Chapter 16

Return to the past that binds us...

Kagome and Inuyasha looked at one another as Yuka went into a state of denial. Sighing a little bit, they look thoughtful as an idea comes to mind.

"Inuyasha...you think?"

"Maybe it might work...but will it go against whatever is in their scrolls?"

"True, but theoretically she is your niece...it might work for her but not the others." Kagome replied. "Besides I have to go and see Miroku and/or Kaede about a glove and prayer beads for Akira. We know he is going to need one and I have no idea on where to begin."

Watching the couple as they seem to be discussing something, the others look confused. But as bits and pieces drift over to them, Ayume makes a realization.

"You are thinking of taking Yuka through the well?!"

Kagome and Inuyasha both nod their heads. "We figure if maybe she can talk to either Miroku or Kaede about the actual curse itself....and how long Miroku's father and so forth lived...."

"Miroku's father?" Akira asks slowly. "Wasn't the curse just on Miroku?"

"No..." Inuyasha replies. "It was a generational curse. It started with Miroku's grandfather who tried to take on Naraku...."

"But...."

"But what happened is that in trying to place a sutra, Naraku caused it to rebound and pierce through his hand. Hence the curse of the wind tunnel, but while lying there in pain, Naraku told him this..."

The curse I have given you will continue to your son and so on...unless you can destroy me you will be sucked in....

The others listen and feel something akin to pity for Yuka and Akira. Both have problems with her father and gaining his approval for their relationship. Now, the fact that Naraku is somewhere in the world trying to destroy them....well they can't help but feel a little pity for them.

"Yuka?' Eri approaches tentatively and with worry for her friend. The young woman has always been the one that they could talk to. She never judged or said anything to make you feel weak or stupid. She just sat and listened.

"I have to go..."

"Huh?" Came a set of voices unanimously, as Yuka rushes both Inuyasha and Kagome with a quiet plea in her eyes, she asks them with a burning fever.

"Please do you think I can talk to them?"

"I don't see why not..." Inuyasha replies as he places a hand on her shoulder gently. "It is the well that we have to deal with after all. If Naraku is here in this time....then it might let you through...."

"We just might have to keep you away from your father in that era...." Kagome chirps in as she finishes serving up dinner. Handing Inuyasha his usual bowl of Ramen, he happily starts munching without a thought.

"Why...." Jinto pipes in. His curiosity is evident as he helps himself to some steak that Eri was insisting that he have.

"Because in my time, Sesshomaru will probably try and kill her..." Inuyasha replies with his mouth full, thus earning him a smack from Kagome.

"Why would Dad want to kill me? Wouldn't he be able to tell we are related?" Yuka asks.

"True, but even then, he tries to kill me all the time...." Inuyasha states as the others look at him disbelievingly. "Besides he doesn't know you exist yet....or at least I don't think he does...."

"You're kidding..."

"Yeah right!"

"Her dad wouldn't do such a thing...."

"Doesn't know yet?"

Kagome looks sheepish a little bit as Inuyasha's eyes narrow dangerously. Feeding him another bowl of Ramen just to keep him happy, she looks at the others with a little chagrin.

"Actually he's telling the truth. Sesshomaru has tried to kill us....specifically Inuyasha, but mostly for the Tetsaiga. He hasn't done it for a while since the whole thing with Naraku had started up. But ever since we defeated Naraku...we haven't seen him. Last time we heard he was to busy tracking him down along with Kagura to finish him off."

Yuka wisely says nothing of who her mother is and lets it be. Somehow to find that your former enemy is now your sister-in-law....well that's a whole other story. But hearing the fact that some of what they are saying explains her parents' disappearances from time to time.....

"I understand...I still don't believe you about Daddy, but I wish to go...for Akira's sake."

"Feh!" Inuyasha replies in such a tone and Yuka raises an eyebrow. "You may be my uncle, but I can still take you..."

Hearing this challenge from the young woman, Inuyasha smiles, his fangs are gleaming against his lips, he is about to respond to the comment, when both Kagome and Akira cough loudly.

"Inuyasha cool it...you know Yuka doesn't have the experience you do...."

"Who says!" Yuka exclaims. Five hands rise up and Yuka glares at each every one.

"Face it Yuka...it's your dad..." Eri states simply as she starts to munch on some vegetables.

Jinto and Tsukasa nod in agreement. Their mouths full as they are to busy shoving food in their mouth. Ayume, losing her appetite watching them, pushes her plate to the side for a bit, and nods as Tsukasa eyes it hungrily.

"Go ahead..." She sighs and he snatches it from her. Turning her attention to Yuka as does Akira, she puts it out plainly.

"Face it Yuka, your dad is way overprotective of you and even of your sister Kanna despite the fact she is mated. That and him owning at least half the city....tends to put a damper on things...."

