Inuyasha (in modern times with a twist)
Two long and elegant, yet manly claws tapped the table at a slow and steady pace. The young man with silver hair, about 19, waited in a chair with a stoic look that said “I'm in charge of the world” and a glare in his golden eyes that said “look at me and die!” He glanced at his Rolex watch without moving his head and sighed softly, “I see.” His face became very stiff as he felt a presence looming behind him. He stopped tapping the table. Then he felt another presence and soon, both were next to him. Their eyes bore through the side of his face and he could hear their hearts racing. The sound of something juicy being squished in an open mouth made him almost want to gag. The torture was too much for him. Then his eyes, for once showing any kind of expression, gave a distinct scowl. Not again. The incessant noise...the stalking...they refuse to leave me be...my luck has grown quite unfortunate, he thought. At the popping sound that followed his thoughts, he closed his eyes.
“Hey, mister. You got a dollar I can borrow?” asked the young voice of a 10 year old boy, chewing gum. The boy was up to the young man's biceps while his companion was a little taller than the young boy. Both children looked at the young man with little to no care of who it was that they were bothering.
“I've already informed you. I do not have such currency.” said the young man, knowing that he was technically not lying. He hadn't a single dollar bill on him, just big bills like 20s, 50s, and 100s.
“Are you sure you're not just saying that? I thought I saw you at the ATM earlier after the first time I asked you.” said the boy, seeping his words with the biggest attitude he could muster.
“Since when has my business become any of yours, incessant spawn of filth?” asked the young man, keeping his eyes on a pillar he had been staring at for a while.
“Man, I am not dumb. You got money and all I want is a dollar.”
“So you can buy more of that horrid chewing substance, I suppose?”
“You even talk like a rich guy. Come on, man, help a kid out?” asked the child. His friend agreed with him and both gasped slightly when the young man finally looked at their young faces. His face was very emotionless, giving him a very intimidating vibe to the children on his right.
“You are wasting my time. Listen carefully because I will not repeat myself for the likes of children. I do not have the currency of which you speak. Your intentions with money is your own business. I could care less what you do with it, but would prefer that it is not this Lord's money that you waste. I have important drugs to purchase with this money. So be gone with you, foul creatures of my focused annoyance. I wish to be left alone.” said the young man swiftly, yet clear and in one graceful voice. The two young boys' mouths hung open. There was silence for a while and soon the short boy snapped out of it and said, “Whatever.” as he stood on his skateboard and glided away. The young man, satisfied with the fact that he finally ridded himself of the two annoyances, yet keeping his face strongly emotionless, turned his attention back to the table in front of him where he resumed tapping his well manicured claw.
“The mall will be closing in 10 minutes. Please finish all of your purchases and proceed to the closest exit. Thank you for shopping at Peony Mall.” said the announcer on the loud speakers through out the hall. The young man slowly stood and did not bother pushing his chair back under the table. He glided away in his somewhat loose dark blue jeans with the bottoms rolled up a little to make a lighter blue jean contrast above his black sneakers and his all white, short sleeved, button down shirt. His hair flowed beautifully as he made his way to the exit.
“Lord Sesshoumaru!!...Lord Sesshoumaru, I got your 6 Big Wacs, 4 large fries, and 2 chocolate milkshakes...Oh, and I did not forget about your parfait this time, sire! It's all here in these bags! Please wait for me, sire!” squealed a high whiny voice of the young man's minion.
“Jaken, you are very late with my meal. You will pay dearly once we arrive home. Stay aware of this.” said Sesshoumaru, opening the exit door, not turning or stopping for his servant. The small toad-like minion known as Jaken ran as fast as he could to the exit behind his lord and followed to the limo that was coincidentally brought to the front of the mall entrance. Passers-by stopped to stare at the large escalade limo and wonder for whom it was for. Seeing the young man approach his ride home with no hesitation, they all gasped in `awe' and mumbled to themselves of this demon lord that was walking among them.

