Flashback time, do you want to know what happened to Kagome and why Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru made peace (But not for long ;p) Well read on and enjoy!! P.S. As for Sesshoumaru’s arm *waves magic wand* poof it’s back!
Disclaimer: I do not own any of Rumiko-sama’s creations. But I do own sweet, little Daiki.
Rin had a twisted ankle, Jaken didn’t catch her in time. Sesshoumaru wasn’t sure how to handle the situation. Her cries were caught by familiar twitching dog ears. Sesshoumaru was holding Rin when Inuyasha-tachi came barreling from the woods.
Sesshoumaru smirked, ‘always the heros.’ He thought to himself.
Inuyasha saw Rin crying in Sesshoumaru’s arms. He immediately drew tessaiga from his hip.
“What are you doing to her you bastard.” Inuyasha yelled.
Sesshoumaru gave Inuyasha a smug smirk and Rin answered for him. “It isn’t Sesshoumaru-sama’s fault.” Rin explained with pain. “I fell out of a tree.”
Kagome did not hesitate to run to Rin’s aid. Sesshoumaru watched the young Miko as she took strange objects out of the large yellow bag she always carried. His instincts kicked in as he jerked Rin away from Kagome. She flinched at first and saw Inuyasha charging closer to protect her. Kagome wanted to help Rin. But she had to make Sesshoumaru trust her first.
“Inuyasha, osuwari!” Kagome yelled and Inuyasha hit the ground. Sesshoumaru watched in confusion. He didn’t know why the Miko stopped Inuyasha’s attack. Even though she was in danger of him herself. His thoughts were interrupted by a soft hand on his own. Sesshoumaru quickly turned to face caring, brown eyes. Kagome touched Sesshoumaru very gently, and spoke with a soft tone.
“Please Sesshoumaru, I only want to help her.” Kagome smiled. “I promise I will not hurt her.” Sesshoumaru just stared into her eyes. There was no malice, or distrust in her expression. Sesshoumaru had never seen her smile and him. Let alone touch him. He let himself become lost in her gaze.
‘That half breed is a fool.’ Sesshoumaru did not know why he thought that. He didn’t know why he wanted to whisk Inuyasha’s miko away from him. And keep her for Rin. Or was it for himself? He wasn’t sure and he wasn’t about to admit it. After all she was only human. A very powerful human, but human nonetheless. And yet he could change that.
“Sesshoumaru-sama?” Rin whimpered. Sesshoumaru looked down on his pup. She wasn’t afraid. And why would she be, Kagome was pure and kind. “I trust Kagome-sama, I know she won’t hurt me.” Rin knew what kind of person Kagome was, and she really liked her.
Sesshoumaru loosened his hold of Rin but kept her in his lap. He watched as Kagome treated Rin’s wounds. She was gentle and Motherly, stroking Rin’s cheek and humming a gentle song each time she whimpered in pain. Sesshoumaru wondered why Inuyasha had not took her as his mate.
“There! All done!” Kagome chirped. She went into her bag once more. “And for being so brave I’ve got a treat for you!” Kagome whipped out a sucker and pulled the wrapper off. Rin reluctantly took it. Kagome smiled. “It’s yummy, Shippou loves them.” With that Shippou jump off Miroku’s shoulder and dived in Kagome bag and pulled out his own sucker. He barely had the wrapper off before he stuck it in his mouth. He was in heaven. Rin slowly put the sucker in her mouth and paused. Everyone looked into her eyes and they saw stars. She slowly pulled the candy out.
“Wow!” She finally exclaimed, surprising everyone, even Sesshoumaru. Rin threw her arms around Kagome and kissed her cheek. Kagome blushed happily. “Arigato! Kagome-sama!” She got off Sesshoumaru’s lap and sat besides Shippou. Each child was in their own little worlds. Sesshoumaru saw how quickly Rin calmed down and wanted some of that strange food to use on her later. How little he knew of sugar rushes.
