You want longer chapters folks? Grumbles a little bit...I shall try but around 6-8 pages is usually when my hands start to get tired and according to my word perfect that is usually what I stop at....but I shall try. Anyway just got off work and had some Taco Bell...was hungry.....so now I am a little refreshed and raring to go!

Chapter 14

Snipers and allies

Kagome after falling back asleep the first time, stirs once more and as she opens her dark eyes, she finds herself gazing into a pair of amber ones.

"Hi..." She says softly as her hand comes to his cheek. Watching as he leans into her touch with an almost needy gesture, she is about to suggest something else when the doorbell rings.

"Ignore it," He whispers against her neck as his hands move slowly up her side. Trying to resist a giggle, as he lightly tickles her, the ringing comes again followed by insistent knocking.

"KAGOME! INUYASHA!"

Groaning as they recognize the voices of her friends and their boyfriends, the couple sigh and looks at one another, with resignation. Slowly getting up, but not before he nips her neck, with his teeth; she playfully shoves him towards the bath.

"HOLD ON A MINUTE!" She cries and then turning to Inuyasha as she pushes him toward the bathroom. "You remember how this works right?"

"Yes...." He smiles mischievously as he pulls her in with him. Closing the bathroom door, before she can say no, Inuyasha looks at her with a quiet yet playful hunger.

"Inuyasha I have to go and get the door..."

"Let them wait...." He replies as he starts pulling off his haori and undershirt among other things. "I need someone to wash my back...."

Her eyebrows raised a little; she leans forward to start the water, and as his hand runs down her back, she curves into his touch. About ready to discard his pants as she watches, the ringing starts again, but this time is paired with incessant knocking.

"COME ON KAGOME!"

"I have to go Inuyasha...." She mumbles a little annoyed at her friends. Grumbling and muttering about death threats she pulls open the door and prepares to stomp down the hall way in a fit. Watching her reaction, Inuyasha smiles and decides to do something for his Kagome.

"Hey Kagome...!"

"Yes Inu...." Her eyes widen in pure and simple delight as she watches him discard the rest of his clothes from behind. His musculature is evident as hard firm backside, strong legs and tight ass are in plain view. She watches as he starts to turn around...but then only getting a slight profile and a hint of his endowment, she can't help but lick her lips in desire.

"KAGOME WILL YOU LET US IN DAMMIT!"

Growling loud herself, causing Inuyasha to whirl around, he watches and smiles at her face. She looks him up and down at his naked body....

"Remind me to kill them later......" She asks him and he starts laughing as she takes off.

He listens and hears her cursing loudly at the time she is being deprived of with him. Shaking his head to resist the laughter in his heart, he lies in the water to allow the heat to soothe his body.

In the meantime, Kagome comes down the stairs, looking extremely annoyed and frustrated as she yanks the front door open.

"WHAT!" She snaps as she glares at her friends standing there. The six young men and women gulp, as two of them struggle against her miko power flaring up.

"Boy Yuka....she is really mad...we must have interrupted something good...." Tsukasa chirps in earning him a smack upside the head from his girlfriend Ayume. The teens back up some as Kagome's power once again flares. "WHAT IS IT?"

About to say something, they breathe a sigh of relief, as they watch a handsome silvery haired individual step out of the bathroom, unaware of the red light appearing on his chest through a neighboring window.

Knowing that the time has come to reveal themselves to her dear friend and aunt....Yuka screams. "INUYASHA DUCK!"

"Huh?" The hanyou replies as he finishes sliding on a borrowed robe. That's when he notices, the light and hears the faint sound of something heading toward him. Moving away with his reflexes, he escapes, whatever it was aimed for his heart.

"WHAT THE @%#%&@$"

"SIT!" Kagome screams as she observes another light upon his form. This time as he goes down thanks to her spell, he misses another shot at himself. Trying her hardest to get to him, Kagome scrambles from the front of her house, and lays her body on top of his.

"GET OFF ME KAGOME!"

