“Thanks, Kouga. You were a big help.”
“Not a problem. Anything for you, Kagome.” As he placed Kagome back on her own feet, he held fast to one of her hands and gave it a swift kiss, causing her to blush prettily.
“Heh. You're the best! I'll catch up with you later, Kouga. And thanks again,” she smiled at him as he turned to leave, trying to hide her embarrassment. As Kouga faded into the distance Kagome turned to head back towards the village, but was met with a wall of red fabric.
“Inuyasha! What are you doing here?”
“I was comin' to get you back from the well, but I see you already had another <i>escort</i>.” Inuyasha crossed his arms and looked away in a failed attempt to conceal his jealousy.
“What? Kouga? You're kidding right?”
“Feh. It looked like you two were pretty cozy to me.”
“Oh, Inuyasha. Kouga was just…doing me a favor.”
Inuyasha's eyes grew wide. “What kind of favor?”
“Well, if you <i>must</i> know he was helping me carry back all the extra Ramen I had packed."
Inuyasha's jaw dropped. Kouga must have had no idea who the noodles were for.
“What?” Kagome let out a soft sigh. “Don't hate the player, Inuyasha, hate the game,” she said casually as she waved a hand in the air and walked past him to head toward the village.