Sesshoumaru stood and saw his Brother sulking in a tree. Before making his way to the hanyou. Sesshoumaru gazed down on Kagome. She was smiling up at him. She had no fear in her eyes, she was perfect. Sesshoumaru could not help but respond with a subtle smile of his own.
“You have my gratitude, Kagome.” Sesshoumaru said low enough for only them to hear.
“Your welcome, Sesshoumaru.” Kagome said. She never took her eyes of his. Sure he was cold, and a merciless killer. But she knew there was something else. What else would explain his allowing Rin to follow him. And protecting her like he did. Inuyasha’s growls broke their trance. Sesshoumaru chuckled and went to talk to his younger Brother.
Inuyasha was watching the interaction from a nearby tree and he was pissed. First taking up for Kouga and now his dumb ass Brother. Did she even care about his needs. Apparently not, she didn’t even acknowledge the fact that he stormed off. And now she was all starry eyed and staring at him.
‘I will not be ignored!’ Inuyasha thought to himself and snarled, rather loudly, for attention. He got it, seconds later Sesshoumaru was heading his way.
Sesshoumaru made himself comfortable against the tree Inuyasha occupied. Sure that humans could not hear him, not that it mattered, Sesshoumaru growled and released a small bark.
Inuyasha knew Sesshoumaru had something important to say, if he used their natural language. Inuyasha decided to do the same.
“What the hell do you want.” Inuyasha barked.
“Inuyasha, why haven’t you taken the Miko as your mate?” Sesshoumaru asked genuinely interested.
Inuyasha was shocked by the question and grew bright red. His confusion was soon followed by anger, why would he ask, unless...
Inuyasha jumped from the tree and faced Sesshoumaru, growling. “Stay away from her you Bastard!”
Sesshoumaru chuckled. “You should talk, little Brother.”
“She’s mine!” Inuyasha’s barking was loud enough to attract the rest of the members of his group’s attention.
Kagome stood besides Sango with a confused expression. “What are they doing?”
Sango scratched her head, contemplating the question. “I...I think their talking?”
“But their barking!” Kagome could not suppress her giggles. “They’re...so cute! Just like little puppies!” Miroku and Sango looked over to their friend in amusement. Miroku turned and called Shippou over, who had long finished his treat. He was watching Rin savor hers, and he longed for another.
Shippou jumped up on Miroku’s shoulder. “What’s up Miroku?”
“Shippou can you understand the inu language?” Miroku asked.
“Sure a little, why?”
“Can you tell us what Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru are talking about.” The group was very interested in the Brother’s deep conversation, they had never seen them together this long without fighting. But from the looks they were giving each other, that wouldn’t last long.
Shippou jumped from Miroku’s shoulders and inched closer to the barking inu’s, he stopped and listened. They continued barking until Sesshoumaru walked away, followed by Inuyasha. Shippou stood in his place, frozen. Kagome-tachi ran up besides him. Kagome picked Shippou up who seemed petrified. Kagome gave him a gentle shake. He just stared at her.
“Shippou! What’s wrong?” Kagome pleaded. “Where are they going, what did they say?”
Shippou wasn’t sure how to explain this so he began casually. “They are going out to hunt.” Shippou trembled as he started with the least important topic.
“Uh...okay.” Kagome blinked as if thinking of something difficult.
“Why would they hunt together?” Sango asked for Kagome.
“Well...they have made peace with each other.” Shippou chuckled. Hoping they wouldn’t ask anymore questions. But that was a fool’s wish.
“Why?” Miroku asked impatiently.
“Because Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru are Brothers.” Shippou stated matter-a-factly. “They have responsibilities to they’re pack.”
“Since when is Sesshoumaru part of our pack?” Kagome said finally rejoining the conversation.
“Since they decided they wanted the same mate!” Shippou regretted his words as soon as he spoke them. He put his tiny hands over his mouth.