It was silent in the backyard of the big house (not mansion, but big house). Slowly he crept up to his target. The silver haired stalker was nearing its prey slowly but silently, holding his weapon in his right hand. Bastards... how dare they! They'll pay for what they did, thought the 17 year old boy in khaki carpenter pants and a white wifebeater. His golden eyes glistened with determination as he stopped briefly to adjust the red and navy blue baseball hat that sat on his silver head. Stealthily, he held his long green weapon at the ready, prepared to strike.
“DIE!” the boy yelled at the top of his lungs as he held out the hose with a pesticide attachment and sprayed his mother's garden to death with the light jet of fluid. He covered every corner of the garden, from the red roses, white roses, tiger lilies, peony bushes, to the bleeding hearts. After a good 5 minute attack on all the pests that did damage to his mother's flowers, the boy stopped and looked satisfied with his work. He tossed the hose down and wiped his hands.
“That'll show father how I can take things seriously. Judgmental, annoying old...” he started as he walked towards the house. At the sound of a sweet voice, he stopped what he was saying.
“Inuyasha, you did an excellent job defending my garden.” said his mother, Izayoi. She came out, wearing a nice, traditional purple and white kimono with sakura detailed on the brims. Her long hair was in a neat, simple braid down her back to her hips. She smiled lovingly at her son as she approached him. His eyes softened as he watched her slightly limp towards him. He jogged to her first and held her arms. Mother is the most beautiful woman on earth. No one will ever compete with her, he thought proudly to himself as he smiled slightly at her. Then he frowned, “Mother, are you sure you should be out here? What if you pass out? I'm not carrying you back inside, you know that, right?” He tried to maintain his tough look in front of his mother, only to fail miserably as she kept her cheerful smile.
“Oh, don't worry about me, Inuyasha. I needed some fresh air and also wanted to see how you were doing. It was a nice surprise to see you caring for my garden so professionally when I did not even have to ask you.” she said, touching his cheek. She pulled his head down and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
“Well, don't think I'm sweet or nothing, I was just doing it cuz...a flea bit my nose and ran away to your garden, so I sprayed the whole thing so it wont ever come back.” he said, blushing slightly. His mother still smiled.
“All the same, thank you. Now it is time to eat. I made your favorite for lunch.” she said, taking his hand and walking with him in and she wiped his sweaty brow with her sleeve. His eyes grew wide while he made a big, excited smile.
“RAMEN!!!” he shouted happily and ran inside the house. Izayoi just giggled and followed him. She closed the sliding door and found the hanyou eating straight from the pot she made just for him. Next to the pot of ramen were some sushi, omelet, and curried rice in a medium sized plate. She sat down beside her son and happily ate her lunch(the medium plate of stuff) with her chopsticks while he ate with two pairs. His hat fell lightly over the edge of the pot as his head disappeared deeper in.

An old man swept the hard cement floor in front of the Tree of Ages. He heard two grunts and a thump followed by two more grunts and a thump. He stopped sweeping and sighed exasperatedly.
“Will you two be careful with my shipment? They are very old!” shouted the old man as he turned to face the steps of the Higurashi shrine.
“But, gramps, its heavy.” whined the voice of a young boy, about 10 years of age.
“And it stinks!” exclaimed the voice of a young lady of 16 years.
“It is supposed to stink! How else do you think dried lizards, toads, and snakes are supposed to smell like?” asked the old man as he resumed his work of sweeping.
“EEEEKKKK!!!/AAAHHH, GROSS!!!” screamed the girl/boy (respectively) as the sound of a tumbling box made itself clear to the old man's ears. He gasped and waddled quickly to the steps. Looking down, he saw his two grandchildren with faces of shock look down at the wooden box that was now open at the foot of the steps, spilling out its contents.
“WHAT HAVE YOU TWO DONE!!!” he yelled as loud as he could as he put his hand on his head in utter disbelief. The two turned to see him with little “o”s for mouths.
