[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Now, I've been looking for episode 143 for awhile. I only know the name of that otter demon girl, Kanta. Nothing else is known, whether she could swim at first or not. Like it matters here. I have also never seen Shippo swim before, and why I say this, you'll see. Just read here.

Inuyasha and gang are fishing along a quiet river stream. Inuyasha, Miroku, and even Shippo have fishing rods and are trying to catch a fish.
Inuyasha: Stupid fish. Bite already!
Miroku: Calm down. Patience is a virtue.
Inuyasha: Not when you're sitting on your butt for three hours! Will a fish ever get on the hook!? Argh! If I have to go inside that river and take a fish, I will!
Sango: Sounds like someone is having a hard time.
Kagome: Yeah. But that's Inuyasha for you.
Inuyasha is really getting annoyed at the situation. Shippo gets a tug, and a pull.
Shippo: Hey! I think I got something!
Inuyasha: What? You're getting a fish?
Shippo is struggling.
Miroku: I told you that patience was a virtue.
They hold on to Shippo as they try to pull in the fish.
Kagome: Yeah! You can do it!
Sango: Pull you guys! Pull!
They try to pull in the fish.
Shippo: It..must be..the biggest fish the world has...ever seen! And it's mine!
Inuyasha: Hey! If we weren't helping you just now, you wouldn't be able to catch this stinkin fish!
Miroku: Oh be quiet and pull!
They keep on pulling as hard as they can. They're being pulled in and they pull back.
Sango and Kagome: Pull! Pull! Pull!
They keep chanting, and the others pull. But then something happens. They all go flying into the shallow part of the river and they lose grip of the fishing rod. The fish gets away. It even jumps out of the water, and it was only a tiny fish.
Shippo: Awww...It got away.
They leave the water. Shippo shakes off the water that is on him.
Inuyasha: Perfect. Out muscled by a fish.
Miroku: Hmm...You think it maybe a tiny fish demon with the strength of a thousand men?
Inuyasha: If it were that, then I would of called for backup. Now what are we going to do for food? It'll be awhile for Kagome to go get more ramen.
Shippo looks in the distance and sees a fish jump onto the river side.
Shippo: Hey look! A fish!
They look and see it. Then another jumps onto shore.
Kagome: Another one!
And another jumps out of the river.
Inuyasha: Is this some kind of trick?
Miroku: Uhhhh.....
More and more fish jump out of the river. Then some little otter demon girl wearing a grass skirt, a red shirt, and a grass hat, with a fish in her mouth comes out of the river and drops the fish from her mouth.
Shippo: Hey! That's..
Everyone: Kanta?

The Mighty Fish Run!

Kanta shakes off her fur of any water.
Shippo: Kanta!
Kanta: Huh? Can it be?
She looks and sees Shippo and gang.
Kanta: Oh Shippo! It's you!
She and Shippo begin to run to each other, all glad to see each other. When they reach, they hug each other.
Kanta: It's so great to see you again!
Shippo: I know!
The others come.
Inuyasha: Well well. What a touching reunion.
She stops hugging.
Kanta: Hi guys! It's been awhile!
Kagome: Sure has. How's your father?
Kanta: He's doing fine. No more demons cutting off his head.
Shippo: So why are you all the way out here?
Kanta: He he. Me and daddy are here for the yearly fish run along this river. There's going to be a lot of fish coming this way. It's like a dream come true!
Miroku: Well no wonder why we couldn't catch a thing. We were way too earlier.
Kanta: The rush doesn't start till tomorrow noon. But luckily I was able to convince daddy I can help out in the fish run.
Shippo: Convince?
Kanta: Yeah. Last year my daddy wouldn't let me help because I didn't know how to swim perfectly. So I've practiced a whole lot ever since the beheading incident. And also, I managed to do my family's secret technique in getting fish to shore!
Sango: Like the fish that just jumped on shore. So that's it.
Kanta: Yep. After that, daddy decided to let me help out! We're going to win this fish run this year!
Kagome: Win the fish run?
Kanta: Yeah! Every year the Hawk Demons hold a contest here at this river. Whatever group catches more fish, is declared Lord of Fishing of this river for until next year's fish run.
Inuyasha: Hmph. Sounds like a whole lot of hooplah to me.
