“The Inutaisho Legacy” chapter nineteen
Good Tidings

“I still don't know why I have to come along,” Inuyasha huffed. He wore one of Kagome's school bags slung across one shoulder, Inutaro in his sling across his other side. Their pup was crawling and scooting rapidly now, and didn't like the sling anymore. Unless Papa did his long leaps, then he didn't mind. Kagome gave it to him good when he did that, so Inuyasha had to limit the times to impress his son.

“Because Koga asked us, Inuyasha! His son has been born, don't you think it's an honor to meet his family?” Kagome asked. She twirled a lock of her loose hair and swept it over her shoulder, adjusting her long skirt. She opted to wear neither kimono nor school uniform, wearing casual dress clothing from her era. Many eta still have her strange looks, if they hadn't recognized Lady Kagome wife of Inuyasha, but she didn't mind.
Inuyasha sighed and looked down into his son's inquisitive face. “Yeah well, he better not torture our kid! He better be nice.”

“I'm sure he will,” Kagome assured him, and clenched a small fist against her heart. It was well and good how their lives had turned out, she reflected. She was mated to Inuyasha, had his son, had him named Sesshomaru's heir even, which mattered somewhat to this youkai world. However, Koga, like Hojo, was a possibility in this verdant green world in the feudal past. He truly had cared for and loved her, Kagome knew, and her heart was always fond and tender for him. He had rescued her from Sesshomaru's shugenjas and the depth of his actions would never fade in her heart. Had she never met Inuyasha she could see herself easily falling for him and becoming his mate. But she had met Inuyasha, in the first ten minutes of climbing into the feudal past even. So Koga had to find his own way and find another to love him. Kagome was truly glad for him, but at the same time, she felt the tiniest bit of heartbreak that she was not his sole focus.
It was pure selfishness to think that, Kagome knew, and so she resolved to be happy for her dear friend. She couldn't wait to meet his mate Ayame again and see what his son looked like. Thanks to Inuyasha's human heritage, and Sesshomaru taking a human mate as well, Kagome was unused to knowing what to expect to see in a full youkai infant. But she couldn't blame her heart for wanting Inuyasha. She had always loved him, but sometimes the possibilities were heartbreaking to remember.

Inuyasha snuffed and laid one free hand on his mate's slim shoulder and squeezed. Kagome looked down at his claws, never fearing he'd harm her.
“Don't feel that way, love. You have my heart always, don't put it aside for those useless thoughts.” His words were confidant but Inuyasha's golden eyes held a trace of sadness. Kagome smiled and laid her hand over his.

“I won't, Inuyasha. You are my heart, and you always will be,” she whispered. Inuyasha smiled tenderly, then snapped to attention when a band of youkai surrounded them.

“These are the guests Koga was talking about?” One tall youkai wearing breastplate, loincloth and little else asked. His long hair blew in the breeze and his wolf's tail whipped around his hip. The other wolf youkai laughed and peered curiously at the human, partial human and half human.
“A human though? This was his Kagome-sama?” one young wolf asked. He tugged at Kagome's sleeve curiously. Inutaro bared his two teeth and growled. A kitten wouldn't have been intimidated, but it made Inuyasha's heart swell despite himself.

“Hey, a hanyou pup!” A chubby wolf youkai commented, blinking down at Inutaro. Inuyasha's thin chest puffed out.
“Actually, I'm the half one here, buddy. This is my son,” he growled. The wolf youkai murmured amongst themselves.

“We came to see Koga,” Kagome said helpfully. “He invited my family and I here.”

“We don't know, we didn't know the Kagome Koga always talked about was a human…”

“KAGOME-nee-sama!!” Someone shouted. Two wolves raced up and surrounded the surprised student and lifted her up by the elbows into the air between them. Kagome suddenly recognized Hiko and Ginta and laughed aloud, feeling Inuyasha untense through their link. The air rushed from her lungs with an audible `whuff' indicating Inuyasha's one moment panic releasing itself.
“Hiko! Ginta! You came to escort us?” she laughed, kicking her feet until they let her down, each taking a position beside her.

“Of course, Kagome-nee-sama! Koga wouldn't let it be any other than us!” Hiko winked. Ginta looked around at their uneasy comrades and mock whispered.

“The other fellows are new, Kagome-nee-sama, won't you forgive their rudeness?”