“Gramps, we didn't mean it.” said the little boy, turning pale at the sight of his grandfather. The girl simply nodded in agreement, turning almost as pale as her little brother. Before their grandfather could scream at them at the top of his lungs, a woman came and stood beside him. She looked at the mess and smiled, “Oh my, look at this mess,” she looked at her children, “Kagome, Souta, clear it up, will you, dears?” Their shoulders slumped in disappointment. They really, really, REALLY did not want to go near that freaky collection of dried nastiness.
“Yes, Mom.” they groaned as they made their way down the stairs. Their mother smiled and turned to her father, “See, Dad? Everything will be just fine. Now calm down before your blood pressure sky rockets.” She patted his shoulder, turned, and walked towards the house.

A young woman of about 17 years of age with long hair tied back walk down the aisle, pushing a cart. She wore a long tan skirt down to her knees, black boots, and a long bell-sleeved shirt that had a medium, round collar. The decoration was black background with sakura branches and blossoms all around the waist and sleeves. She looked at the list in her hand and said aloud, “We need one dozen eggs, a pound of sugar, a gallon of milk, and butter.” Out of nowhere by an unknown force, the items were tossed in her cart except for the milk, which the young boy of about 12 carried over himself. He wore denim jeans with a plain white denim shirt and had a two-tail black and yellow demon kitten on his shoulder. She frowned.
“Kohaku, you should be more careful of how you toss these things. What if you broke the eggs? We'd have to pay for ready made omelets.” she lectured as she checked the dozen in front of him. All eggs were fine and she sighed with relief.
“I'm sorry, Sango. I didn't realize how rough I was. I'll be a little more careful.” Kohaku spoke kindly and calmly as always, causing Sango to smile at him. She messed up his hair and giggled at his shocked look as she walked away. He blushed and looked around to make sure no one saw as he fixed his hair when he saw a shadow disappear from around the corner of an aisle. He furrowed his brows and carefully walked over. The kitten on his shoulder ringed its tiny voice in wonder as he approached where he last saw the shadow. He hushed her, “Shhh, Kirara... This time I know its him.” She prepared herself to jump at the ready when he rounded the corner. There was no one in sight and he looked on all sides. Disappointed that no one was there, he quickly turned to walk, Maybe Sango is right; it is just a figment of my imagination. If she was really being stalked, she would be able to defend herself, no questions asked. This secure thought made him smile and he jogged around the aisle so as to not lose his sister in the many aisles of the grocery store. As he ran around the seafood section and into a distant aisle, he missed the sign on the floor that said “Caution: wet floor” and soon found himself sliding and screaming as he flew across the floor. He crashed into a man's cart, falling face first into it. He mumbled in the man's bread and pushed himself out while the man watched him. The man lent his hand to Kohaku and helped the boy out of his cart, “Easy now...there you go.”
Kohaku turned to him, red in the face, “I am so sorry, sir. It will never happen again. Bye now!” Then he jetted the other way, where he saw his sister's back disappear into the feminine products aisle, thinking, I'm such a klutz. Kohaku, you are such an idiot.

Humming a tune, an 18 year old young man walked on the hard black pavement with a bounce in his step and twirling keys in his hand. He wore white NIKE© sneakers, black baggy jeans, and a navy green hooded sweatshirt. His right hand bore a purple brace with a dark green rosary around it. He strolled to the door, grabbed a cart on the way, swirled it around, and smoothly walked through the automatic doors, all without missing a tune in his song.
“Good morning, Mr. Himura. Nice day, is it not?” he said cheerfully to the redheaded cashier at the front.
“Certainly, Miroku. It is definitely a pleasant day, that it is.” he said almost with more cheer as Miroku. Miroku's smile widened at the silent challenge of who-is-more-cheerful-this-morning that Kenshin Himura presented to him.
“The birds are singing my song, the sun is bright, and all of the ladies in the area are as beautiful as gems, but not as beautiful as your Miss Kaoru.” said Miroku, winking. The red head's face was almost indistinguishable from his hair as he blushed a furious red. He still maintained the wide smile he had plastered on his face.