Sango: I think it's pretty cool. So what happens after the contest?
Kanta: Well....Whatever fish we catch, half of it goes to markets everywhere. The rest are for us. And boy, fish are good to eat this time of the year. Mmm...I can already taste them. Say! Wanna come for dinner?
Kagome: Sure. Tha'd be lovely.
Inuyasha: At least I'll be able to eat something.
Kanta: Yay! I'll tell daddy you'll be comming. I'll be just up that way. *points toward direction* Well that's it then. *she takes her bag of fish which she put them in recently* See you later!
She jumps into the water and swims away.
Inuyasha: Okay. So now that we're invited, let's go eat!
Shippo:
They go to where Kanta was heading.

A bit later...we see Kanta's dad starting a fire.
Kanta: Daddy I'm back!
Kanta comes out of the river with her bag of fish.
Dad: Aw, Kanta. You brought the fish. Good job.
He pats her head.
Kanta: Daddy. I've invited some friends over for dinner. Is it alright?
Dad: Friends eh? No I don't mind. But who'd you invite?
Shippo: Hey!!!!
Inuyasha and gang are coming.
Kanta: Remember them daddy?
Dad: Oh yeah. I remember them.
They finally come.
Inuyasha: So how long till dinner?
Dad: Not for a while. It is now time to cook. Get a stick, and take a fish. Be sure to stick it in the fire while you're at it.
Later that night...the fish are to perfection. Everyone is now eating their fill of fish.
Inuyasha: Ah finally!
Kagome: You and your stomach.
Shippo: So Kanta. How does that fish run competition thing work exactly?
Kanta: Daddy? Can you explain?
Dad: Certainly. Well you see Shippo. This competition is worked by a system used to for putting certain groups in places along the river. Depending on who gets here, they get a position starting from the top along this area, to near the end of the waterfall.
Miroku: What's the point of that?
Dad: Well...I guess it's..well..I don't know. It's how the Hawk Demons set it up.
Sango: Hawk Demons?
Dad: Yes. They were the ones to have held our contests. Now...Many demon claim that they are better fishers than others. To solve this, the Hawk Demons hold a special contest on this river, which the great fish run is. Any demon or demons of a group who catch more fish than the others, are titled Lord of Fishing for one year, until the next fish run. And so many demons have many ways of catching fish. So it's surprising who wins.
Inuyasha: Hey I have a question. Why don't anyone else in the villages know about this?
Dad: Hmm...Gee. I don't know. Guess no one even bothered.
Kanta finishes eating.
Kanta: I'm finished. I'm going for a walk daddy.
Dad: Okay. Don't stray too far.
Kanta: I won't.
She leaves. Shippo sees this and quickly devours his fish.
Shippo: Ow that burns..... I'm done too.
He gets up and leaves.
Sango: Where's he going?
Miroku: Well duh. Ain't it obvious? He wishes to join her in her walk.
Inuyasha: Oh. Maybe he's in love with Kanta.
Dad: My daughter? Ho ho. That boy has good taste. She's a bright girl, I'll give her that. No wonder why Shippo likes her.
Back with Kanta. She is humming a song while skipping along the river.
Shippo: Hey wait up!
Shippo catches up.
Kanta: Oh hey Shippo. You want to walk with me?
Shippo: Well yeah. I guess you can say that.
They walk along the river.
Kanta: Yesterday. I found this cavern found under a waterfall. And you wouldn't believe what I saw.
Shippo: No what?
Kanta: I saw the most beautiful diamonds, crystals, and many things, embedded in the walls. They sparkled like the morning sun. It was beautiful. Aww...
Her eyes sparkle.
Shippo: That sounds cool. Anyway I can see?
Kanta: Sure! Follow me!
She holds his hand and they run along the river. They reach the waterfall.
Kanta: This way!
She takes Shippo down a path, down the waterfall side.
Shippo: So uh. Where's the cavern? All I see is a big waterfall.
Kanta: He he. It's under the waterfall silly. I had to swim to get there.
Shippo: Swim? Uh...
Kanta jumps into the water. Shippo gets splashed.
Kanta: Well come on in Shippo! Water's great!
Shippo: Umm....Maybe we shouldn't go right now.
