Chapter Three: The First Assignment

Ina turned off her buzzer, feeling strangely tired and pissed. She normally was pissed, but not as much as today. She stumbled into the shower, like normal, and fell asleep standing. At least until her mom called. She dressed for school and sat at the table for breakfast.

Sesshomaru sighed as he got into his car. He was a quiet man, of course, and oftentimes didn't turn on the radio. But, since he was annoyed today, he figured he might as well bug himself even more.

 

On the radio, he heard Ina's voice. “Gosh, I don't know what to say. I'm really glad you feel that way. `Cause I'm afraid that I like you more than I've ever liked any guy before.

 

“`Cause now, my love, I'm getting what I've always been dreaming of. So are you, oh baby, fantasies come true. And now, I swear, that when you want me I'm gonna be right there. To care for you! That's what I'm gonna do. And make your fantasies come true.

 

Ina's voice was quiet as the music stopped. “Fantasies come true…” Sesshomaru could have sworn that he heard her whisper “Sesshomaru…” at the end of the song.

Sesshomaru went to his locker and looked at Ina's. He wrote a quick note and slipped it into her locker. He grabbed his books and walked to class. He sat down, happy that his seat was by the door so that he could see Ina come in.

 

Ina came in, accidentally tripping over the door stop. While everyone laughed, Sesshomaru got up. Everyone instantly silenced. Sesshomaru kneeled down beside her, helping her gather her books. He took the books she had gathered and set them on the table the two of them sat at.

 

Ina, embarrassed, sat at the table and put her stuff away. She waited for Naraku to enter the room, spotting a new student. Of course, she wasn't about to get up and go over across the room. Especially since Inuyasha had switched to the class.

 

Naraku walked in and started passing out manila folders and graded tests. The tests were to see what everyone knew. “Do not open the manila folders until you are instructed to do so. I will give the folder to who I feel is more fit as your team leader.” He had given the folder for one group to Ina, who blinked. He also handed the tests back.

 

Ina had a 100. Sesshomaru had a 100. Inuyasha had a 16. Naraku sat at his desk. “Open your folders. Inside should be the information you need. Your three teammates, the project, the requirements, and if there are any questions, raise your hand.”

 

Ina opened the folder, her heart sinking at a name in her team. Sesshomaru glanced over her shoulder and narrowed his eyes. The paper said:

 

Your team: Inuyami Ina, Kuroneko Kurobara, Taisho Inuyasha, and Taisho Sesshomaru

Your project: To create a movie about Feudal Japan based on your previous knowledge.

 

Requirements:

There must be one priestess

There must be a feudal lord

There must be some sort of conflict

There must be one fight. Be careful not to harm yourselves.

The costumes must make sense

Names of everyone helping will be listed.

You may ask me for assistance if you require it. But only to play a part that you have already come up with.

 

You may not partner up with other teams. I hope that you do well!

Ina sighed. She was team captain, apparently. She got up with her normal binder and walked over to Inuyasha and Kurobara. They looked up at Ina. “Come on,” Ina began, “we're a team. Let's start planning what we're gonna do this weekend.”

“Alright,” Kurobara replied as Sesshomaru and Inuyasha engaged in a glaring contest.