“That's very nice of you to say, Miroku. I'm sure if she heard you say that, she would be very pleased, that she would. “ said Kenshin, wiping the counter in front of him. Miroku waved a `so long' and walked away towards the magazine aisle. He grinned mischievously as he approached what he had his eyes on for a long time. He came closer and closer. The MAXIM magazine came closer and closer within reach. His grin widened. He stuck out his hand and reached out to grab it, the issue he waited for since the previous month of July. His hand came closer...now it hovered over the MAXIM August issue and...kept going??? He quickly snatched the magazine he wanted badly and opened it, “Ahhh, Home Cooking's August issue. Where is that recipe?” He paged through and found the recipe he was looking for, “Yes! Here it is. Sinfully sinful `send-you-to-hell' double chocolate fudge cupcakes with angel white icing. I'm gonna enjoy making these.” He tossed the magazine in the cart and walked away happily, leaving the MAXIM magazine on the rack. 5 seconds later... his braced hand snatched the MAXIM issue off the rack (HAHAHHAHAAA, there's the Miroku we know and love!!!).
Miroku cleverly strolled to the next aisle, picking up normal groceries while paging through his men's magazine oh so slowly, reading a segment on what to look for on the outside if you wanna know what's underneath. They showed a few girls completely covered in normal clothes and then on the next page the same girls dressed down in only their delicates.
“Ahhhh, interesting.” he said. Let's see...it is exactly 1:15, and if I am not mistaken...he lowered the magazine and looked up slowly, eyeing a piece of “candy” he had always adored. His eyes widened a little as he recognized the company with her and quickly, he turned around and dashed away, avoiding the glance of the young boy beside her. My luck. My mystery woman is out with that same boy again. Damn the child who stands between me and my brown-eyed beauty, he thought sadly. He sighed and walked down the dairy aisle to pick up his ingredients as he picked them out from the magazine of home cooking. Walking past the “Caution: wet floor” sign, only 1 minute had passed by when he heard a crash and groan next to him. He turned to see the young boy he saw earlier struggling inside his shopping cart. He stared and pondered, Hmmmm... poor kid. Must be majorly embarassed. He walked around the cart, “Easy now...there you go.” He flashed his charming boyish smile and the boy hurriedly excused himself and ran off. He smiled sympathetically, Oh yeah...embarassed is an understatement. He chuckled to himself and continued picking out his ingredients. When it was check out time, fate smiled down on him as he saw his beauty only two people in front of him in the line, waiting for her turn to check out. How was he lucky? There were 6 people in front of her and they were packing heavy. He sighed and leaned on the handle of his cart, 20 minutes before Mr. Himura checks out my lover's groceries. That means 20 minutes to live in her beauty and sweet smile.

A young girl of about 16 years of age walked down the sidewalk alone with her books held tight to her chest. She wore a short sleeved baby blue dress up to her knees with all white phat farm sneakers and white socks. Her medium brown hair tied in a low pony tail with two small strands of hair hanging down the sides of her simple yet pretty face. She silently continued her way past a grumbling old man sweeping at the bottom of the steps of what looked like a shrine. Taking a look at her watch, she sighed as she saw the minute hand move to be exactly 4:00pm. She quickened her pace and stopped at the corner of a block. The light was red, so she could not cross the street. A car with two obnoxious boys driving by slowed down at the sight of her and gave her a few cat calls. She ignored them thoroughly and simply looked at them blankly. She crossed the large street when it was her turn and as she did, a speeding black 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle approached her and quickly bypassed her illegally through traffic, almost knocking her over. She gasped as she desperately tried to catch her books and then held on to the hem of her dress to maintain her dignity. The motorcyclist stopped a bit of a distance away and turned around slowly to see her get on her knees and pick up her books. She seemed somewhat passive and stood up, continuing on her way as if nothing happened. The cyclist simply turned back around and went on their way. After a few more blocks, she entered an apartment complex and went up the stairs to the third floor. Taking out her keys, she entered her dark apartment and flicked on the lights. She locked the main door and turned to approach the room with big sparkling letters of “RIN” painted across it. She passed by another room with the big letters of “TOHRU” written across it. She smiled a little and opened the door carefully. She turned on her light and smiled as she approached her bed. Resting her books on the nightstand, Rin sat slowly on her bed and leaned over the sleeping gray cat with her three baby kittens (one with gray fur and white paws, one with gray ears and white body, and one with all gray but with a small white path on its forehead). Rin smiled warmly and turned to her books. She put Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to her right and some cat books on her left. She leaned back on her head board and picked up a book on kittens. She opened it up and began to read.

