Chapter 7

Last Time: She slowly opened her eyes, and over top of her she could see the God Tree, swaying towards her, as if it was whispering to her. She rolled on to her side and started coughing up the remaining blood from her throat on to her hands and to the ground, clearing the way for the precious air for her lungs. In an instant Inuyasha was at her side waiting for her to give the signal she could speak.

 

She looked up to Inuyasha and Sango, both taken back by the sight of her, covered in blood, some still flowing from her mouth, dripping off her chin.

 

“I want to meet these so called forgotten sisters.” She hissed.

 

 

Kagome slowly stood; her eyes flickered between Inuyasha, Sango and the God Tree. She wiped her face of the remaining blood, and began to stumble over to the ancient tree.

 

“K..Kagome?” Inuyasha spoke with a flush of concern as he watched her stumble in her first steps.

 

“Hang on Inuyasha.” Kagome spoke softly and she locked her eyes on the tree. There was no breeze and yet it swayed gently towards her. Sango finally took note of this and softly gasped as she watched Kagome walk over to the tree. Inuyasha slowly trailed behind her as she completed her walk over to the Goshinboku.

 

Inuyasha watched as Kagome extended her hand and touched the tree. He could feel the wave of energy released from her, climbing up the tree, reaching to the ends of its branches. Then right before their eyes, the tree instantly bloomed. Soft white blooms began to grow and open, the trees whispers could be heard on the wind, only it was speaking to Kagome.

 

`Pure light, bond them, unite them, and bring them into me.'

 

Inuyasha flicked his ears around only listening; he could hear the soft whispers but couldn't make the words. He watched as Kagome nodded to the tree and rested her forehead on the rough bark. Suddenly she opened her eyes and turned to Inuyasha.

 

“Let's go see Sesshomaru, he knows something and he's not telling us, I need that knowledge before I do anything.” Kagome spoke as she gave him a quick knowing smile.

 

*Later at Sesshomaru's Mansion*

 

“Oi! Sesshomaru, you damn lazy bastard, answer your door before I tear it down!” Inuyasha bellowed at the huge front doors of the mansion.

 

“Inuyasha” Kagome said with a warning tone in her voice. “Wench be quiet for once, you've nearly died because of these psycho sisters and he knows about them. Don't shush me till we get the damn answers.” He spoke harshly at her until she was pinned against the doors. Suddenly they swung open and Kagome fell backwards with an `eep' and landed right on top of Jaken.

 

“Get off of me you silly human! You're worse than Rin!” Jaken yelled at Kagome from underneath of her. Kagome scrambled to get off of him and pressed herself against Inuyasha mumbling about gross toads and hot baths.

 

“Oi, toad where's my bastard brother?” Inuyasha snorted at him. “Lord Sesshomaru is in the main library and has asked me to guide you there so you don't get lost and rub your stench all over everything.” Jaken responded haughtily. Before Inuyasha could do any damage to the small toad youkai, Kagome responded, “Thank you Jaken, and please lead the way.” “Hrmph!” was all that was heard as Jaken turned on his heel and began to lead the way.

 

Inuyasha took in all the sounds and smells of the mansion, both his ear flicked around like they had a nervous habit of their own. Kagome held onto his jacket sleeve for reassurance, not sure if she wanted to find out all the information on the forgotten sisters of the western lands. Something wasn't right about their stories. Kagome could sense it.

 

By the time they reached the library Kagome was on edge and Inuyasha was ready to lash out at any sound. Jaken opened the double doors to the library where they found Sesshomaru looking over a few very old books. He looked up from his reading and nodded for Jaken to leave.

 

“Half breed.”

“Bastard.”

 

Typical greeting for the brothers. “Umm, Sesshomaru, I know you haven't old us all about these sisters but I need to know everything you know.” Kagome stated carefully. “And why is this miko, this is family knowledge and far as I can tell, you have yet to accept my brother request to become his mate.” He stated icily. Inuyasha growled loudly.

 

“While you, oh great lord,” Inuyasha stated mockingly, “were playing peek - a - boo with Rin, Shinwa attacked Kagome again, only thing that saved her this time was Mikomi. While I don't like this particular route of strategy, Kagome needs to know the information so we can fight.”

 

Sesshomaru looked over the pair and finally conceded. He stood and walked to the door way of the library. “Miko, all the information you will need is in those four volumes of our family history. Read them all, and take in every detail, you will need it.

 

Kagome nodded as Sesshomaru walked out of the library, and then she turned and walked to the desk, sat down and opened the first volume of series. Inuyasha walked over to the bay window and sat on the cushions, started flipping though the closest book and sighed.

 

Kagome glanced over at Inuyasha giving in a weary glance and thought, `this is going to take awhile.'

 

 

AN - well let's see, I will take my time with updating all my stories seeing as how I don't get any reviews, so I write for myself when it strikes. Don't like it, then deal with it or review.
