16: Surprise!. . . My Love is for Another
"This is the best day ever! Thanks Ayume!" Inuyasha hugged the girl happily.
"Hey, hands off Mutt!" Kouga called from his car.
"Hai, hai. Thanks to you too Kouga. It means a lot to me."
"Aww I'm blushing." the three laughed and Inuyasha walked Ayume to Kouga's car.
"I'll see you guys later. And really, thanks."
"No problem. I hope Kagome likes it." Even after a hard day of manual labor Ayume still bubbled with excitement.
"Me too. I'll talk to you later." Inuyasha backed away from the car, "See ya."
Inuyasha looked to his house. He had always lived with Sesshomaru and Shippo, this was his first house, and he designed it himself. "I hope Kagome likes it. . . now if only she will accept my official proposal we can move in. I hope the ring isn't too big. I know she hates huge gaudy things." he said out loud. "Let's see, we have a kitchen, two spare bedrooms, two baths, a living room, a little play area/office thing. Okay, our house is complete, and painted. . . we can decorate together girls like that stuff." Inuyasha continued talking to himself when his phone rang. He checked the number, trying to avoid lying more to Kagome, seeing that he didn't recognize the number he answered it.
"Hello Inuyasha speaking. . . Caryn?. . . I knew you were Kikyou, it wasn't that hard to tell!. . . No, I don't love you. . . Look, Kikyou at one point in my life I may have loved you, and now I don't love you, I love Kagome. I'm sorry." with that Inuyasha hung up the phone. He made a mental note to tell Kagome what happened the second he got a chance; tonight he had too much work to do on Kagome's other surprise to go see her.

"Sesshomaru!" Kagome buzzed the apartment and waited for someone to answer.
"Kagome?" it was Shippo.
"Shippo. I really need to talk to Sesshomaru, is he there?"
"No he went out on business. Can I help you?"
"I'm afraid not Shippo. Is Yash there?"
"Nope, he's still out with K-" he stopped talking.
"Out with who?"
"Out with Kouga." Shippo finished. He didn't want to tell her he was out with Kouga but he couldn't lie at that point.
"Oh, okay. See ya later." Kagome turned to leave the building.
"Fuck. . . " Inuyasha saw Kagome leaving the building. He had forgotten his check book and needed to make sure he had the figures right. He looked around for a place to hide, and since he couldn't find one he chanted the concealing spell (so that his ears and hair didn't make him stick out more) and grabbed a newspaper to hide behind.
"Inuyasha?" Kagome asked, having seen him frantically search for a distraction.
"Oh hey Kagome. Nice outfit. Got to go." he walked into the building and in to the elevator before Kagome could form any sort of sentence.
"Well, he has to come out some time." she sat on the bench and waited. And waited. . . and waited. . .

"You have to go out there some time." Shippo said. Inuyasha continued to look out the window, seeing Kagome sitting calmly on the bench.
"Hai, I know that. I really need to get some work done. Damn. . . maybe I can do it here. I certainly can't leave, she'll think I'm a psycho."
"We know you are Yash. Why are you avoiding her anyway?"
"I'm not telling you. You are the biggest blabber mouth ever!"
"Am not!"
"Are too!"

"Oh lovely, now I get to baby-sit." Sesshomaru walked in, Kagome shortly behind him. "I found the Miko sitting outside waiting. . . thought you might want to talk to her." Sesshomaru walked passed Shippo and Inuyasha and into the kitchen.
"Great!" Inuyasha jumped off the couch and ran to hug Kagome. "Hey babe!"
"Yuck. Hey Kagome. I'm going to my room. See you guys later." Shippo ran off in the same direction Sesshomaru had gone.
"Inuyasha. . . Caryn. . . eh, Kikyou, admitted who she was to me. She also. . ." Kagome didn't want to believe Kikyou, so she chose not to say what Kikyou had told her.
"She called me today. Thinks I'm in love with her. She's a psycho."
"I'm sorry to have bothered you Yash. I'll talk to you, some other time. You're obviously busy, other wise you wouldn't have avoided me outside. Right?" Kagome had already pushed the elevator button and was waiting for the door to close when she added. . . "Or you could just be cheating. . . like Kikyou said." the door closed and she was gone.