A little kitsune scurried around in a bunch of rose bushes and looked at the window with the light on. He looked like a small child, obviously a young kitsune demon. When he felt everything was quiet, he made his way across the yard to the side of the house, where he climbed the gutter and crept to the light that was on at the end of the roof. He peered in and saw Kagome's ebony black hair cascading down her back that was covered with a simple yellow spaghetti strapped tank top and rubber ducky pajama pants. She leaned over an apparently interesting book (he could tell by the concentrated look on her face) and he frowned a little. Darn, how am I gonna be able to do this with her in the room, he thought. He eyed his prize right next to her elbow, sitting on her medium sized jewelry box. It sparkled a little in its glory as the light from her table lamp reflected off its surface. He pondered for a while and smiled as a thought came to mind. He stuck his small hand in the sleeve of his green loose shirt (the outfit he wears in the show) and pulled out and amulet and leaf. He mumbled under his breath as he held the two together above his head. With a puff of smoke, the young critter turned invisible and chuckled to himself, “Hahahaha, she will never suspect that I'm here.” He opened the window, which was luckily unlocked and jumped inside. He crept over the sleeping cat on the floor named Buyo and approached the busy girl. When he saw her face turned away, he climbed up to the surface of the desk and sat next to her elbow. Kagome stopped reading and stiffened her back. She could have sworn she saw something move at the corner of her eye. Slowly, she shifted her eyes and saw a small puff of a tail beside her. She quickly looked back at her book, her eyes slightly wider, Oh my gosh...ghosts... The kitsune eyed his reward and reached out to get it, not realizing that his invisibility spell was wearing off pretty fast. Now, looking like a tiny idiot with a leaf and paper on his head, he put his hand on the smooth plastic covered packet of crayons he had been eyeing particularly for a few days now and snatched it quickly. He was not aware that Kagome had been eyeing him from the corner of her eye the entire time, thinking, Ohhhhh, that is sooo cute!! She had already realized it was not a ghost when she first saw him materialize right before her eyes. She now recognized him as the small child that continuously showed up somewhere in her house, stealing meaningless things that only appeal to small 6 year olds like himself, such as crayons, colored pencils, erasers, pens, paper, etc. He stuffed the crayons in his sleeve and looked at her to make sure she wasn't looking at his direction. He concentrated on the side of her face as she blankly stared at the book in front of her. He quickly smiled and made a funny, teasing face (crossed eyes and tongue sticking out) at her and chuckled to himself as he hopped off. He covered his mouth sloppily, thinking that she couldn't have possibly heard him. She turned a little and simply watched him as he oh-so-proudly marched himself out of her window. Smug with himself, he decided to taunt her behind her back again and turned around with his thumbs in his ears and tongue sticking out, only to catch her dark brown eyes with his green ones. There was silence as she stared right at him with a small smile on her face. He was frozen scared, not daring to move, hoping she was seeing through him. Then she smiled wider and waved at him. At that moment, he blushed and quickly took off. Scurrying clumsily over the roof and down the gutter, he made his way to the steps of the shrine and thought to himself, Shippo, you're so dumb!! She caught you!!!...well, at least you made it out with the crayons. She definitely did not notice that.
Kagome stood up and looked out of her window, smiling and wondering, I wonder when I will get the to chance to know my special cutie pie of a thief. She giggled at the thought and closed her window.