Kanta: Why not? Can't you swim?
Shippo: What? Of course I can? You think I can't swim? No...I happen to be a pretty good swimmer myself.
Kanta: Uh...Whatever you say so.
Shippo: I just...well...feel....I don't want to tire you from tomorrow's fish run. After all, you and your father want to win right?
Kanta: Well if you feel that way, alright. But I'm going to swim in here before going back. I always love to swim around after dinner.
Shippo: Well okay. Well I'm going to go back with the others.
Kanta: Okay. See ya!
Shippo: See ya!
Shippo leaves Kanta as she plays in the water. He goes up the little path by the waterfall and heads along the river.
Shippo: Phew. If Kanta knew I couldn't swim, she might laugh. Everyone at this age should know how to swim. And I haven't even learned how.
Inuyasha hangs upside down from a tree, and he appears in Shippos face.
Inuyasha: Hello Shippo.
Shippo: Wha!!!!
Inuyasha: Ha ha! *gets down*
Shippo: What are you doing here?!
Inuyasha: Checking on you. And didn't I hear you just say, you can't swim? How pathetic!
Shippo: Oh shut up!
Inuyasha: So what's this about telling her you can swim?
Shippo: Well...I don't want her thinking otherwise...
Inuyasha: You do realize what will happen once she finds out. Eh?
Shippo: Shut up!
Inuyasha: Just remember. When you tell a lie, things get worse in the end. Eventually you're going to have to tell her the truth. Just a word of advice.
Shippo: Advice?
Inuyasha: Bye bye!
He disappears into the trees.
Shippo: Hey get back here! Oh. (Maybe he's right. Maybe I should just tell Kanta I can't swim.)
He sees Kanta swimming happily around the little lake by the waterfall.
Shippo: Oh...(But not now. Not while she's happy like that.) I'll tell her eventually.
He leaves. Two mysterious figures (two bear demons) watch him leave. Then they watch Kanta.
???1: That must be the girl of that otter guy.
???2: Yeah. She's the one alright. The boss wants her out of the way. That way the otters won't easily win.
???1: I don't see the trouble in getting this girl. It's not like she can do anything.
???3: That's where you are wrong my friends.
Another bear demon appears.
???3: Otter demons have specialized in fishing since the beginning of time.
???2: Yeah. But master Brawg. You are the Lord of Fishing!
???1: Yes. You have won every single year due to your massive knowledge of catching tons of fish.
Brawg: True. But I have a feeling that this family of otters aren't going to be easy to beat. I must make sure they don't have the slightest advantage. I want you to kidnap the girl and make sure she doesn't show up tomorrow.
???2: And after that?
Brawg: After that. We'll eat her.
???1: Ahh. Perfect plan!
Brawg: I'm counting on you.
He leaves. The two figures continue to watch. Kanta is laying on her back in the water. She looks at the stars. She imagines one of the star formations as Shippo. She smiles.
Kanta: I better be heading back.
She gets back to shore. She climbs the waterfall pathway.
Kanta: Nothing like a good swim to stretch the good old swimming legs.
As she walks, she stops at the site of the two bear demons.
Kanta: Who..who are you?
???1: We're your worst nightmare. Heh heh heh.
Kanta screams but one of them covers her mouth so she couldn't. They disappear into the shadows...

Next morning..Inuyasha and gang are sleeping on the shore of the river. Shippo is sleeping next to Kagome. He is the first to awaken while the others sleep. He is drowsy and he walks along the river.
Shippo: *yawn* Boy. I should of went to sleep earlier last night. I feel bushed.
He then hears a shout.
Dad: Kanta! Kanta!
Shippo: That sounds like Kanta's dad.
He quickly runs toward the sound.
Dad: Kanta! Where are you?!
Shippo arrives.
Shippo: What's going on?
Dad: It's Kanta. She never returned home. I've been looking for her.
Shippo: What?
Dad: I don't know where she can be. I've checked along the river and toward the falls. She isn't anywhere.
Shippo: She's not at the falls? But she was there when I went with her.
Dad: Oh. This is awful.
Shippo: Don't worry. I'll go look for her as well.
Dad: Oh thank you Shippo.
Shippo: I'll start at the waterfalls. That's where I last seen her. Maybe another look will do.