"You have one new message. . . Message one. . . 'Kagome, look, you are a nice girl I admit it. I was afraid of loosing Inuyasha to you, but I called him today. Look, I recorded this and you should hear it. 'Kikyou at one point in my life I loved you, and now I love you'. You see Kagome, he does love me. I'm sorry. . . July twenty first. . . end of message one. . . to delete press -"

"She's going to break up with me isn't she?" Inuyasha collapsed into a chair across from Sesshomaru in his office.
"The way you keep acting? Hai probably."
"Shut up!"
"You said it, not me."
"Doesn't she know I love her? I don't just mate with anyone ya know. I've waited five hundred years for this and none of it is going right. With the luck I'm having I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the house that Kouga and Ayume, and Eastland Construction, helped me build collapses tomorrow. Why can't I do anything right?"
"Maybe you should just go tell her. Show her now if you have to. I'd hate for you to be unhappy."
"Really?" Inuyasha seemed to lighten at his brother's support.
"No. Actually if you were unhappy I wouldn't care. I'm suppose to say supportive things."
"Shut up!" Inuyasha looked at the clock. "Damn it's late. I'll show her tomorrow." he yawned loudly before standing up. "Night Sess."
Sesshomaru waved his brother away and went back to work.

"Kagome?!" Inuyasha knocked louder and shouted her name. He had been knocking on the door for twenty minutes, at first he ruled it as she was asleep, but even Kagome would have woken up by now. "Kagome! You can't avoid me forever! Kagome! I'm sorry! I have something for you!" he waited hopefully, "Dang, I could have sworn that would work." he whispered. "Kagome! Please! Open! The! Door!"
Kagome opened the door but didn't say a word. She looked tired, and upset, she was in her pajamas and her hair was unkempt.
"Kagome, what did I do to make you this pissed off?" He knew the answer but it was the best he could come up with at the time. Kagome didn't answer him, she simply shut the door.
"Kagome!" a click followed by the sound of a lock swishing into place, indicated she had locked the door. "Kagome! I'll stand out here all day if I have to!"
~You haven't listened to his side. He was probably telling the truth, after all he told you Kikyou called. Maybe she was making it up.~

Kagome smiled to herself. Even if she was being naive at least she would be with Inuyasha. She turned around and she ran back to the door; she unbolted it and pulled it open, prepared to apologize her heart out. She was surprised to find the sight before her though.
Kikyou was kissing Inuyasha. Madly. The last time Kagome saw kissing like that was in a cheap porno her friends in college made her watch. Kagome closed the door and began walking away when a small nagging voice in the back of her mind spoke up.
~You don't know the whole situation. He could be trying not to gag right now. . . wait to see what happens.~
~* Oh, but I don't really want to know *~ Kagome walked to the small hole allowing her to see into the hallway and watched what happened.
Inuyasha pushed Kikyou away. "What the fuck do you think you are doing?" Kagome's bright smile returned.
"Inuyasha. . . you said you loved me."
"I said I DON'T love you! For the love of all that is fucking holy. Kikyou, do you see that door right there? Do you know what is on the other side? The love of my life. The only person that has ever meant anything in my existence. And right now she hates me, and it's killing me. So please, I don't want to deal with your shit! Just leave me alone."
"I tried to make this easy on us Inuyasha. You've just chosen the hard way." Kikyou kissed him on the cheek, and he flinched slightly. She walked passed him and out of sight.
Kagome smiled happily to herself. She yanked open the door and hugged Inuyasha. "I love you so much." she kissed him, "I'm so sorry. If I ever doubt you again smack me."
Inuyasha was shocked for a moment before his instincts took over, he kissed Kagome all over, picking her up and bringing her inside the apartment. He kicked the door closed and proceeded to the bedroom, where he lay Kagome down gently.
Kagome smiled up at him and quickly rose herself to kiss him again. She idly wondered how she could be with someone for so long and still have each kiss (no matter how small) seem like heaven. Inuyasha had to fight every urge in his body to not rip her clothes off and fuck her. He maintained slow, gentle kisses.
Kagome, moaned almost inaudibly at his touches, but she was not as strong as he was. She brought his lips to hers and began kissing him with joyous passion. She rolled over and straddled Inuyasha. He had always been one to be dominant, but not this time. Kagome removed his shirt hastily, kissing down his well sculpted gorgeous male body. She unbuttoned his pants and quickly removed them, along with his red sleek boxers. His arousal was evident and Kagome felt happier than a kid in a candy store. Inuyasha seemed to become harder, if that was possible, and the smile that had graced his face was spread into a look as though he were in heaven. Kagome crawled back on the bed, on top of Inuyasha. He could feel the heat from her woman hood against his stiff erection and he longed to thrust up into her. Kagome bent down and kissed him, snaking her tongue into his mouth. Their tongues danced, the same familiar dance they had shared countless times before. While Inuyasha was distracted Kagome impaled herself onto his stiff length. "Get dressed I'll show you."

