Giggles as she munches on some pears...so you guys liked my wittle surprise of bringing back Daddy...Yep things are going to be a bit harder when they take Naraku on face to face....especially since it will be their father's. Anyway Yuka and my brother would be here, but Aaron is out and Yuka is with Akira and the others....so its just little ole me...sniffs.....I wish Freddy didn't work third shift....

Not good...not good at all....as to who is in battle mode...gives you a cookie...and to let you know not all will be in it....

DarkLady 69...-Definitely a bastard...but it happened...Inutaisho has near equal power to the two and combined with Naraku's own? Not good....

Anyway folks I just got off work and am relaxed for a change...although confused about something but that's a whole other matter entirely....anyway here is a rundown....

We know now that Naraku is indeed alive and for a new body he took the body of the reincarnated Lord Inutaisho, Sesshomaru and Inuyasha's father. Akira is not pleased with Inuyasha and his training tactics, but understands that Naraku will not pull any punches. Instead to help he is going to learn from Kagome, what she learned from Miroku and Kaede, to aid them much like his ancestor Miroku did. Totosai is being contacted for a weapon possibly for Yuka... Jinto the one missing friend is on his way to eavesdrop on his parents and the news that is in the scroll....

Chapter 22

Sometimes Pain is a good thing....

Yuka winced as night approaches from the recent hit, Inuyasha gave her. The gang has been watching and other than the break that morning there had been one other, and that was only just because Inuyasha was getting hungry.

Now they were calling it quits for the day and she was extremely thankful.

"Kagome..." Yuka calls out softly and in agony as she tried to walk towards the young woman and the rest of her friends.

"I already have a bath set up for you..." Kagome replies warmly. "The fact that you are not used to fighting someone of Inuyasha's caliber means I know you are probably in a lot of pain."

Yuka says nothing and just smiles thankfully. Akira walks towards her and she shakes her head. "I have to do this on my own Akira...but I thank you."

Reluctantly stepping back, his eyes worried and concerned he does what she wishes for right now. Looking towards Inuyasha who seems none the worse for wear, he starts to berate him when Kagome stops him.

"Akira don't antagonize him...."

"Why not...did you see how much pain she is in?"

"Akira don't be a fool. If you tried to take on Inuyasha, he could out you in even worse shape and you know it. You remember how we were talking about when Inu cut off his brother's arm?"

"Yes..."

"Look at Inuyasha right now Akira...would you believe that Sesshomaru himself, had thrust his hand through his own brother's body in an attempt to steal the Tetsaiga..."

"No I wouldn't..."

"Akira...I was there, I was there when Sesshomaru attacked and forced Inuyasha to turn demon...do you know why that happens?"

Akira looks at Kagome with a look of do I care....

"Don't even give me that look Akira....Whenever Inuyasha's life is threatened to a certain point, his demon blood takes over. Unless he has the Tetsaiga with him...he will kill us all...."

Akira looks at the sword doubtfully. "Yeah right...."

"Don't believe me...talk to Sesshomaru...he will tell you himself....Half demons when the lose control, become killing machines...nothing can stop them. I remember when a giant moth demon attacked Inuyasha and injected him with his poison. He was surrounded by all these bandits who supported him and they laughed as Inuyasha was trapped in a cocoon with Miroku being the only one keeping him restrained by a barrier....to protect them from further harm."

Listening as he watches Inuyasha conversing with Tsukasa and the other girls and showing them some other moves, he turns as she continues to speak.

"So what's your point...?"

"The point is I and Sango were too late to aid them...." She says quietly and with sadness. "What happened that day was horrible....The barrier could no longer aid them....Inuyasha went demon....he succeeded in killing the moth.....and then...."

"Then what....?" Akira asked afraid, yet knowing the answer. "When he goes demon...Inuyasha loses all control Akira...he becomes a killing machine...he enjoys it....he turned on the bandits and started to kill them...even when they plead for mercy...he killed them.....I made him you know....kiss the dirt so to speak...but when he came to..."

Kagome places her hands on her arms sadly as she looks at her friend. "When he came to, he didn't remember Akira....he didn't remember doing it. You had to have seen his face that day...when everyone in the village we had saved turned their back on him....they were frightened....and he felt like such a monster...after seeing what he did to those men....it scared him."

"So what has that got to do with Yuka?"

