Kagome settled herself comfortably in the huge bed. The moonlight glided softly through the window above her head. She stared into the darkness, wondering, fearing, asking whatever god(s) that were listening if Inuyasha was okay- the real Inuyasha. She hugged the pillow close and racked her brain about what she could do in the current situation. Considering the unusual conversation between Kagome and this 'new Inuyasha', she was even more confused than ever.

"As you can see," he said. "Inuyasha is not physically conscious. Neither are you or lady Sango or that perverted monk that you hang around. This is all a intricate and limitless dream." He let that sink in. "If I killed you right now, you'd wake up in another...." He searched for the right word.
"...?" Kagome's expression bidded him continue.
"World." He said. "Dimension, universe, reality. Basically just another dream." She looked very skeptical.
"So...." she said. "what do you want me to do?"
"You can control dreams." He said, his chin resting on his hand. "Your miko power mixed with Inuyasha's feelings for you should give you power over both his and your own dreams." He turned to her. "Your lack of sight helps." She looked at him strangely. "I'm not blind anymore." She said. "I can see right now. I have been able to ever since I came to this...." She gestured all around her. "place."
"So you're not." he said. "But in the real world, none of this ever happened. In the real world, you haven't even left that village yet. In the real world, Inuyasha never killed you. So that is why you must penetrate his mind, immerse yourself deep in his psyche. You know him-us- better than anyone, you're the only hope for me-us" He waited for her reply.
"How can you know all this." She said. "If you're Inuyasha, and the....other Inuyasha doesn't know he's dreaming, how do you know that this is a dream?"
"The witch." He said, offhandedly. "That old hag of a soothsayer knows more than any of us." He pointed toward the hallway. "She is the only reason any of this happened. Her and her stupid 'time travel spell'." He had an irritated expression. "Her little 'spell' split us into two seperate emnities. I'm dimorphic." Kagome's skin was starting to look like a raisin.
"Just let me know when you decide," he said. "the old hag is having dinner at the forth notch on the sundial in your room. Don't forget."
         "Right."
"Okay," he said, leaving the room. "get dressed."

What could she do? To believe that she was in a dream would explain quite a lot. But how did she get here in the first place? A million thoughts swam around her mind non-stop, allowing her little rest that night.

"Sango-sama." Miroko whispered into her ear. "Sango, wake up." He nudged her shoulder, hoping she would wake. Sango stirred a little.
"Sango!" he said a little louder. "Come on." She slowly opened her eyes and stared into his. Her surprise at seeing him caused her to sit up straight.
"Houshi-sama!" she said, hugging him. Miroku was startled and, too daze to think, did what he always did.

& nbsp;      "So, how did we get here?" Sango said, looking around at the dark shelter they were in. Outside the howls of the wind gave the place an eerie atmosphere.
"Houshi-sama?" He winced in pain as he nursed the large, red bump on his forehead.
"Did you have to hit so hard?" said the monk quietly.
         "Houshi-sama!"
"Hai, hai." He said. "I heard. I don't know how we got here." He looked at the roof, hearing the heavy snow drifts blowing by. "But more importantly," he said. "is where we are, and how to get out."
"Put another log on the fire, houshi-sama."

Kagome shivered. A cold wind blew through the window into her room. She was awakened suddenly by the sound of the large door opening. The odd, little, bug-eyed creatures with the bundles on their backs swarmed into the room. She heard them climb up on the bedpost, then shut the windows. Moments later she felt an extra blanket slide over her. The sound of scurrying feet was heard, then she expected to hear the same old, irritating creak of the door. There was none.
She sat up. There, standing in the doorway, was the old woman, her face conveniently hidden in the only spot in the room where there were significant shadows.
"Ah," she said. "little duck, you will be late for our....appointment." She ordered the twittering dwarfs back into the room.
         "You mustn't be late."
Kagome looked out the window, a huge blizzard roared outside. Only a few days ago, she thought, there had been flowers. Maybe this was a dream.
"Come." The old woman said. "You must prepare."

"Hey!" Shippou cried out as Inuyasha landed a hard punch to his head. He ran to Kagome and perched on her shoulder.
"Kagome," He whined. "Inuyasha hit me."
"Well, did you do something to provoke him?"
"No, not really. I just told him he was dreaming if he thought we were going to walk all the way to that village." Kagome looked knowingly at Inuyasha. Dreaming , she thought.
"He is, Shippo." She said. "He is."