He heads off.
Dad: Kanta!
Shippo runs over Inuyasha as he runs. He wakes up.
Inuyasha: Hey! Watch where you're going!
Shippo is already out of sight.
Inuyasha: Where is he going?
Everyone else wakes up.
Kagome: Inuyasha! You have to wake us up like that?!
He gets a sweatdrop.

Meanwhile...Shippo is at the edge over the lake by the waterfall. He sees nothing but water.
Shippo: She isn't here. Where can she be? Huh?
He sees many large foot prints on the ground.
Shippo: What are those?
He follows them. He keeps going until he reaches some cavern.
Shippo: What's this place?
He sneaks inside. He hears noices so he hides behind some rocks.
???1: Good. Now we can leave the girl alone so we can watch Brawg win the fish run!
???2: Yeah. This is going to be great! And imagine. Otter stew for dinner!
They laugh as they leave Kanta, who is tied, ang gagged to the wall. When they leave, Shippo sneaks by.
Shippo: Kanta. It's me. Shippo.
Kanta is glad to see him. Shippo takes the cloth around her mouth.
Kanta: Shippo! Boy am I glad to see you.
Shippo: What happened?
Kanta: Some bear demons took me hostage. I don't know why. But I heard something about Brawg being involved.
Shippo: Brawg?
Kanta: He is the Lord of Fishing for right now. He has been lord for 5 years. I don't see why he would be wanting to get rid of me.
Shippo: Well let's get you back to your father. He's been looking for you.
Kanta: Okay.
Before they can leave.
Brawg: Where do you think you're going?
Brawg is in the way.
Kanta: It's Brawg!
Brawg: Heh. Guess I can't trust those two for leaving you alone. Now we got a little fox on the run as well.
Shippo: Hey! Why are you trying to keep Kanta away from the fish run?
Brawg: Hm hm hm. Hey. There's no such thing as illegal action. I can't let anyone try to take my title. And the girl and her father have been rumored to be the next winners.
Shippo: But eating her? That's just not right.
Brawg: Hey. I'm a bear. I eat anything I can grab. And it looks like you two are on the menu.
He slowly goes to them.
Kanta: I'm scared Shippo.
Shippo: Hey back off ugly! You don't wanna mess with me!
Brawg: Yeah right.
Shippo: You asked for it!
He leaps at Brawg and bites him hard on the neck. Shippo is using Kokoro no Kizu.
Brawg: Let go of me!
He hits Shippo, then throws him forward.
Kanta: Shippo!
Brawg grabs Kanta. Shippo gets up.
Brawg: Don't move! Or the girl dies.
Brawg has her in a headlock, and ready to claw her.
Kanta: Shippo help!
Shippo: Leave her alone!
She takes his top and spins it on the top of Brawg's head.
Brawg: Huh?
It then gets big and Brawg falls. Kanta gets free.
Shippo: Come on let's go!
Kanta: Right!
They take off. The top returns to normal and Brawg gets up.
Brawg: You won't escape me!
Shippo and Kanta are now on the run from a rampaging bear demon.
Shippo: Hurry!
Kanta: I'm trying. But I'm not as fast on land as I'm in the water!
Brawg: You two will be my lunch!
The two scared children run back to the waterfall area. Now they are along the river.
Brawg: Oh no you don't!
He takes his claws, and they somehow glow.
Brawg: Earth Claw!
He slams the ground and a burst of earth goes through. It goes past Shippo and Kanta nad many rock formations appear in front of their path.
Shippo: How'd he do that?
Kanta: That's his Earth Claw! He uses it during his fishing. That's how he gets so many fish.
Brawg: Got you where I want!
He is charging toward them.
Kanta: Hurry! Into the water!
Kanta jumps in.
Shippo: (Oh no. I can't swim!)
Kanta: What are you waiting for!?
Shippo: Go on! I can get past him.
He has a little leaf in his hand. Kanta swims ahead.
Brawg: Got you fox!
He slashes at Shippo, but it was only an illusion.
Brawg: Huh?
Shippo had created a copy of himself as he leaps over Brawg. He is running behind Brawg now. Kanta joins Shippo.
Shippo: Come on!
They run.
Brawg: This will be your end!
