“Shippou!” Rin exclaimed and dropped to her knees besides her friend. Shippou got up shakily and sat back with his legs crossed.
“I’m sorry, Rin. I just needed to talk to you.” Shippou sighed.
Rin looked up at Kenta with hopeful eyes. “Take your time, my love.” Kenta smiled and nodded to the kitsune before walking away.
Rin watched Kenta go and turned her attention back to her best friend. Shippou sniffed the air and smiled sadly. “Your going to make a good Mother.” Shippou said pointing out her firm stomach that held her and Kenta’s first child. Rin placed her hand on her belly.
“Thank you, Shippou. But I still think about different things sometimes. Like what if the child I was carrying was a kitsune hanyou.” Rin blushed.
“Someone might already carry my child.” Shippou bit out angrily, more towards himself than anything else.
He was stunned when Rin placed her hand in his. “I’m glad Shippou.”
Shippou looked away from Rin’s trusting eyes. “I did something horrible Rin.” Shippou said still refusing eye contact.
“Oh, Shippou. Please tell me what happened.”
“Kuso!” The illusionist muttered. She knew what she needed, but she also knew she may never have it again. Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha occupied her thoughts every moment. She was officially mated to them. And even if they could break the bond, she was female and was trapped. She knew that only males could find other mates. But being a female, Nakori was doomed to yearn for them. “I will have them, I will kill Kagome.” Nakori could only bury her face in her hands and pout. Suddenly she stood and gave another swift kick to the corpse besides her. “No! I will have them! I swear it!”
Sesshoumaru had an idea, Kagome carried some youkai blood within her. She could handle youki power. Before he had another thought the youkai lord reached into his mouth and forcefully pulled his canine fang out. Sesshoumaru swallowed the pain and the blood and went to find his brother.
Inuyasha was hidden in a tree, he has kept mostly to himself after the mating but indulged in gatherings when the soldiers had their meals. Kagome kept his spirits up but mostly the hanyou was sulking. He mated with another, he was fooled for the millionth time by Naraku’s incarnation. He couldn’t believe the evil hanyou stole the body of that young human. A human Kagome was so close to. He was afraid Kagome wouldn’t have the heart to kill him. His thoughts continued towards Nakori. He didn’t remember everything. He remembered seeing her in the mist posing as Kagome. He remembered the first time he took her. He wasn’t concerned about her feelings at the time. All he knew was that he wanted her. Then nothing, he hardly even remembers Sesshoumaru being present. The last thing he knew it was three weeks later when he was sure only three days has passed.
“That wasn’t Kagome. Kagome is my real mate. Kagome is the one I love.” As soon as Inuyasha softly said these words Sesshoumaru was sitting besides him.
“I’m glad to hear that Brother.” Sesshoumaru smiled as he punched Inuyasha square in the jaw, sending the hanyou face first into the ground.
“What the fuck was that for!” The hanyou said as he reached for his sore and missing tooth. Sesshoumaru smirked and jumped from the tree. He quickly scanned the area and found the lost fang.
“I will be journeying to Totosai. Try to stay out of trouble.” Sesshoumaru said before walking away.
“You could have just asked, you dick!” Inuyasha yelled at the retreating back of his older Brother.
Sesshoumaru ventured back to Kagome to tell her his goodbyes.
“Where are you going?” Kagome asked looking a little worried.
“I will return within this moon’s cycle. If you feel strange in any way, talk to Inuyasha. When I return you will have a gift and your guarantee for survival.” Sesshoumaru leaned in and kissed her lips gently. Kagome returned the kiss with much more heat. Sesshoumaru stepped back and smiled. “Perhaps my journey can be postponed until nightfall.” Kagome giggled as she lead him into the guest hut for more privacy.
“Sango, did you hear me? We might need more wood for the west wing of the house.” Miroku was leaning against a plank to hold it in place. They had spent the entire morning rebuilding the house. They waited a week just to be safe, there was no point in rebuilding the home every few days. Sango looked at her husband and smiled. Miroku was still revered as the holy man of the village although he long hung up his monk attire. The villagers looked to Miroku to bless the homes and to perform marriages and over look burials. He was the village headsman afterall. Sango fell quickly into her role of Mother and care taker of the village. She and Kohaku welcomed every passerby with warmth and immediately found room in their modest village which wasn’t so modest anymore. More than one hundred villagers now resided in the slayer’s village. Most of them were slayers themselves. Kohaku and his nephew, Akio walked up to his sister the same moment she thought of him.
“How is the house coming, Ane-ue? Akio was helping me with the finishing touches on me and Rei’s house.” Kohaku smiled and ruffled the young boy’s hair. Those two were inseparable.
“It seems Sango has been lost in thought all day.” Miroku sighed. “How is Rei fairing?” Miroku asked about Kohaku’s young wife. Kohaku smiled, his wife was barely fifteen and about to give birth to their first child. She was small and quiet but she was a very good wife.
