he would go insane!
" I missed you." He said nuzzling into her neck.
Kagome blushed, the heat rising into her cheeks, and buried her face in his hair, nuzzling him back.
" I missed you too." Kagome said dreamily.
Inuyasha entwined his fingers in hers, looking at how small her hand was compared to his. He liked the look of her hand in his. With one last kiss to her neck he withdrew from her slightly so as to look into her eyes. He had to fight not to get lost in her stormy gray depths as he stared into them. He needed to ask her…he needed her to say yes…
His broke his daze to intake breath, he couldn't ask her here, there were to many people, and he wanted to ask her somewhere private. Everything had to be perfect. He got up, and offered her his hand, which she accepted gratefully.
" Then why don't we take advantage of the time I have off?" He asked her sweetly.
Kagome interpreted what he said the wrong way and blushes furiously. She felt guilty for wanting him so badly, but he had made her first time so special, what was probably the best night of her life, and then she hadn't seen him for two weeks. She craved more of him, her body wanting him to invoke those sensations in her again. Whenever she saw him her body would go crazy like no other, and though she was ashamed, she welcomed the feelings pooling at the apex of her thighs.
Inuyasha noticed her blush and chuckled. He leaned in so his lips were right next to her ear, and whispered into it huskily, causing Kagome to shiver.
" Not in that way Kagome…" He whispered.
Kagome looked up at him in confusion, which quickly changed to disappointment, of which she hid from him as best she could. She blushed again at her own mistake, but smiled again when she noticed him smiling down at her. She slapped him lightly on the arm playfully. He laughed and picked her up bridal style.
" I'll show you what I really meant." He said teasing her.
She giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck, snuggling closer to him. She fought to suppress a groan as his hand slid up her thigh lightly to grasp her under her knees. She pulled her body as tightly to his as possible as he raced off towards the stables. As they arrived he put her down gently, as if he was afraid she would break if he handled her to roughly.
" Why are we at the stables Inuyasha?" She asked innocently.
Inuyasha turned to her, one arm still around her shoulders.
" We're going to go on a horse ride." He said as if it were obvious.
Kagome pouted at him.
" I meant why are we here if I'm not allowed to leave the castle grounds." She said.
He smiled proudly down at her, and hugged her to him.
" You can leave if I give you permission to." He whispered into her ear.
Kagome just giggled and hugged him back. He released her, and disappeared into the stables. He soon emerged, leading a white horse towards her. He tied the rope to a post, securing it. Inuyasha then turned to her, and placed his hands on her hips, lifting her off the ground with ease and placing her on the back end of the saddle. He then jumped on in front of her without even needing the saddle rings.
Kagome felt her body flare with heat from the close contact. She moved up the saddle a little so as to be closer to him, and wrapped her arms around his chest, snaking them under his arms. Inuyasha let forth a deep grown as her hands roamed over the contours of his body. Kagome moaned softly as she felt the vibrations of his growl transfer through his back to gently massage her breasts.
Inuyasha smiled to himself when he heard her moan, and amplified his growl slightly. He smiled proudly as he heard his love sigh in happiness, and rest her head on his shoulder. Her hands continued to rub against his stomach and chest, and he relaxed against her slightly, closing his eyes and concentrating on the feelings she was invoking in him. He continued to growl in appreciation and her ministrations began to go lower, whether or not she was doing it deliberately he didn't know.
He snapped out of his trance; he had to ask her. Without giving Kagome any notice, he flicked the reins, sending the gelding into a slow trot (if you've ever ridden a horse, a trot is pretty bumpy). Kagome wasn't prepared for the horse to begin moving, and had to hang on to Inuyasha tighter to stay on. He just let out a deep growl to soothe her, keeping his hands on the reins.
Inuyasha turned to her slightly, so she could see half his face. She looked at him questioningly.
" Would you mind closing your eyes love?" He asked gently.
She took on a puzzled look before speaking.
" Why?" She asked.
" Because I want where I'm taking you to be a surprise." He said, smiling at her.
She just smiled at him gently, and nodded before closing her eyes and leaning up against his back, her arms tightening their hold around him. As they rode on, Inuyasha couldn't help his mind drifting into thoughts about the lightly dozing woman behind him. He still couldn't believe she was there, with him.
He just hoped she wouldn't leave him after that day…after what he was going to ask her. Should he even ask her now? They had only been together for a little while, and she didn't seem to remember him at all before the rescue at Sesshomaru's castle a few weeks ago. He sighed; did she really not remember him? He mentally chided himself; why would she? He had only talked to her a few times.