He does another Earth Claw. Only this time the eruption of earth comes underneath Shippo and Kanta, and they go flying into the air. They fly under the falls. Brawg looks over the falls and sees nothing.
Brawg: That'll teach them. Ha ha ha ha!
He leaves. But unknown to him., Shippo was hanging on to a branch embedded in the falls, while Kanta hangs on to his tail.
Shippo: Phew. Are you okay Kanta?
Kanta: Yes. I think so!
Shippo climbs onto the branch. Kanta then comes up.
Kanta: That was a close one.
Shippo: Yeah.
They rest on the branch.
Kanta; You were very brave Shippo. Thanks for saving me.
Shippo blushes.
Shippo: Gee. No problem.
Kanta: Now I wonder how we're going to get off this branch?
Shippo: Don't worry. I can handle that.
He leaps up and tranforms into his pink balloon form.
Shippo: Get on me.
Kanta grabs on and Shippo floats up. He floats over to the shore on the side and Kanta gets off. Shippo reverts to normal.
Shippo: Come on! We have a fish run to go to!
Kanta: Mm hm!
They make a dash.

Meanwhile...
Kagome: What? Kanta's gone?
Dad: Yes. She didn't return at all last night. Shippo volunteered to help and went back to the waterfall to find her. He hasn't come back either.
Inuyasha: Heh. No wonder why he ran me over. He was looking for his girlfriend.
Miroku: You aren't serious are you?
Inuyasha: Are you serious when it comes to girls? *Miroku doesn't reply* Thought so.
Dad: I hope they're okay. Because it's almost noon.
Sango: Say. Where are the other fishers?
Inuyasha: Not too far. Look!
More animal demons come. There are pig demons, cat demons, and Brawg. He is most interested in Kanta's father.
Brawg: Ah. You must be my competition. I heard you are among the best fishers of your kind.
Dad: Well yes. I believe so.
Brawg: Where's your daughter? I'm dying to meet her. I heard she takes after you. But yet I don't see her?
Dad: She's...Well...
Brawg: Well I'm going to go to my spot. See you later! Ha ha ha!
He leaves.
Kagome: Who's he?
Dad: That's Brawg. He was the Lord of Fishing until today. If he wins he'll be the lord for another year.
Kagome: No way!
Dad: Yes. He is the one man fisherman. He has a claw that can move earth. And he can make fish leap out of the water with one swoop.
Miroku: So he can move earth basiclly.
Inuyasha: So what. I bet I can beat him. I bet he wouldn't last againest Tetsusaiga.
Dad: He's brutal. You should never anger him, or he'll maul you faster than what he can do during a slaughter.
Brawg makes an announcement.
Brawg: Here thee! I just want to point out, that if all of you who wishes not to humiliate themselves, you may surrender yourselves to me now! Before you make yourself a fool right now!
Kagome: He sure has a big mouth.
Inuyasha: This year he will be creamed. By me!
Brawg hears this and goes to Inuyasha. The others back off.
Brawg: You got something to say to me?!
Inuyasha just stares.
Brawg: I thought so.
He leaves him alone.
Inuyasha: I ain't scared of him.
Kagome: Well you're lucky he didn't turn you into chopped bits.
Inuyasha: Hmph. Yeah right.
Miroku: Hey what are those?
They look into the sky. Three massive shadows are flying overhead. Everyone takes look at them.
Inuyasha: Woah. What are they?
The shadows get even bigger, meaning they're landing. Three giant hawks land on a rock formation. They are Hawk Demons. And they are demons because, well....they're super freakishly huge. Everyone is in awe. Even Inuyasha.
Miroku: Wanna tackle one of those?
One of the hawk demons flaps it's mighty wings toward the river. The force is so great, that the water splits in two, creating two water walls to make a large opening.
Kagome: Wow.
Many fish were blasted onto shore. Then the water returns to regular flow.
Hawk: Greetings fellow demons. As the founder of the yearly fish run competition, we welcome you all here today.
All the demons are chanting *except for Kanta's father*.
Hawk: Every year, we hold the same contest. A contest that shows who amongest all others, is proved to be the greatest fisherman in all the land. Last year's champion, Brawg the mighty Bear demon, will have to once again win this fish run in order to keep his title.
