The Sword of Final Unity

Inuyasha does not belong to me and are the creations of Rumiko Takahashi. Lillith doesn't belong to me; neither does Lucifer nor anyone else mentioned in this story.

The Sword of Final Unity

With Sesshoumaru, en route to Inuyasha.

Sesshoumaru stared at his swords. The woman he met in the last village said she cursed them.

Flashback

He was walking through a human village, one that Inuyasha just passed through. Rin wanted to stop here and play with people, human people. He was never one to say no to her for something so easy to give and did as she pleaded. Whilst she played, he sat under the shade of an ancient tree on a hillside overlooking the town square.

Then she came. She came and said she was Lillith.

"Good day young Lord. I've important matters to discuss with you, a proposition you'd be fool to refuse." She told him.

"I'm not interested."

"But if you only knew who I was, I'm sure you'd be. I am Lillith. The mother of humans, the mother of demons, the mother of you."

Sesshoumaru hated anyone who associated themselves to him, in any possible way unless it was true. 'And this woman… She lies. My mother is dead and she'll be too.' He thought.

"Wrong. You've wasted enough of my time now leave before I kill you."

"As you wish Lord. But your swords. Give them to me. If you don't they will not serve you in your next bout with Inuyasha."

There were no words spoken. He stared at her intently. Calculating what she knew and of what importance was she. 'None' he concluded and swiped at her. But she didn't die. Instead, it was a puppet, like the ones used by Naraku.

End Flashback

"Naraku. I will destroy you. Rin, stop gawking. Get on Ah-Un." The Lord of the Western Lands yelled at his child companion. Rin stopped staring at him and did as he told.

"Where are we going milord?" Jaken asked in his squeaky annoying voice.

"To Inuyasha."

That was it. Jaken started muttering things about 'useless half-breeds' and 'disgrace to demons'. But Rin sighed. Inside, she wished that her lord would stop seeking fights with his brother, they were brothers and it made her sad to see them hate each other. 'A waste of family.' She thought. But nevertheless, Lord Sesshoumaru had to be obeyed.

With Inuyasha, en route to Kaede's village.

"Kagome! We've collected all the shards now! Yay! Wait…does that mean you're going to go back to your time forever and stop coming back to visit me? Please say no, Inuyasha's gonna pick on me!" Shippo whined.

They had just gathered the shards from a very angry Kouga. Speaking of whom, was following them, bickering with Inuyasha.

"Dog-turd! You better defeat Naraku! Just remember, if you don't, I will. Don't worry Kagome, I'll be there for you, shards or no shards." Kouga said, making Kagome sweat-drop and shake her head.

"Excuse me?!?! You must have a brain the size of a flea! Kagome was the one who used her last arrow pinning you down and removing the shards herself! Don't tell me you forgot that!" Inuyasha yelled back.

"It was alright for her to do that! She knows what's best, and she didn't even hurt me while she was at it! In fact, it was rather enjoyable. Sure you're not just jealous for her being on top of me like that?"

"Oh God, you don't even talk to Miroku and you're beginning to sound like him. Listen, if you lay a hand on her, I'm going to kill you with Tetsusaiga!" Inuyasha beamed proudly.

"Oh, I'm not scared of that rusty piece of junk. Even that woman we just met said it wouldn't help you when you fought Sesshoumaru!"

"Grrr…."

Sango looked on at them. "Of all the demons Inuyasha can beat, why is Kouga still alive? He irritates Inuyasha much more than other demons, is competition for him, and yet Kouga lives on. I'm not getting it here."

Shippo was more than happy to answer. "Well you see, every time Inuyasha is about to kill Kouga, Kagome says-"

"SIT!"

"Yea, that." ^__________^

Miroku saw the bad side of this though. "Yes, but whenever she says that, they get into a fight, Kagome runs off to her time, Inuyasha sulks around for a few days, and then we all get a good laugh at watching him make a fool of himself getting her back!" Strike that, I meant...um…funny side.

Inuyasha, once he got off the ground, started it. "What was that for wench?"

Kagome sighed. "We have this fight every time Inuyasha. It's so old. When will you learn? BECAUSE YOU WERE ABOUT TO KILL SOMEONE YOU SHOULDN'T!"

Inuyasha opened his mouth. But his eyes weren't facing her. Instead they were watching the slow descent of Kikyo's soul stealers. "Watch yourself Kagome!"

Kagome was appalled. "Are you threatening me now? SIT INUYASHA!"

And BAM! Unfortunately, that didn't give Inuyasha moment enough to tell her what was about to happen. The soul stealers wrap themselves around Kagome's body, arms, and legs. "Inuyasha! Help!" Then they wrapped themselves around her mouth too and carried her off.

Kouga tried to help her, but he wasn't nearly as fast anymore and soon they were out of his sight.

"Moron! You just let Kagome get kidnapped!" Kouga yelled at Inuyasha who just got off the ground.

"People! Stop fighting! Kirara, transform and help us find her!" Sango shouted to the fire-cat.

