“Sota, what in the world happened to your eye?” Kagome asked looking at it with great disbelief as she was treating his eye “i-it, it's… at purple as a plum!” She stated dipping a cloth in ice cold water and placing it over Sota's eye.
As she dabbed lightly over Sota's eye, Sota squirmed and decided not to talk, trying not to make a big deal of what Kagome was looking at, “i-it's nothing…” he said sheepishly not looking directly at Kagome once she finished with his eye.
“That black eye of yours ain't `nothing' as you put it,” InuYasha commented leaning against the wall, watching Kagome dab lightly on Sota's eye.
Sota looked up at InuYasha and then looked away again, embarrassed that InuYasha, his role model- his idol was there watching Kagome finish up treating to his eye.
Kagome took another few last light dabs over Sota's. Once she finished, she lightly touched his face and looked into to his eyes to see if she could read his thoughts- she got nothing.
“…Sota…” Kagome said gently, “who did this to you?” she then asked with a sharp tone in her voice.
Sota squirmed out of Kagome's reach as he got off from the chair he had been sitting on since he got back from school so that Kagome could tend to his bruised eye, “no one did this to me okay?” Sota replied getting slightly annoyed- he didn't want to get into it.
“W-what do you mean `no one' did this to you? Of course someone did! Who did it and why?” Kagome responded getting angry.
“I'm telling you that no one did this to me!” Sota said as he made his way out the dining room “… I fell…”
“Sota!” Kagome yelled, “You don't expect me to believe that you got a black eye from falling do you?” She got up from where she sat, “Why won't you tell me who did this to you? Why are you lying?”
“I'm not lying!” Sota blurted, “I'm telling you that no one did this to me! I just fell, end of story!” Sota said as he walked out of out of the dining room and up the stares to his room.
Kagome watched him go until he was out of site and then heard the door slam. Kagome clenched her teeth, frustrated with her brother- of all the nerve! She wasn't going to let Sota off the hook that easily, she needed to know who did that to her younger brother and why!
“No one messes with my brother and gets away with it!” Kagome thought angrily as she was going to make her way up the stairs to her brothers room, “Sota-,”
“Kagome,” InuYasha called her name calmly.
“Huh?” Kagome stopped and turned, she had almost forgotten that InuYasha had been there the whole time, “I-InuYasha-,”
“Don't,” InuYasha said, “leave him, I'm sure he'll come and talk to us whenever he is ready to…” he said as he walked passed Kagome and made his way up the stairs to Kagome's bedroom.
Kagome just stood there as she watched the half demon too make his way up the stairs until he was also too out of sight. “InuYasha…” she thought. Her shoulders then sagged, tired as she had realized that she too had to mend her arm as well. She then turned and made her way to the bathroom to get some bandages for her arm.

“Welcome back Tani,” Naraku had said.
Tani had found herself standing right infront of Naraku once again as she went on her knees and bowed before him, giving him the respect as her lord. The last she had stood before him, she was in her human state because the night of the full moon had come and Tani took in the form of a human and stayed as a human for a full day. During that day, Tani had gone out of Naraku's castle, escorted by Kagura and Kohaku for fresh air since the toxic like air in the castle was too stifling for her mortal body at the time.
On her small adventure out of Naraku's castle, with Kohaku by her side, Tani and Kohaku had gathered themselves apples and ate most of them up until they had gotten full. Tani had then made new friends who lived in an orphanage not to far from where Tani and Kohaku stayed out. Little did Tani's new friends know, she was a half demon but she was in her human form so her friends had no idea that demon blood coursed through Tani's veins. Sadly, Tani's period of weakness had ended and thus returning to her half demon form. Before the villagers could see her true form as a half demon, Tani fled from the village without saying goodbye to her friends. Kagura had then arrived and taken both Kohaku and Tani back to Naraku's castle.
“Did you enjoy yourself outside of this castle?” Naraku asked.
Tani who was still bowed her head slowly lifted it and then nodded, “yes… thank you Naraku.” She finally replied.
Naraku smiled.
Kagura who was still in the room was leaning on the wall, lightly tapping her open fan on her red lips, watching Naraku wondering what he was thinking, “do you still intend to use the girl for your own sick twisted pleasure, Naraku?” she thought. “The girl is absolutely clueless and so naïve. She has no idea what so ever that you were the one who had killed her mother… but what is there to expect from a child anyway? They'll believe almost anything you tell them…”
“Kagura,” Naraku called.
Kagura had jumped from the sound of her own name, almost believed that Naraku was able to read her thoughts. She sucked in a breath, “Yes, Naraku?” Kagura replied.
Naraku had lifted up his head and narrowed his eyes at Kagura, “Leave us…” he ordered.
Kagura continued to lightly tap her open fan and then snapped it shut as she looked at Naraku one last time before she made her way out of his dark room, “hmm, as you wish, Naraku,” she finally said and headed out of his room, leaving him alone with Tani.
