[A/N] People! I got a review! I very good one at that! ^^ Little Owl rocks! XD so in honor of a review I post chapter 2! ^_____^

: The Maiden of My Dreams :

When she first opened her eyes, she saw nearly darkness but as soon as she tugged the blankets off her head she had a clear view of the clock. 'Another five minutes and I would have been woken by that irritating buzzing noise.' She stretched her mouth open wide to yawn as she reached over and blindly turned the alarm off. She then completely ripped the covers off and stretched. She smiled as she herd all her joints crack, the sweet music of the morning. After a few more pops she sat up and hopped out of bed. Even while she was walking the music continued as her ankles cracked and popped all the way to the bathroom.

She was sitting at her kitchen table enjoying some blueberry waffles she made for herself. She then glanced up at the clock and decided it wouldn't be too early to leave. She took the last bite, placed the plate and fork in the sink and picked up her schoolbag. She shuffled through the papers, notebooks, and textbooks to make sure she had all the necessaries for school and most importantly her homework. After she made sure it was all there, she headed to the door when she stopped and walked back a bit until she was standing next to a table. Slowly she turned toward the table and picked up one of the several pictures that stood on the surface. This picture was of a boy who looked only to be ten or so. He had black hair pulled up in a short ponytail and was smiling for the camera as he stood in their old garden. Slowly she brought her finger up to touch the boy's face. “Morning Kohaku. I'll be back after school. Watch over the place, `kay?” She smiled but she was on the brink of tears as she placed the picture down. She rubbed her eyes then walked to and through the awaiting door.

The girl in the corner desk of the crowded classroom let out a soft sigh. Last row, farthest over from the door, right next to the window, which she was currently gazing out of. It was so noisy from the morning chitchat of the other students that she could not even hear her own sigh. This girl had the same uniform as every other girl in the classroom. It was so plain, a simple long sleeved ocean blue jacket, white blouse, and the same blue knee length skirt. Some of the other schools had a bit more high tech outfits but the public schools still offered these things. You think they would have updated a little… (A/N: He he he ^^;….) Even though it was a rule that hair longer than the shoulder must be in a ponytail, she didn't bother. So what if her hair went down to her waist. She enjoyed watching her long brown hair flick around in the warm breeze that was entering through the open window. It was September and the warmness of summer still lingered in the air though it was noticeable as it started growing a little bit colder each day. One sound did come over the noise that was the vibrating of many vocal cords. The door opening as the sensei walked in was the sound that caused all others to stop. She didn't turn to face him as everyone else went scrambling to fall into their desks before Myoga-sensei noticed that they were misbehaving. She just kept starring out the window like she always did.

"Good morning class! I can see you all have your eyes at least half-open this morning! That's a good sign that we might actually make some progress today." He said louder than any normal person should as so to wake everyone up. There was a few grunts in acknowledgement of the poor joke before they replied "Good morning Myoga-sensei..." Everyone mumbled semi-together with a few people yawning in the middle. All the energy that they had just 3 seconds ago was completely gone. It was like Myoga-sensei had a switch and whenever he walked into a room the flick of his wrist made all energy disappear. He did this act everyday for he had the power until the day where they were released for two and a half months.

Their sensei was shorter than half the students were. He had white hair with that bald spot right smack on the top of his head. He also had abnormally big eyes that just seemed black with no iris to show of. But besides the odd looks, Myoga-sensei was one of the more intelligent teachers in the school, but alas, with all the goofballs in his classes no one really respected that.

"Well I know you guys always appreciate this type of stuff..... We should be welcoming a new student today. She'll be arriving in a few moments so I won't start our lecture until she's here and in a seat. So feel free to quietly chat for the next minute or two." Everyone forgot the quite part and immediately started gossiping about what the new student would be like as Myoga-sensei pulled out his lesson plan for the day. It was very uncommon for a new student to come after school had started.

But sure enough, a nock was heard on the door a few minutes later and everyone fell silent. "Come on in!" Myoga-sensei rang. The door opened slowly and a girl stepped in. She was just standing there in the doorway and every one knew she was very shy for right then her face was very pink. She had raven black hair that went down to a bit past her shoulders. She also had amazing light blue eyes. She then shut the door and looked down as she walked toward the teacher's desk. A few words were exchanged between her and Myoga-sensei before he looked up at the anticipating students.

"Class! May I introduce to you Miss Kagome Higurashi! Now let's see, where shall you sit..." Myoga glanced at the many empty desks and the eager students who wished to speak to her first. He then noticed Sango starring out the window again. 'Maybe if I put this girl in front of her, Sango will do something other then stare out that damn window...' "Ah! Right in front of Miss Sango!" Myoga-sensei looked at the girl gazing out the window waiting for a response. "Sango, raise your hand please." Still, she starred out the window... "Miss Sango would you like to tell us what it is outside that you're so interested in?" a few of the students chuckled but she didn't budge and just kept looking out the window. 'Alright, now she's just messing around' "SANGO! Raise your hand!" Myoga-sensei screamed. This got the whole class laughing but after a moment Sango obliged and raised her hand. Kagome glanced up only for a moment before she turned and bowed to Myoga-sensei them quickly made her way to her seat. "And Sango, please be Higurashi's guide for the day." Sango lazily nodded her head as Myoga-sensei went into his long lecture on what they would be going over this year for history class.