"If you want to wear them in public rock on." he stood up and walked toward the door.
"Well hold on let me go change." Kagome ran toward her bedroom.
"Thought so." Inuyasha mumbled.
He waited in the living-room for Kagome, staring at the same pictures, books and knick-knacks he had seen many times all ready. After a few minutes Kagome came out of her bedroom. She was wearing a pair of tight Mudd Jeans with faded outlines on the back and a fairy shirt that slightly clung to her body, shaping her curves. Inuyasha smiled to himself as he looked over the most beautiful girl he had ever met in his unnaturally long life. Kagome noticed his smile and was about to comment when he spoke.
"Come on Hun." he put his hand on her back gently and guided her out the door.
Inuyasha opened the door of his silver Ferrari for Kagome to get in.
"Thank you." she smiled sweetly and descended into the car. Inuyasha walked around the front of the car and got into the drivers seat.
He turned on the car and drove out of the driveway. Kagome immediately began searching for a radio station worth listening too. Inuyasha allowed her to choose a station, mainly because he was trying to get on her good side this morning. She stopped on a Pop station and began singing to Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River". When the song was over she sang with the next song.
"What is wrong with you?" she asked, looking over at Inuyasha.
"Nani?"
"You let me pick the radio station and you aren't even complaining about it. Are you sick?" she jokingly placed her hand on his forehead and he mocked a laugh.
"Yes, dreadfully ill." he drolled.
"Thought so." Kagome looked back to the road. "Where are we going?"
"Patience young grasshopper." he continued to smile, not taking his eyes off the road, though he longed to look at Kagome's reaction when they arrived.
A few more Pop songs on the radio, and a few more turns in the road and they had arrived. As they were coming around the corner Inuyasha requested that Kagome close her eyes. She did as she was told and waited with excitement.
Inuyasha parked the car in the driveway and ran to the other side of the car to help Kagome out. She took his hand so she didn't trip on anything and waited for directions to see whatever it was that he wanted her to.
Inuyasha positioned her so that she could see the whole house and he stood in front of her, prepared to step aside on cue.
"Okay. Open your eyes." he stepped aside and allowed Kagome to view the sight before her.
Her eyes adjusted to the light and she saw a tall, majestic beige house sitting in front of the forest, a small lake barely visible beyond the trees in the distance. Kagome's mouth opened and she let out a small gasp of awe. Inuyasha smiled at the reaction and spoke the speech he had planned for five hundred years.
"Kagome . . ." he took her hands in his. "I love you, with all my heart. You are everything to me, and I wouldn't be able to live without you, or without the knowledge that I would soon be with you. You are my heart and soul, and every part of me wants to be with you for the rest of my life. You are my angel . . . my Goddess. My Kagome." he pulled a black box out of his coat pocket and kneeled down on one knee. Kagome felt tears in her eyes and she put her hand to her mouth to stop any sounds that might ruin the moment. "Kagome, I want to be with you, forever, and far longer." at this point he opened the small box to reveal a platinum ring. There was a dragon that surrounded the base of the ring and a clawed hand held a blue diamond. "Kagome, will you be my wife?" at the moment the world seemed to stop. The wind that had been tousling the couples hair ceased, the birds songs slowly died and the world seemed to holds its breath for Kagome's answer.
"Inuyasha . . . " Kagome smiled happily as tears flowed down her cheeks, "Yes." Inuyasha slipped the ring on Kagome's finger as he stood up. He bent down to kiss his love. She wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled through the kisses. Never had the pair been happier.
"Would you like to see your house?" he asked as they broke apart. Kagome smiled and nodded, not trusting her voice. Inuyasha kissed her again and carried her, bridal-style, into the house.
"I love you Kagome."

He had always been one to be dominant, but not this time. Kagome removed his shirt hastily, kissing down his well sculpted gorgeous male body. She unbuttoned his pants and quickly removed them, along with his red sleek boxers. His arousal was evident and Kagome felt happier than a kid in a candy store. She bent low over his erection and exhaled deeply, blowing mists of warm air around the hard length. Inuyasha bucked his hips at her teasing and moaned in frustration. Kagome continued the slow torture, even though she had intended to go a lot faster. Inuyasha's hands moved to her head, preparing to do anything he had to, in order to reach his climax. Kagome sat up and shook her head, a small seductive smile on her lips.
"Nu uh . . ." she whispered, grasping his hands in hers and pulling them above his head. She slowly released his hands and he kept them there, watching and waiting.
Kagome pulled her shirt above her head, she wasn't wearing a bra since she was still in her pajamas, and her round breasts teased Inuyasha's vision. She then crawled backwards off the bed, still smiling in the same seductive manner as before. She stood in front of the bed, her eyes never leaving Inuyasha's, and she began to remove her pants. Quickly the Hello Kitty sweats came off, soon followed by her pink lacy thong. Inuyasha seemed to become harder, if that was possible, and the smile that had graced his face was spread into a look as though he were in heaven. Kagome crawled back on the bed, on top of Inuyasha. He could feel the heat from her woman hood against his stiff erection and he longed to thrust up into her. Kagome bent down and kissed him, snaking her tongue into his mouth. Their tongues danced, the same familiar dance they had shared countless times before. While Inuyasha was distracted Kagome impaled herself onto his stiff length. His gasp and Kagome's moan, were both lost within each others mouth.
Inuyasha sank back onto the bed as Kagome pulled up. He thrust up to meet her again as she came back down. Continuing the motion Kagome sped up. Quick concise thrusts brought the pair closer. Inuyasha grabbed Kagome's hips, pulling her down onto his hard length, faster, and harder. Now, on the brink of ecstasy, the pair collided again and sent each other into a deep state of rapture. Kagome pulled back and lay next to Inuyasha. Inuyasha pulled up a sheet, it was too warm for a blanket. The pair lay entwined, Inuyasha kissed the top of Kagome's head and she closed her eyes, falling easily to sleep.

