Prologue

The Beginning


It had happened. It had finally happened. Her mother had died and was no longer in any more pain. Kagome hugged her brother, Souta, tightly as the doctor told her the news.
“I’m sorry, Kagome. I could do nothing to stop it.”
“That’s okay. You tried your hardest and that’s all that matters now.” The doctor squeezed Kagome’s shoulder sympathetically before he walked out.
“Sister what did he mean?” Kagome kneeled down in front of her brother and looked into his eyes.
“He meant that mom went to a better place. She no longer hurts.”
“Can we go with her or see her?”
“No, Souta. We have to wait a long time before we can be with her again.” Kagome hugged Souta again.
A couple days later, Lady Kaede came to Kagome’s house. She had been a friend of their mother’s and had come to check on her. When she found Kagome and Souta alone, she brought them to live with her at the theater. Kagome met a girl named Sango there and they became best friends. Souta found a two tailed cat and called it Kirara.
Sango and Kagome learned how to dance ballet, while Souta learned how to act. The three also learned that Kirara was a special kind of cat. She could transform into a bigger version of herself. They didn’t share this information with anyone.