“Rei-chan is fine. She has never had so much excitement before. She wondering if she could be a demon slayer!” Kohaku laughed at the thought.
“No, not little Rei!” Miroku laughed. “Remember when she tried to carry Sango’s hiraikotsu!” Miroku was nearly doubling over with laughter, that is until he lost his balance when the plank fell on him.
“Serves you right.” Sango joined in the laughter. She help her husband up and he quickly stole a kiss.
“Is that any way to treat your husband.” Miroku eyed Sango mischievously. Then suddenly he lifted the slayer over his shoulder and spin her around while playfully smacking her bottom.
“Eww, their at it again.” Akio groaned as he watched his parent’s childish and happy play. “Come on, I think I hear Rei calling.” Akio pulled Kohaku from the scene and left the happy couple alone.
“Hey, Kohaku! Tell Rei to bring Himawari home! The house...will...b-be done!” Sango tried to yell out in between laughter and Miroku’s tickling fingers.
“Take your time!” Miroku called out. He was going to enjoy a moment of peace with his wife before his children came home.
“Ha! If it isn’t the toothless wonder. What on earth happened to you?” Sayuri asked.
“Your jaw is bruised, inu. Were you in a fight?” Akira pouted. “I always miss the action.”
“You are the pig youkai who is helping Kagome. The one with the ningen wife?” Inuyasha asked.
“Yes, you are right. I will always be there when Kagome calls.” Akira invited himself to sit next to Inuyasha.
“Why would you help a miko?” Inuyasha asked out of curiosity.
“You are her mate and you have to ask?” Akira shook his head in disappointment. “I met Kagome three years ago when she assisted my clan. We wouldn’t be thriving as we are now if it wasn’t for her. After our first meeting she returned after we sent word to Sayuri that my mate, Emi was to give birth. After that Kagome became a permanent mid wife and brought two other of my children safely into this world.” Akira scratched Sayuri’s head before continuing. One of my triplets are named after Kagome. Hell I wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t for her. I was ill and she traveled day and night to return to my clan, just to personally see to my health. I owe Kagome everything, during my sickness I lost control of myself and nearly killed her. But she stayed by me. Just as she has done for everyone fighting today.” Akira smiled. “Kagome isn’t human, and she isn’t youkai. She is above all of us on some heavenly level. Anyone would be lucky to have her as a mate.”
By this time Inuyasha was smiling and beaming with pride. Akira to be disappointed in him. He didn’t think Kagome would forgive him for mating with another, but Inuyasha knew, just as he had always known, Kagome had a big heart and everything she is, is completely pure.
“Thanks, Akira.” Inuyasha said before standing to make his way back to the village.
“He is a good hanyou even if he doubts himself.” Sayuri said after Inuyasha left the area.
“I do believe that Kagome-sama is in good hands.” Akira smiled.
Kagome found the two outside of one of the homes Kouga resided in during his stay at the village. Kouga was happily bouncing Daiki on his knee and the baby hanyou couldn’t get enough.
“Kou-Kou!” Daiki squealed.
Kouga looked up to see Kagome watching the events before her. He thought that she was so beautiful and told her so when no one was listening. He loved her very much and would still protect her with his life, even if she belonged to the brothers.
“His growing slowed to normal, can you tell?” Kouga asked.
“Oh, I didn’t realize.” Kagome smiled as she took her son into her arms. “I see he learned another word.”
“Yeah he still can’t say the whole thing though.” Kouga smiled.
“Kouga, remember I told you about my world?” Kagome asked as she sat besides him.
“Yeah, it’s still pretty weird though.” Kouga allowed Kagome to hand him back the little hanyou he loved so dearly.
“I think I want to go there, but what happens if I can’t come back?” Kagome had thought about that a lot. Inuyasha told her the well closed after her disappearance. What she found a way to get through but not come back.
“Would you like me to come with you? Me and Daiki? I can try and help.” Kouga offered.
Kagome smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder. “Thank you Kouga, I don’t think you could go through the well but I would be grateful if you could be there with me.”
Kagome did care for the wolf as much as a brother. He was understanding and helpful when she had questions about mating that she was too embarrassed to ask the Brothers. Kouga help her make it smooth for all of them.
“Kagome, what ever happens I will always be there for you.” And Kouga meant it with every fiber of his being.
Sachiko wandered to pick some fruit for that nights dinner. When a large youkai appeared from the trees. He was a bear youkai and part of one of the many armies that stayed in the village. Sachiko felt safe and uneasy at the same time. The last time she was alone with a youkai, he took her by force.
The youkai took a sniff of the air. “Ah, so young one you were already broken in, and you carry a child.”
Sachiko gasped at the bear’s assessment. “What? I’m with child?”
