Kanaye: Hello everyone! Anyway, once again I am skipping the characters. I just don't feel like talking about them outside of the fic at the moment, so for now- I don't own the character now here is chapter 8!!! Enjoy it people- and please review!

Chapter 8: One month anniversary

"Inuyasha, I'm sorry but I have to cancel our date tonight- Sango needs me." Said Kagome. Inuyasha nodded understandingly and gave her a hug before she walked off with Rin to comfort Sango.

"Do you think we should go to Miroku?" asked Inuyasha.

"No. He will be back in his own time and there is nothing we can say. He will have to work this out on his own." Sesshomaru said solemnly. The two walked into their apartments without another word.

Kagome stepped out of Rin's bedroom, closing the door quietly behind her. Sango was finally asleep. She had been crying for hours and the exhaustion finally caught up with her. Kagome heard the door handle moving again and then saw Rin tiptoe out as Kagome had done.

"I still can't believe they broke up." Whispered Rin.

"I know. They always seemed meant for each other. So happy- I wonder if there is more to this than Sango is telling."

"I don't know Kagome. From what she said, or what I could make out, was that Sango's art teacher was complimenting her on her work, a lot, and Miroku got so jealous of this guy that he tried to forbid her to ever see him again, which got her going on the trust thing, which as we witnessed just sort of blew up in their faces." Finished Rin breathlessly.

"Yah, I guess that trust is the main relationship killer. I just can't get over how Miroku looked though. I don't think I have ever seen any man cry before, or at least not like that. He was seriously hurt. I hope he is okay." Rin nodded.

"For now we will just have to be there for Sango and for Miroku. Just support them through this, and hope that it doesn't last long enough for us to be playing liaison."

"So you think they'll get back together?"

"I hope so. I really do." Rin finished as they walked down the hall for a snack. Rin put a bag of popcorn in the microwave and Kagome popped open a couple sodas. She took a large gulp before speaking.

"Rin- don't you think it's odd…"

"What?"

"Well that," Kagome blushed. "that me and Inuyasha haven't… haven't…"

"Had sex?" finished Rin shamelessly. "You have only known each other for a month! It's okay to take it slow. You should wait for the right moment. From what you tell me about your dates, he is pretty romantic, so I will bet you anything that when you do get that far- it will have been worth the wait." Rin took another sip of her soda. "Why did you bring it up anyway?" she asked.

"I don't know, maybe because of the whole one month anniversary thing. Whatever, let's just forget about it."

"Ok. So how are the lessons with Kaede?"

"I have only had one in the past month and all I did was learn how to summon my power up. I don't think I would actually be able to use it against anyone at this point." Kagome said.

"Well that's okay, you have plenty of time to master your powers." Kagome just took another sip of her soda.

Kagome blinked her eyes open and stretched her arms as she sat up in bed. She looked at her bed covers and saw rose petals sprinkled everywhere. Her eyes traveled across her room and she saw that there were more red rose petals scattered all over her bedroom. She stood up, neglecting her slippers, and walked into her living room to find a trail of rose petals leading to an enormous bouquet of long stem roses. There was a note attached to the magnificent arrangement. Kagome opened it up:

`There is one rose for every hour a day I spend thinking about you. Happy one month.

-Inuyasha'

Kagome counted the roses- there were 24. Her heart felt like it would melt. Her feet were of no assistance to her as her heart flew her into her room to get ready. 5 agonizing hours later, Kagome heard the doorbell ring. She flung open the door and threw herself into the man waiting for her.

"Oh thank you so much!!!" she squealed. She looked up to see…. THE DELIVERY GUY??? She quickly removed herself from the scrawny man. He snorted and adjusted his glasses which were broken in many places.

"Wow! I'm glad to know my work is appreciated! My first hug from a girl! I can't wait to tell mom!" he said excitedly in a high pitched, nasally voice. "Oh yah, here's your package." He said as he stuffed the box in her hands and strode off. Kagome closed her door, her face redder than a sunburned tomato.

Inuyasha stepped out of the elevator onto Kagome's floor, passing a small delivery guy that looked very pleased with himself. Inuyasha walked past and tried to ignore the horrible acne and then rapped on Kagome's door a few times. Kagome flung open the door as she did previously.

