Chapter 5

My Woman…

“Now is the time to attack, my Lord.”

“Why now?”

“The hanyou doesn't trust the ningen girl anymore.”

“Nice job, Kamuro…”

“We?”

“Yeah, I'm traveling with you,” Yuu said simply.

“You as sure as hell are not!” Inuyasha yelled.

Kagome just stood there, silently pleading with Sango to do something about the situation…

“Then let Kagome stay with me!” Yuu yelled back.

“Why you! Kagome would never do that to me… - us!”

“Oh, yeah? She sounded okay with the idea! She was just scared of your reaction!”

The word hit Inuyasha hard. Scared. Was she? She was last night, when he turned full demon. He just wished he knew what he did. But to get back to the present, did she really want to get that serious with Yuu? Just a week ago, he was sure she had feelings for him. But now? He didn't know anymore. He didn't know anything…For the first time in his life, he was scared…scared of feelings.

“Kagome…?” he asked her slowly, completely ignoring Yuu.

She didn't know what to do. He seemed so...sad…Was he, really?

“Inu…Don't be mad…”she whispered, knowing he would be the only one to hear her if she spoke so softly, “I need someone…to take care of me, that way…”

He walked over to her slowly and stared into her eyes. “Am I not enough of that?”

Staring into his amber eyes, she was scared of what she saw. Her eyes watered and she closed them, walking backwards. When she opened them again, she had tears running down her cheeks, “no…” she whispered, “you have to stop leading me on…”, before running into the woods, ignoring Yuu's voice calling her.

`No,' she thought, running, `but oh, how I wish you loved me…my one and only true love…'

He felt like he was going to die. All his hopes were now gone. Nothing was left. Nothing. Nada. He was hoping - maybe - if he talked to her, something would happen…But now…Was he supposed to go after her? No. She would probably reject him again. He couldn't stand it.

“Hello-o!” Yuu yelled, getting in front of him, “are you there, dog-shit?”

Inuyasha just stared at him and `kehed' before jumping on a tree close to them. He then jumped, tree by tree, to another one close by. Yuu was smirking, this was all working out the way he wanted it to…

Kagome sat on a rock, sobbing. This was too much. What? Was he playing with her emotions now! Why? Why did he have to ruin the happiness she had with Yuu? She liked him - no, she loved him. Why? `Cause he's just like Inuyasha! The Inu-hanyou wasn't just rejecting her, she was now looking for him in other guys!

"Kagome!" a voice called from behind her, but it wasn't Inuyasha, nor Yuu. "Kags!" Koga said, kneeling in front of her, "why are you crying?"

"Urgh...It's just..." she stopped. It wasn't really a good idea to tell Koga bout Yuu..."I'm in a bad week..."she lied.

"Oh..." he said, blushing, "Can I cheer you up?" he asked sweetly.

"Sure, Koga-kun...I'd love that..."she smiled.

Koga smiled back, got up and tugged on her hand. She gladly let him, and followed him. They walked a little, then he picked her up and held her bridal-style.

"Ready?"

"Huh..? - aaaaaaah!" she yelled as he took off. With the two shard in his legs, he could run faster than Inuyasha. It was so much fun! She rest her head on his chest. She couldn't see anything, they were going too fast, but she could feel the wind slapping their skin and she loved every second of it.

Koga suddenly came to a halt, and opened her eyes, to see a very angry Yuu standing in front of them.

"Uh-oh..." she whined.

"WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY KAGOME?" Yuu yelled

"WHAT?" Koga yelled back, "YOUR KAGOME? SHE'S MY WOMAN!"

"THE HELL SHE ISN'T!" another voice yelled.

Kagome gasped as she was snatched from Koga's arms and sent right into Inuyasha's.

"Yash...?" she questionned slowly.

"Don't." He firmly answered her, "Let me handle Koga."

Handle?

"Inu - " she was cut off by barking.

No way! Inuyasha and Koga were actually having a conversation, and barking, no less! Kagome and Yuu were astounded. This was the weirdest thing ever!

When the were done 'talking', Koga was growling at Yuu, but made no attempt to attack him, much to Kagome's - happy - surprise. She was still in Inuyasha's arms, and he was pressing her flush against him.

"Can you...let go, now...?" she asked softly.

"Huh...?" Inuyasha asked, completely unaware that his hands were now onher waist.

"LET GO OF HER, YOU FREAK!" Yuu screamed at him.

With this, both Inuyasha and kagome glared at him, and he knew he had made a teriible mistake.He knew Kagome harboured feeling for Inuyasha, who was too stupid to do anything about it. But he also knew it wasn't a good idea to piss of the very overprotectivehanyou...

"Yuu Namiru," Kagome said, pushing herself from Inuyasha, trying to sound calm, "Inuyasha is NOT a freak!" she inwardly smiled at Inuyasha's growl of approval. Now, she was on the right side.

Yuu gulped; Kagome had used his full name...this wasBIG. He was in deep trouble.

"I -I..."he stammered.

"I want you to take that back right now!" she commanded, crossing her arms on her chest. Inuyasha smirked.He was so glad Kagome was taking his side, and it was nice to have her say he wasn't a freak. As much as he tried to look andsound mean and cold-hearted, he still felt likehis heart broke evry time someone called hima freak, or a worthless half-breed. He had heard it so much, he was actually thinking it himself...Hearing Kagome defend him was...just...reassuring.

He tried saying something to defend himself, but Kagomegently placed her hand on his chest, and he decided to keep his mouth shut, just to have her touch him.

WAIT!

Wow! Since when did he start craving her touch? He usually tried not to touch her, to keep her at arm's lenght, but now was different. Kikyo was gone.He wasfree to love Kagome if he wanted to.

Well, the 'am I not enough of that' part was angsty...Well, some people asked me if this was an IK story, and it IS. So areALL my other ones. I cannot stand to see Kag or Inu with someone else. I might have a few fics withother pairings like Sango-Miroku, Sessh-Kagura...but mostly Inu-Kag. (my user name IS InuKag-Obsession for a reason!Anywayzz, please r&r tell me if u like it, and ideas are always welcome, even if the plot for this story is already set up. Trust me, its gonna be very angsty. And tell me if the angst in this chap touched u in any way...And if u like angst, read my one-shots: Kagome Snaps and songfic Everytime We Touch. Theyre both angsty, but with a nice twist. Well, that was a long authours note...Ill stop babbling now and start typing the next chapter...
