InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The True Sense of Inner Peace ❯ The True Sense of Inner Peace ( One-Shot )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Disclaimer: Sadly… and as much as I try to deny it… I don't own Inu Yasha… or any one else from the series… **sigh**… the truth always hurts.
Warnings: I think I'm keeping this story fairly clean. I noticed no one did something like this - and my mom was listening to it one morning while I was getting ready for school - so the idea kinda stuck. Mind you, I have never done yoga in my life… so if I get a few things wrong - whoops.

This one is slightly revised... hopefully - better then the first time I posted it.... ^_^::

The True Sense of Inner Peace

"Yoga is a form of deep meditation that soothes both the body and the soul. It brings you a sense of inner peace and makes you feel incredibly agile and flexible. Yoga means the union of body and mind where body is the individual soul and mind is the Universal spirit. It originated in the Hindu culture sometime in ancient India. Four universal and essential qualities of beauty are good health, proposition, grace and harmony. All this can be achieved by doing yoga regularly." Kagome took a deep breath after she recited what she had read in one of her books. She glared at Inu Yasha who still had his face in the dirt.

It never once occurred to Kagome that in Feudal Japan, yoga was not well known. She had rarely practice it because she was usually not stressed enough to need to take a break from reality. But after a particular incident with a certain hanyou, she really felt the need to take out the CD, meditate and then take a long hot soak in the closest hot spring. So, with the another "sit" command and her bag on her back, she set off in the direction in which Inu Yasha had ever so kindly pointed out a hot spring.

As Kagome neared her destination, she shifted the bag so she could begin to gather her supplies. A towel, a portable CD player, a few meditation CD's, water, and a change of clothes. She entered the clearing where the spring was and took a few moments to look around. It was a fairly agreeable size area. There was plenty of grass to sit on, and the water looked perfect. She set up the towel and carefully placed the small CD player near by so that it would be within reaching distance. She then took one more cautious look around - because she lived with Miroku, she knew better - and waited until all was quite until she changed into her "mediation outfit." It consisted of a pair of spandex shorts and a tank top. Not something she would ever want any creature to know she owned. It made her feel like an 80's girl that lived in America. She picked up her hair into a simple bun to assure that it would stay out of her face and sat cross-legged on the towel.

She shut her eyes, took in a deep breath and felt the world around her come alive. She was always a sucker for meditation. It made her feel more aware of anything that just so happened to pass her way. It was almost like she became the wind - and could feel anything. So in short, she like to meditate. It took a few moments to completely relax her body. She still felt so damn tense from Inu Yasha that she was sure she would pop a vein or something. Her thoughts began to stray to the white-haired boy before she could stop them and she felt herself smile. Then, almost as quickly as it started, she snapped out it and forced herself to concentrate on the smell of the nature around her.

"Okay, so clearing my mind is just a tad bit harder then it is to relax myself." Even more so when it was filled with white fuzzy dog ears and golden eyes… " Dammit! Okay… clear… clear… Okay. This is good," she coached herself until her thoughts eased, then pressed play on the CD player.

Soft music began to play as the mellow sound of a woman's voice severed the silence of the forest. The CD was in English. Her mother had found out about her interest in yoga and decided to buy the CD in English so she could adjust to the sound of English without an accent. She took another breath as she felt all thought leave her body and slowly began to move, her movements remained instep with her breath. The woman's voice was very soft and deep as she began to direct Kagome into the first pose. 'Oh crap…' The first position the woman started to instruct? The one on all fours! She felt her eye start to twitch.

"Is this some kind of cosmic joke…?"
_____

"Stupid girl. There she goes, running off again."

"Inu Yasha - aren't you going to follow her?"

"Keh." The monk actually thought that Inu Yasha would waste his time? She probably just went to that spring he had been forced to point out earlier. He left the group soon after she disappeared but headed in the opposite direction. Of course - this is the what he always did. He just couldn't trust her alone in the forest. As soon as he felt like he was far enough from the group he made a turn to go the long way to the spring, that way he could avoid them all together. As he got closer to his destination, he heard music and some woman talking in a foreign language. 'That's not Kagome…'

Inu Yasha picked up speed, his thoughts centered on the fact that she could be in danger - only to stop dead in his tracks on a branch fairly far from where she sat.