Beautiful blue eyes scanned the contents of a National Geographic magazine, Wolf Edition (*wink**wink*). Picking up a small blueberry muffin, the young boy of 17 took a large bite, leaving crumbs on his young, slightly tanned face. He wore a black leather jacket over a brown shirt and blue jeans. His clawed hand moved around the surface of the table for the napkin dispenser. Out of nowhere a napkin appeared before his eyes and he looked up the fair skinned hand, to the fair skinned arm, over the dark green tanktop to the bright green eyes of the waitress. She wore a long white skirt and dark blue apron. The pretty face looking down at him gave him a small, shy smile. He cleared his throat, nervously.
“Thanks.” he mumbled, taking the napkin and wiping his face.
“Your welcome, Kouga. You ready for your coffee?” asked the sweet voice, holding out his mug of coffee. He looked at the mug, then back at the magazine waving his hand, “Yeah, yeah. Set it down next to my muffin, Ayame.” Ayame set down the mug and pushed her red hair behind her ear shyly, “Do you need anything else?”
“Nah, I'm good. Go away now.” he said, immersed in his reading of wolf mating rituals. She smiled and strode away. She sat behind the counter of her grandfather's coffee shop, bit her lip and looked through the glass of the pastry cabinet at Kouga as he sipped his warm coffee. He looked at his coffee, smacked his lips a couple of times and sniffed his coffee. To make sure he tasted it right, he took a bigger sip and confirmed in his head, cinnamon spice again? Hmm... the old man must be doing something different with the coffee brew. Good thing it doesn't taste bitter like before.
Ayame sighed and slumped into her stool. She turned around and picked up her bag. She took out a small notebook and began writing:
Dear Diary,
I'm at work right now. Kouga is here, 9am sharp as usual. He's always on time. I gave him the copy of National Geographic: Wolf Edition that I was reading when he made his order. He seemed pretty grateful. I also served him his blueberry muffin and coffee with a bit of myself in it, cinnamon spice. I think he noticed the change of taste in his regular coffee since I started working at Grampa's shop. Kouga is sooooo dreamy!! I can't wait to ask him about the Back-to-School dance. My confidence is up and I think I'm ready. Gotta go now, a customer is waiting. Write back later.
The customer at the front continued to ding the bell and Ayame hurried over.
“Hello, welcome to Shiroi Ookami. What would you like today, madam?” She asked the elderly lady in front of her. She slouched over the counter a bit to see the little lady with glasses that made her eyes too big for her small, round, wrinkled old face.
“Yes, I would like $20 on pump 9 please. Regular gas would be fine.” said the old lady, shakily. Ayame tear dropped, “Ummm, madam? This is a coffee shop, not a gas station.”
“Oh wait, I mean, $15. Yeah, and you can keep the change, sweetie.” said the old lady with a smile. Ayame fell over anime-style. Kouga walked over to the front with his wallet in his hand. He looked down at the old woman.
“Look, old lady. This ain't a gas station, so beat it! I'm a paying customer!!” Kouga said crankily. He looked at the two shoe covered feet in the air on the other side of the counter,“Hey, Ayame, I'm gonna go now. Thanks for the mag.” He tossed the magazine and his 10 bucks on top of it. She quickly shot up from the floor with a big smile on her face, “Oh ok, Kouga!! Have a nice day!!” She waved at his retreating form when one thought struck her mind, go ask him, already, dumbass!! Her face changed to hopeful and she quickly ran around the counter. She jogged past the cursing old woman that was slowly making her way to the door. Ayame almost giggled at the obscenities spoken by the old lady regarding Kouga's disrespect towards the elderly.
“Wait, Kouga!!” she called once she was outside. He was already down the block at the time and turned around to face the voice that was calling him. He saw Ayame and stopped, Oh, did I forget my cellphone again? He felt in his pocket for his cellphone as she approached him. Her cheeks were pink from running a lot. She stopped in front of him and panted.