“WHAT!!” Everyone said in unison.
“Shippou what are you saying?” Miroku coaxed.
“I’m saying that they have a truce until Naraku is defeated.” Shippou knew he had no choice but to explain, but he would not, could not mention who they wanted. “After that they will fight to prove who is the alpha male. And that male will have all rights to the female they haven chosen.”
Sango and Miroku instinctively looked at Kagome, who else could it be? There was no way Sesshoumaru wanted Kikyou. Was it?
Kagome eyebrow twitched as Shippou spoke. She wanted to hear it from Shippou’s mouth, after she heard it, she could breath again.
“Who is it Shippou?” Kagome asked, her heart in her throat. “Who does Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru want?” Shippou looked up at his Mother with pleading eyes.
“Don’t make me say it.” Shippou said with his head down.
Kagome lifted Shippou up eye level. He could see the anger flicker in her eyes. “You will tell me young man, or no more treats ever!” Kagome threatened. She couldn’t really say she was completely serious. But he didn’t have to know that.
Shippou’s eyes grew wide as saucers, and he wrapped his tiny arms around his Mother’s throat. “You! Kagome they want you.” Kagome wasn’t exactly sure when she fainted.
“You can’t just claim her without asking, Inuyasha!” Sango tried to keep her voice down to a angry whisper.
“That goes for you to, Sesshoumaru.” Miroku agreed.
Kagome heard Inuyasha grunt and Sesshoumaru give his dry chuckle.
“She was already mine before he showed up.” Inuyasha said seething.
“Since when Inuyasha, you never truly laid claim to her?” Miroku continued. “How was she suppose to know your feelings, if you kept running after Kikyou-sama.” Inuyasha was silent for a long moment.
“Well, maybe if she had more trust in me, I wouldn’t have to worry about that.” Inuyasha finally retorted.
Sesshoumaru smiled. “She will be taken care of properly with me. And will be a Mother to Rin.” Sesshoumaru said flatly. “I have no other women that is worthy of becoming my mate.”
Sango turned to Sesshoumaru surprised by his statement, but still angry. “And you! I thought you hated humans and Hanyous. Why would you take Kagome-chan, a human and have hanyou children?” Sango demanded.
“She is no ordinary human. And she will bear me extraordinary pups.” Sesshoumaru explained. “Besides, when I offer her my youkai, she will take it and will become hanyou.” He paused for the shocked gasps.
“You can do that!” Sango exclaimed.
Sesshoumaru chuckled. “My blood will remain strong within my children. Unlike Inuyasha and Father’s blood.”
Inuyasha growled. “Shut up! You don’t deserve Kagome. Besides she’ll never except you!” Inuyasha laughed.
“And she would except a half breed like you?” Sesshoumaru lifted a eyebrow to his Brother. He could tell from Inuyasha’s sullen expression, that he hit a nerve.
“Kagome-chan already excepts Inuyasha for what he is. Unlike Kikyou.” Sango said. Her voice was softer now, she felt bad for Inuyasha. “That’s why we don’t understand why you would hurt Kagome-chan and run to Kikyou, each time she beckons.”
Inuyasha said nothing. Sesshoumaru shifted but remained silent, waiting for his Brother’s explanation. But still he said nothing.
“You are pathetic, Little Brother.” Sesshoumaru said. There was no mocking or humor in his voice. Kagome could tell Inuyasha was hurt beyond words.
Miroku cleared his throat. “Has anyone stopped to asked Kagome-sama what she wanted?” Miroku said sternly.
“This Sesshoumaru, always gets what he desires.” He stated. Sesshoumaru was tired of the conversation and walked away into the forest.
Sango focused back on Inuyasha. “Inuyasha? What are you going to do?” She asked, worried that if Sesshoumaru won, he would take Kagome against her will. And there would be nothing they could do. Inuyasha said nothing when the familiar sound of Shinidamachuu hit his ears. Everyone looked up to see Kikyou’s soul collectors circling the camp. Inuyasha slowly stood, he didn’t feel Kagome’s eyes boring into his back.
