There was a solemn breeze blowing through Sengoku Jidai tonight. Perched high above the open field below, making Goshinboku his safe haven for the evening, InuYasha glanced once more at the deathly still figure below. He'd never felt such agonizing anxiety for anyone as he'd felt only recently; it had come on so sudden this ailment of hers, and nothing in that monstrosity of a backpack of hers could help the situation. None of those dark green syrupy liquids, nor the funny smelling white chalky pills, the magic white disks that fizzled when they made contact with water--nothing worked! He was at a loss and fought the perverse urge to scream to the heavens...all over this simple Ningen. How could such a diminutive female turn him inside out without really trying? Surely he hadn't become so weak in this journey he'd become a part of in search of the Shikon no Kakera with pathetic--yet occasionally useful mortals--to feel the need to submit to feelings of camaraderie, trust...love; had he?

'Shit, I need you to be okay, damn it! Don't you fucking die on me, ya hear me?!!!' he fumed to himself.
