AN: I know I said that I would have another update up within a couple of days, well… something happen… about 2 feet of freaken snow happened…. This is my front yard

yeah… not cool… and on top of that we have snow drifts… so every time we freaken shovel… damn wind blows it back over again!!, and when I get the damn driveway clear… snow plows come and block it off again… Grr… so that's my reason for not updating… I'm shoveling

Chapter 9

It's Swimming Time!

Kagome was out before the rest of the girls and nodded at the gym teacher.

"I'm just gonna do a few laps till everyone is ready." Kagome said just before she dove into the pool. Unbeknownst to her a certain boy was just coming out of the boy's locker room…

Soon Kagome was lost in her own world of swimming letting all of her cares drift away with each stroke. She was completely lost in her own world, and as always the same thing ran through her head…

`when I go walking I strut my stuff and I'm so strung out

I'm high as a kite and I just might…

Inuyasha had stepped out of the locker room just as Kagome had dove into the shallow end of the swimming pool, he took a step forward thinking she was going to hit her head, when she popped right back up and started to swim. He stood in his spot for a moment admiring her form, `she really is a good swimmer' he thought.

This was the first time that Inuyasha had been in the pool, he was able to tear his eyes away from Kagome because other people were starting to enter the pool area. His eyes began roaming around the pool area, it was a good size pool with a diving well. It was painted red and white, the school's colors. His eyes glanced up at the large record board that was on the opposite wall and was surprised to see that Kagome's name on some of the records.

The whistle screeched loudly to get everyone's attention and Inuyasha had to flatten his ears against the sound. He hadn't even really noticed that everyone was now out of the locker rooms, and was crowding the side watching Kagome swim laps. Once Kagome finished she stopped at the shallow end and pulled off her goggles. Inuyasha was transfixed as he watched her dip her head back into the water and push her hair back, only to come up slowly as the water cascaded down her body. He secretly wished he could be one of those droplets of water.

"Class I'm sure all of you know Kagome Higurashi. She's been swimming for quite some time and she is going to help me teach you some of the basic strokes." Some of the boys chuckled at this, but the teacher ignored it and continued on. Kagome leaned back against the side of the pool, deciding for the warmth of the water rather than the cold of the air. It was always colder when you got out of the pool. She barely listened to the teacher as she went on about each stroke and what it did, and where it came from. Kagome was more concerned with keeping her eyes off Inuyasha. She had noticed how good he looked in a swimsuit last weekend, and she didn't need a reminder.

"Kagome could you demonstrate the Butterfly?" The teacher asked. Kagome nodded her head and put her goggles back on. With one hand she held on to the side of the pool, and then placed her feet on the side and pushed off with ease. She was soon gliding underwater, and then came up and brought her hands up and around to the front of her fast, while her feet did a dolphin kick. Inuyasha watched with amazement. `No wonder her name is on the record board.' Inuyasha was oddly proud of her.

The teacher then asked Kagome to demonstrate a few other strokes, like the backstroke and the breaststroke, and gave the students instructions and tips on how do it.

"Okay, everyone in the pool, Kagome you can come out and help me correct people". Inuyasha was barely listening as the teacher gave further instructions to the students, instead his attention was pulled towards Kagome as she was pulling herself out of the pool. She merely did a little hop and she was out of the pool, the water slid of her slowly, he was entranced once again by her looks. He was snapped out of it when he felt a tap on his should and swung his head around quickly to yell at whoever dare interrupt him. He saw Kikyo standing there and growled.

"Hello, Inuyasha. How are you?" She asked coyly as she moved slowly closer to him, reaching a hand out and tracing a finger down his bar chest. Inuyasha batted her hand away.

"Don't touch me Kikyo." He snapped at her and turned away started to head towards the pool. Kikyo only snaked out a hand and grabbed his wrist.

"I though you loved me?" She asked him with a puppy dog look upon her face. Inuyasha sighed and turned back to look at her,

"I did Kikyo, but you kinda ruined that when you wouldn't listen to me, and wouldn't believe me" Inuyasha pulled his arm away and jumped into the pool.

On the other side of the pool Kagome had watched the whole scene from afar. She felt a slight pang of jealousy when Kikyo grabbed his arm

What me jealous of that perverted jerk?!

Kagome snorted slightly and shook her head to clear it of the offensive thoughts.

Like I said before sorry for the long update, but been busy shoveling and school… and yadda yadda yadda.. you know the drill =D
