The love trap

Chapter 1

 

The sun is setting, casting purple rays on the gray sky. Suddenly, the wind starts to whistle, throwing small leaves into a jittery dance in the air.

Two demons are fighting fiercely just above the forest. One of them is a flying dragon, a very powerful youkai from the northern lands. His small, red eyes are staring, cold and furious, at a certain overconfident demoness. She had just repelled one of his most dangerous attacks and is now laughing with her usual arrogance.

 

“Do you really think you can defeat me with such a weak attack? I am Kagura, the Wind Sorceress and the last thing you will see before you die.”

 

With those words she opened her fan and threw her deadly twisters towards the dragon. To her surprise, the attack wasn't fast and strong enough, as the dragon managed to fly above it and, in a split second, she was hit by his blue fire. Luckily, her reflexes were quick and she could hide behind her feather just in time, but had to release it and go down into the forest. This was harder than she had thought. What was Naraku thinking? Was she in a real danger? There was no time for this, though. She had to fight…or run. The dragon seemed to read her mind as he cut her off and before she knew it, she was thrown back into the nearest tree.

A sharp scream made Sesshomaru turn his head. He suddenly recognized that scent…but he could also smell blood and that made him feel strangely upset. It was like he was drawn to her. He had to know what was happening. Of course, it was sheer curiosity, he thought.

When he got there, Kagura was barely standing and sending desperate blows to the dragon. It seemed to work, though, as the youkai was shaking harder and harder and he finally hit the ground. Safe at last, the wind sorceress slowly fell to the ground too, hurt and exhausted. Sensing that she was quietly being watched, she opened her eyes and there he was..Sesshomaru was standing there, in front of her, looking magnificent, as always. That moment she knew…it really worked.

 

Three days earlier…

Naraku has gone too far this time. It was too much to ask from her. How could she ever do it? How can she even get near Sesshomaru? She's but a small bug to him. Unless…maybe there is a way after all. The only way. It will mean risking her life…Funny though…she doesn't really own her life. Therefore she has nothing to lose. Yeah…she'll fight him. No matter what.

 

Rin was sleeping next to Jaken after having played with him all day, under the apparently indifferent watch of her Sesshomaru-sama.

All of the sudden, he felt a change in the wind and went to meet again that annoying Kagura. She's arrogant, disrespectful and cunning. How come I hadn't got rid of her by now? Well…let's see what is it that she wants now. Maybe this time she'll give me a reason good enough to kill her.

 

“I see you found me before I found you, Sesshomaru-sama”, Kagura said with a mischievous smile.

“What do you want wich?”

“Such a cold answer…as usually…Well..I am here to…dare you.”

“Hmph. So you whish to die all of the sudden. Why?”

“You are underestimating me.” Her voice was soft, yet strong. Not a trace of the immense fear that was consuming her inside. “I can't lose.”

“Oh? We'll see about that. Go on…dare me.” This will be interesting…although easy.

Kagura didn't waste any more time and used her fan to send her powerful twisters towards Sessomaru, but he simply went through them like it was nothing and before she knew it he was holding her by the throat. His golden eyes were even more fascinating when seen up-close. Kagura felt like melting under his touch but the pain of his grip brought her back to reality. She managed to show a satisfied grin while thrusting her long nails into his hand. Sesshomaru immediately felt a strange sting and then something hot running through his veins, making him dizzy. The wich is trying to poison me. Like I'm not immune to anything. Hmph..Her life is mine. Now die! But something was stopping him from tightening his grip. Somehow, Kagura knew it and pulling herself away, she flew into the night. What just happened here?…

 

Back to the present….

“You're not getting away this time Kagura.”

Did he just called me by my name?

“I'm not planning on it”, she smiled.
