Chapter 13

Mischief in the making

In the Past....

Shippo ran off as he left Miroku unconscious after having him whack himself in the head. At this time he remembered a story about love amongst a perfectly matched pair, but to do it he needs help. Searching for the transportation first, he runs into the village looking for a certain two tailed feline.

"KILALA WHERE ARE YOU?"

Running around to all the houses, for the fire cat is known to roam and explore, when not with them, he eventually finds her curled up next to Kaede.

"There you are!" He replies as he spies the fire cat. Stirring at the sound of the Kitsune's voice, Kilala looks at him warily. Knowing by the look he has something planned she begins to pity those involved as well as the targets.

"Kilala...do you remember that story Kagome told us the other day about the Prince and Princess from far away lands?"

Looking thoughtful for a second, Kilala nods her head in remembrance, and mews a questioning sound of why.

"Why do you ask child?" Kaede answers as well for which Shippo is about to say never mind, when he realizes that he will need more than just Kilala to help him. Turning to the old woman and cat together, he begins to tell her the same story that Kagome told them, but in short form.

"You see Kagome told me this story about a two people from different countries. Each one wasn't satisfied with those in their own kingdom and kept turning them away constantly."

"Go on?" Kaede replies.

"Anyway what happened is the gods of this land decided to play a game of which one was more beautiful and which was not...so in secret as each one slept they put the two in a secret hidden place, there they woke up and hated each other at first, but eventually they fell in love....all this time though, the goods over the nights they were doing this still could not decide and quit doing the game."

Kaede begins to smile as she has inkling on what the Kitsune has planned. The fox demons are known for their pranks, but this one might actually provide not only entertainment, but for the monk and demon slayer to get to know one another. Turning to the young child as he continues on, she listens.

"Well when they stopped bringing them together, the prince and the princess couldn't help but long for one another in such a way, that they went out to look for one another and wouldn't rest until they found that person no matter what happened. Eventually they succeeded..."

"Hmmmm and this gave you an idea about the monk and Sango?" Kaede smiles gently as Kilala has an inkling on her role and she mews in anticipation.

"Well I was wondering...not that Inuyasha has admitted his feelings for Kagome...if we do something like in the story to Miroku and Sango....?"

"It might just work child...it might just work..." Kaede looks thoughtful, her eyes lit up with ideas. "I even know the perfect spot to leave them in the forest..."

"So you agree with the idea?"

Kaede nods her head. "You will have to tell me the whole story later, but for now child what is it called?"

"The Gods and Demon's game..."

Smirking a little bit, as she bends down and describes some herbs to both Kilala and Shippo to fetch from the forest, they decide to put their version into action.

The next day and a lot of work later....

"Greetings Kaede, I thank you once again for your hospitality." Miroku replies as he helps himself to some soup that the elder woman had made.

"You are most welcome Miroku." The elder woman smiles warmly as she, Shippo and Kilala watch as he begins to eat. In the meantime, they observe as Sango comes walking in tired and a little exhausted.

"Are you all right Sango?" Shippo asks with concern.

"I am fine Shippo I just had to go and destroy some things." She growls out glaring at Miroku who gulps visibly under that threat. But yet as she bends down and Kaede offers her a bowl, he can't help but gaze how the light from the fire, gives her cheeks a rosy flush, and her hair high lights of rich mahogany.

Continuing to eat, as he watches Sango do the same, he starts to yawn. "I must be tired...." Yawning again, feeling it grow stronger, he starts to lose the bowl as he passes out.

Out of the corner of her eye, Sango looks on in concern as she observes Miroku's descent into the darkness. Crawling over to him, she begins to notice a funny aftertaste in her mouth and begins to put two and two together....looking at the three who smile at her in conspiracy, she groans.

"When I wake up....I swear I willlll" She tries to talks as she to passes out.

"That was some strong stuff Kaede!" Shippo exclaims as the elderly woman calls for two of the villagers to come and help as Kilala grows to her regular size. The villagers smile and pick up both the slayer and the monk, placing each one on top of the fire cat, who seems to be almost smiling.

Climbing on back along with Shippo, Kaede braces the two of them and along with some supplies and their weapons, she guides the fire demon to a remote area, where with a little bit of struggling on their part, they ease the two down, and in a small pile next to them, they leave some food, water and their weapons. Then, once again getting back on Kilala, the three are returning to the village as they leave a sleeping monk and demon slayer in a protected grotto, to awaken on their own.

They hope by that the time, those two come back to the village, anger or not...they will be together and in love.

Present time....

Kagome, stirs as she wakes up, and wonders all of a sudden at the weight on top of her. Looking down, she smiles gently as she sees a silver haired hanyou, his head upon her breasts as his arms seem to wrap around her as if to never let her go.

"Inuyasha...." She whispers softly. Watching as an ear twitches, and eh murmurs something. She whispers his name again....

"Inuyasha, I need to get up..."

"Don't want you to get up..." He murmurs...."Warm....your heartbeat soothes me..."

Awed by his simple words as he snuggles into her a little deeper in sleep, she sighs and allows him with a warm look of love. Noticing the blanket though that has covered the two of them on the couch, she turns around and spies a note from her mother. Barely managing to reach it, she fingers it between her middle and forefinger with luck....

Kagome,

When I cam down and noticed the two of you like that, I didn't have the heart to wake you. Both of you looked so peaceful. I grabbed a blanket and tried to provide enough comfort for the two of you as you slept.

By the time you wake up, you will be wondering where we, your grandfather, brother and I have gone. We knew that you would more than likely be going back with Inuyasha, so we had plans to visit one of the neighboring shrines a bit, to aid them in some festivities they were having.

There is some more ramen and other groceries in the pantry. If you decide to stay a little longer, there is also some money stashed away. You know where....till then, behave and Kagome...be safe....

Mom....

"Thanks Mom," She murmurs softly. "I promise I shall try to be careful...but he makes it so tempting not to be...."

Watching as he twitches a little bi, in sleep, she can't help but bend down and place a kiss upon his silvery hair.

"Kagome...my Kagome..." He moans in his sleep eliciting a warm and gentle smile.

"That's right Inuyasha...yours...always yours...."

Yep a little bit more Miroku and Sango, but I know most of you if I didn't put in an Inuyasha and Kagome moment...well you would have hurt me and I like my neck where it is...Attached.....
