The Runaway

Sitting by her mirror running a brush thoroughly through her elbow length ebony hair, she glanced up at her reflection and sighed heavily. He had been gone for three months now, and life was miserable without him. She missed his long jet-black hair, his warm and passion filled violet eyes. She missed his bronze colored skin, tanned from all those sunny days in the pool, but most of all, she missed him.
Her parents at first liked him, but they too shunned him because of his past. But no matter how hard they had tried, she would always stay by his side, because she had fallen in love with a runaway.
Putting her brush down onto her vanity table, she rose to her feet and let her pale blue nightgown cascade down to her feet. It was late and there was school tomorrow. Picking up all the strewn about papers, the young seventeen-year-old put them away then headed to her bed.
Slowly covering herself with the large pinkish-red colored comforter, she laid her head down onto her soft and inviting pillows as her eyes drifted closed and she let the childish dreams of story tale fantasies claim her into a deep sleep.

He slowly strolled down the poorly lit streets, it was no later than midnight and his mind wandered to helpless thoughts of the girl he gave his heart to, the girl he loved.
Pulling his coat closer to his body, the nineteen-year-old kept a steady pace as he headed to one house in particular. He had been gone for three months and counting, and ooh how he missed her. From her silky ebony hair and sparkling chocolate eyes, to the smile that captured his heart so long ago.
He had had everything as a child, but he was lonely. His father being a wealthy man, and his mother once a stage performer. They had it all, but lets just say that they didn't find the happy ending that either of them were looking for. He had finally gone to his half brother, who had helped him runaway yet again, and he fled the beautiful country of Japan at the age of twelve. Now in Arizona, he had found himself, he was complete, he was whole until his past returned to haunt him and in return he had to run away
Finally coming to the house he searched for, he easily jumped the gate and headed to her window. Sighing heavily, he dropped the heavy backpack from his shoulders and quietly opened the window. Cautiously climbing into the dark room, he glanced around, it was exactly the way he had last seen it.
Everything was neatly in place, and it still smelled faintly of fresh cucumbers and honeydew. The soft playing music could be barely heard from her stereo, but the rhythm was hypnotic. He smiled at the song that currently floated through the room like a lullaby. "Me and the moon" by Something Corporate.
Going over to her bedroom door, he locked it incase any unwanted visitors should try and check on his sleeping beauty. Slowly and quietly he crept over to her bedside and sat in the chair, just staring at her smooth face, she looked so radiant as she slept. He never thought that someone like her could love him, but he was more than grateful that she did. Glancing at his watch it read twelve forty-five, and he only had a few more hours before he would have to be on his way.
Completely going against his better judgment, he got up from the chair, pulled down the covers and climbed into the queen sized bed with her, draping one of his arms around her midsection as he deeply inhaled her intoxicating aroma. He closed his eyes as her body turned into his, clinging somewhat to his warmth.
Kissing her forehead he whispered, "I missed you so much Kagome."

She hadn't been asleep for that long when she felt her bed shift, but she brushed it off thinking it was her enormously hefty and sometimes annoying cat Buyo. That thought was instantly thrown out when an arm slipped over her stomach. Her heart began to race, but she managed to keep her eyes closed as she turned to see him.
Once the words left his lips, her eyes shot open as she stared at his face, it was loosing the tan, and he looked so weary. Laying her head on his chest as she moved closer to his body, not wanting him to be just another one of her lonely dreams.
"I missed you too Inuyasha…” She choked out as the tears started to pour from her eyes.
His arm tightened around her body and she lifted her head to stare into his wide and surprised violet orbs. His mouth opened and closed a few times, but no words came forth. Reaching up, she touched his cheek and smiled as he leaned into her touch. Removing her hand, she hugged him close to her body and never wanted to let go.
"I thought I'd never see you again Inuyasha!" She said softly into his shoulder.
He didn't say anything in reply as he held her close, not wanting to let her leave his arms, but knowing better. Pulling away from her, he sat up and faced the window that he had come from.
"Kagome," He said sullenly, "I can't stay long... I will have to leave soon and I can't really say if I'll ever be back..."
She sat up and rested her head on his shoulder as her arms wrapped gently around his chest. She wanted him to stay, but she knew that he couldn't, it was impossible.
"Then we don't have much time to waste do we?" She whispered kissing his neck.
"But what about your parents?" He asked biting back a moan.
"Not home…” She managed to say before he turned around and kissed her fiercely.
Pushing her against the pillows, Inuyasha put his hands underneath the straps of her nightgown and slowly slid the article of clothing from her body. Smiling, he covered her mouth with his in a searing kiss as one of his hands roamed the curves of her side, sending gooseflesh over her body and the other hand gently kneading one of her exposed breasts.
Whimpering at the loss of his lips on hers, she moaned as he placed hot open mouthed kisses down her neck and to the valley of her now hardened peaks. He didn't pay attention to Kagome as she too got up and dressed herself in a pair of short shorts and a black wife beater. Putting on his shoes, he glanced down at his watch, it was six thirty a.m.
"Fuck!" He growled as he put on his coat and went over to the window.
"Inuyasha wait!!" Kagome called in a hushed whisper as she rushed over to his side.
He looked at her and she hugged him close as she gave him a chaste kiss, tears forming in her eyes.
"I'm going to miss you!" She choked out.
Glancing at the door and back onto his lovely Kagome, he thought long and hard. Millions of ideas racing throughout his mind, but he didn't want to leave her, he couldn't.
"Come with me Kagome!" He blurted out.
"What?" She asked skeptically backing up.
"Run away with me Kagome!" Inuyasha said boldly, "Please... I don't want to be alone anymore and I can't live without you. Please runaway with me..."
Contemplating what he asked, Kagome rushed over to her closet and pulled out a backpack and started pulling clothes off their hangers, telling Inuyasha to dump some of her clothes from her dresser onto her bed. He did it quickly and she came to his side jamming clothes into the yellow bag along with the rest of her necessities. Grabbing a pair of tennis shoes, she put them on as she tossed her hair into a messy bun.
"We have to hurry before your parents come!" Inuyasha said tossing the bag over his shoulder as he waited by the window, a worried look on his face.
Tying her shoes, Kagome grabbed a jacket and rushed over to Inuyasha as the hall light came on. They climbed out of the window quickly and he grabbed his own backpack as they snuck out the gate, hand in hand. Once they were out, the two teenagers ran down the waking street, it was dark, but the sun was rising. It seemed like an eternity as they went through the maze like streets, smiles on their faces. They were going to be together once again and nobody could stop them.
Briefly stopping at a gas station, Inuyasha used the clerk’s phone and dialed one of his half brother's friends that would help the both of them get safely out of the country and headed back to Japan where Sesshomaru still lived with his wife and kids. Going out of the gas station doors, he sat down next to Kagome and put his arm around her shoulders, holding her close as he waited for their ride to come.
"Thank you for loving me Kags…” He whispered kissing her cheek.
"Thank you for letting me love the runaway." She replied snuggling close to his body, his warmth, and his love.