"Naraku has the capability to do much worse Akira and he has...he doesn't care about where to fight or who gets his way...he is much like Inuyasha when he goes demon....except he knows what he is doing is wrong. He will throw everything at us....Naraku is for lack of any better way, is the other half of Inuyasha....the half that if you push the right buttons will have no problem killing you....think about it, before you try to fight him...."

With those words, Kagome leaves the young man lost in a whirlwind of thought....

In the meantime, Yuka is at the bathroom and slowly removing her clothes. A few moments later, not caring if her hair gets wet, Yuka is neck deep in the hot scented water and breathing in the air as it soothes her pained body.

"This really does hurt..." She mutters. "But it is for the better...other than father I have never seen anyone move that fast.....if what both father and Inu said is true than we will have our hands full this time."

Thinking other thoughts she is unaware of the door opening and someone entering until she feels a gentle touch upon her shoulder.

"Yuka..."

Jumping a little bit forcing the water to splash out, Yuka sees a smiling Kagome with some towels and some Aleve to give to her friend. Here something to dry off with and something to help with the pain.

"Thanks for the towels but no painkillers thank you..."

"Why?"

"Because pain is a good thing...?" Yuka replies with a practical smile. "It lets you know, that what is happening has a purpose in your life. A purpose that makes you stronger if you confront it head on..."

Kagome smiles warmly. She has heard that saying a few times...still leaving it there within reach, she looks to her friend.

"I would rather be comforted if you at least took one Yuka...then I won't feel so bad for not sit...."

Kagome slaps her hand over her mouth, when she hears a loud thud and the cursing that follows. Holding up her hand to hold on for a minute as she opens the bathroom window, she sees Inuyasha grumbling in displeasure as his face is stuck to the ground.

"Sorry Inuyasha...that was an accident..." She replies sheepishly.

"#%@&^%@$@%^"

Closing the window as he continues his barrage, Kagome turns and finds Yuka laughing. "So you have to be careful of what you say huh?"

"Like you wouldn't believe...but where was I?"

"You said you wouldn't feel so bad for not doing something..."

"Oh for not doing that...." She gestures towards the window and Yuka gives off a little o sound.

"Well if it will make you feel better...."

"IT would Yuka..."

"I will take one okay?"

"Thanks...." About to do say something else, Kagome pauses as she hears a knock on the door. Looking confused, she opens it to find Akira standing there.

"How is she?"

"She is fine Akira..." Yuka replied a little sarcastically. "I am right here you know."

"Can I see you?"

"AKIRA!" Both Kagome and Yuka yell in surprise and Akira steps back a moment as if in pain and confusion. Noticing this Kagome looks thoughtful and has him wait just outside the door.

"Yuka..."

"Yes Kagome...something is troubling him...I have a feeling that he needs you...much like Inuyasha needs me...."

"What do you mean?"

"Just be there and listen."

Somehow as she looks into Kagome's eyes, Yuka understands. Getting up and drying herself, with a little help from Kagome, Yuka puts on a borrowed robe and gladly takes the pill so that she will be able to talk and move a little better with ease.

Helping her towards Akira, Kagome lends a helping hand, until, gently but swiftly, he strides in and picks up the demoness.

"I got you..."

Grumbling a bit about overactive men, Yuka looks in his eyes and sees the pain and confusion there. Out of the corner of her eye she notices Kagome backing out and down the stairs. Probably on her way to soothe the ruffled fur of a certain hanyou...directing Akira to Kagome's room where they can talk, in peace. She is still being held as he sits down and she can't help but look at him with concern.

"What is it?"

"I...I...I don't want you to fight."

"Akira..."

"Yuka I mean it I don't want you to fight...if half of what Inuyasha and Kagome are saying is true....I could lose you...."

"Akira...you won't lose me..." She replies softly nuzzling his neck. "I want to fight...I want to fight for us, for you"

"But you could DIE!"

"Yes...and so could you Akira...and then where would I be...." She replies with a gentle gaze. "I would be lost without you Akira...your warmth, your smile. I fight because I want to help you."

Akira's heart pounds as her hand touches his cheek. Turning his face towards her, Yuka softly kisses him with a quiet searing love.

"I promise I will never leave you...." Yuka states, with conviction. "Or at least not without a fight..."

Akira grins at the comment and somehow he is reassured that everything will be all right.

Just outside the door a miko and her hanyou smile at one another and walk away...

Elsewhere....