Frowning as she knows deep down they are right, Akira continues on. "Besides Yuka, remember it took your mother to make him send you out with us to protect Kagome. I clearly state that you heard them arguing about it for quite some time. Most of what we have accomplished has been by luck so far."

Looking rather chagrined, Yuka reluctantly turns a becoming shade of red. Inuyasha though having listened can't help but feel a little sorry for her. "Yuka?"

"Hmmm?"

"Starting tomorrow I will teach you what I know..."

"Really?"

Inuyasha nods his head and continues eating his second bowl of ramen. "Besides, who better to help you then the one who has beaten him twice..."

Kagome gives a little snort at that. "With our help...."

"I didn't need any help!"

"Oh please Inuyasha. Miroku, Sango and even Shippo a couple of times have saved you from your brother."

The small group continuing eating as they end with a dinner show of their host and hostess fighting. Shaking from laughter as both Jinto and Tsukasa place their bets, they watch as Kagome tries to keep her cool, despite Inuyasha's tirade.

"THAT'S IT SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT!"

The others watch amused as the hanyou goes crashing to the floor with a loud thud. Hearing him curse, the others finish eating as they wait for the spell to wear off. As it starts to disappear, they can say Inuyasha twitching and soon he is back up.

"Wench!"

"SIT!"

"#R%#%@$@"

Watching as he goes crashing again, the others girls giggle at the sight. "Kagome, I really, REALLY want a set of beads..."

"Don't let her have them!" Jinto pleads as the girls start cleaning up. The conversations going on between the small group as they clean up, eventually, Ayume, Eri, Jinto, and Tsukasa leave to make the rounds for demons, as Akira says his goodbyes for now.

"You be careful Yuka..."

"I will"

Placing a kiss on her lips and playfully giving her a little bite upon them, Akira smiles and joins the others as they search for those who would harm them. Watching as he goes off into the distance, Yuka is pulled all of a sudden as they head towards the well.

"What the...oohhh is it that time already...?" She grins cheekily.

"Yes...we have to get there before it gets too late or Kaede will have gone to bed...."

"Oh..."

As they approach the well house, Yuka feels a strange tingle overwhelm her.

"Can you feel that?"

"Feel what?"

"That tingling sensation..."

"You mean that ticklish feeling as you come towards here?" Kagome asks curiously.

"Yes..."

"That's just the well's magic you are feeling nothing to worry about..."

Reassured by the miko, they open the doors to the well house and approach it. Kagome and Inuyasha both do so with ease, yet Yuka is a little nervous.

"Don't worry nothing is going to happen as long as Inuyasha and I are here with you..." Kagome smiles, "Inuyasha will go on ahead, and then we will go."

Watching as said hanyou jumps into the well, she closes her eyes expecting to hear a crash, but is surprised as she nears nothing but silence. Opening them slowly, she notices Kagome sitting on the edge and swinging her legs over the side.

"You coming?"

A little ashamed of her nervousness, she approaches Kagome and sitting down she swings her legs over the well, taking her friends hand to ensure that this is happening, she nods her head.

"On the count of three....one"

"Two..."

"THREE!" They both say in unison as they push off. Yuka watches the rapidly approaching ground and is about to leap away, when the ground disappears and they are surrounded by a dazzling blue light."

Traveling as if in midair is a new experience for the young demoness and she tries to let go, only to have Kagome shake her head.

"Wouldn't want you to be lost in time..."

Gulping at the sounds of that, she holds on a little bit tighter and soon they find themselves back in the well, landing softly upon the ground. Inuyasha is simply staring at them with an amused smile.

As he stands up, he turns around and Kagome willingly hops up on his back.

"Kagome?"

"Easier for me to get out of the well...." She quips and Inuyasha just smirks as he comments something else....which earns him a smack from both women.

"PERVERT!"

"You have been hanging out with Miroku for far too long...."

Inuyasha simply shrugs off their hits and takes a leap with Yuka right behind him. Not really ready to let go of Kagome as she tries to slide off his back, he looks at Yuka with a question.

"Can you keep up?"

"Of course I can..."

"Follow me!"

He takes off running and leaping from tree to tree. At first Yuka has a hard time following him as he does so, but as she adjusts to the time, she sees the flashes of red from his clothes as well as the scent of them leaving a trail for her to follow. Continuously running, she nears runs smack into them when they stop.

"OOMPH!"

"Watch where you are going!" Inuyasha yells as he lands at the bottom of a pile. Kagome and Yuka are both on top of him.

"Well if you had warned me that you were going to stop all of a sudden I wouldn't have!" Yuka screams right back at him. Getting up in a huff, she lends a hand to Kagome who takes it, and watches as her kin sits up with a slightly cross look.

Kagome feeling a little sorry for her hanyou offers him one of her own.

"Come on you poor baby...let's take Yuka to see Kaede and Miroku.... While they are talking maybe we could..." She leans forward to whisper something in his ears. Wondering what is being said, Yuka turns bright red, as Inuyasha takes on this expression of anticipation.

