Chapter 8

 

Naraku dropped Inuyasha on the ground & left. I ran to him & shook him for him to wake, but he didn't wake up. I began to cry when Kouga came over & saw me crying. I put Inuyasha's head in my lap & brushed his bangs out of his eyes. Kouga gasped when he couldn't hear Inuyasha's breathing. He down sat by me & squeezed my shoulders. Inuyasha woke up with a loud painful gasp.

 

Kouga stood up & started to walk away from our spot. Inuyasha lifted himself up slowly & called Kouga. Kouga kept walking away only imagining what Inuyasha would have said to him. Inuyasha looked at me & then he stood up to go somewhere to think. I grabbed my bag & left when I saw Inuyasha's pants. I grabbed them & walked to the hut.

 

When I got to the hut everyone except for Shippo was sleeping. He was thinking what went on between me & Kouga today. He looked up at me & blinked at me. I looked at him & gasped at the sight of his neck. He climbed up my arm & rested on my shoulder. I went to my bedroll & slept for the rest of the night. Inuyasha went to the god tree. When dawn came I woke up & seen Inuyasha walking in the hut. I pretended to sleep until he noticed.

 

I got up slowly & Inuyasha pushed me back down. I looked up to see him still walking away. I snuggled in closer to Shippo & went back to sleep. Inuyasha jolted & fell on top of me. I looked at him & saw that he finally was getting up. He saw me on the ground & held out his hand. I shook my head & used the offered hand.

 

Inuyasha sniffed the surroundings to see if any youkai were around. I ran up to the tree & went to the bathroom. He waited for me get done & then jumped in the air. I held on to him tightly until we landed. He held me until I was balanced. I smiled weakly remembering the night before that Inuyasha almost died. He gave in to the thought that I was having one of those days.

 

I stood there waiting for any sign of him staring at me. All I did was stand there looking stupid. Inuyasha came to me & hugged me. I was still waiting for something to come & attack us. I slowly broke the contact of the hug & found a serpent youkai coming for us. Inuyasha grabbed me & put me in a tree. The serpent youkai was about to attack when I was settled in the tree.

 

The tree shook & I about fell out when the serpent hit it. Inuyasha ran ready to attack when he heard me whimper & he looked over at me & saw me grasping my ankle. The serpent hit him in the chest & injected poison in to his body. I climbed down & ran to him. The youkai felt the presents of the shikon no tama on me. I got up slowly & ran to the river where I ran into Naraku.

 

He grabbed hold of me & took me to his castle. I was afraid that I was going to die so I screamed each time that he would run around the trees. He started to fly & I thought to myself that I wasn't going to ever see Inuyasha again. When Inuyasha woke up & saw that I was gone. He sniffed the area to see if I was around. My sent was faint but it still lingered so he went the way it had been leading until he got to Naraku's castle.
