Thank you SOOOOOO much everyone for you're patience on completing this fic ^^ I must apologize about the extremely long absence… I was going to work more on this fic, when high school began; I'm in 10th grade now!! (^ so now, here we have it, the continuation of a long forgotten story, which I think deserves to be worked on. Besides, it's the one that started them all, (meaning it was my very first fanfic, after it came several others) so that alone makes it special.

Chapter 6- The failed confession

 

 

“Yafa I lo---“

 

Explosions erupted in the distance, but way close enough for Inuyasha's sensitive and powerful ears to locate. “What's wrong Inuyasha? What did u wanna say?” his golden amber orbs looked down into Yafa's hazel green misty but crystal clear ones.”Ohh never mind, forget about it, we've gotta get Kagome and the others and head out towards the explosion”

 

Walking passed her; Yafa could've sworn he gave off the most disappointed expression on his face. She turned around quickly, but was only met with his back to her. Oh how much she longed and yearned for those words he was just about to spill. She sighed and followed close behind him. “Who am I trying to kid, I've only known Inuyasha for a couple days; NO ONE can possibly say I love you in such a short time!! I must be out of my mind even thinking he'd say it to me today… besides, Kagome is in his life, I can tell. His eyes said it all. I'm not that blind to notice that. And regardless, I have absolutely no connection with the Feudal era whatsoever!! I must get back home somehow, and leave well enough alone. But how? That's something I have to figure out, but for right now I need to help the group however I can.”

 

Inuyasha sensed her uneasiness. But he couldn't comfort her; he had to be strong and fearless in order to protect everyone. Inside though, he was burning with guilt. Guilt of not saying the 3 most complicated words, guilt of loving her in the first place, when Kagome loved him and never asked for anything in return, and most of all, for swearing it over and over that he'd never ever let anyone else into his heart. But…. It happened again. For the third time. His heart was broken in two ways. As much as he hated admitting it, it was all true. He was deeply in love. He couldn't understand how and why, there was just something about her. What? He had no idea, but now the best thing to do was to forget about it, and just let her tag along with them all. And maybe, if they got lucky, in time she would find her special powers and abilities, and perhaps uncover the mystery.

 

“YAFA! INUYASHA! Where the hell have you been?!?” Without any hesitation at all, Yafa immediately came up with a believable while lie. “We were just talking, having a private heart to heart conversation, ok? Is there something wrong with that?!” Kagome nodded her head. `Well no, of course there's nothing wrong with that. I understand. Well cmon guys lets go. That bam sounded very big and serious, I really hope no one innocent was hurt.” They all agreed and off they went. Yafa trailed along in the back, she felt very shy and unsure of herself. She blew a sigh of relief, that they all took it very well and seemed to believe her.

 

Time went by, and here and there, while Kagome and Sango and Miroku were talking, Inuyasha glanced back at Yafa. He felt so bad for her, seeing her so wary of them all. “Hey Yafa, what's the matter?” “Oh err nothing just daydreaming hehe” Inuyasha knew she was lying; her tone of voice said it all. “cmon Yafa just tell me the truth” “im.. *sigh* im so sorry I dropped into you're life like this, if I had the control I would've never come in the first place.”

 

“Yafa just shut up already, we all want you here with us, regardless of what you think or feel. And I know, without a doubt, Kagome considers you her friend, so there's nothing to be afraid of, honestly”

 

Yafa looked into his eyes the whole time, and what she saw gave her the surprise of her life. Of course she's read a dozen books about why guys have such a hard time saying what they feel. It's because they're eyes say it all. The eyes are the direct door to the depths of the soul, and that's especially true when it comes to guys. But what was it exactly that she saw in his eyes? Could it be love, concern or just simple understanding?

It was unclear; his eyes seemed to hold a mixture of feelings.

 

“Ok, I will try not to be afraid anymore. As long as im with all of you, there isn't anything we cant overcome!” whoops, she shouted that out load, so the whole group heard. Sango and Kagome smiled, and gave Yafa a high five. “Yes we will vanquish the evil, triumph and be victorious!” Inuyasha, Miroku and even Shippoh looked at the three girls, and nodded in agreement.

 

The explosion that they all heard before was nothing serious; it was just another feudal battle in the mighty ancient Japan. No one was hurt to bad, so Inuyasha gave the order, and they walked on. Kagome felt it was wrong to just leave and not try to help the attacked villagers, but Inuyasha was firm, the Sacred Jewel is almost complete. Only a few shards remained to be found. Yet the hardest part of this mission, the last mission to destroy Naraku forever, is that Naraku has most of the Jewel.