They call out for Brawg, who is proud of this moment.
Dad: Where is Kanta?...
Hawk: The fish run is about here. Please prepare yourselves. At the end, we will judge among you. Whoever wins, gains the title of Lord of Fishing. Any group who wins will receive that title. But can Brawg keep his one demon title?
Brawg: Yeaahhhhhh!!!!!!!
Inuyasha: Hmph. Show off.
Shippo and Kanta are still running for the fish run.
Shippo: We're almost there!
Then the two bear demons from before come in.
Bear1: Not so fast!
Bear2: We haven't gotten our meal. So we'll settle with you.
Kanta is scared stiff.
Shippo: You wanna play? Then play with this!
He throws a snake at them. It is a giant illusion snake. The two bears are so scared, they fall into the river. The snake turns into a toy snake.
Kanta: You did it Shippo!
Shippo: Let's hurry!
Bears: Curse you!!!!!
They eventually fall over the falls *it somehow got a faster current*.
Shippo: Hey Kanta. Is it just me, or is the current of the water getting faster?
Kanta: Oh no! That means the fish run is starting! We have to hurry!
They run at hyper speed.

Back with everyone else.
Kagome: Where can they be?
Hawk: Everyone! Prepare yourselves! The fish are coming in a matter of moments.
Inuyasha: What are you going to do now?
Dad: *sigh* I have no choice. I'm just won't compete.
Miroku: What?
Sango: But why?
Dad: I can't do this without Kanta. She's been wanting to do this since the first time I've taken her to this. Of course that time, I almost lost her over the waterfall.
Flashback time! Yay!!!!! Kanta is on the river shore *and she doesn't have a hat on, and she's a bit smaller* being happy as she watches her dad compete in the contest. Her dad comes out with many fish.
Kanta: Yay!!!!
Dad: You watching Kanta dear? Someday you'll be able to do this.
He goes back in. Then he does some kind of water technique. He swims back and forth in a half ring formation at high speed. He slowly shrinks the size of the ring as the fish are caught in the trap. The fish go onto shore. Kanta is excited.
Kanta: May I help daddy?
Dad: Sorry dear. The current is too strong, and you haven't learned how to swim that good.
Kanta: Awww....
Dad: Maybe next year.
He goes back in the water. Kanta gets up and takes a walk. She finds a fish on the ground.
Kanta: Hey! A fish!
She goes to pick it up. All happy, she begins to head back to her spot. She slips on another fish that somehow popped up and falls into the fast going river.
Kanta: Daddy!
Her dad looks and sees her daughter being swepted away.
Dad: Hang on!
He goes under and goes to her rescue. Kanta is trying to stay above the water but the rough water is too much for her. She heading for the falls!
Kanta: Help!
She goes under and is near the falls. Her father is really going fast now. But too late. Kanta goes over. Screaming, she falls. But she is grabbed by her father just in time. He is hanging onto a rock.
Dad: Hang on Kanta. *pulls her into his chest* Hold your breath now.
He jumps down into the water. After a few seconds he comes out and onto shore. Kanta is still clinging onto him in his arms, crying.
Dad: Are you alright?
Kanta: Daddy I'm so sorry. I slipped on a fish that came out of no where and I fell. *sniff* The water is scary....
She is really upset.
Dad: There there. It's okay. I'm here.
Kanta is very upset.

Later...Brawg once again gets declared the winner. The Hawk Demons fly away while the bear demons celebrate the spoils of Brawg's victory. Kanta and her father are far off. Kanta hasn't touched her food.
Kanta: Daddy I am so sorry. If I knew how to swim this wouldn't of happened.
Dad: It's okay sweetie. It's only a contest. They'll be others.
Kanta: It's all my fault.
She is really upset now. Her dad puts his hand on her shoulder.
Dad: Kanta. I don't care if I had won that contest or not. All that matters is you. It was only an accident. It's okay. Things happen.
Kanta is a little upset now.
Dad: Tell you what. If you improve on your swimming, I'll let you help me with next years fish run.
Kanta: You mean it?
Dad: Yes. I really do.
Kanta: Oh daddy.
Kanta hugs her dad.

End Flashback...
Dad: I promised her I'd do this with her. But it looks like it won't be this year.
Silence....