"Why is she on all fours?" His voice was soft and easily drowned out in the woman's voice. He notice that the "woman" was really speaking from that cee-dee-pla-yer that Kagome brought from her time. She said something like "…it plays specially made disks that have music and voices on them…" but lost his interest after she started getting technical… she had mentioned something about com-puu-ters …

Inu Yasha dragged his thoughts from his memory and considered the situation at hand. 'So I'm about… let's say - a good distance from Kagome where she wont see me, but I can see her, and I'm confused as hell.' She was on a tah-whol and on all fours. It looked like she was… stretching? Her eyes were closed and she seemed to have an almost blissful expression. 'Strange… what the hell is she doing?'

She held that position for a few moments, and then when the voice started to say something again, she slowly changed. 'Wow… I never knew she was the flexible.' His eyes grew wide as her positions grew more intricate and he began to think with his other head. He shift his position on the branch to get a closer look. Though he could see her perfectly from where he was - her smell and movements had begun to make him feel a bit… uncomfortable. He took off the top part of his haori and laid it on the branch carefully - his eyes remained in constant contact with Kagome's physique.

He inch closer still, watching the way her muscles - all those months in Feudal Japan have been helping her build strength - flex with her movements. As he finally got the guts to jump to a closer branch, his sensitive hearing picked up something that completely threw off his balance.

"Hentai!" and then a slap.

He had been so wrapped up in Kagome's exercise that he forgot about Miroku and Sango, who he had left behind at the camp site. So, because he was so distracted, their interaction had stunned him and caused him to fall of the branch - and into a bush - which made a lot of noise. 'Oh shit…'
____

Kagome had really started to get a feel for the motions, her body's movements almost seemed to mimic that of water. She had moved close to the fifteenth position and was about to change again when she heard something crash into some bushes near by. She snap out of her meditation state immediately and stared wide-eyed in the direction of the green mass. She silently waited for something to happen, her CD still playing soothing sounds as the woman finished her explanation of the next position.

After what seemed like forever, nothing happened. She reach into her bag and grabbed a small can of pepper spray and quietly made her way to the greenery. It didn't take her long to figure out just who had made the noise as she spotted a familiar red top that swayed in the light breeze on a branch above the bushes. She felt her eye begin to twitch again as she glared up at the innocent top, almost as if it would make its owner materialize in front of her. After a while, she figured Inu Yasha was smarter then he let on, so she did the one thing that would make him reveal where he had hide himself.

"SIT!"

<<THUMP!!>>

"BITCH!!" It all happened in a few seconds - but she found her dog hanyou, face first into the ground, and full of colorful curses. Her glare, which would usually send Souta far real fast, was frozen in place on Inu Yasha's still form as they both waited for the spell to fade. Her foot began to tap impatiently as he finally stood up and began to dust of the tree branches and leaves that made a temporary home on his person. When he was done he glared up at her and opened his mouth in preparation to yell - only to have her beat him to it.

"Inu Yasha, what are you doing here?! Were you watching me?!?!"

"Keh. Don't flatter yourself! I wouldn't waste my time." He crossed his hands over his chest in an attempt to look tough.

"You liar! Doesn't privacy mean anything to you people?!" She couldn't stand to look at him at that moment. It always felt like one fight after another. She turned on her heal and stormed back to her things, then grumbled, "now if you don't mind - I'd like to finish my bath."

"Fine by me. Don't drown." With that, he jumped back onto a branch and he disappeared into the forest. She continued to mumble under her breath even though it had lost its intensity. As cute as the boy was, who could stay mad at him long? 'Minus Kikyo… but that girl has issues…'

She took another look around and noticed that Inu Yasha had picked up the top half of his haori. When she finally felt alone, she turned off the CD player, stripped herself of her 80's fashion, and dipped into the water. The yoga did her good. It had relaxed her enough so she could completely enjoy the feel of the warm water as it surrounded her body. In this new found time to contemplate, she realized something. Her dear hanyou had been blushing when she found him… and seemed as if he was trying to hide something from her… She suppose the blushing could be explained by embarrassment at being caught…. But it seemed as if he was trying to cover his…

"Oh… my…"

She felt her face heat up as she realize something else she didn't think of. She always knew that yoga could seem a bit… erotic to some people. She shifted deeper into the warm water in an attempt to cover her face even as a giggle made its way from her throat. But it had never occurred to her what would happen if Inu Yasha, being that he probably had never seen something like it before, were to see her in the middle of her meditation. Well - at least it wasn't Miroku.