"NO INUYASHA!" She shouts back. "You have protected me for so long....now it's my turn to protect you, from who ever is out there!"

"DAMMIT WENCH I CAN TAKE CARE OF MYSELF!"

"FROM WHAT! INUYASHA YOU WANT TO KNOW ONE OF THE REASONS I WASN'T AS SCARED WHEN I FIRST ARRIVED." She screams as another shot blast overhead, showers them with pieces of glass from the mirror. "Here in my time there are far worse things then demons....sometimes humans kill just as carelessly and purposefully as them"

Listening to her words, he growls in frustration wanting to get up and out there to track whoever is after them. But that's when he notices something strange. Two of Kagome's friends seem to be sniffing the air as if sifting through it for something. Taking a sniff of his own for the first time, he nearly gags on the various scents through his angel's time, that's when he smells something extremely familiar.

Wanting to make sure first before he does anything he watches as three of her friends watch over as the other one starts to crawl towards them.

"INUYASHA, KAGOME GIVE ME YOUR HAND!"

Whirling around, Kagome looks into Akira's eyes and senses the priestly power around him. Her eyes widen a little bit in curiosity, for as she studies his features...he almost looks like....

"Miroku? You look like Miroku...." She whispers as once again she covers Inuyasha as best she can with her body.

"Explain later....but right now Kagome, we need to get Inuyasha out of sight..."

Growling as he hears his name called. Inuyasha glares at the young man, with his eyes flashing from gold to red. Akira pales at the sight momentarily before pleading at what is left of Inuyasha's mind before he does something they will all regret....

"Inuyasha listen to me...we can explain everything later...right now someone is trying to kill you, because of Kagome. Like Naraku did long ago with you and Kikyo..." He whispers. "He is angry because you have her and he doesn't..."

Looking at him, he growls. "Who is this he....?"

"Stay there under Kagome's body...crawl towards me though if you can. We need to get you out of the line of fire..."

His eyes flashing again, his demonic power flares but yet his concern for Kagome's safety is paramount. If someone is willing to kill him just to get to her....it is enough for him to move to protect what is his as she protects him. Eventually getting out of sight for now, Kagome sighs in relief as she starts to get up. But they watch as Akira shakes his head.

"Wait, I have to partially chant a spell, to mask our heat for right now...." Holding his hand, as if in prayer, they watch as a small barrier forms around them. Almost cold to the touch, they shiver a little bit as the temperature seems to have dropped considerably.

"Now get up!" Akira whispers.

Moving slowly, Kagome leans up and off of Inuyasha who scrambles up growling and mad. Trying to go through the barrier to go after who hunts for him, he is thrown back as he hits it head on. Whirling in anger, he grabs, Akira by the neck and starts to lift up.

"LET ME OUT!"

"Can't do that...not until Yuka and Jinto give the signal that it is safe..."

Kagome gasps curiously, at his comment. Standing up softly and putting her hand on top of his arm, she smiles gently and with love.

"Inuyasha please...let's listen to him..."

His flashing eyes swing to her at the sound of her voice and he sees the genuine warmth and concern in her eyes. Nodding his head slowly, he does what she asks, although reluctantly, and sits back down. As Kagome prepares to sit next to him, he pulls her down roughly so that she sits on top of him.

"Now...Explain..." He commands and Akira jumps in surprise as the hanyous demon light seems to shine brightly at his order. Both sides of this man seem to be in agreement as if they were one....

"It might be best that we wait for Yuka and Jinto...just in case you may have some questions for them..."

Wanting to argue, but finding that he can not as Kagome sends him a glare that makes him nervous. He then listens as she herself turns to Akira with a question.

"Akira...by any chance...."

"Am I related to the Miroku you know? The answer is yes...." The young man smiles and he watches as the two in front of him seem to light up, especially the hanyou.

"Let us see your hands..." Inuyasha replies. His tone is betraying his disbelief a bit.

"To search for the wind tunnel...you will find I don't have one...but oddly I have a round birthmark in the middle of my hand where it should be." He says as he holds both hands out. Looking down upon it, both guys watch as Kagome takes his hand within her own delicately and lightly touches the birthmark with her finger....