“HEY! We just didn't think it was okay to let a human in here!” the tall slim youkai growled and puffed his chest out. The others took up similar poses of attempting to salvage their pride.
“Tell that to Koga, you mutts!” Hiko snarled in response and he nodded in satisfaction as the other youkai paled and shuffled nervously.

Inuyasha slung his loose arm over Kagome's shoulders and nodded at the two right hands of the Wolf Prince. “I won't ever forget how you helped us back then. You helped in a time where we needed every ally we could get.”

Hiko and Ginta nodded gravely, and swept through the useless guards, escorting Inuyasha's family through.
“Fall in, wolves!” Ginta barked and the guards made two rows, forming a youkai escort as they walked over rocky paths to the caves above.

“I still can't get over how much fun that is,” Hiko laughed as they strolled at the head of the column with their friends.
“You two seem to be doing well!” Kagome said fondly. “How have things been in this region?”
“The Wolf keeping his promises to your clan?” Inuyasha pretended to grouse but Inutaro grabbed his shoulder and started to suck on his haori. Inuyasha grinned fiercely at his son and hugged him close.

“Koga leads with a steady and strong hand as always, Inuyasha-san! The elders of our tribes were beside themselves when he finally took Ayame-chan as his mate.” Ginta offered happily.
“Your son is the very image of your mate as well, Kagome-nee-sama! You should be very proud,” Hiko commented shyly and Kagome took his arm, smiling.

“How is Koga's son? Is he healthy?” Kagome asked nervously as they came closer to their intended destination. She licked dry lips and hugged Hiko's arm. Hiko smiled protectively at her and patted her hand.

“He's hale and hearty and always at Ayame's breast. Don't worry, Kagome-nee-sama, Koga's been talking about you all week. He couldn't wait to see you all again.”

“Yeah, and to see our kid, too. He's never met the pup,” Inuyasha said. He bounced Inutaro's sling in the crook of one arm as the group traveled into the cool dampness of the caves. Small cook fires and torches within made the homes in the earth visible as one progressed further inside.
Kagome's eyes slowly adjusted but Inuyasha's golden eyes merely gleamed. Taking a look at their son, the edges of his dark eyes gleamed with gold also, indicating his sharper vision. Stooped old male youkai with twisted beards and soft teeth bowed slightly at the sides of matronly wolf women. Inuyasha inclined his head politely and rubbed Inutaro's back as he purred contently.

Then they were led to the grandest home far back in the earth and Kagome's heart thudded hard. Inuyasha lent her warmth through their link and her steps did not falter. Hiko and Ginta each took hold of the skin draped across, serving as a door and announced Kagome and Inuyasha's presence.

“Koga, Kagome-nee-sama and Inuyasha are here,” Hiko murmured.
“With their son!” Ginta added helpfully.

A loud guffaw sounded from within and Koga held open the skin with one strong arm. His eyes were lined with exhaustion but he looked as trim and strong as ever. Inuyasha noted the lines of sleepless nights with an infant pup and shared a look of male commiseration with his erstwhile rival.
“Welcome,” Koga said grandly and gestured them all inside. Hiko and Ginta stayed outside on guard as Kagome and Inuyasha darted inside slowly.

Ayame greeted their visitors from her bed by the fire, a dark bundle squirming in her arms. Kagome's mouth went dry and her eyes softened. Koga grinned, chucking Kagome's chin fondly and gestured her close with a hand against her back.

“Our son, Taki,” Koga said proudly and even Inuyasha couldn't begrudge the pride in his voice. “Ayame, hold him up for `em!”

“Oooh….” Kagome whispered. She clutched Koga's arm and smiled up at him. Their eyes when meeting noted the possibility of each other far passed by, but soothed when they heard Ayame and Inuyasha greet each other.

“That's a fine boy you have there,” Inuyasha said gruffly. Ayame smiled and cradled him close.
“And your son, Inuyasha-san, he is the very image of you,” she said sweetly. Koga and Kagome beamed with pride and laughed, looking at each other.

“Here, pup, say hello to Taki-chan,” Inuyasha took Inutaro out of his sling and held him down to the youkai infant. Inutaro babbled and pressed a clumsy kiss to the top of Taki's dark head. Taki hiccupped and batted a tiny fist at the older pup.
The parents laughed.