The bear stepped closer. “Pregnant females are particularly delicious.” The bear licked his lips and took another step closer.
“W-What! You want to eat me!” Sachiko’s first instinct was to fight. If the bear was telling the truth, she had to protect herself and her baby. “No, I won’t let you!” Sachiko drew her arrow and grazed the bear shoulder with the first shot. ‘I’m not nearly as good as Kagome but please let her feel my energy.’
The bear was now charging in anger and had drawn his sword for the kill. Suddenly a blur of red hair sped past Sachiko and after that all she heard was the clashing of steel before she blacked out.
“Sachiko-chan? Sachiko-chan?” It was the voice of Kagome. Sachiko opened her eyes she was in the guest hut with Kagome wiping her brow with a damp cloth. Inuyasha was sitting against the wall talking to someone in the shadows. Sachiko couldn’t make out who he was in the darkness but she reached out to him.
“Sachiko-chan, please rest a bit more.” Kagome took the girl’s outstretched hand and place it against her belly.
“My baby?” Sachiko whispered.
“Will be just fine.” Kagome reassured.
“Shippou-kun? He saved me didn’t he?” Sachiko asked.
Kagome smiled. “Trust me, Sachiko-chan. Shippou will always be there for you.”
Sachiko knew the answer after that. Shippou came back for her. Sachiko felt a tear roll down her cheek and a gentle hand wiped it away. Sachiko didn’t have to turn to know who it was. She smiled and closed her eyes after they locked with emerald.
“Thank you, Shippou.” Sachiko said before allowing sleep to claim her.

Shippou skidded to a stop in front of Sesshoumaru’s castle. It only took the fox demon three days to run in his full form. He could smell her before he saw her, Rin. She was sitting with Kenta and smiling. Kenta looked up to see Shippou walking towards them. The kitsune seemed lost and distraught. Rin turned and smiled only to see Shippou collapse at he feet.“Between friends there is no need of justice.”

Nakori kicked the dead youkai that didn’t satisfy her and her animalistic needs. She has tried many different youkai and humans. But the results were the same, they were dead and she was unsatisfied.“Kuso!” The illusionist muttered. She knew what she needed, but she also knew she may never have it again. Sesshoumaru watched Kagome tend to her friend’s children and he thought about his mate’s future children. There would be many between the brother’s and Sesshoumaru knew the complications of having such special children. He and Inuyasha would need to protect their family, surely Kagome’s powers would weaken being mated to a youkai and hanyou. Kagome was strong and she would train harder, but he needed her rested and well taken care of. He could see one the marks she now displayed on her neck and the other given to her by Inuyasha was further into her clothing. Two crescent moons. Sesshoumaru’s blue, Inuyasha’s red. No other youkai would dare touch or claim her, not even the wolf who took a great liking to Daiki and was always limping behind Kagome. The wolf knew his boundaries. Sesshoumaru smiled when he remembered Kagome’s apprehensiveness at the thought of completing the mating. Being marked not once but twice and at the same time. Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru pierced her skin and allowed their blood to mix with hers at the exact moment. Kagome was the first of her kind to bear two marks from two different youkai.Sesshoumaru had an idea, Kagome carried some youkai blood within her. She could handle youki power. Before he had another thought the youkai lord reached into his mouth and forcefully pulled his canine fang out. Sesshoumaru swallowed the pain and the blood and went to find his brother.

Sango watched as Kagome and Sesshoumaru disappeared into their hut. Miroku brung Sango out of her thoughts by tapping her butt slightly.“Sango, did you hear me? Akira and Sayuri was patrolling the area when they spotted Inuyasha sulking against a tree. Sayuri chirped happily when she spotted the hanyou who only bared his fangs in response.“Ha! If it isn’t the toothless wonder. What on earth happened to you?” Sayuri asked.
“Your jaw is bruised, inu. Were you in a fight?” Akira pouted. “I always miss the action.”

Night had fallen and Kagome saw Sesshoumaru off. Already she could feel the affects of his departure. She decided to keep her mind of Sesshoumaru and spent some time with Daiki who had grown close to Kouga. Kagome found that she enjoyed the wolf’s company more now that he wasn’t always pawing on her. They actually talked for real now and Kouga was now referred to as her best friend.Kagome found the two outside of one of the homes Kouga resided in during his stay at the village. Sachiko felt the need to see Shippou. Although he took her against her will she wanted to be near him. She forgave him after Inuyasha explained why Shippou did what he did. Sachiko discovered that she was deemed worthy by his true youkai to become his mate. She didn’t mind, during the their travel to the taijiya village Sachiko secretly fell for the fox demon. He was kind and gentle. He always caught her before she fell and she enjoyed the moments they shared, sitting and talking while Kagome got some much deserved rest. Sachiko knew the kitsune loved another and swore he would meet her again in another life.