"I can feel it..." She whispers.

"You can?" Inuyasha looks startled. So he is indeed Miroku's descendant?"

"Yes..."

"Feel what?" Akira replies confused as he now looks at the birthmark upon his hand with curiosity.

"The wind tunnel...its power is still there...." Kagome replies softly. "We must set you up with prayer beads and everything as soon as the others return..."

"Why...?" Akira asks. The news that she is telling him unnerves him. "Why...I mean its not activated or anything..."

"For now it isn't...." Kagome says. She is about to say more, when the door opens wide and the others stride in.

"You can release the barrier now..." Yuka smiles cheerfully. Her, Jinto and the others walk in and plop onto the ground around the other three. Satisfied by this, Inuyasha looks at each every one, as does Kagome, but their eyes pause on both Jinto and Yuka with a surprise and not to mention a little anger.

"YOU!" Inuyasha points at her angry. "How come I smell HIM!"

Yuka, knows that now is the time, but is reluctant to do it, so she looks to the others for help, because she knows it is about to send Inuyasha into a rage.

"Because he is my father.....?"

"YOUR FATHER!" Inuyasha yells. About to say something else, the others observe as Kagome whispers something in his ear, and he settles down. But not without shooting a murderous look at Yuka.

Gulping silently as she watches the exchange between the two, she is happy that Kagome is her friend and not her enemy.

"Now please explain Yuka..."Kagome smiles softly and with warmth. "Inuyasha is convinced for now. If what you say is true and judging by his reaction, I know who it is...then why are you here?"

"Because he asked me...actually he ordered me to..." Yuka replies and nodding to Jinto they drop their façade as to who they are. They year the growls of rage and warning coming from the hanyou and yet they can't help smiling as Kagome shoots a look at the hanyou.

"Don't make me say it Inuyasha...."

Remaining quiet, but his gold eyes and stance giving off the vibes of back off, the three guys look a little hurt as the women chuckle nervously.

"I thought we were friends?" Jinto replies with a happy go lucky grin and possessive gleam almost as he eyes Eri. That same gleam is looking familiar, for as they stare at the red and black streaked hair along with deep blue eyes and pointed ears. They see a friend from the past....

"Let me guess...Kouga?" Kagome replies.

"That's Dad..." Jinto answers with a wolfish grin. Inuyasha is about to say something but is relived as Eri takes matter into her own hands and smacks him on the arm hard.

Inuyasha can't help but laugh as the wolf demon winces in obvious pain.

"Will you cut it out Eri...!"

"Then quit flirting with every girl you meet...YOU...YOU WOLF!"

Jinto chuckles as he takes the young woman into his arms and plants one deep upon her lips. The others just groan as she struggles halfheartedly and then eventually her arms find themselves winding around his neck.

"Why do they remind me of Miroku and Sango...just less violent?" Kagome quips and the others laugh even more. The tension slowly starting to relax out of the hanyou, he allows for them to slowly be on their guard.

"Are you ready to listen now Inuyasha?" Kagome asks with a questioning gaze. He nods his head in response allowing her to turn to Yuka, with her own.

"Yuka?"

"Yes Kagome?

"I will ask about the whole demon thing later...but what brings you here?"

"These..." She replies and pulling some things out she starts to give it to them, but hesitates as she finally notices their state of undress.

"Um first thing's first...."

"What?"

"Could you to get dressed first?" She replies. "A robe and pajamas...not good for their health" She gestures to both Tsukasa and Jinto who are staring at Kagome's body with glee.

"Huh...?" The two of them reply and then looking down in unison, Kagome shoots for her room like a shot with Inuyasha close behind.

Laughing amongst themselves, the others smile and look upon one another.

"Are you sure about this Yuka, Jinto...?" Eri asks. "I mean to reveal ourselves to them after so long?"