At once Kirara obeyed, and rose into the air, but Kagome was already lost. Despaired, the group hurried to Kaede's village to seek advice.

Kaede's Hut

Inuyasha barged through. "Kaede! Your sister's soul stealers just kidnapped Kagome!"

Kaede was alarmed, but also upset. "The clay body that walks the earth is not Kikyo, Inuyasha. But what would you wish me to do?"

Inuyasha glared at her. "You old hag! Why don't you destroy the 'clay body' then? Purify it with your arrows or something! You've had so many chances and you ruin them all! Now Kagome is who knows where, Naraku already has more than half of the jewels completed because of her, and…" He stopped and sniffed the air. His eyes darkened and he stepped out.

With Inuyasha

They followed him out and saw the whirlwind entrance. Kirara hissed and snarled, about to join Inuyasha, but Sango held her back. She saw the damage the Lord of the Western Lands could do, and knew Kirara would be killed if she tried to attack Sesshoumaru.

The trees swayed from side to side, the leaves blew in all directions, various rocks were thrown at them, and finally, it subsided. Lord Sesshoumaru had made his entrance.

"Hand over Tetsusaiga now Inuyasha."

"That'll never happen you bastard! I'm going to kill you this time!" Blind with anger, like Sesshoumaru predicted, Inuyasha chargedat him, Tetsusaiga transformed and dangerous.

Sesshoumaru jumped back, drew out Toukijin, and headed for Inuyasha, the blade ready to strike.

Inuyasha just blocked with Tetsusaiga, and to everyone's surprise, Toukijin incinerated to ashes. 'Damn that woman! She did curse my sword. She'll pay."

As surprised as Inuyasha was, he saw his chance and attacked Sesshoumaru. But Sesshoumaru drew out Tenseiga just in time. As metal clanged against metal, Inuyasha was relentless and applied more and more pressure to the swords. He didn't see the cracks beginning to form, and neither did Sesshoumaru, both too busy holding their swords. Finally, they split in half, and Inuyasha backed off to a relatively safe distance, 10 yards away from his soon to be enraged older brother.

Sesshoumaru stood there, angrier than ever. 'The Tetsusaiga… Inuyasha just destroyed the Tetsusaiga, the Tenseiga, and Toukijin. Why fight him any longer though? The sword I want can no longer be used. But…He is half human. Might as well rid the world of another useless hybrid. Besides, Toutousai will surely be back soon to repair Tetsusaiga and hand it over to Inuyasha. I cannot let that happen.' "You've made the last and biggest mistake of your pathetic life Inuyasha. Prepare to die!"

"How? You don't have Toukijin anymore!"

"I, Sesshoumaru, unlike you, have other means of destroying one." Sesshoumaru readied his light whip and aimed at Inuyasha. Missed of course, but not unexpected. Easily following him to the air, Sesshoumaru was closing in on Inuyasha, about to poison him. But like all the other times he got so close to killing Inuyasha, Toutousai intervened. But Sesshoumaru would not be stopped this time. He shot poison through the fire anyway, causing balls of fire to leave the wall. They landed on the surrounding trees and homes, land and crops, starting the fire that would destroy that town.

The people immediately panicked, and ran outside screaming. Sango and Miroku and Kaede tried to calm them down. "Go to the river!" They shouted, and miraculously, the people did so.

Toutousai did not expect this to happen. But then again, he'd never seen Sesshoumaru this mad. He looked at Sesshoumaru and saw that he was about to leave.

"Wait! Sesshoumaru! Give me the pieces of your sword!"

"Why?"

"I need them! If you don't give them to me, Armageddon will come sooner than you realize!"

"Hmph. When did you listen to foolish humans preach about their religion? Armageddon will not concern me. If you've no further requests for me to reject, I'll be taking my leave."

"No! What can I do so you'll give it to me?"

Sesshoumaru was interested in this offer. What could be done? "Fashion me a sword according to my description."

"Done! Come back in 2 weeks and I'll be ready."

"This better not be a trap. If you're setting me up to go to Inuyasha without my sword, you will die." With those final words said, he left them in their plight to search for Rin, to make sure she wasn't hurt.

Inuyasha didn't know what to do. The village was burning down, Toutousai just made a deal with Sesshoumaru and wasnow collecting the bits of their broken swords made of their father's fang. Life was cruel.

Next time: Toutousai tells Inuyasha to fetch someone very important. Meanwhile, Kagome is being brought somewhere by Kikyo. Wait, this place looks familiar… The cave of the priestess Midoriko! What does Kikyo want to do with Kagome? Lillith sits in the shadows, waiting, waiting, waiting. Her plan is unfolding and going rather well. What does Toutousai plan to do with the broken swords? Find out next time!

By the way, Lillith is the supposed mother of demons and humans. Or at least that's my impression since it said that Adam raped her. I know that doesn't necessarily mean she got pregnant, but for the sake of my story, let's say she did. If you want a slightly more detailed account, see my bio page.