Standing up and then looking towards the village like an eager puppy, Yuka turns to Kagome.

"What did you say to him?"

Repeating in Yuka's ear, which is just a confirmation, she watches as Inuyasha is already halfway there before he turns around and looks at them impatiently.

"HEY WENCH! ARE YOU COMING ARE WHAT I CAN'T WAIT TO TALK TO THEM!"

Kagome twitches a little and then shakes her head. "I can give him that one...."

Yuka giggles as she observes her friends smile of joy as she watches the silver haired individual approach what seems to be an older woman in red and white.

The two continue to walk towards them and soon this little ball of fur comes hurtling at an intense speed towards them.

"KAGOME!"

"Hi Shippo!"

Yuka looks in awe at the little fox Kitsune, whom she knows later on in his life as a full grown demon. Here he is still a child...a very cute and adorable child....

"I wonder...I really do..." She whispers as Shippo takes off from Kagome's arms to go and pounce on Inuyasha much to the hanyou's annoyance.

"Wonder what..."

"Here Shippo is so cute...but when I know him...he...he...he"

"He is what?"

"Such a pain in the ASS!" She exclaims really loud. Kagome can't help but giggle as it seems that the way Yuka said, it is much like a sister would say of her brother.

"How is he?"

"Much as he is now, a prankster at times and loving to drive his dad up the wall."

"His dad?"

Yuka slaps her hand over her mouth. "Said too much!"

"Yuka...."

"Let's go catch up to the others..."

"YUKA!"

Kagome watches and wonders. "Shippo's father died...he was murdered by the Thunder brothers...what she could mean by his father?"

About ready to yell, she is halted as Inuyasha bursts out laughing. Running up ahead, as Shippo looks a little proud of himself, as does Kilala and Kaede, Kagome notices the two missing members.

"Where are Miroku and Sango?"

Inuyasha bursts out laughing as the two girls look confused, Kaede and Shippo both start to explain and as they do so, Kagome joins Inuyasha in laughter as Yuka still looks baffled.

"What's going on?"

Noticing the young demoness, Kaede turns to her with a gentle and grandmotherly gaze that brings Yuka comfort.

"Who might you be child?"

"My name is Yuka...Could you....help me?"

"Oh with what...?"

Calming down, Inuyasha steps forward as does Kagome, and tells her the story concerning the others in the future, especially what Akira is going through. Kaede listens as they tell the tale and when they get done, she gives the young one a gentle hug.

"Child because of our ruse I regret Miroku can not explain the curse himself, but I can supply you with what you seek for your friend. Why don't you come inside my hut and you can tell me more about him as I work. Shippo come, my hands are not as nimble as they used to be and you can help."

Yuka nods her head gratefully. She is about to thank the other two, but she can't help but smile as the couple seems to be running off somewhere....laughing softly, she smiles as Inuyasha seems to have been waiting for her to finish with a huge smile.

"Come with me, we go to Kaede's"

"All right..."

Following the fox, Yuka goes deeper into the village.

In the meantime, Inuyasha with Kagome right by him pulls her to his side as they approach a hot spring.

"You know..." He whispers huskily as he stands in front of her and starts to strip much to her delight. "I never did get my back washed..."

"I know..." She responds with her voice soft and full of desire.

Watching as he slides off his haori along with everything else, he stands naked and proud before her like some great god....

She just stares and lakes her lips as she studies his body from head to toe....

"I'm waiting....." He replies low and with need as he watches her face flush with desire. Proud of his Angel, he turns around to step into the water of the hot spring and dives in momentarily. As he comes back he watches as she takes off first her top and then her jeans with a slow and maddening pace. About ready to finish it as he heads toward her, she shakes her head....

"No....you tortured me this morning with that performance, now it's my turn" She breathes as she turns around and slowly kicks off her shoes and socks. Now wearing only her bra and panties, she proceeds to step in to the water and he watches as she approaches him with a purpose....

"Is that all he whimpers with a small amount of protest..."

"Have you thought about what I asked you?"

"Yes....and I still don't see why?"

"Well pity then..." she replies coyly. "It will be all for now...but as you have said before," She smiles as she lifts up and brushes her lips against his. "There are other ways to pleasure one another...."

"Feeling evil?" Asks a wary Yuka as she approaches the lady with the typewriter....

"Yep..."

"Why?"

"Don't know just am..."

Yuka observes as author's brother walks in and noticing the look Simply has he promptly turns around and walks back out, but not without a last comment to Yuka.

"Run now..."

"Huh?"

"Just trust me...run now!"

Yuka looks terrified as a gleaming pair of horns starts to abrupt from the SaL's head and author cackles madly.

"Eeeep!" She takes off as author is possessed by the evil cliffhanger demon.

"Don't forget to read and review!"
