The sky was dark, but the temple courtyard was lit up with thousands of tiny twinkling Christmas lights, giving it a magical feel. The moon was no where to seen and InuYasha stood at the back of the courtyard in a beautiful red and black hakama and haori set, waiting for the stupid show to start. He looked down at his hands, his claws gone. He fussed at his hair. It was black and silky and kept dropping to the front. It would not stay behind him like his white hair would.

It was driving him crazy.

The chairs arranged into neat rows were only half filled. Kagome's family had her side almost fully packed. People had come from all over Japan to be here. The ones he dreaded talking to the most were the ones he didn't know. Gee...like all of her father's family.

He had gotten questions earlier like “So, what do you do for a living?”, “Where did you go to school?”, “Haven't I seen you before?”

He had a hard time answering these, and after a couple of blundered attempts, he just hid behind Mrs. Higurashi or escaped to Sota's room. It was just too much.

And in this weak human form, he almost wanted to cry. He wasn't his usual angry, crass self. He was sappy and he hated it.

Sesshou stood not far from him, quiet and brooding. He hadn't said anything to him all day. He just muddled about looking just as shitty as he did in the past. Except now he was wearing a modern suit and his hair was really short.

And he had two hands.

InuYasha thought that sucked. Maybe he would have to cut one of them off again.

But not when he was like this. Hell, right now he could barely lift a folding table. There was no way he could lift his sword. Again he fell into a quiet state. Where they hell was she?

“What time is it Sesshoumaru?” he asked his brother nervously. “Aren't we going to start this thing soon?”

Sesshou just looked to a slivery metal thing on his wrist and nodded. “We've got about a half hour.”

“How long is that?”

The older inu realized that he was having difficulty understanding the modern concepts of minutes and hours. Clocks were not a common item four hundred years ago and InuYasha had no idea what a “half an hour” was. “Long enough for you to eat a meal.”

The young man just turned and started pacing in little circles.

He heard a small commotion and looked to the courtyard entrance where a bunch of people were entering. They were all pretty, uncommonly pretty, and he figured they must be youkai. He couldn't tell for sure because his human since of smell was gone. His suspicious were confirmed when Sesshoumaru quickly skipped over to them, a set look on his face.

My my how his brother had changed. He actually had facial expressions now.

He watched Sesshoumaru hug a tall boy with ginger hair and then a dark hair boy that looked...just like him. What? That young man had golden eyes just like his and long dark hair. The third figure he recognized immediately, it was Kirara, wearing a flower and leaf in her long blond hair. Those curves couldn't be mistaken anywhere. She wore a flimsy little dress, cut low to expose the cleavage of her mounding tits. The hemline was...whoa...way up there. Full ass met full thighs and her legs tapered down to tiny little feet in shoes with a really high heel.

The fourth figure was Hezumeha and InuYasha found it strange that Sesshou and the horse were shaking hands and giving each other a very friendly hug. What the fuck happened there? They hated each other.

Kuza and the girls were behind him, all looking quite ravishing in matching green dresses, but they weren't the demure little brides anymore. Kuza was holding hands with Hin, Hiza and Hina had their arms locked too. When Sesshoumaru got done hugging the stallion, the girls all piled around him for hugs as well. Shit. When did everyone get so friendly? His eyes popped out when Kuza squeezed Sesshoumaru's ass.

They were...really really friendly. Gahhh.

Then they were all huddled in conversation, whispered talking amongst themselves and InuYasha would have given anything for his hanyou hearing. He wanted to be a fly on their wall. Sesshoumaru led the group to their seats and walked back up to him. “What was that shit all about?” he asked him.

“Times change brother.”

“Yeah. I hope things changed for us too.”

Sesshoumaru steeled his face. “Trust me. They did.”

InuYasha had no idea what that meant. Had they changed for the better or for the worse? He looked back to his brother for any sign, any clue, but got none. The one thing he did get was his brother's total change of demeanor when SHE walked in.