“What do ya want? I'm in a rush, so make it quick.” said Kouga impatiently as he took out his phone and checked the time. He's sooooo cute when he's impatient, she thought.
“Um, Kouga??...>gulp<... I...wanted to...ask you something.” she panted.
“What is it?” he asked. Blue eyes met green as thoughts raced through each other's mind. Ayame's mind had different ways of putting the question she wanted to say. Kouga's mind was going through all of the different things he really had to get done before he went home.
Ayame's heart raced at the sight of the one she loved. She could hardly put her words together. She hesitated a bit. 3 minutes had passed and he grew dangerously impatient.
“Look, if you're not saying anything, I'm---” he almost growled. That was it. She closed her eyes tight and a big bright blush covered her face as she almost yelled, “Will you go to the Back-to-school dance with me?” After a moment of silence, she opened her eyes a little. He was still standing in front of her. She opened her eyes all the way and looked him. He was looking at her dead in the face, somewhat shocked.

Kagome walked through a field. She held a basket on her arm that contained a small bunch of flowers. She paced through, picking up yellow flowers in small bundles and some herbs. She made her way to the other end of the field in about a half hour. At the end, there was a small pond. She put her basket down and kneeled down beside the pond. She bent down to take a small handful of water and sipped it up. She smiled slightly at the crisp, sweet taste. She then pulled a white handkerchief out of her sleeve and laid it out beside her. Then she spread out the herbs over the cloth. Picking up small bunches at a time, she pulled off the important leaves and flowers of specific herbs. Suddenly, the hairs on the back of her neck stood up. She immediately stopped her work. Her breaths silenced to small pants as she tried to think of what it was that she was sensing. She sat up, closing her eyes. Turned her now stoic face to her right, out towards the face. She was met with exactly what she thought. A baboon mask with white fur robe beneath, just standing there, staring at her. She kept her face stern and spoke, “You've reduced yourself so much that all you can do is stare at what you cannot have, Naraku?”
“Your attitude hasn't changed a bit since our last encounter...Good...I love your hatred, priestess Kikyo.” (WHAAAA??? not Kagome??...I knew that :P) said the very deep, haunting voice of the said Naraku character.
“What do you want?” she asked, sternly with daggers for eyes.
“Ohhh, you know the answer to that already.” Naraku said. He came closer and closer to her. She stood up slowly and held out her hand, holding a necklace. Opening it, she revealed a beautiful round pink jewel. It sparkled in the day sun and she spoke with a slight smile, “You mean this?” He laughed callously.
“I don't expect you to give it to me with such ease. When you understand my reasoning, you will be begging me to have it,” he said, stopping in his place, “then and only then will I get the two things I have wanted for so long.”
Kikyo frowned and held up the jewel between her fingers, “Be gone with you!” The jewel glowed and a beam of bright purple flew from it towards the baboon mask. Naraku immediately disintegrated by the beam. His dolls do not fool me, she thought, pulling back the jewel safely to her chest. She heard silence for a while until his voice echoed around her, “Well done, Kikyo. You saw right through my doll. We will be meeting in person very soon. I'll be waiting.”
“And I'll be ready” she said angrily. She turned to the pond in front of her and kneeled down. She looked around the bank and found what she was looking for, a small round pebble, the size of the Shikon jewel in her hand. She held the jewel to the pebble and the pebble glowed. Soon, she held two identical objects in both of her hands. Pulling out a bow and single arrow from her sleeve, she wrapped the real jewel around the arrow. She blessed the arrow with a little of her miko power and mumbled a few words in a chant. She aimed the arrow towards the large tree (that was small to her vision because it was so far, but it was biggest relative to the surrounding trees) she saw in the very, very far distance and shot with all her might. She heard the faint whistling of the arrow as it whizzed away from her. She stared in the direction and sat down. Putting her bow and the “jewel” in her sleeve, she picked up her herbs and put them back in the basket, I don't feel good all of a sudden. Maybe it is from the foul smell in the air. She stood and walked to the hut in the distance.