Kanta: Daddy!
Dad: Kanta?
Every turns to see Shippo and Kanta running toward them.
Inuyasha: Isn't that?
Kagome: Shippo and Kanta!
Brawg: What?
Kanta: Daddy!
After a bit.
Dad: Kanta!
He runs to her. Kanta jumps into her daddy's arms.
Kanta: Oh daddy!
Dad: I was so worried about you.
Kanta: I'm sorry! I was kidnapped by some bears. And Shippo saved me.
Inuyasha: No way. Shippo actually saved someone?
Shipop: Of course I did!
Kagome: Nie work Shippo. You found Kanta. And just in time.
Shippo: We aren't too late?
Now, everyone hears a rumbling noice. Miroku puts his ear to the ground.
Miroku: Woah...
Now all of a sudden, tons of fish are streaming along the river in massive streams.
Inuyasha: Woah. That's a lot of fish.
It calms down a bit, so the demons can fish safely.
Hawk: Fishers, the fish run has begun!
All the demon fishermens *except Kanta and her dad* go into the water and begin to catch fish.
Shippo: Good luck Kanta.
Kanta smiles and looks at her dad.
Kanta: Ready?
Dad: Let's do it.
They both go into the water at once.
Shippo: Go Kanta!
Inuyasha: You're enjoying this aren't you?
The demons are doing many things to catch fish. We even see Brawg using his Earth Claw to force fish to come to shore. Kanta and her father are getting fish by fish with wacky techniques.
Shippo: Yahoo!
Kanta, while underwater, nods at her dad while they both do that secret family fishing technique together. Tons and tons of fish are launched onto the shore. Brawg is getting really angry at this shortage.
Brawg: They're getting to be annoying.
Shippo and the others are cheering them on. Especially Shippo.

Hours later....many fish are on the shore, in the piles *woah, that's a lot of fish*. The fish run is over. But the river is still in it's fast current. Kanta and her father are the last to come out of the river.
Shippo: Great job Kanta! You two were great!
Kanta: Thanks Shippo.
The three Hawk Demons fly around the river site, judging who got more fish. Afterwards, the three hawks land on the rock formation.
Hawk: It has been decided. The competition is over. It is time to announce the winner.
Everyone is tense. Brawg is confident.
Hawk: And we have decided....That the Otter demon family here are the new Lords of Fishing.
Everyone turns to Kanta and her father.
Shippo: You won!
Kanta: Yay!
Kanta hugs her father.
Brawg: What?! Errrr.....
Kagome: Congratulations you two. You kicked butt.
Kanta is happy.
Dad: You did good Kanta. I'm very proud of you.
Kanta is forming tears of happiness.
Brawg: Hold it! This is a disgrace! You two cannot possibly win! I want a recount!
Inuyasha: Here we go again.
Brawg: There is no way I will let myself lose to a little girl and some stupid giant rodent!
Kanta: Daddy's not stupid! And we won fair and square!
Brawg: I should of killed you when I had the chance!
Everyone who did not know is in shock.
Inuyasha: Uhh...What now?
Shippo: Look you lost! Get over it!
Brawg: What? Argh, shut up!
He swipes Shippo into the river. He is taken by the current.
Kagome: Shippo!
Shippo: Help!
He can't swim.
Kanta: Shippo! Hang on!
She jumps into the river after him.
Dad: Kanta!
He tries to get in but Brawg knocks him down.
Brawg: I should of killed you and your daughter before this thing started. Now I'm going to finish you off.
Inuyasha: Not on my time you stupid bear.
He is about to draw out Tetsusaiga.
Hawk: Do not bother half-breed dog demon. This is something we shall now take care of.
The main hawk flies down.
Brawg: No! Ahhhhh!!!!!!
The hawk grabs Brawg with it's talons, then sends Brawg into the mountains.
Inuyasha: Heh. Nevermind me then.
Kagome: Inuyasha! We gotta save Shippo!
Inuyasha: Yeah, right!
They go after Shippo in the river. He can hardly keep afloat.
Shippo: Pfah! Can't keep....on!
He sinks.
Kanta: Hang on Shippo!
She dives forward. Shippo is underwater, unconsious. Kanta swims to him and grabs him from the water. She pulls him to the surface.
