A couple stood on the near end of the cliff, the sun setting in the horizon and the wind swaying slightly.
“Kagome, I swear I wont let anything happen to you. I love you. I'll come back I swear.”
“Inu.... InuYasha please just don't go in the first place, please....”
“Kagome... I have to I'll come back I swear” he said placing a chaste kiss on her lips and walking away

“Kagome... Kagome! Hey are you listening to me? Kagome!!” Sango said waving her hand in Kagome's face.
“Sorry sis I spaced out I guess”
“Nervous?”
“What about the wedding? Why should I be? Its not like I was left to marry some guy I don't even know?”
“Kagome...”
“No Sango you cant help anyway, InuYasha left me four years ago and mom wants me to marry Kouga. I have to, I can't back out of this”
“You can always tell them the wedding is off”
“So I can what? Spend the rest of my life praying InuYasha comes back to me? So that I'll have my night in shining armor like all those child hood fairytales? Sango I can't live my life being that naïve”
“I'm sorry”
“Me too” Kagome replied as she walked back into the small bathroom to finish her make up.

“Kagome, I want you to meet Kouga, your fiancé.”
“My what?!!!”
“Your fiancé dear”
“Who said I was getting married?”
“Well sweetie he's a really sweet guy, you'll learn to love him... I just don't want you to spend your life waiting for something that will never happen”
“Oh.. so your saying InuYasha is never coming back for me?!?!” Kagome replied in hysterics
“Kagome, that's not what I meant.....”
“SHUT UP..... just shut up.... I know he's never coming back.....” Kagome said running out of the room.

`How did she sucker me into this?' Kagome thought silently to herself as she focused on the mirror in front of her. A fake smile was plastered on her usually cheery face `when did I become so fake?' she turned and looked out into the small room where Kouga and Ayame were sitting. Koga leaned in a placed a small kiss on Ayame's lips.
“I can't do this...... I can't..... I can't live knowing I'm not happy. And live with some man who will ....will cheat on me” She said grabbing the small napkin and a pen ...
 
“Dear Sis,
Sango I know you said fairytales aren't real, but what about the gothic bride? That one is real, at least to me. I swore as a child I would never be like her, but look at me know, crying so hard my mascara is running down my face, I don't look like a bride I look like a heartbroken fool- which is technically what I am. Tell Kouga I am sorry and mom that I couldn't live a lie. I'll be watching over you oh and tell InuYasha I'll see him in hell.

“That ought to do it” Kagome said placing the note on the dresser. She climbed out the window and ran down the long dirt path in the woods, leading up to the cliff where he had left her so long ago.

InuYasha walked into the chapel a few moments after the wedding should have started.
Everything was quite, he silently prayed he wasn't to late. Looking around the chapel he saw everyone had left, his shoulders slumped and he bowed his head. `I knew it... I'm to late'
He was about to leave when he heard crying in the bathroom.
 
“Sango...” he said opening the small door.
 
Sango looked up with sadness in her eyes ,shortly lived, followed by anger and hatred. She grabbed the small wooden box from the counter and threw it at InuYasha's head. InuYasha barely missed, he turned around to see what it had been only to have an object actually hit him in the face when he turned back around.
“WHAT THE...”
He was instantly shut up when Sango's fist connected with his jaw.
“I hope you burn” she said with such coldness that it would have made winter look like the Sahara desert.
“You killed my little sister! It's all you fault!!” Sango screamed bursting into hysterics once more.
“What are you talking about?”
“You left her four years ago, mother found her a fiancé and was forced to marry him now she is ending up like the gothic bride.... you got here to late”
“So you sent me the invite”
“Yea I thought if she saw you she could cancel the wedding but she thought...” Sango paused for a moment and her voice softened “she thought you still loved her, now she's gone”
Sango held up the small note for InuYasha to read. He had no sooner set the note down when he ran.

“KAGOME........KAGOME...........KAGO---me” his voiced quivered when he saw her staring over the cliff into the jagged valley below.
Her white wedding gown was torn at the bottom and was flowing slightly in the breeze, her ebony locks framed her face and fluttered freely.
“Kagome.....?”
“It's ironic isn't it?”
“What is? Kagome what are you talking about?”
“I became the thing I swore I'd never be.”
“And what's that Kagome?”
 
Kagome turned around in one swift move, her dress didn't even have time to react at how swiftly she moved. Her head was hung low and her bangs covered her eyes.
 
“Kagome, look at me”
 
She raised her head, her eyes held no emotion other then pain, her mascara was smudged and ruined beyond repair streaking down towards her cheeks- result of her crying.
 
“What is it that you've become?” he asked frightened and worried
“I became her, the one my mother always read about. I became the gothic bride.”
“I'm sorry, what?”
 
Kagome took in a deep breath.
 
“Once upon a time, a long time ago, there was a woman who fell in love with a man from the nearing town. She was beautiful and perfect in every way, and he was perfect he was a rebel and broke every law just to be with her.” Kagome let a small sarcastic laugh
“That was the only part of the tale I wish I had. But anyway, she was forced into an arranged marriage because her parents didn't want her to see the rebel anymore.”
 
Kagome let a single tear fall.
 
“What happened?”
 
“She ran out to the cliff behind her house the night of her wedding”
 
“No”
 
“She looked over the valley and laughed silently as she focused on the fate that would soon take her soul”
 
“Kagome. Stop”
 
“She waited but he never showed up, she hoped he would come to stop her”
 
“Kagome I'm here. I can stop you”
 
“She finally jumped, she didn't die immediately though. She was still alive for a few minutes, her body mangled and her blood seeped around her. She could here footsteps coming but she closed her eyes. He screamed her name and she realized the rebel had been there all along.
InuYasha you were supposed to be that rebel, but just as the story goes, you came to late.”
 
“But there's one difference Kagome. You are still alive, I can save you”
 
“No you can't”
 
“Why?”
 
“Because you already left me and I already died inside. My heart stopped beating the day you left me, I'm just a walking shell. A shadow of my former self. InuYasha let it go. I have”
 
And with that she held her arms out and let herself fall freely over the edge.
 
“KAGOMEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!” he screamed falling to his knees letting his tears fall freely.
 
Kagome laid on the cold valley floor, her blood seeping around her. Her head lay to the side as her last thoughts came to mind.
 
“This wasn't supposed to be my fairytale.”
