On the Twelfth (and final) Day of Christmas…
 
“Oh my god.” Inuyasha said, after the pair of lips at left his. “But…how? I was watching everyone. How could you have done this.” He looked down at the muzzle of Kirara. He strained to hear her response, wishing he could speak more Neko to be able to hear her. The basics of it were this.
 
“You were so out of it, My InuYasha. I had plenty of time to get the gifts. Lady Sango had extra money, so I used it when she wasn't looking. She didn't notice, and the villagers didn't ask why a Neko would want to buy anything from them.” Inuyasha looked down at her, embracing her fur coat. Tears streamed fmo his face as he held her, his scarf, crystal, beads, folded up blanket, sword cleaning materials, and bells all fell out, being strewn around them.
 
“Thank you, Kirara. For making me feel better.” She purred lightly, easing his troubled heart. He might not love her, but he cared for her, and thanked her. And that was a start. And maybe he will love her and time. And forget about her.
