I woke up the next day about two hours before dawn. I looked around to make sure that no one was there or hiding in the forested area around me. When I was sure I got up and found a tree with some friut on it and I ate some until I was full, then I gathered my things and set out for the village now that It was a suitable time to enter. No one really cared if there were any new comers in the village, so they just went on there way doing there regular morning duties.
I knew I had to go talk to some people to see if the new who had attacked my fathers village and palace.I found an old man about the age of 60 walking around on a cane. I came up to him and prodded his shoulder.
"Um excuse me sir I have a few questions I would like to ask you." He turned towards me and smiled and I bowed. He repied to me kindly,
"What kind of question to you need me to answer?" I looked up towards the mountians and then pointed towards my home saying,
"Do you know of whom sent the attack on Lord Inutaisho's village?" He looked up quickly and eyed me a bit warily saying in a hushed voice,
"Why would you like to know." I know knew he knew something so I had to think up something fast. I put on my best sad smile and put tears down my eyes mumbling,
"Well-well one of my bestist friends lived up there and I just fu-found him floating do-down stream with a sword through his chest." I sniffled then started to fake cry and the man instantly forgot his doubts and patted me on the back whispering,
"Woo there boy it's o.k it was lord Naraku who set the army on Inutaisho's palace." I looked up at him and smiled whispering an,
"Arigouto." Then I walked out of the village with one last thought on my mind,'Naraku is going to pay!!!"
Later that day I had made it all the way up the mountian and was about to the village when I heard some people speaking on the other side of the tree I was on and I decided to eavsdrop.
"Man we've finally killed them all. It took so long for that Sesshoumaru boy to go down and his father we just got lucky." I heard the other men mumble an aggrement and then heard another voice say,
"Yeah your right but I think I saw the elder son through a little kid into the water." That got them all into a little uproar,
"You fool you didn't tell us sooner! That was most likely Inutaisho's other son, Inuyasha." It seemed like all the men were extremely pist off that someone might have got away. Then the other man spoke up trying to relieve there fears,
"He threw him into the rapids up there do you think anyone could have survived that after being at battle for two hours straight?" All the other guys seemed to come down and mumbled words of aggrement and then the said something I was hoping the would say,
"The one thing I still cant believe is that Lord Naraku would just station us here like this and take the rest of the army and leave." All the others in the party started ranting about it and I knew I just had to wait a little bit longer until they fallasleep so I can kill them. Soon after one of the men took watch and I killed him quickly by slitting his throat. Then I came out of behind the tree and stabbed the closest man through the head and then the second to last one throught the heart. He made a slight grunting noise and the last guy woke up to the sound. He grabbed his sword and backed up mumbling,
"Who-who the hell are you?" I smiled an evil smile and charged, He countered to the left but I blocked and kicked his sword out of his hands and then him to the ground. I raised my sword up and whispered,
"Inuyasha, your worst nightmare." I brought the sword down and ended his life quickly and then sheathed my sword and buried them. I kept going up to the gates of my home.
It was still on fire as to what I could see except for a few homes and the palace. I walked through and found that Lord Naraku atleast had some honor. He buried the dead and put up stones as markers. When I got to the place where my father was killed I saw a sight I'd never forget. My fathers body was buried but his head was up on a spick. I dropped to my knees and threw up all over the ground. I recouperated after a while and then I went back up to the castle and to my room.
To my suprise my room had not been touched or my brothers room. Only my fathers room had been raided. So I went up into my room and found my armor stilll on it's hanger. I decided to put it on and then I went into my brothers room. I remembered something he said he was going to give me for my present. I walked over and knelt down to look under his wardrobe. I found a long and thin white satin box that he had showed me a few days ago that would be my ceremonial present from him for when I became a true part to the samurai clan. I opened the box and found an amazing sword inside the bow with a sheathe that matched my outfit. I tied my old sword behind my back and my new sword at my waist. I went to the kitchen to see that they had been raided to but there were still some food packages left. so I stuffed a few inside my beg where I kept my stuff and walked out of the place I call home and into the burning streets of are once prospering town. I looked around through all the stalls that we had and only found a few horses. Most of them were dead or gravely wounded.
"neigggghhhh !" I looked over to the very last stall and found a pony hiding under some hay. It was an old pony but still classified as a pony. The lucky thing was I was young so we would go perfect together. I walked up to it and made a tutting sound. After a few minutes it came out of hiding and walked up to my hand. I petted it's mane and then whispered in it's ear,
"I think I'll call you Halifax." He neighed softly and I took out some fruit from my food supplies and gave it to him. I then opened up his stall and walked in to it. He had a saddle on the left and some oats for foood on the right. I took the oats and packed them. I then put on his saddle and tied my belongings on to him. There wasn't that much so it really didn't affect Halifax at all. I then mounted him and we set off down the western passage to a large village known as Mantharp.