Kanta: I got you Shippo. Don't worry.
She gets swepted by the rushing water that got even more intense.
Dad: Hang on!
He dives in.
Kagome: Shippo!
Inuyasha: Oh boy.
Kanta can't swim with Shippo in arms.
Kanta: Hang on Shippo!
She hangs on tightly to him. They are closing in toward the waterfall.
Kagome: Oh no!
They both go over the falls. But like a year ago, Kanta's father comes to the rescue and catches them from a rock.
Dad: Hang on now!
He jumps down into the water.
Kagome: Oh no. Shippo.
Everyone, demons too, are wondering what is going to happen. Finally, he comes out of the river. Everyone is relieved. Kanta sets Shippo on the ground.
Kanta: Shippo speak to me!
She begins to press his chest. Water comes out of his mouth. He coughs.
Kanta: You're okay!
She hugs him.
Shippo: Ugh. Yeah. I'm fine.
Everyone is glad.
Shippo: Thanks Kanta.
Kanta: No problem.
The Hawk Demons come.
Hawk: Okay. Now that the little one was saved, we shall now continue.
Everyone turns attention to them. Kanta nad her father step forward.
Hawk: As mighty hawk demons, we have declared you Lords of Fishing. Both of you are the greatest fishermen for a year. And as proof, we present you with the Wreaths of Victory.
One of the hawks tosses two wreaths at them. It goes around Kanta and her fathers necks.
Kanta: Um....Thank you...
Hawk: Until next year, take care everyone!
They all take off into the sky.

Later....after tons of fish are taken by marketers by wagon, everyone else is eating their spoils of the catch.
Kagome: That was some serious fishing you did out there. *to Inuyasha and Miroku* Now why can't you two be like that?
They have sweatdrops.
Dad: Yep. Kanta takes after her old father.
Kanta: Oh daddy.
Inuyasha: Say. Where's Shippo?
Meanwhile...we find Shippo sitting on the edge of near the waterfall. Kanta sits next to him.
Kanta: Hey Shippo. Mind if I join you?
Shippo: No. You can sit.
She giggles.
Kanta: Um. Shippo.
Shippo: Yeah?
Kanta: You had trouble getting out of the river earlier. Why was that?
Shippo: *sigh* I might as well say it.
Kanta: Say what?
He gets up.
Shippo: I...I can't swim at all.
Kanta: What? Can't swim? But you said...
Shippo: I didn't want you to think I was pathetic. I mean look at me. I'm practicly the only demon here who doesn't even know how to swim. Everyone else knows how to swim. But I have no idea how. I'm sorry I lied to you about me knowing earlier.
Kanta: I forgive. But you should of told me. I could teach you.
Shippo: You? Teach me?
Kanta: Yeah! Swimming's easy! Come on I'll show you!
She goes down the path. Shippo follows.

Kanta is in the water and Shippo is not.
Kanta: Well come on in.
Shippo is nervous. But he hesitates. He gets in.
Shippo: Hey! I'm doing it!
Kanta: Yeah. Always kick your feet to keep afloat. You can also use your arms to float too. He he he.
Shippo: But how do I move?
Kanta: Move your arms like this.
She does a front crawl for Shippo. Shippo tries it and almost goes under.
Kanta: Don't worry. If you go under, I'll get you.
Shipo tires again, and he does it.
Shippo: Hey I'm doing it!
Kanta: Now try going underwater. Like this.
She holds her breath and she goes under. Shippo eventually holds his breath and joins her. He goes under. He is now swimming underwater.
Shippo: (I'm doing it! I'm actually doing it!)
Kanta playfully swims around him. She holds out her paw and Shippo grabs it. Kanta leads Kanta to a sea cavern. They go in and up it. They emerge from the water and are now in a cave.
Shippo: Where are we?
Kanta: Remember that cave I told you about yesterday? Well look.
Shippo looks and gets excited with what he sees. Like Kanta said, there are many jewels and diamonds all over the place. On the walls, the ceiling, the floor, everywhere!
Shippo: It's pretty.
Kanta: Isn't it lovely?
Shippo: Yeah.
The jewels sparkle and sparkle. And while in the water...Shippo slowly holds Kanta's hand, as they continue to look.
