Chapter 1: Field Trip?

 

Kagome was in a panic, class was almost over and she still hasn't finished the test! `I'm never going to be able to pass the exams' she sighed. Turning back to the test she looked at the problem again. `4y²-x²-16y+2x+11=0 is either a/n A Hyperbola, B Parabola, C Circle, or D Ellipse' it was the last problem in the exam and she couldn't get it. Then the bell rang `well, c is average' so Kagome bubbled in `C' and turned the exam in. Leaving math class, she met up with Eri to go to World Geography.

 

“Hey Kagome! I heard that we're having a field trip” said Eri

 

“Really? When, and where to?” asked Kagome. Eri shrugged before sitting down just before the bell rang.

 

“Alright class, settle down. There's been a rumor going around about a field trip” The class waited with anticipation “and its true. We will take a trip to Kenya to take part in an African Safari adventure next month” Everyone started talking excitedly “We get to miss school!” “I've never left Japan before” “Where do you get a passport?” Kagome sat staring at her desk `I can't leave Inu-Yasha…or the shard hunting' The teacher raised her hand which quieted the class “In order to go though, you must have your parents sign the permission slip. Also I would like you to do a research project.” The class groaned “It can be on the culture, people, or a favorite animal of yours. The project will be worth three grades and will be your `ticket' to go. The school board has agreed to pay in full for the trip, the only money you will need is for personal spending. Any questions?”

 

“Where can we get passports?” asked a boy

 

“We will take a smaller trip a week before to get them as a class”

 

Kagome spoke up “If we can't go, could we do the project as extra credit?”

 

The teacher turned to her “That wouldn't be fair to the rest of the class. I want the project if you go or not”

 

~After school at the Higurashi Shrine~

 

“I'm home!” said Kagome, permission slip in hand

 

“About time wench”

 

Kagome turned around “Inu-Yasha! I told you I would be back tomorrow” she hid the permission slip behind her back. Inu-Yasha saw and snatched it from her.

 

“What's this?....Africa is near by right?”

 

Kagome fumed “Osuwari!” ::Fwump:: Kagome grabbed the paper back “It doesn't matter, I can't go anyways” Kagome stormed inside and went to her computer. Signing on, she went to Google© and typed in `African Tribes'. Inu-Yasha came up and watched as she scanned through some articles.

 

“Kagome, go back to that other page…” She went back to a picture of a necklace “Recognize something wench?” Kagome looked at the picture more closely

 

“There's shards of the Shikon Jewel on it!” She hurriedly read the paragraph underneath “Its in a museum in Kenya, that's where we're supposed to go!”

 

“You mean that paper you had will get us there?”

 

“I don't know about you, you don't go to my school. I'll go on the trip and find a way in, can't be that hard right?”

 

 

It's a really short chapter I know ^_^' Beginnings are always slow