Sango sighed. “Inuyasha you are going to her, aren’t you?”
Inuyasha lowered his head but said nothing as he disappeared in the forest after Kikyou. Kagome felt betrayed, and her heart shattered. She could barely stifle her sobs. At that point she just wanted to go home and seal the well. She didn’t want to ever see either Brother ever again. Her thoughts were interrupted by the movement of two small, warm bodies shifting against her. Curled in her stomach was Shippou. Behind her was Rin. They seemed to be sharing they’re dreams because they both smiled, Kagome wanted to cry when they called out for the same person. They called out for her.
At that moment Kagome found herself more torn than she ever felt. On the one hand there was Sesshoumaru. Merciless killer. He was cold, it was hard to know what he was thinking. He didn’t seem to care about anything, but there was also Rin. Just why does he keep her with him? Could he truly love the child, somewhere deep in his heart, in a place he shows no one. Kagome sighed softly, Sesshoumaru would protect her, he wouldn’t leave her for some woman and hurt her. He would be there. But would he love her?
Then there was Inuyasha. Stubborn jerk. He had a wild temper, he would be quick to show his anger before his softer side. He protected his friends, he protected her. But he always ran back to Kikyou. What did they talk about, what does he promise her. If Inuyasha won and claimed Kagome, after they had children would he still go to Kikyou? He wouldn’t be there. Would she always be second best?
There were Kagome’s choices. Youkai or Hanyou. Or she still had home, school, human husband, human family. Misery. Longing. Decisions, decisions. Kagome sat up quietly and snuck into the forest, as to not get the attention of her friends. She had to know what Kikyou wanted Inuyasha for. Silently she followed the soul collectors to the tree where Inuyasha and Kikyou were standing. She watched in horror as they kissed one another. Kagome wanted to cry she wanted to scream, instead she ran.
“Inuyasha, you came.” Kikyou said as she floated down to him. “You always come.” Kikyou had a sound of sad certainty in her voice.
“What do you want Kikyou?” Inuyasha still had Kagome on his mind, but he needed to be there for Kikyou, he owed her that.
“Inuyasha, you sound like there is something other than me on your mind.” Kikyou sighed. “Is it my reincarnation?”
Inuyasha jerked his head up, he smiled oh so softly and nodded. “Yes, it’s Kagome. I-“
Kikyou placed her fingers to his lips. She knew the time was coming when he would choose Kagome. She longer fooled herself into thinking otherwise.
“You love her, don’t you?” Kikyou asked softly. Inuyasha said nothing, his eyes only responded. They were the blissful eyes of someone in love.
Kikyou placed her hands on her former love’s chest. “We will never have what we had in life again. I fooled myself to believe that maybe we could find it in death. But even then...” Kikyou began to trail off as she stared in Inuyasha’s eyes.
“Kikyou.” Inuyasha said softly as he clutched her arms. Kikyou’s face was content but tragic. She slowly lifted her head and met Inuyasha with a chaste kiss. Inuyasha didn’t fight her, he knew she deserved this final goodbye.
Kikyou withdrew from Inuyasha’s hold and turned to leave. Slowly she turned again and gave him the most anguished smile that ever crossed her face. “Goodbye Inuyasha.” She finally said.
Inuyasha returned the smile. “Goodbye, Kikyou.”
Kagome didn’t struggle under Sesshoumaru’s hold, she was to tired to fight. Instead she cried. Before she knew what was happening she was enveloped in Sesshoumaru’s arms. He didn’t speak, he didn’t offer any words of wisdom or try to wipe away her tears. He just held her, and that was all she needed. Kagome was blinded by mixed emotions. She didn’t love Sesshoumaru, she didn’t even like him, she loved Inuyasha. And he loved Kikyou. Kagome’s heart pounded against Sesshoumaru’s chest and he lifted her chin with a clawed finger. She just stared at him as he ran his fingers through her midnight hair. Still he said nothing, he just looked at her with soft eyes.