"What do you want now?!? It was a mistake alright!!!! Get over yourse…" she stopped dead in her tracks and realized that it was Inuyasha standing in the doorway. She was completely embarrassed. "Oh my god, Inuyasha I am so sorry I just thou…" again she was stopped but this time by Inuyasha pressing his lips upon hers, launching her into one of their famous, deep kisses. He pulled back brushed the hair out of Kagome's eyes.

"You're pretty cute when you're angry." He smirked as he stepped into Kagome's apartment. He heard the door close behind him, and the next thing he knew he was being flung onto the door, Kagome pressing her body up to him.

"Well you're pretty cute all the time." She said before letting her tongue do the rest of the talking. She pulled back for air.

"By the way, I love the flowers." She said softly. Inuyasha put his arm around her waist and pulled her next to him as they walked out of her apartment and down to her car.

"Well I am starved Inuyasha, where are we going for dinner anyway?" asked Kagome as she clicked her seatbelt on.

"You haven't heard of it." He replied.

"I think I know every restaurant in town. Try me."

"You won't know this one."

"And why not?"

"It's new- now give it a rest, will ya?"

Kagome crossed her legs and arms and pouted. After about 15 minutes, Inuyasha turned into a narrow alleyway. Kagome looked skeptically at Inuyasha, who caught this look and rolled his eyes.

"I would think that by now you trust me enough to at least pick a good restaurant."

"Something can be good and illegal at the same time ya know!" As the car stopped Kagome decided to give it up and just enjoy herself. She stepped out of the car and joined Inuyasha on the other side of the car. They linked arms as Inuyasha led her through a small door. It was completely dark and Inuyasha felt Kagome tighten a bit against him. They kept walking down the small, dark hall until they reached another door. Inuyasha opened it up and Kagome stepped breathlessly into a large room with a small candlelit table. Not only was there a candle on the table but there were candles everywhere. Kagome had never seen so many candles in her life. Inuyasha kissed her hand and pulled her chair out for her. He took a seat and grinned at her reaction.

"Like it?"

"Like it??? This is gorgeous!! But, I don't understand, what is this place- did you just rent it out? Where are we?" Inuyasha laughed at her softly.

"Questions later, right now, we eat." He removed the lid off of a traditional platter to reveal spaghetti and meatballs. He also unfolded a cloth covering breadsticks in a basket and pulled a bottle of aged wine from an ice bucket. He popped open the wine and poured it into his and Kagome's glasses.

They raised their glasses and clinked them together lightly before taking a sip and dishing out the food. They talked lightly between bites for a while and then Inuyasha pulled out a small remote from his pocket and clicked it to the right. Romantically soothing jazz was issued from a small CD player.

"Dance with me Inuyasha." Kagome pulled him out of his seat. She draped her arms over his shoulders and he pulled her body tightly against his own. As they slowly swayed to the music, Inuyasha leaned in and kissed her. Kagome broke the kiss slowly and rested her head on his shoulder.

"So can you tell me where we are now?" she said softly.

"That depends. Do you like this place?"

"Of course I do."

"Well it's yours." Kagome stopped moving altogether.

"W-what?" she cracked.

"This place- it's yours now. This is your restaurant. You can change it however you want; trust me I have the money. Happy one month"

"How did you know?" she whispered barely audible.

"I never forget anything you say Kagome. Not one thing."

"Oh god…" she trailed off as she looked around the building. Inuyasha chuckled.

"What are you thankin' him for?" Kagome turned and embraced him.

"I love you Inuyasha. I love you so much." She kissed him fiercely and then pulled away, still holding onto his hand.

"This is mine… this is mine!!!" she squealed in delight and jumped up and down in excitement. "Thank you, thank you thank you!!!!!! I love you!!" She kissed him again.

"I love you too." He replied. As Kagome calmed down to mere shock, they began to dance again. Inuyasha couldn't help noticing how perfectly her body fit against his. By the time they stopped dancing, the candles had burned down and the room was considerably darker. Kagome blew out the remaining candles as Inuyasha cleaned up the table. As they walked to the back door Inuyasha pulled a medium, solid gold key out of his pocket and closed it in Kagome's hands.

"It's that master key." Kagome smiled and locked up before they walked back to Inuyasha's car. As Kagome walked to her side of the car, she slowed down. She felt like she was being watched… She jumped as she heard a bang on a trashcan, but calmed down when she saw a cat emerge from behind it. Something still didn't feel right though. Inuyasha got into the car and Kagome heard him starting up the engine. He stuck his head out of the car window.