After five minutes Sango leaned forward and tapped the new girl's shoulder. She then slightly turned around. “Yes?” she whispered.

“Hiya, my name is Sango but you can just call me Sana-chan.” Sango smiled

“I already knew that but I guess it's better for you to really introduce yourself. My name is Higurashi Kagome but I guess you can just call me Kame-chan.” She smiled back.

“Ladies! Our eyes should be going back and forth between the board and your notebook as you take notes.” Myoga-sensei sighed from his desk. They both returned to `taking notes' for a minute before Kagome slightly turned around again and they both silently giggled. “Are we note taking?” Myoga-sensei sighed again from behind his grade book.

After another minute, Sango tapped Kagome's shoulder again. “I already knew that too. Is it ok if I drop the chan and just call you Kame?” Sango whispered after they were completely sure Myoga-sensei wasn't paying attention.

“Sure…whatever you want if fine.” Kagome glanced at the clock then back to Sango “How long does this class go for?”

“Another 30 minutes Higurashi and this is the third time I've had to talk to you two. The next time Sango here can show you where the detention room is as well.” Myoga-sensei was getting annoyed and it showed so in his tone. The girls returned to `note taking' for a minute before Kagome slightly turned around.

“Is he always this strict or did I arrive on a special day?”

Sango silently chuckled before replying “No he's always this way, always has been and probably will always stay this way.”

“Gah! I told you to stop chitchatting! Higurashi go sit on the other side of the room somewhere! Sango and you can chitchat all you want in detention after school. And for kami's sake Sango, do I have to tell you everyday?!”

“Tell me what?” Sango knew what Myoga-sensei was about to say.

“PUT YOUR HAIR INTO A KAMI DAMNED PONYTAIL!” Myoga-sensei then went back to his grade book completely ignoring everyone for the rest of the class.

([A/N] I don't want to say “god damned” `cuz that might be offensive to some of you guys so even though it sounds funny just go with it, `kay? ^^;;;)

“I can't believe I'm in detention on my FIRST DAY!” Kagome had been ranting on about this for almost the whole day. Sango and herself were walking down to the detention room that was right next to the gym so you could hear the basketball team practicing. Sango had said she thought they put the detention room there so if you tried to sleep the loud banging of the basketball hitting the floor would wake you up. “I mean what is my mom going to say when I tell her I got detention for talking! TALKI-“ Kagome got cut off when she bumped into Sango. “Oh! I'm sorry Sana-chan! I wasn't paying…attention…why are you getting soda?” Sango had stopped at the vending machine.

“I know you weren't paying attention and I'm getting soda because it's my day. Do you want one?” Sango was going through her bag looking for her wallet.

“Uh sure. What do you mean `your day'?” Kagome watched as Sango pulled a few coins out and starting slipping them into the machine.

“What do you want?” Sango stepped back to let Kagome see the options.

“Diet Coke.” Sango pressed the button and a can came out the bottom. She handed it to Kagome “Thank you…”

“Kame, I get sent to the D-room almost everyday and even if I didn't get sent there I come out of habit. There is another kid who gets sent there almost everyday too. We were in detention together all last year as well so we set up a system of getting each other sodas. Today is my day to get the soda.” They started walking again toward the “D-room”.

“That's funny…”

“What is?” Sango looked at Kagome who just shrugged.

“I would of thought they wouldn't allow drinks or stuff like that in detention…”

“They didn't but we became friends with Yoko-sensei so now she allows drinks, food, cellphones, basically anything entertaining that wouldn't be allowed we can bring now.”

“Okay but two things. One, who is `we'? Two, why do you go there everyday?” Kagome looked over at Sango who had stopped. She then sighed.

“One, `we' is Inuyasha and I. Two, I come here everyday because I have nothing better to do before I go to work plus coming here allows me to hang out with Inuyasha.”

“Work?”

“Yes, I work.”

“Why?” Kagome then wished she didn't say that for Sango's eyes looked elsewhere for a moment. Kagome could tell they probably looked sad right then. Kagome then put her hand on Sango's shoulder “Never mind, you can tell me later because now we have to get to DETENTION!” Kagome then skipped off down the hall to her left but Sango soon started laughing.

“It's this way.” Sango was pointing to the right. Kagome turned around in mid-air almost falling over to skip in the direction Sango was pointing. When she passed Sango she shouted, “I knew that!” Sango ran after her friend and started skipping next to Kagome all the way down the hall.