Kagome never turned away, even when he lowered his head and kissed her passionately. She was shocked but didn’t pull away. Kagome melted in his touch, it seemed so right at that moment. Their bodies pressed together was a perfect fit. She needed this, and although she didn’t love him, she had to have him. Kagome yearned for him, because he wanted her. And she needed to feel wanted. Suddenly a streak of crimson and silver flashed in her mind. Kagome’s eyes opened wide.
‘What am I doing!’ Kagome thought. ‘I can’t do this to him, either of them.’ Kagome pulled herself from Sesshoumaru’s hold. She wanted to die when she saw his expression. He actually looked bothered, not hurt but disappointed. She couldn’t stand it any longer. So she ran again. Kagome’s mind was racing. She didn’t know what to think of herself at that point. She felt like she was betraying them both. Using Sesshoumaru to get back at Inuyasha. She felt sick and could taste the bile. She was ashamed, because she liked it. She liked kissing Sesshoumaru, but she loved Inuyasha.
When she felt like she was far enough away from everyone, Kagome stopped and caught much needed breath. She felt emotionally and physically drained. She couldn’t run anymore. All Kagome wanted was sleep.
Kagome didn’t know how long she was sitting there before both Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru found her. But the sun was peeking over the horizon. She couldn’t look at either one of them. And they knew not to speak to her. Silently they made they’re way back to the camp.
Unbeknownst to them, Naraku’s poison insects were watching the entire duration of events. Naraku knew the group was close and now Sesshoumaru was with them. When the insects reported back, Naraku laughed sinisterly.
“Hm, very interesting.” Naraku said. Kanna was besides him holding Akago. “This Miko must be powerful indeed if even the great Sesshoumaru wants to have her.” Suddenly a evil thought came upon him. “If she can produce children that powerful, it would be in my best interest to acquire that womb for myself.”
Kanna listened intently. “Naraku, what will you do?” Kanna hauntingly beautiful voice asked.
Naraku let a low rumble escape from his throat. “I’m going to go and claim my mate.”
“Will you two jerks, knock it off already!” Kagome screamed, waking her friends. She half expected another growl. But they were silent and staring off in the same direction. Kagome was confused until she felt it, a immense demonic aura. It could only be one youkai who could produce that amount of evil. Naraku.
She made her decision. “Sango let me off.” Kagome ordered.
“What’s wrong?” Sango asked her friend concerned.
“I have a plan, please just trust me.” Kagome pleaded. Sango was silent for a moment.
“Kirara, let Kagome off.” Kirara roared in agreement and stopped to let Kagome off. “Kagome-chan, please be careful.” Sango smiled sadly.
The men realized what was going on and turned to stop Kagome. Sango stepped in front of them as Kagome ran into the forest. Sesshoumaru didn’t hesitate to jump over the taijiya. Sango whirled around.
“Sesshoumaru!” Sango cried. “If you care about her, you’ll trust her!” Sesshoumaru paused and turned to face the group. He noticed that Inuyasha had not went after Kagome. He knew her, and he trusted her. Sesshoumaru turned again at stared into the forest where Kagome disappeared. Finally he turned and rejoined the group into Naraku’s direction.
Kagome ran back to the spot where she saw the white. Her suspicions were right. Kanna was walking away from Naraku’s aura. She had Naraku’s baby in her arms.
“Kanna! Akago!” Kagome yelled. Kanna turned, her eyes were wide, but she didn’t have the expression of fear.
“Ah, Kagome.” Akago smiled sinisterly. “I apologize but we won’t need your eyes, after all.” Kagome stood there confused.
“What are you taking about?” Kagome said angrily.
“Your eyes, we don’t need them. The sacred jewel is complete.” Akago narrowed his eyes, he was amused by Kagome’s change is expressions. Confusion, despair, then hate.
