[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Inuyasha couldn't sleep. He knew Kagome was crying, and it was because
of him. It was his fault only. He could smell her tears, hear her
choked sobs, and see her shoulders shaking. It was 10 times worse then when
ever he had seen Kikyo cry. He had always known just what to do or say.
When Kagome cried, he felt helpless. It was worse when he was the
cause. He didn't know how he felt about Kikyo anymore. He had to talk to
someone. Kagura he didn't quite trust yet. Miroku would just smile
pervertedly, and he couldn't talk to Kagome about it! Myoga would give
alecture, and Shippo and Sango would tell Kagome at the first oppertunity.
Kirara couldn't talk. that left............ Koga. Inuyasha growled. He
didn't have much of a choice. At least Koga could be trusted to keep kinda
quiet, and knew something about love. Inuyasha quietly dropped from his
tree.
" Hey, Koga! wake up!" Inuyasha shook the wolf youkai awake.
" Wha-? Inuyasha, what are you doing? I need to sleep!" Koga said,
careful not to wake anyone.
" I need to talk to you."
" About?"
Inuyasha hesitated.
" Well, go on?"
" It's stupid. Nevermind."
" No really? You got me up, so i might as well hear you out."
" Well, you know Kikyo?"
" That dead miko that's keeps following you around?"
" Yeah. Well....... I don't know if I love her." Inuyasha stated.
There. He had said it.
" So? You're going to go to Hell with her anyway. You ahve to love her
to go through all that."
" Yeah." Inuyasha said, preoccupied. "But I'm doing that out of guilt.
I feel like I owe her. She died for me."
" And you died for her, dog- turd. She died because she chose to keep
you around and she died from the wounds Naraku inflicted. She then
attacked you because you attacked her dear little home village after Naraku,
looking like her, attacked you. She's the one who owes you, if
anything. And what about those times she tried to kill Kagome?"
" Wha-?" Inuyasha was shocked speechless. " She tried to kill- How do
you know this? I didn't even know she tried to kill Kagome! She never
told me!"
" The monk told me. Are you satisfied now? Can I sleep?" Inuyasha had
already lept into a nearby tree. Koga got the hint and went back to
sleep, figuring that Inuyasha wouldn't want him to tell the others.

Inuyasha thought a lot up in his tree. It was morning by the time he
had finished thinking. He knew what he should do, he just didn't know
how'd he'd actually carry it through.

" Yo, Miroku!"
" Yes Inuyasha?"
" I need to talk to you!"
" What for?"
' Just come on!"
Miroku followed Inuyasha a ways from the group.
" Yes?"
" Well, can you put dead souls to rest? Even ones with a body?"
Miroku saw what he was getting at. " If you want to put Lady Kikyo to
rest I shall of course, assist."
" I was just asking if it was possible!" Inuysaha snapped.
" So, you admit that you were thinking of Lady Kikyo?"
" Could you do it?!"
" I could, but do you want it done? It might take a while, since she is
so troubled."
" Do it!"
"All right. I'd need to see Lady Kikyo."
"I'm meeting her again at sunset. Is this the right thing to do Miroku.
I can't help but feel like I'm betraying her............again."
" You are and have betrayed no one, Inuyasha. It would be painful for
her to stay like that for long. She should have been put to rest a long
time ago. The sould she has used will also be able to go free." Miroku
turned to head back to camp.
" Wait Miroku!"
" Yes?"
" Don't tell............. anyone. Ecspecially Kagome."
" I will not disclose this information Inuyasha, don't worry."

At sunset, Inuyasha got up to go to Kikyo again. Miroku also left, not
giving an explaination for his leaving. Inuyasha and Miroku met where
they had talked earlier.
"Let's go." Inuyasha said, the words hanging heavily on the air. They
had a final sound to them, and that was the first time MIroku was
absolutely convinced that Inuyasha would go through with his plan.