The path became steeper, and Inuyasha had to concentrate on the road. Kagome just held him tighter, and giggled when his hair tickled her face. They continued on for about an hour, the entire journey going uphill. Kagome wondered where on Earth he could be taking her. The path leveled out a little, and Inuyasha's mind was free to roam once again. He tried to think about what to say once they got there. Should he just get to the point, or make small talk until he felt ready?
Before his mind could drift any further, the horse stopped, and he looked down to see that it had stopped at the waters edge. They were at the lake. He turned around in the saddle and gently grasped Kagome's shoulders as he slid off, so she wouldn't fall forward.
" Keep your eyes closed." He said gently.
Kagome just smiled at him, and kept her eyes sealed tightly shut. Inuyasha's hands came around her waist and helped her off the geldings back. She held his hand tightly as he led her to the waters edge. He stood at her back, and wrapped his arms around her from behind.
" Alright, you can open your eyes now." He whispered sensually in her ear.
Kagome's eyelashes fluttered open, and she gazed out at the scenery in front of her. She let out a gasp at the sight; it was so beautiful! The lake they were standing in front of was up high on a grassy plateau, which overlooked the entire kingdom, and the forest beyond it. The ride had taken at least an hour. It had been late evening when they set out, and the sun was just now setting below the horizon.
Kagome marveled at how the pink and purple shades of the setting sun dances alone the waters surface, and the suns dark glow seemed to make the kingdom below them come to life. Flowers grew around all the edges of the lake, and the sunset just magnified their color. In short, Kagome had never seen anything so beautiful in all her life.
Inuyasha heard her hasp and saw the look on her face, and smiled. The scenery around them wasn't nearly as beautiful unless his Kagome was there, smiling at it. He saw a long tear slide down her cheek, and gently turned her around, wiping it away with his thumb. He looked into her eyes, and he saw himself in their glassy surfaces. He just thought she looked all the more beautiful, but he never wanted to see her cry.
When she didn't say anything, the silence started to weigh heavily on his shoulders, and he went to ask what was wrong.
"Thank you." Kagome managed to choke out, before her lips rose up to meet his.
Inuyasha's eyes widened in shock at first, but responded to the kiss and she added more pressure. He felt moisture pressing against his cheek, and knew that she was crying again. He wanted to wipe them away, but her arms just wove around his neck and held him to her. His arms came up around her middle, and did the same. His tongue traces her lips, and she gladly granted him entrance, sucking his tongue into her mouth and brushing hers against it.
He melted into her, loving everything about her and more. He held her as tightly as he possible could, and tried to memorize her taste. He felt the tears again, and it tore at him.
`She should never cry.' He thought almost groggily.
It took almost all his restraint, but he pulled away from her, and looked down at her tear-stricken face. The pads of his thumbs skimmed over her face, erasing any trace of tears that once existed. She looked up at him as he cradled her face in his hands, and nuzzled into his palm. Inuyasha tilted her head up towards him, and gave her a searching look.
" Why the tears Kagome?" He asked worriedly.
She gave him a light smile before responding.
" It's just so beautiful, thank you." She said softly to him.
He smiled back.
" Anything for you." He whispered back, all the more softly.
He led her over to a large rock, and lifted her up onto it, jumping up next to her. Her eyes never left his face and he sat down by her side. He looked at the sun, halfway below the horizon.
" I didn't agree just because of my debt to you."
He turned a confused look on her.
" What?"
She shifted so she was facing him.
" I didn't share your bed that night because of my debt." She stated.
Inuyasha stared at her. Did that mean she remembered him? What was she getting at? He smiled lightly at her.
" Then why did you share my bed Kagome?"
Kagome blushed, and looked at her hands, which she clasped together shyly.
" Because you were so sweet, and I wanted to. Not just because of your body or my obligations either. I just, feel safe around you, and I can't explain it." She stated nervously.
His expression fell. She didn't remember…
" And I've felt like I've known you forever already…"
His head snapped up a little, and he looked at her.
" Kagome…do you remember anything about me? About that day?" He asked, almost desperately.
Kagome looked at him questioningly.
" What do you mean Inuyasha? What day?" She breathed.
So she didn't remember anything. He couldn't ask her now. She had to know the whole truth about her past, about THEIR past, before they could take suck a step. His eyes searched hers, before he set his expression, and took the plunge.
" Do you remember anything about the day you died?" He choked.