The moment Kagura was for sure out of the room, Naraku then redirected his attention to Tani once again. “Tani,” he spoke, “so you have returned to your half demon state once again?”
“Yes, master Naraku, a full day has passed and now my demonic powers have returned,” she said as he silver-grayish, bluish dark eyes flashed as her small baby fangs as well every time she spoke.
Naraku smiled once again, “excellent,” he said, “and you strength has also returned from your last battle with InuYasha and his friends, has it not?”
From the sound of InuYasha's name made Tani growl with anger, “InuYasha…” she thought bitterly from the sound of his name, “the demon who had taken everything that was important to me, away from me…curse him…”she then looked at Naraku once again and nodded.
“That all leads me to one last question…” Naraku said as he dug into his pocket and brought out the sacred Shikon jewel, “do you wish to destroy Kikyo for murdering your mother and destroy InuYasha for betraying you…?”
The young half demon nodded, “yes, I want them both to suffer; I want them to both suffer greatly for what they have done to me and my family. I can never forgive them especially InuYasha.”
Naraku had smiled once again as he felt the evil course through the sacred jewel shards that he had in his possession. The more Tani was determined to end the life of Kikyo and InuYasha the more evil the jewel shard was becoming.
Things were finally taking its course for Naraku. Having Tani part of his pack was making his life and plans a whole lot easier. Naraku has made several attempts in the past to put an end to the lovely priestess Kikyo but has failed every time because of the heart of that pathetic Onigumo who still longs for Kikyo's touch. Naraku wasn't born from a mother or a father he was born from countless demons that merged into Onigumo's body that he himself had summoned himself in order to regain mobility to take off with Kikyo and thus was born Naraku who then took over Onigumo.
However although Naraku was strong enough to take over Onigumo, he still isn't strong enough to take over Onigumo's human heart which still loves Kikyo. Naraku had to find a way to kill Kikyo…
“… And so then came in Tani,” Thought Naraku,” the half demon child, born from a human mother and a demon sprite as a father.”
Tani's mother was priestess who fell in love with a demon and in return born him a child. Sadly enough Tani's father died when she was very young, so she doesn't remember her father all that much, so it was just Tani and her mother living together in an anti-demon village which meant that half demons weren't accepted either. The villagers had hated Tani to the core and slightly disliked Larina, Tani's mother, for getting involved with a demon in the first place. But, since Larina was a priestess and protected the village from danger, both Tani and her mother were able to stay in return not to harass Tani in anyway shape or form, but that didn't stop the village kids from bullying her. Almost everyday of Tani's life, she would be called names, be picked on, get verbally and physically abused by the village kids. That explains why she had no friends anyway; she would always play her ocarina by herself outside of the village.
“From what Kagura has told me about her powers, Tani would've easily annihilated the village that she once lived in all on her own even as a half demon if she wanted too but of course,” Naraku continued, “half demon, she still has somewhat of a human side, so she wouldn't have been able to go through with it; not to mention she is still a child and it would also convince the villagers even more that she was evil despite the fact that she wasn't. Such a cruel world to be in for a half demon orphan child, however with her mother gone I'm practically the only left who she can trust even thought I'm the who put an end to her mother. But, Tani can still seek revenge upon the woman who she believes killed Priestess Larina. Since Tani's mother was a priestess, there is no doubt that her mother had left her with a small bit of spiritual powers before her death… enough to fight off an enemy for only some time if she knows how to use it properly…but with a little help from the sacred Shikon jewel, Tani will have enough strength to wipe out Kikyo…”
Naraku was very impressed with himself as he was planning out his every move to kill off Kikyo. He couldn't think of any downside to his calculations this time in hopes of killing Kikyo. Suddenly, Naraku then thought of something.
“From a while back when Tani was facing Kikyo… I remember from watching the battle through Kanna's mirror, before InuYasha and his friends showed up, something about Tani's emotions. When Tani was about to finish off Kikyo, she seemed rather hesitant despite that she was in her full demon state. Something… something was stopping her from finishing Kikyo… was it her human side…?” Naraku asked himself, “It must've been the human side to her that she had inherited from her mortal mother… huh… humans and their emotions…Tani was born a full blooded demon instead of half, Kikyo would have perished by her hands a long time ago…”
Tani had noticed that Naraku had been sitting there in deep thought and wondered what he was thinking off.
Naraku then realized and remembered that Tani was still sitting there waiting for another order or an instruction and then grinned. “Perhaps I shall test her demon and human side…” He thought.
“M-master N-Naraku…?” Tani asked getting a little bit uncomfortable for sitting for so long as she changed her sitting position, “i-is there something the m-matter…?”
“Huh…” Naraku said not answering Tani's question, “Tani…”
Tani lifted her head.
Naraku smiled once more as he glanced at the tainted Shikon jewel fragment then looked at Tani once again, “How would you like to visit your old village again?”
