Chapter 17-Broken Mirror

A/N-Okay there's a part in here with Kayoko having a "Back-up Identity". It's really weird, but bear with me, I was an amateur writer when I wrote this, actually it was probably like two months ago, or maybe three. Ne-Way, it doesn't matter b/c , well I don't know why, but Read & Review or I won't post Ne-more, even though u all know that's not true. C what u've reduced me 2, lying, gosh people don't u have Ne respect 4 the amateur writer posting their stories on the internet. I know, deep breaths…(deep breaths, exhaling and inhaling). OK, I'm cool…now READ! Sorry, sorry I know.

Kayoko's POV

`Heh, those mangy wolves probably don't even know I'm gone yet. What a bunch of losers, except Ayame. She seemed pretty nice, it's a shame that she's in love with Koga, and is following her heart to all the wrong places.'

I was about half way back to Kaede's village, when I smelled dog. `Inuyasha, how sweet. He's trying to rescue me from Koga's den, it's a shame that I don't need rescuing, from anyone.' I thought. I followed his scent all the way until I thought if was really close, so decided for him to come to me, while I just waited up in a tree. I knew of course that he wouldn't see me at first, but it would make for an interesting conversation about how his hearing's better than his eyes later.

So I jumped into the nearest tree and waited for his scent to get stronger. I was so concentrated on Inuyasha's smell, that I completely ignored the other one coming straight for me. I looked up from my spot in the tree, and saw a blue whirlwind of dust and speed. Immediately I knew that it could only be Koga, since I'd read his mind earlier and well, his first encounter with Inuyasha, well he appeared to them in a mini cyclone of speed. Koga had definitely picked up my scent by now, and I panicked a little, knowing that this was definitely not part of my plan, if I had one. So in the panic and surprise of my emotions, I changed into my "back up image". A mortal (or demonic) image that I've created for myself, that is actually another person, different eyes, hair, finger prints, even scent. But what was best of all about my "back up image" was that I still possessed all my powers as usual.

Thinking that I had outwitted the wolf, I stayed in my little tree waiting to see who'd reach me first. I hoped it was Koga so that I could quickly change into me before Inuyasha arrived and after I'd sent Koga away. Unfortunately, nothing seems to go according to my plans, at least lately.

Inuyasha POV

We'd been looking for Kayoko for an hour, because she obviously wasn't at the wolf den anymore, because I picked up her scent that was half an hour fresher going back to the village. So we all headed back, I think everyone's getting bored, even Kagome. But I can't let anything happen to Kayoko, so much hasn't been figured out between us. We're coming upon her scent I can smell her. I think that she can honestly help us defeat Naraku too, I can't let Koga have her. Because of what she can do for him, and what I feel for her.

Normal POV

Kayoko was just sitting there up in a tree, uncertain of what was going to happen, if Inuyasha saw her like this, and learned that this was how she'd eluded him so many times before than the past may be doomed to once again repeat itself. But she couldn't have Koga ruining her mission; she had to do this. No matter what the consequences of her actions, she had to tell Inuyasha why she'd left, and why they could never be together, even if that meant getting rid of anyone in her way…even if that meant getting rid of Koga, even if it was just for a few days at the very least.

The Inu Gang and Koga faced each other, just seconds after both losing Kayoko's scent, if just vanished. Inuyasha and Koga just carried puzzled looks on their faces as Kagome, Shippo, Miroku and Sango said "Koga?"

Koga-Where's Kayoko dog-turd?

Inuyasha-You should know…you kidnapped her.

Koga stepped back a little, realizing that Inuyasha was right, but that still didn't mean that he knew where she was.

Kayoko thought of a plan while the two talked and as Kagome, Shippo, Miroku and Sango tried to figure out what had happened. She had it. Kayoko jumped out of the tree, everyone turned to see her, and surprised that she was just sitting there the whole time, too angry or confused to even realize her presence or scent. Kayoko's eyes where now blue, her hair black and short with a flower ornament in it, wearing a black and red kimono, but still wearing her black diamond star necklace around her neck, an obvious clue to Inuyasha that he did not get. Kayoko was a different person with a different name, a different look and even a different smell just the same mind and personality.

Koga-Who are you wench?

Kayoko-Aviva. (I'll use Aviva's name in this form)

Inuyasha-What business do you have with any of us?

Aviva-I come from the Southern caves, bearing a message.

Koga-The Southern caves? That's where I grew up.

Everyone mentally gasps.

Aviva-Duh, but anyway, your parents have requested that you return to the Southern Caves they wish to speak to you about marriage proposals.

Everyone gasps out loud (except Aviva).

Koga- Wait, I don't remember an Aviva among my tribe as a young pup.

Aviva-I was abandoned when I was ten at the entrance to the caves, and by then you had already left. Your parents took me in, and allowed me to stay, under the condition that I become their messenger and that I take your hand in marriage Koga. I gradually accepted seeing as I had nowhere else to go or that would take me in.

Koga-My parents wouldn't take care of a mortal, let alone marry me off to one.

Kagome-What's that supposed to mean?

Aviva-Your parents may not let you marry a mortal, but I am no mere mortal.

Suddenly Aviva closed her eyes and as she did, a red wind swept over her and she changed into a demonic form like Kayoko, her beautiful black hair turned red and her pupils sharpened, her nails grew into claws and her eyes now pointed. When she reopened her eyes, they revealed to her the shocked faces of everyone around her.

Koga-You're…a red wolf demon?

Aviva-In the flesh.

Inuyasha-So leave already wolf boy; don't you have to get ready for the wedding? (Sarcastically)

Koga-Shut up mutt face.

Aviva-Well, I have to return to tell your parents, that you've accepted their proposal.

Koga-Wait I didn't exactly say that I accepted.

Aviva-Well, I didn't exactly say that your parents gave you or me a choice.

Inuyasha snickered at her remark for it was both true and an insult to Koga's intelligence in a way.

Aviva-Well I must be off, your parents await both of our returns so do not take long or you shall make them cross.

She walked slowly past Inuyasha, but as she did, she winked and her eyes momentarily turned to their normal emerald green as the sun reflected off of her necklace. Inuyasha mentally gasped at the thought that Aviva was Kayoko. To confirm this new theory, Aviva tilted her head, showing off some new brown highlights appearing in her hair. As Aviva walked away, Inuyasha picked up her scent as Koga ran back to his den, and then Inuyasha ran as fast as he could to catch up with Kayoko.

A/N-U know I like that name Aviva, and I like the name Liba, may-B I should add another character. Or may-B that could be the name of my character in my Yugi-Oh Fanfic, Yeah I think I'll start one soon, but I'll need at least ten chapters done b-4 I start posting it. And I'm gonna start one as an Inuyasha/Wolf's Rain Fanfic. Random Stories…Muahahaha! I'm tellin' u, it's the Air Head, a gr8 source of sugar. Groovy Colors…