“I promise, to honor, cherish, protect, provide for, love…. Ow!” Shippou yelped. He stood, one foot nervously tapping as Miroku and Sango both tied and prepared him into his wedding kimono. Their children flocked around and over their parents, Miroku and Sango intent on helping poor Shippou, and merely shook an arm or leg to free their attentions.
“Hold still, Shippou, you're almost presentable,” Miroku said in a soothing tone. Hikaru clung to his leg and laughed when he merely waved it back and forth, giving her a ride. Souta knelt at Nozomi's side in the grass, his somber face serious as he regarded the tall kitsune. Shippou's hands wrung together and his mouth felt dry.
Sango handed him a dipper of water from a bucket at her side without asking and Shippou gave her a grateful smile.

“Thanks, Sango. I don't know what I'd do without you,” he confessed. Sango smiled and fixed his topknot elegantly.

“You probably wouldn't survive the day,” she teased. Miroku tightened Shippou's obi in his strong hands and adjusted it until the slimness of the kitsune's hips were defined. Shippou gasped.
“By the way, Sango, why did you make Kyoko-chan an herbal tea this morning?” Miroku demurred. Sango tossed her high ponytail over one shoulder and gave her husband a superior look.
“That is a matter between women. Let's just say we want to keep things as tight-lipped as possible until this wedding has passed,” she said sharply. Shippou grinned weakly and gestured nonchalantly as Miroku raised an eyebrow at him.

“Oh well, I can't punish you, we were joined far longer before we were married,” Miroku said fondly. Hikaru laughed against his leg as if getting the joke.

“I just hope her father doesn't catch wind of the fact,” Shippou said nervously. He gripped his hands so he wouldn't fuss at his immaculate appearance. Miroku's wedding kimono fit well, even if the shoulders were a bit loose. He just couldn't rumple it; he wanted everything to be as perfect as it could be today.
Kyoko had been having conniptions for the past few days, adding on to his stress. He just wanted the ceremony to be perfect, the feast afterwards to go smoothly, and to be abed with Kyoko. Her stomach was tender in the first stages of her pregnancy, and he wanted her to be bound to them by ceremony before her father noticed.

“Hey! Son-in-law! Are you ready already? The priest isn't gonna wait all day!” Hida called. Shippou straightened, his tail sticking straight up and gulped.
“C-coming, Father-in-law!” he called. He wrung his hands and gave Sango and Miroku an anguished look.

“Don't worry, you'll be fine!” Miroku smiled. Sango straightened Shippou's lapels and leaned close.
“Don't let Kyoko-chan drink the sacramental sake. Get the priest to give her water instead,” she whispered. Shippou nodded nervously.
“I will….” He stammered.

“HEY! Come over here already, fox boy!” Hida growled. Shippou put some iron in his spine and walked over as tall as he could.

“I'm ready, Father-in-law…” Shippou stated. Hida looked far out of place in his own kimono, and his smile was even more hideous. Shippou gulped as the large farmer set the kitsune in place.

The Shinto ceremony went off without a hitch and Shippou was drastically relieved. Kyoko was radiant in her white kimono and peered shyly up at him through the wedding rites. Miroku must have grabbed the priest beforehand, for he slyly pulled a second bowl of clear liquid so casually nobody but he noticed, and thus Kyoko drank only water instead of sake. Shippou wouldn't have his kit damaged.

Kagome and Inuyasha came of course, along with Koga and his family, Sesshomaru with Rin and Jaken. Some of the villagers didn't know what to think about the presence of obvious youkai, but they soon relaxed when Shun and Daisuke mingled easily with the outgoing Koga without weapons or animosity. Ataru, Yusaku and Tatsumaru came from the exterminator's village so it was a big event indeed.

Inutaro played with Nozomi in the grass under the careful watch of Hida's wife. The babies rolled and wrestled, shrieking happily. The sun set and the moon rose. The entire village celebrated with several bonfires, much eating and drinking. Young men conversed with girls and the couples paired off to dance. Hida, Koga, Inuyasha and Miroku all got Sesshomaru to drink with them and Sango's children found it fascinating to watch the tall pale youkai flush with intoxication.
After Shippou and his bride were seen off to their hut and the party continued, Inuyasha stopped at his wife's shoulder. Kagome looked up from her conversation with Sango and Ayame, staring up at her husband. As he grinned helplessly down at her, she got the meaning and took his hand.