"Are you coming?" Kagome nodded at him.

"Yah, I just…" she was cut off as she felt cold hands grasp over her mouth. Before she had time to react she felt the icy wind whip at her face as she was lifted up onto the edge of the roof. Inuyasha jolted out of the car and looked up but could only see darkness.

"KAGOME!" he shouted. Kagome looked down at the panicked Inuyasha, desperately trying to scream out to him. She felt unpleasantly hot breath on her ear.

"Hello Kagome. You really have grown into a beautiful woman…." He whispered, moving his hand over her breast. Kagome had had enough. She didn't know who this guy was, but she was not taking anymore. She made a fist and pounded down as hard as she could on his stiffened manhood.

"ARGHH!! YOU FUCKING WENCH!!!" he turned her around forcefully and smashed his back hand onto her cheek, sending Kagome flying off the building. Inuyasha saw a figure come down and slam motionless as a rag-doll onto the top of his car, and slide down onto the hood, setting his car alarm off.

"KAGOME!!" he cried urgently running to her. He checked her pulse. She was just unconscious. He growled deep in his throat.

"Who did this to you…. SHOW YOURSELF COWARD!!!" he threw his fist in the air for affect. Nothing happened. He flexed his claws with threatening cracks.

"FINE THEN I'M COMING FOR YOU!!!" he leapt up and onto the top of the building that Kagome had fallen from. The shadowy figure saw Inuyasha coming at full forced and swiftly flipped off the side off the building passing Inuyasha on his way down. He landed crouched, but wasted no time. Inuyasha looked down after landing, just in time to see the figure lunge at Kagome, grab her by the waste and sprint off in the air.

"Damn!" Inuyasha took off in the same direction as the kidnapper, only to be stopped by an invisible barrier. He fell to the ground with a thud, to find nothing to comfort him but the incessant beeping from his car. He pounded the ground in fury. As he looked up he saw a sort of mirror materializing in front of him. He picked it up. It was about the size of a small TV screen.

"What the….?" He trailed off as he examined the mirror.

"Just think of it as a parting gift. With this, you can observe everything that happens in case you don't make it in person." The deep voice was followed with a cruel laugh. "Enjoy." Inuyasha looked around.

"Who are you!?" he shouted angrily. There was no answer. He sniffed the air. Not only had the voice sounded familiar, but that scent…. He wasn't just going to sit around and wait. Inuyasha lifted his sharpened claws up and lunged at the barrier.

"IRON REAVER SOUL STEALER!!!" red slashing struck the barrier. Although Inuyasha was thrown back from it again, he could sense it weakening. He lunged at the barrier again.

`Hold on Kagome, I'm coming…'

Kagome blinked her eyes open slowly. Her vision was blurry and she couldn't make out anything in the lighting. As she lifted her head, it pounded violently. She grimaced in pain, as she racked her mind for any memory of what had happened or where she was. The previous incident flooded back into her head with full force. She had been kidnapped and when she tried to get free, she was knocked out…. Now she was here…. The question was where was here…. She suddenly realized that she was in standing up position. She tried to move but she couldn't. She felt tight bindings of some kind on her wrists and ankles. Her legs were spread apart, each ankle on a sort of metal pole. Her arms were also spread as such above her head. Her position resembled an X. She struggled, but had no success in getting free.

"Inuyasha!" she called out. She heard foot steps echoing towards her. She felt her heart beat out of control.

"W-who's there?" she said with as much confidence as she could, to conceal her fear.

"I see that you are finally up. Good- I wouldn't want you to miss any of the fun." Kagome strained her eyes to see who was standing there, and although she couldn't see him, she could practically feel the smile playing on his face. She heard two claps and the lights came up enough that Kagome could make out her location. It was a large empty room with large brick walls and a concrete floor. No windows. No doors. Wait- there was a large cellar door in the ceiling, but the chances of her reaching it were slim.

"That's better." Said the strangers voice again.

She looked ahead again to meet with handsome features, but the coldest, cruelest eyes she had ever seen.

"Who, are you?" she managed to get out.

"If you must know." He walked up and forcefully pressed his lips against hers. She recoiled her head and gritted her teeth at him. He smirked. "I am Naraku."