Akanesuji strolled in wearing a bright red strapless dress, cut to her curves and clingy. Her hair was long and dyed black, her eyes pink and bright. A matching silk scarf was tied around her neck, the bottom hems dripping with jewels. Her feet were in high heels and she looked so different from the woman back home. All of her stripes were gone, but he knew that was her.

And on her arm was Koga, his hair down and flowing, his eyes just as bright and blue as always. He had on a nice cream colored suit, bold blue shirt and tie. The three figures locked eyes and there was a tense moment.

It was when Akanesuji turned back to the gate and held out her hand to someone else that the tension got even worse.

A woman in a matching red walked in, her hair long and black, her eyes hidden behind dark glasses. Her dress and scarf was like the demoness', but she had a matching long sleeve jacket on. Behind her was Akanesuji's sister, dressed also much the same. He couldn't tell if it was the younger one or the older one of the two other sisters. Thier nose and cheek shapes was almost identical. The third woman curled her arm around Koga's other and they all sat in a row together.

“What ever you do,” Sesshoumaru said to InuYasha, “Do not speak to any of them.”

“Why?”

“Because I am asking you not to. There is much about the future you do not need to know. It would ruin everything.”

InuYasha shrugged and watched the interplay of all the demons. It didn't take him long to figure out that the ginger headed boy was a grown up Shippo. Kirara had said his name before they kissed. The boy who looked like him was Manatsu. That made since. He and Shippo kept elbowing each other and acting like kids. It was when Hizumeha said “boys, cut that shit out,” that he gave the group a confused eye. It was even more confusing when Manatsu and Shippo called him “dad”.

“What's that all about?” InuYasha asked Sesshoumaru.

“Excuse me a minute.” The older inu walked away and slapped Manatsu and Shippo over the head.

“Dammit Father, why did you do that?” Manatsu cried. Shippo just elbowed him and pointed over to InuYasha and they both quieted down. Akanesuji leaned over from the back row and whispered something into Hizumeha's ear and the horse blushed. Kirara turned around in her chair and sat in it on her knees, leaning over to her and whispered something back, her big breasts trying to fall out of her dress in front of the mysterious woman in the black shades.

When the red jacketed woman went to grab Kirara's nipple, Akanesuji slapped her hand and growled. The woman gave a funny growl back. Koga slapped her upside the head and then Akanesuji's sister slapped him.

It was a fucking Punch and Judy show. Kagome's family stared with their mouths open to the strange crowd of people all slapping each other upside the head.

They all quieted and put their hands into their laps, trying to look more normal. Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes and came back to stand by his brother once more. InuYasha didn't ask this time. He just exhaustively sighed.

Akanesuji leaned over and started dicking with Koga, whispering things in his ear that made the wolf blush. She slipped her hand up his knee and InuYasha figured out in a hurry who was the dominant one in that relationship. He'd predicted right. Sesshoumaru started growling low in this throat, a barely audible sound to humans, but one that all the demons caught. InuYasha caught it too, but only because he was so close to him.

Koga looked over to Sesshoumaru and shrugged an apology. His face read “What the hell am I supposed to do with her?”. Akanesuji looked over to him too and licked Koga's face in front of him on purpose.

It was then Sesshoumaru laced his fingers tighter and cracked his knuckles suggestively, getting ready for the fight. Laughingly she turned from Koga to the woman next to her, running her hand up her skirt and whispering into her ear.

InuYasha watched his brother's hands separate and make such hard fists that they again cracked with life. His eyes were turning red on the edges. “I will kill....her,” he whispered, knowing she would hear.

“She's stronger than you.”

The woman in the dress grinned.

“Who is stronger than you?” InuYasha asked his brother, curious. The daiyoukai turned and snarled at him next.

“Shut up Yasha.”

The woman in red licked her lips at him. Not at Sesshoumaru, but at him.

Akanesuji squeezed something right...or wrong...because the woman shut her mouth and froze up. Sesshoumaru just growled again.

InuYasha was so incredibly relieved when the music started and Kagome entered the scene. Everyone shut up and looked to her. She was a princess in white.