“Excuse me, Sango, Ayame-chan,” Kagome blushed. Inuyasha had a few drinks in him and leered happily. His large hands placed themselves over her hips as they walked away from the revelry. Sango sighed and watched her husband match Hida and Sesshomaru drink for drink. Koga had stopped at five, and was far from being drunk. Ayame laughed as she watched her mate cheer on his friends and bounced their son. Taki lay fast asleep pressed to the warmth of her breast and he rubbed his tiny cheek against the fabric of her haori.
“Our husbands are having fun,” Ayame noted. Inutaro and Nozomi lay sprawled across each other, exhausted from their play. Sango leaned on one arm next to them and stroked the fine dark hairs on her daughter's scalp.
“They'll stop soon enough if they want any fun in the marriage bed,” Sango observed and Ayame's eyes twinkled. Her tail swished around her hip as she turned to the human exterminator.
“Koga's been at me lately about that. How soon after your first did you go back to your husband's embrace?” the wolf youkai asked. Sango rubbed Inutaro's back, watching her oldest two hug Koga's legs. The wolf prince laughed and reached down to pick each ningen up in his arms. Souta clutched his neck while Hikaru squealed. Sango knew their employees were `escorting' Hida's daughters so to speak, so it was a relief that Koga had taken a liking to her children.
Sango smirked and touched Taki's cheek. “My midwife told me over a month after the child's birth should be sufficient, but you may have healed faster. You do move faster don't you?” she asked, referring to Ayame's full youkai heritage. Ayame nodded and regarded her strong husband thoughtfully. She ached for him.

“Yes I do… I suppose anytime soon then,” she grinned cheekily. Sango laughed with her.

Inuyasha held Kagome from behind and followed her closely as they walked a ways into the nearby forest. They stepped over and away from coupling pairs eager to participate in their own celebrations and so far in only Inuyasha's golden eyes could help them along without stumbling over anything. Kagome clung to her husband's arms gladly, then surprised him by scrambling up onto his back as she used to. Inuyasha cradled her weight in his arms and leaned forward as he stalked around the trees.
“This is a good spot,” Kagome heard her husband say as she was let down. Her kimono hung loosely against her legs as her feet touched onto the grass. Inuyasha turned and grabbed Kagome tightly. His eager mouth descended down upon hers and the two kissed hungrily. Kagome smiled when Inuyasha's hands dipped low and under her rear, rubbing around the curves of her thighs. He lifted and pushed Kagome back up against a large oak tree. Her legs wound around his hips as she rested against his crotch and up against the tree. Inuyasha's busy hands tried to tug her kimono open as he suckled the side of her neck.

Kagome moaned appreciatively and wound her fingers through his hair. She felt her husband stiffen as he hissed when her tongue traced the outline of one ear. Her thighs tightened around his hips, feeling him push the bulge beneath his sash where she wanted it most. “Inuyasha… you didn't have too much to drink, did you?” she whispered. Inuyasha lifted his head and ravaged her mouth with his.

“Only enough to quicken the blood… kami I want you, Kagome,” he raggedly whispered. Kagome rubbed his shoulders and tried to angle her hands under his haori. Inuyasha propped Kagome up against the tree, his hips holding her up as he tore his clothing open down the front, and went for his sash. Kagome kissed his parted lips, mingling her tongue against his and tasting the sake in his mouth. Her kimono was torn open and aside and Inuyasha pushed his hips forward. Kagome's fingers clawed his shoulders as he pressed in firmly. Inuyasha's claws scratched her thighs as he pushed her back into the tree. Kagome nipped Inuyasha's neck and cried out against his flesh as she came, tightening her thighs around him. Inuyasha braced one hand against the bark of the tree and sighed in agreement, sprouting his seed into his mate in several coursing waves. His cock twitched within her and Kagome cupped his face, kissing him sweetly.

“Enough to warm you huh?” she asked breathlessly. Inuyasha laughed and pressed his hips against her softly. His roaming hands didn't find the feel of the patch on her but he didn't notice in the excitement of their joining. Kagome squeezed him, feeling warmth to her mate with that thought. Inuyasha's knees buckled and he sank to his bottom on the grass. Kagome stayed on him and pushed him on his back. Inuyasha's head tilted back as she enticed him to full peak with just the mere softest of kisses along his upper torso. Her warmth gripped his half erection just right and her nipples ghosted against his sides. Inuyasha laid his arms over his head and let Kagome pin him down.

Kagome took him as eagerly as he had taken her against the tree. Her mate howled under her, worn out beyond belief when she finally let him down.
“We gotta get the pup!” Inuyasha panted under her. Kagome helped him up and they rearranged clothing and shambled back towards the village on weak legs. When they returned, Ayame and Koga were leaning against each other, their son in Ayame's arms. Souta and Hikaru were passed out asleep on Miroku and Inutaro lay in Nozomi's blanket with her. And Sesshomaru and Rin were nowhere to be seen.