‘The jewel is complete,’ Kagome thought. ‘That could only mean...’
Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha were attacking Naraku together. Sesshoumaru sliced into the extended tentacles as Inuyasha blasted away the shouki that poured out.
“You are not powerful enough to defeat me.” Akago mocked. “Without the hanyou you are useless.” Kagome felt her aura spiking and flooding with anger. She drew another arrow. Akago stared at Kagome bemused. “You humans are relentless creatures. Naraku is right to take you as a mate.”
Kagome’s eyes shot open. Naraku was going to take her as a mate. Kagome heart lurched with thoughts Naraku’s foal body against hers, having his evil children and most liking being killed after he got what he wanted. Kagome was surrounded by a powerful pink aura at that point. Akago watched in curiosity. Kagome didn’t respond as she opened her eyes. Akago saw flames in her eyes. Kagome pulled her arrow back and fired again. The purifying arrow’s power was incredible. The arrow burned everything it flew past and hit the barrier. It didn’t break it, but it didn’t disappear either. It was stuck in the barrier, cracking it slowly. Evil and pure energy fought each other and surrounded the barrier. The arrow was pulsing, it was losing the battle.
Akago was smiling, until he saw Kagome’s surprised expression. She was looking past him. Kanna slowly turned and saw Kikyou standing over them. Kagome’s arrow was starting to disappear. Kikyou didn’t have much time, she threw her hands against Akago’s barrier. Her power combined with Kagome’s disabled the barrier. Kanna gasped and dropped Akago. She took the arrow in the chest.
“I grow tired of this.” Naraku boomed. “Where is the Miko, Kagome!”
Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha stopped what they were doing and looked at Naraku. “What do you want with Kagome!” Inuyasha demanded.
“She will be taken as my mate.” As soon as Naraku spoke these words, Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha was upon him, slamming into his barrier. Naraku knew he hit the mark. Both brother’s eyes were blood red. There minds taken over by feral instinct. He thought he could hear random words coming from the two attackers. Words such as; mine, mate, protect. Kill. Naraku didn’t realize until it was two late that his barrier was weakening. Naraku thought it was now or never to absorb the Inu brothers.
“Kikyou...” Kagome choked out her name. “Thank you.” Kagome had tears in her eyes, and ignored Akago trying to squirm out of her arms. “After this is over, you won’t have to worry about me anymore.” Kagome reassured.
Kikyou looked confused at first but then her features softened. “Kagome, Inuyasha and I said goodbye.” Kikyou said sadly. Kagome gasped.
“But I saw...” Kagome began.
“The last kiss goodbye.” Kikyou finished for her. “He chooses you.” Kagome’s heart was a flutter. She didn’t know how to respond. Kikyou stepped closer and wrapped her arms around Kagome, sweetly. Kagome dropped Akago and threw her arms around Kikyou. She cried from sadness, from happiness. She just cried. Suddenly Kikyou felt warm, she held Kagome tight, they both began to glow. Kikyou smiled as the souls began to leave her body and disappear in the sky. Kagome gasped and stepped back from Kikyou, who fell into a heap on the ground. Kagome didn’t know what to do. Kikyou didn’t move, the souls that sustained her body was gone. Slowly one more soul emerged from her chest and began to take shape. Kagome blinked and Kikyou was standing before her.
“Ki-Kikyou?” Kagome stammered.
“Kagome, my life in this world ended fifty years ago.” Kikyou’s voice was ghostly. “I was not meant to be here, but you are. You and I share the same soul, but we are so different. I could never be as pure as you are now. Because of that, you have more power than you realize. You will go on, you will live as Midoriko did, immortal.” Kikyou sighed. “This is both a gift and a curse. But you are needed in this world, you will ultimately save it from itself.” Kagome listened intently. She was in shock and couldn’t respond. “There was something I wanted to say to you and Inuyasha for awhile now. I wanted to say I’m sorry. I’m sorry Kagome for the pain I caused you both.” Kagome nodded softly. Kikyou was at peace at that moment. “Go now Kagome, you are needed.” Kikyou’s image slowly disappeared and took it’s original form. It floated closer to Kagome and she took it in her hands. As she touched it, it became purified. Kagome could feel all the anger and malice dissipate. Kagome held the orb close and it disappeared within her heart.