"How is it that 'make-up' sex is always the best?" Inuyasha asked as Kagome walked into the living room. She hadn't meant to fall asleep again but she did.
"I dunno." she giggled as she blushed and sat down beside Inuyasha.
He put his arm around her and kissed the top of her head. "I was going to wait until the right moment for this. . . but now seems good." he said mysteriously.
"For what?" she asked.
"Get dressed I'll show you."
"What is wrong with Pajamas?"
"If you want to wear them in public rock on." he stood up and walked toward the door.
"Well hold on let me go change." Kagome ran toward her bedroom.
"Thought so." Inuyasha mumbled.
He waited in the living-room for Kagome, staring at the same pictures, books and knick-knacks he had seen many times all ready. After a few minutes Kagome came out of her bedroom. She was wearing a pair of tight Mudd Jeans with faded outlines on the back and a fairy shirt that slightly clung to her body, shaping her curves. Inuyasha smiled to himself as he looked over the most beautiful girl he had ever met in his unnaturally long life. Kagome noticed his smile and was about to comment when he spoke.
"Come on Hun." he put his hand on her back gently and guided her out the door.
Inuyasha opened the door of his silver Ferrari for Kagome to get in.
"Thank you." she smiled sweetly and descended into the car. Inuyasha walked around the front of the car and got into the drivers seat.
He turned on the car and drove out of the driveway. Kagome immediately began searching for a radio station worth listening too. Inuyasha allowed her to choose a station, mainly because he was trying to get on her good side this morning. She stopped on a Pop station and began singing to Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River". When the song was over she sang with the next song.
"What is wrong with you?" she asked, looking over at Inuyasha.
"Nani?"
"You let me pick the radio station and you aren't even complaining about it. Are you sick?" she jokingly placed her hand on his forehead and he mocked a laugh.
"Yes, dreadfully ill." he drolled.
"Thought so." Kagome looked back to the road. "Where are we going?"
"Patience young grasshopper." he continued to smile, not taking his eyes off the road, though he longed to look at Kagome's reaction when they arrived.
A few more Pop songs on the radio, and a few more turns in the road and they had arrived. As they were coming around the corner Inuyasha requested that Kagome close her eyes. She did as she was told and waited with excitement.
Inuyasha parked the car in the driveway and ran to the other side of the car to help Kagome out. She took his hand so she didn't trip on anything and waited for directions to see whatever it was that he wanted her to.
Inuyasha positioned her so that she could see the whole house and he stood in front of her, prepared to step aside on cue.
"Okay. Open your eyes." he stepped aside and allowed Kagome to view the sight before her.
Her eyes adjusted to the light and she saw a tall, majestic beige house sitting in front of the forest, a small lake barely visible beyond the trees in the distance. Kagome's mouth opened and she let out a small gasp of awe. Inuyasha smiled at the reaction and spoke the speech he had planned for five hundred years.
"Kagome . . ." he took her hands in his. "I love you, with all my heart. You are everything to me, and I wouldn't be able to live without you, or without the knowledge that I would soon be with you. You are my heart and soul, and every part of me wants to be with you for the rest of my life. You are my angel . . . my Goddess. My Kagome." he pulled a black box out of his coat pocket and kneeled down on one knee. Kagome felt tears in her eyes and she put her hand to her mouth to stop any sounds that might ruin the moment. "Kagome, I want to be with you, forever, and far longer." at this point he opened the small box to reveal a platinum ring. There was a dragon that surrounded the base of the ring and a clawed hand held a blue diamond. "Kagome, will you be my wife?" at the moment the world seemed to stop. The wind that had been tousling the couples hair ceased, the birds songs slowly died and the world seemed to holds its breath for Kagome's answer.
"Inuyasha . . . " Kagome smiled happily as tears flowed down her cheeks, "Yes." Inuyasha slipped the ring on Kagome's finger as he stood up. He bent down to kiss his love. She wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled through the kisses. Never had the pair been happier.
"Would you like to see your house?" he asked as they broke apart. Kagome smiled and nodded, not trusting her voice. Inuyasha kissed her again and carried her, bridal-style, into the house.
"I love you Kagome."