* * * *

Rin walked behind Sesshomaru's left shoulder as they crossed the wide farm fields of the village. The occasional human that was out and about after the wedding feast gawked at Sesshomaru's paleness but he only serenely glided past. Rin stayed behind his elbow the entire time and watched his left hand from the fold of his long sleeve.

Once they were safely apart, Rin dared to take that same hand for she didn't trust herself to see in the pitch darkness. He carefully picked his way across and inclined his head to watch the moon. It was waxing as thickly as his heated blood. Damn his brother for pushing the sake on him. Ten cups was not enough to put a powerful youkai such as the Lord of the Western Lands into oblivion, but it was enough to tinge his usually pale cheeks a deep pink behind the stripes on his cheeks.
“My lord?” she whispered. Sesshomaru lowered himself to her wandering hands. They smoothed over his cheeks and over the warmth in them. Sesshomaru's lips darted upward and his eyes were as hot as the sun as they watched Rin through the night. Rin's arms lifted around his neck when he pulled her against him. He kissed her lips, then down along her neck as his hands expertly untied and pulled open the intricate layers to her immaculate kimono. Rin's chin lifted against her lord's shoulder, her cheek pressed against the fine linen of his haori as she gasped when his hands cupped her bare breasts.
“They feel tender…” Sesshomaru purred, stimulating the tips until they were erect. Rin rubbed his shoulders and ran her fingers through his hair. Her gaze was half-lidded and hazed as she threw her head back. Sesshomaru leaned far down in her embrace to stimulate the sensitive buds, his mouth rooting on instinct like an infant.
“Could you be pupped?” he growled. Rin pressed her hands flush against the front of her lord's haori and felt the rumble even through the silk. She wordlessly could only nod her head.
“I could be…. my lord, we have no way of knowing…if I am yet…” she gasped, distracted as his hands ran under her kimono further, preparing her for him. Her belly brushed against the jut of his arousal pressing against the front of his hakama. Sesshomaru cupped the back of Rin's neck and angled her up for a deep kiss, pressing against her. Rin hugged his neck and let herself be held tightly. Sesshomaru's hips moved forward against her as if trying to mate her through their clothing.

“My lord, let me…” she whispered. Sesshomaru stood tall and pale, his lips quirking in a rare smile as his mate's small fingers deftly untied the knot in his obi and tugged his hakama low, pulling him out. His pale manhood stood out against the cool night but Rin kept him warm. When his lady made to kneel before him, Sesshomaru stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. Sesshomaru smirked and kissed her again.

“Don't. This Sesshomaru is ready for you,” he vowed. Rin stood on her tiptoes as his hands errantly roamed her as he spoke, pinching a nipple. His other hand skimmed low down her belly and then between her thighs. Rin grasped Sesshomaru's arms as his thumb circled her jewel and enticed her. Her warmth dripped around his fingers and The Lord of the Western Lands smiled.

“If I am not….” Rin whispered. Her bold hands circled his erection and squeezed softly. Sesshomaru let out a rare gasp of surprise and threw his head back. Emboldened by his response, Rin caressed him from root to tip.
“Don't, stop. This Sesshomaru wants his seed to quicken in you, not on your beautiful hands,” Sesshomaru hoarsely said. Rin squeezed him once more for good measure and shrugged her kimono open the rest of the way. Sesshomaru gathered her close and kissed her longingly, his sweetness hinting at further pleasures to come. Rin moaned happily into his mouth as she was lowered to the ground. Sesshomaru spread her against the earth and plowed her with languid strokes. This time was not about a quick release or losing each other in the moment. They knew their limitations and each other's and stretched it as long as they could. When Sesshomaru let himself climax, sowing his seed into Rin's gaping core, he grunted loudly. Rin caressed his face and shoulders as bright lights exploded in his gaze. Sesshomaru tilted his chin back and pumped her softly.

“I pray my lord is pleased,” Rin whispered. She nibbled on his pointed ear, cradling his weight comfortably against her. Sesshomaru trembled leaning on his elbows and nodded, his eyes closed. He opened them and looked down at his mate.
“This Sesshomaru thinks this was a good effort,” he crooned. He smelled the fertility of his seeds nestling deep inside Rin's warmth and smiled.

End for now.
