9. A Westland View.
He patiently sat there observing her every move. She was so determined not to leave her seat that she continued eating. She could feel his gaze upon her but she chose to ignore it and continued eating. She looked at the drapes, the seats, the candles but not his eyes.
When she took the last bite and she drank the last sip of sake she used the napkin to wipe her lips. She dared to look at him. He had been sitting against his chair with his right hand lazily supporting his chin. He had been leaning against it, watching her.
She met his gaze and said, “All done.”
“I see,” he replied.
“What's for dessert?” she asked looking around.
“That's waiting for us in our bedroom,” he said almost with a rumble.
She couldn't help but blush furiously.
He stood up and extended his hand, “Shall we?”
She held his hand and said. “Couldn't we go out for a walk? Let's go outside for a while.”
He raised an eyebrow with displeasure.
She then turned to him, “The fresh air will help me work an appetite for dessert.”
To this he gave a small hint of a smile and said, “Very well.”
They were on the roof which was a terrace where they could observe the vastness of the land. They could see the valley, the river, and the forests. He had her go up a step, stood right behind her and placed his arm around her belly and hugged her.
He whispered in her ear, “This is all yours.”
She smiled and leaned against him saying, “Shouldn't half of this be Inuyasha's?”
He said, “All of it is his too.”
An ugly yet inevitable thought came to her mind. “Is this the reason why you try to kill him, because you want this all for yourself?”
She was feeling sick all of a sudden.
“No.” He said.
She looked up to the scenery confused.
To her annoyance he was not volunteering any information
“Then why?” She asked.
He did not reply.
She turned to look at his profile. He had been leaning his chin against her right shoulder. He returned her gaze and raised his eyebrows ever so slightly.
“Why do you want to kill Inuyasha?” She insisted.
He said, “I was obsessed with the Tetsusaiga, but I never planned on killing him.”
She heard the words but did not believe them.
“I...” she hesitated, “I don't believe you.”
“Then don't.” He stated.
She looked down. She had to pursue the subject further.
“How can I believe you when every fight was a near death experience for Inuyasha? I know. I was there when you stabbed your poisonous finger nails through his back. I was there when you used Toukijin to fight him; both times he was so close to death that he turned into a demon.”
He did not reply determined to drop the subject.
“If you never planned to kill him then what was all that for? Was it for sport, a sick means for entertainment?” She said trying to contain her anger.
He said simply, “I have my reasons.”
Her breathing became erratic. By now she was fuming.
How could he say that he did not intend to kill him after all those near death experiences? She asked herself.
She then lowered her head and trying with all her might to control her fury she said with shaking fists down to her sides, “As your mate I demand that you tell me your reasons.”
He remained silent.
She could no longer contain her rage, she moved to turn around but he squeezed her tight keeping her in place.
He growled against her neck this time, “This does not concern you.”
Her eyes were tearing in frustration; she looked up to the sky and cried out, “It does!” Then she looked back down and said quietly between tears, “As your mate it does.”
She felt the breeze blow softly against her wet cheeks.
He finally answered reluctantly, “It was training.”
She looked up to the scenery since she was still being held tight by him from behind.
She could not believe what she just heard.
“How can you say that? Impossible.” She scoffed.
For once he did say something out of his own volition, “When I fight there are never any survivors.”
She rebutted, “No, Inuyasha defeated you all those times.”
Sesshomaru paused. He said. “He did defeat me when he used the Wind Scar, but at all other times it was I who decided to end the fight. It was my intention to make it appear as though he had defeated me.”
Kagome shook her head from side to side in disbelief. Can this be true? She asked herself.
“If it is training, then why did you have to take it so far? He has almost died countless times thanks to your so called training!” She exclaimed.
“It was a means to an end.” He said simply.
“What end? What could possibly warrant such extreme punishment?” She said outraged.
Sesshomaru paused as he recognized that the conversation had gone further than he had intended. It was too late to stop now.
He responded saying, “As a Hanyou he is weak. Although he has absolutely no strategy he learns with experience. This training has assisted in turning him into a formidable opponent. Because of that, he has not only survived Naraku but he has also defeated him.”
Kagome heard the words but she just couldn't believe them. She countered his conclusions with her own, “Sorry to burst your bubble but, I believe that Inuyasha improved from all the challenges that he was forced to face. Not from your fights. It was your fights that made him weak and vulnerable to other attacks.”
“Be that as it may, I fought him to train him not to kill him.” He finished.
“Inuyasha will never believe this.” She said still shaking her head in disbelief.
“He will never know about this.” He responded.
“He has to know!” She contradicted.
“No.” He said with finality.
Using her own words against her he said, “And as your mate, I demand that you do not say a word about this to anyone.”
She saw how a bird flew in front of them towards the trees. “But you don't understand. This means that we misjudged you.”
She continued in her mind, you were not his enemy; you were not my enemy. We could have been allies from long before.
“What matters is that he took me seriously and that the training was a success.” He declared loosening his grip on her.
She turned around and looked at him carefully while she wiped away the tears from her eyes and cheeks.
Is there no end to the surprises that this man has in store? She asked herself.
Upon reflection she said, “You paid a high price for these training sessions.”
He looked at her questioningly. She then raised her hand and touched his left shoulder stroking it down to its length that was no more than a few inches.
“That,” he said, “was blind arrogance and obsession for the Tetsusaiga.”
Discretely she wiped the sleeve of her robe against her nose, sniffing.
“Have you ever tried to get another arm?” she said thinking about Naraku and how he absorbed demons all the time.
“I have tried that. Nothing other than my old arm will suffice.” He responded.
Noticing that she had achieved composure, he made her turn back around and positioned himself behind her as before. He held her again. This time she leaned back against him trying to take in what they had just discussed.
They stood there absorbing the sun rays, feeling the soft breeze, smelling the sweetness of fresh flowers combined with the smell of the trees surrounding the castle.
He continued hugging her from behind and smelled her scent which was always so sweet and arousing. He started to sway from side to side allowing his member to find its way right between her butt cheeks.
She blushed at this but allowed herself to enjoy the feeling. A purr began in his chest and she was becoming entranced by it.
He started to walk backwards. She carefully stepped down and as he kept walking backwards he had to bend his knees so he wouldn't loose the placement he had on her.
She giggled at the fact that he was coming down to her height. She let him take her to their bedroom.
Rin and Jaken who were at the gardens had witnessed the entire exchange between the miko and the Youkai.
Rin was giddy with happiness about Kagome being her Mom as Sesshomaru was her Dad. Jaken was beside himself for Sesshomaru's choice for a mate. But, at the same time he couldn't deny his admiration for the human girl.