Jinto watches as Shippo and Kanna approach his parents. Handing them a scroll, he watches as his father reads it and growls. Taking it out of her mate's hands, Ayame pales as she looks it over. "Shippo this has got be a joke right?"

The Kitsune shakes his head and as Jinto watches, he starts to grow a little scared. The reaction of his parents is not one he is used to seeing in times like this. It frightens him. Listening, he hears the words as they converse.

"This isn't good...that bastard is alive...how I thought..." Kouga exclaims.

"We all did...it seems he fooled us again. But instead of coming after us like we thought he would. He waited...and waited..." Kanna replied softly.

"Till he could have the prime opportunity to hit us where it hurts...." Shippo finished holding his mate close. Both of them are planning on staying with Sesshomaru until this matter is done. Because Kanna along with Kagura betrayed him, after Inuyasha and Sesshomaru, he will be coming for them and both demons want their beloved safe.

"DAMN IT!" Kouga howls as Ayame leans upon him. He shrugs her off a little and after giving her this apologetic look, he walks away. "I need to think..."

"I understand..." She whispers softly. "Tell them hi for me..."

"I will."

Jinto tracks his father and taking a position to eavesdrop, he is startled as Kouga's arm reaches out and yanks him.

"So cub...did you listen hard enough?"

Gulping for he knows his dad is in a mood, Jinto prepares to be berated, but instead he is surprised when his dad clutches him close.

"This time I will tell you Jinto and you can relay to the others except for Yuka and Inuyasha...."

"What Father?"

"We know who Naraku has taken as his host body and things will be difficult especially for Inuyasha and Yuka if they know"

"Know what..."

"Do you remember the stories I told you as a cub...the ones about Inutaisho...."

"Yes...they were my favorite stories. The great demon, who unified the western lands and took on Ryokotsei before he could destroy us all...and won!"

"He is Sesshomaru and Inuyasha's father...and he was reincarnated apparently...."

"That's great then isn't it father....." Jinto said as he looked at the older demon. Kouga sighs a bit and looks towards his son with a deep sadness.

"Normally I would say yes...but Naraku got to him first...."

"You mean...."

"Yes son....Naraku has inhabited the reincarnated form of the Great Demon Lord of the West..."

"Sink me...." Is all Jinto says and as he collapses to the floor, Kouga gives him a faint smile.

"Just remember Yuka and Inuyasha can not know...."

Jinto weakly nods his head and just sits there stunned; as his father leaves he sets about how he is going to relay the message....

In the meantime, Hojo watches the fighting between Yuka and the one guy from hiding place. The speed at which the guy is fighting and the sheer force from his hits, tells him that if he were to go face to face he would lose against this guy...

"And I have no intention of losing."

He continues to watch as punch after punch is thrown. Clenching his fist as they stop, he observes how this Inuyasha character lies down on HIS Kagome's lap.

"Kagome make him get...."

Hojo stills and wonders why he hasn't noticed before. At the dance he thought it was just a gimmick, a play on their costumes, but it hasn't changed. This guy has dog ears?

Wishing he had his camera to take a picture, just to make sure, he makes a note to himself to bring it next time. Instead he gets angrier as Kagome's hands reach for this guy's ears and starts rubbing them.

Growling himself in rage as his rival seems to savor Kagome's touch; he nearly makes himself known as the guy turns over and nuzzles her belly, causing the young woman to laugh with warmth.

"She is mine...."

He continues to watch as Yuka and Kagome both enter the house, moments later. His eyes on the young man, he observes how he talks with her other friends and is accepted despite his differences...in such a way that he realizes something.

"They knew...they have known about him all along!"

Outraged and feeling he has been betrayed by them, Hojo leaves. His eyes blazing with hatred, his revenge will be sweet....already he knows that next time he must have a camera....and with a few choice words here and there he will win and destroy all that stand between him and Kagome.

In hell....

A woman laughs a she watches this and smiles.....

"Good luck my descendant. Fulfill my curse...Teach Inuyasha and Kagome the folly for betraying me...."

Yes this chapter is short and I know but I wanted to delve further into Yuka and Akira as well as I bet some of you have wondered what is going on with Jinto and the Kouga of the future....Hojo is still spying watching for weaknesses...he won't miss again if he can help it....he now knows that they have allies and so to get to his intended target he has to remove the barriers....

Well anyway I am off to go eat for I am starving and so I might squeeze another chapter in later tonight if I have time....but until then see you all later! Don't forget to read and review
