InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Other Kitsune ❯ Secret of Kiniata ( Chapter 3 )
The Secret of Kiniata
This new nightmare was not something the Kitsune preferred to see. It was not merely a nightmare, but a horrible memory of a past deed. More or less it was an accident, but still it saddened him and angered him at the same time. This was the night that he killed his parents.
The moon was full and it was extraordinarily cold for that time of year. Everything was fine until he had caught sight of the moon. Something awakened inside of him, and an extreme sense of anger and urgency to kill someone. It not only his misfortune, but also that of his parents who were the first ones he caught sight of. They would have been able to defend themselves had they known what was going on. This was the beginnings of the Kitsune type of "puberty." Kiniata's parents were not his true birth parents. He never knew what happened to them, and so he was found by a young couple who just happened be wandering nearby.
That was one the few fortunate events that happened in his life. But during this entire time, he could see what he was doing, and hear everything, but he was not able to control it. The father was the first do die. With one fell swoop of his claws, his father lay dead on the ground, blood flowing freely from his throat. There was no time to react. His mother was next, but something held him back when saw her. She seemed so fragile in that moment…so delicate. But that was not enough to stop him for long, the bloodlust was still in him, and he needed to kill more. He leapt upon his mother and began to scratch and bite her, tearing her clothes to shreds, creating more and more wounds. And then all of a sudden, everything was dark, and he was now unconscious.
The next morning he found what he had done. He heard a whimpering coming form nearby and he saw his mother. Dying slowly…painfully… She saw her son awaken and walk to her. He held her head in his lap as the light faded from her eyes. Tears began to build in his eyes,
"Forgive me mother," he whispered softly. "I didn't mean to…it just happened." She choked as she spoke, blood slowly flowing from her mouth,
"I know…it's…" She coughed, sprayer her son with her blood. "It's ok…I still…love…you…" And like that, she was gone. The light left her eyes and she fell limp in his arms as he hugged her one last time.
This time when Kiniata had awoken, he sat up with fury burning inside of him. Pain forgotten in his moment of anger and remorse, he ran out of the house. He needed to kill again. He ran into the forest, he could smell prey in the area. Deer, rabbits, and…human… He ran towards the scent of human. They would be a more challenging thing to hunt. He needed to release his anger, and they would suffice. He burst into the village, eliciting screams of terror from the villagers.
The men took up what they had to defend themselves and their families. Some with only a pitchfork, and only a few with real swords. They were not enough to stop his reigning claws from gashing open their skin. By then InuYasha had burst into the area. The scent of blood, as well as the screams of terror had been enough to catch his attention. Tetsusaiga was draw, and he was ready to destroy anything that threatened him.
As soon as he saw the dead bodies of those he knew, he was furious. He saw the new "weak and injured" Kitsune standing over them. He saw InuYasha as well and ran straight at him, clawing and trying to bite. Even through his anger, InuYasha recognized what was going on. Demonic blood had possessed Kiniata to kill. From his own experiences, he knew what it was like to have that happen. His anger was gone, and he was trying to find a way to subdue him. He figured knocking him unconscious was the only course of action.
He knew it wouldn't be too hard to do such a thing. The only thing that would be on Kiniata's mind was to kill. He waited for his chance to attack. As soon as Kiniata rushed him, InuYasha bounded into the air and smashed the hilt of his sword into the back of the Kitsune's head. And once again, Kiniata was unconscious; now only in a dark, dreamless sleep.