"According to the scrolls it is time. Inuyasha is going to need us now more than ever. Here in this time he is odd, as we would be back then in his. We know what to fight and what to use, the Tetsaiga will still be good now. But there are other weapons far more dangerous..." Yuka replies with conviction.

Watching as the two approach a few minutes later, Inuyasha is in his usual haori and Kagome is wearing a pair of jeans and a white halter top, which hugs her figure. On her feet is a pair of simple and plain sandals. The boys can't help but admire and give off a wolf whistle, earning a look of annoyance from their girlfriends.

"Come on Yuka....I love you remember...." Akira jokes, trying to save his neck as her grayish silver hair, seems to crackle with energy. Her amber eyes reflecting her emotions and Inu observing this, purposefully backs up.

"Inuyasha?" Kagome asks. His response is only to point and she observes as the others are backing as well.

They all watch a little chagrined, as Yuka pounces on her boyfriend. The little growls and hisses she is giving off as they wrestle one another is evident.

"She is definitely related to you Inuyasha...." Kagome says with a smile earning a look of her own from him.

"WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN!"

Shaking her head, as he advances towards her, Kagome turns and looks at her beloved hanyou with a sweet and yet deadly tone....

"Inuyasha....SIT!"

The small group of friends watches and winces as he goes crashing to the floor. Letting out a torrent of curses one right after the other, he growls menacingly as he starts to get up.

"See now aren't you glad that isn't you, Yuka?" The others reply for when she and Akira had heard that command, they both had stopped and watched its results.

Gulping soundly she nods her head in response only to have Eri look thoughtful. "Kagome....?"

"Hmmmm? "

"Where can I get a set of those?"

Jinto looks nervous now as he stares at his girlfriend.

"You wouldn't do that to me...."

"Try me...." She threatens. "It seems to get him to stay put long enough to listen it might do the same for YOU!"

Gulping now at his angry girlfriend, the others look a little sheepish including Inuyasha. "Is that why?" The hanyou asks as he watches the wolf demon plead with the young woman for some measure of safety.

"Mostly...."

"Mostly?" Inuyasha replies. About ready to continue on, the others realize that they have gotten sidetracked from their intentions.

"HEY ARGUE LATER!" Yuka yells as Akira snakes his arms around her. "You guys do want to know why we are here."

Remembering that, the others nod their head and promptly sit down, Inuyasha's back to the wall with Kagome right in front of him.

"So explain how did you know to be here...." Kagome asks with a look of curiosity.

"That we can't tell you...All we can do is just help you guys here in protecting the shards of the Shikon Jewel...."

"What do you mean?" Inuyasha yells. "I do it just fine."

"Yeah in the past....." Jinto replies a little sourly as he is still touchy about Eri wanting a set of prayer beads. "But here in this time it is different. You felt the results not to long ago...."

"Didn't you guys ever wonder since the incident with the Noh mask...why you never get attacked by demons....?" Yuka interrupts as she glares at the wolf demon.

About ready to retort, Inuyasha is halted as Kagome speaks. "Then those were demons I have been sensing for quite some time, coming for me. But they disappeared so fast I always thought I was just tired or something."

"Yep that was us!" Ayume exclaims proudly.

"It was?" The two look amazed at the small group of friends. Kagome just has this look of surprise, whereas Inuyasha's view of them seems to have improved considerably.

"Yes...."

Leaning forward to explain everything the small group continues to talk and explain their roles in the present, that ahs allowed Kagome and sometimes Inuyasha to be safe in the present.....

Elsewhere...

Someone begins to relax as he runs back to his home. Throwing the rifle down upon his couch in rage, he passes by a series of trophies, on his way into the kitchen. All of them on marksmanship, or targeting practice, and all of which are stating first place in their divisions.

Heading towards the kitchen, he pauses as he hears the faint signs of someone waking up. Running back to hide his rifle, he then returns to what he was doing, for at the sound of footsteps, he prepares to smile and greet the day....

"Greetings Mother..."

"Good morning Hojo...."

He has Yuka, Eri, Ayume, Tsukasa, Jinto and Akira in the present....