Kagome felt the danger Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru was in. She picked Akago up once more and ran to help her friends.
“You will die knowing that Kagome will be mine.” Naraku grinned. He began to draw Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha closer.
“NARAKU!” Kagome jumped from the forest carrying Akago. Naraku turned and his eyes widened in shock. Kagome held Akago over her head and smiled. “Did you lose something!” Naraku threw the Brothers to the side and charged towards Kagome, snarling. Kagome didn’t flinch she held Akago and continued smiling. Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru got their bearings and ran after Naraku.
Naraku was right above Kagome when her hands began to emit powerful energy. She cringed as she felt the flesh of Akago begin to burn away. Naraku stopped and fell to the ground. He recoiled as if feeling the pain Akago felt. His power began to fade. And his barrier fell. Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha was upon him. Still very feral and protecting. They abandoned their swords and tore into Naraku like rabid dogs. Naraku tried to fight them off, but he was to weak. He screamed out in pain. He watched as Akago was reduced to nothing but his heart. Kagome stepped toward Naraku.
“You’ve caused so much pain, Naraku.” Kagome said as she clutched Naraku’s heart in her palm. “Was it worth it?” Naraku tried to ignore the claws and fangs that ripped into his flesh and stared at Kagome. She became bewildered when he started laughing. Kagome soon realized what was happening. In Naraku’s one good arm, he held the sacred jewel.
“It will be, Kagome.” Kagome stepped back. As the jewel began to give off a dark light. Kagome purified Naraku’s heart, but it was to late. He made a wish. Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru was thrown back by a unknown source. Slowly they became in control of their youkai in time to see a dragon emerge from the sacred jewel. It had no solid mass, it was only mist. The inu brothers could hardly move as they watched in horror as the dragon passed through Kagome. They wondered why she didn’t move.
Kagome had saw the Dragon emerge, but she was to scared to even move. She had no idea what Naraku wished for. Before she could finally will herself to move the Dragon had attacked. As it passed through her, she saw her entire life play in reverse. The battle, her friends, the years of adventures in the feudal era. She saw the sad face of a woman with brown eyes. She saw a monk with a hole in his hand. She saw a small child that curled up into her chest. She saw a demon Lord and little girl and un-dead priestess. She didn’t know who they were. She saw herself pulling a arrow from a boy with strange ears, but she wasn’t sure of his name. She saw herself being pulled into a well as a young boy she didn’t recognize looked on. She saw the understanding face of a older woman, who could be someone’s mother and the wise but silly face of someone’s Grandfather. People she didn’t recognized, experiences she didn’t remember having. Her entire life was gone. Kagome stood quiet and still. Before she knew it, she was in the air being carried away.
Her eyes were closed but she heard a name, someone was calling for the woman that was being carried away. She listened, what did they call her? She heard it again. The name had so much pain behind it. What was the name. The girl opened her eyes but couldn’t see who called for her.
“Kagome?” She said softly before passing out.
Well that was a long chapter, I had two other alternatives for Naraku’s death, but I went with this one. Anyway thanks for the reviews, they are keeping me motivated. Unfortunately I don’t have anyone to edit my work, so there are errors. I will not post again before throughly going over my work. Hopefully there will be less errors that distracts from the story. Anyway I hope I am keeping my readers. Vote for pairings! See you soon!
P.S. I know Midoriko wasn’t immortal, but in my fiction she is. I think it adds a bit more sadness to Kagome, more for her to heal!

******
Kagome was lying in her sleeping bag in the forest. She wasn’t sure what exactly happened, that is until she saw two silver haired brothers sitting with they’re back turned to her. She quickly clenched her eyes closed again. She couldn’t face them right now, and the group was at least three days travel from the well. Kagome heard the voices of Miroku and Sango, they were having a heated discussion with the inu Brothers.“You can’t just claim her without asking, Inuyasha!” Sango tried to keep her voice down to a angry whisper.
******
Inuyasha found Kikyou resting in a tree, absorbing tragic souls. Inuyasha thought she was beautiful in life. But in death, she wasn’t the same. She would never be the same again.“Inuyasha, you came.” Kikyou said as she floated down to him.
******
Kagome ran until her legs burned and she thought her lungs would collapse. She didn’t go back into the camp, she just wanted to get away. Why would Inuyasha fight for her if he wanted Kikyou. She didn’t understand why he did this to her. The one he wanted to mate. Kagome wondered if he planned to have both. Since one could have children and one could not. Was that his plan. Clouds covered a already black sky. The waxing moon offered little light. But she didn’t care, she just needed to run. And she did. She ran until she couldn’t anymore, that is to say she was stopped. Rather forcefully, something was clutching her arm. Kagome looked back and saw two golden eyes looking back at her, reflecting what little light it was.Kagome didn’t struggle under Sesshoumaru’s hold, she was to tired to fight.
******
Kagome didn’t close her eyes for a minute before she woke with a start. Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha were sitting on either side of her, sleeping. Whenever she would shuffle the feral brothers let out a small growl at her, and gave a even louder growl at each other. Kagome hadn’t spoken since they got back to camp. But they were working on her last nerve. After another growl Kagome sat up quickly.“Will you two jerks, knock it off already!” Kagome screamed, waking her friends. She half expected another growl. But they were silent and staring off in the same direction. Kagome was confused until she felt it, a immense demonic aura. It could only be one youkai who could produce that amount of evil. Naraku.
******
The children were safe with Ah-Un and Jaken. Everyone wanted Kagome to stay behind also. Kagome was fuming, she wasn’t a child. And she wasn’t helpless. Kagome refused to let Inuyasha carry her, much to his surprise. Instead she rode Kirara with Sango while the Men traveled by foot. Kagome caught something white is the corner of her eye. But no one else seemed to notice. She replayed the image repeatedly in her mind. Kagome felt something in her heart say that the thing in white was important.

Sango stared at the lifeless body of her younger Brother. She couldn’t react at first, not until she heard Naraku’s mocking laugh. At that point nothing could stop her from attacking. Miroku jumped from the unconscious Kouga to catch Sango before she was absorbed into Naraku’s flesh.Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha were attacking Naraku together. Sesshoumaru sliced into the extended tentacles as Inuyasha blasted away the shouki that poured out.
******
Kagome was seething. She drew a arrow and shot at Akago, only to be stopped by a barrier. Kagome cursed under her breath.“You are not powerful enough to defeat me.” Akago mocked.

Sesshoumaru was growing impatient, each appendage he lopped off grew back immediately. Naraku was impatient as well. He was there for one person and she wasn’t there. Getting Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha was just a added bonus.“I grow tired of this.” Naraku boomed.

Akago laid on the ground and watched as Kanna died. Kagome lifted him into her arms. Kikyou stepped closer to Kagome. Kikyou could see the hurt in Kagome’s eyes as she stepped further.“Kikyou...” Kagome choked out her name.
******
Naraku knocked Sesshoumaru’s sword from his grasp. It was becoming easier to subdue the Brothers because of their blind rage. Inuyasha was struggling and clawing against one of the tentacles that held him. Sesshoumaru tried to lunge to his Brother’s aide only to be caught in mid air by Naraku. Sango and Miroku was unconscious for the amount of shouki they inhaled. Naraku laughed.“You will die knowing that Kagome will be mine.” Naraku grinned.
