Lift Off

 

“Help me - Please- Help me…..”Her cries were like daggers to his heart.

 

`I'm so close but…'

 

“Help me-“

 

“Damn it! Tell me how! Where are you? Let me help you!”

 

“Can anyone hear me,,,? Help me…” her voice sound kind of faint she was fading away.

 

“Just tell me where you are!”

 

“Emerald Isle”

He jerked awake. Body covered in a cold sweat and breathing hard. He ran his hands through his hair.

 

Beep!

 

His bedroom door slid open to reveal a young boy around the age of eight.

 

“Inuyasha are you all right?” The boy's face was pale with worry.

 

“I'm fine Shippo. Just a bad dream. Go back to bed.” Inuyasha looked back up from is bed to see Shippo still standing in his doorway.

 

“Are you sure you're-”

 

“I'm fine Shippo. I promise, now go back to sleep runt. We don't always get time to relax like this. So sleep while you can. What am I going to do if my Systems Coordinator can't do his job because he's taking a nap?”

 

“Yes Captain.” Inuyasha sighed as Shippo closed the door.

 

He fell back on his bed. “Damn, I've been having that dream too often lately. If this keeps up I'll never get a decent nights sleep.” He sighed as he got out of bed. `I need a cold shower.'

 

He exited his small 2 by 2 shower still pondering about his dream. While moving around and getting dressed he repeatedly re-played the dream in his mind.

 

Fully dressed he moved towards the door grabbing his Captains jacket on the way out. He slipped on the red jacket as he walked out his room not really paying attention to where he was going.

 

After five minutes of walking around aimlessly he stopped at a corner and sighed. `Maybe I've been over doing it lately.'

 

He was so deep in thought he did hear the person walking down the hall until they turned the corner and collided with him.

 

“Hey watch where you're…” He trailed off when he noticed it was his mechanic than he'd run into. “Sorry Miroku.”

 

“No problem Captain.” Miroku replied happily.

 

Inuyasha groaned. He'd known Miroku since his academy years. And around six months ago he'd asked him to join his crew. Miroku was a good person and all but he had a problem with keeping his hands to himself when it came to women. His ability to fight was the only reason he'd asked him to join. Plus he's a good help when it comes to maintenance on the ship.

 

“Miroku why are you up so late?”

 

Well Inuyasha ever since you decided to take up the pirating thing we've been having so rude wake up calls. I was simply thinking of a place to hide when were not fighting.

 

“Yea that sounds like a good idea. Inform me if you ever come up with anything.”

 

“As you wish. So Captain, what's with the late night stroll?”

 

I just had weird dream.

 

“And that was enough to get you up and walking around in the middle of the night. Must have been some dream. I mean the only dream that get me up in the middle of the night are usually very fu-” Miroku fell to the ground unconscious.

 

“Stupid letcher.” He walked away leaving Miroku with a large lump on his head.

 

Inuyasha walked onto the flight deck and flopped down in his Captains chair. He gazed out at the endless sea of stars.

 

(Flash)

 

“Help me!”

 

(End of flash)

 

He shook his head vigorously trying to clear his mind.

 

(Flash)

 

“Emerald Isle.”

 

(End of flash)

 

He stopped his shaking suddenly noticing something. This was the first time he'd ever been told a location.

 

“Sigh.” This is so stupid. It's a dream, only a dream.”

 

`Yea you keep telling yourself that.'

 

“It is.”

 

`Whatever you say.'

“Shut up it is only a dream!”

 

 

`Right and you're not talking to yourself.'

 

“Damn it! I'm not talking to my…” Inuyasha froze. “Oh my God I am! Ah! I'll show you!”

 

“Computer?”

 

“Yes? My lovely Captain.”

 

Inuyasha shivered the computer had changed it's sex again. It was really weird. One month it'd be a male's voice, the next a woman's. It was the woman's voice that always gave him chills. Just like it was doing now. Shippo couldn't explain it and it was starting to dive both of them crazy. Shippo was made because he did get it and Inuyasha was just crept out.

 

“Give me a course to Emerald Isle.”

 

“……No such place exist my love.”

 

“HA! I knew it.”

 

“Yea you tried `soooo hard.'”

 

“Damn you!”

 

“I am you. Remember?”

 

Inuyasha groaned. `I'm losing it.'

 

“Computer bring me up all information, no matter how outdated, that relates to Space and the word Emerald.”

 

“… 27 matches found my love.

 

Bring them up on the monitor. There they were all twenty-seven matches. He read through each one.

 

` Mall, strip joint, bar, bar, strip joint, restaurant, clothing store, bar…The Isle of Port Emerald. Bingo!'

 

Computer open up the file on The Isle of Port Emerald.

 

“ `The Isle of Port Emerald' was once known as the most dastardly port in the northern space quadrant. Well know pirates used this port as a safe haven and had full control over it. Slowly the port gained too much power. The port and its pirates became a larger threat that originally foreseen. The leaders on earth as well as alien leaders decided that the port was unfit. The Isle of Port Emerald was destroyed on September 14th, 3022 at 7:15A.M. The Red Guards Fleet carried out the mission. The mission was declared a success even after nearly half the Feet was destroyed. Classified **/hacking…The Red Guards Captain was executed when information was leaked to his superior the most of the pirates in the attack had escaped. The poison gas that was released onto the Asteroid hosting the port was declared non re-habitable. The area now lay in ruins and is covered in the experimental gas fired but the Red Guards fleet.”

 

“Other information has been deleted Love.”

 

“As I thought just a dream.” He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes.

 

(Flash)

 

“Help me! Please!”

 

(End of flash)

 

He jerked straight. “Damn it. I can't keep doing this. Computer set a course for `The Isle of Port Emerald'.

 

“My love the area is considered quite dangerous. I would advise th-”

 

“I don't care. Just do it.”

 

“As you wish my love.”

 

“I must be losing it.”

 

`I thought we already clarified that.'

 

He gave a defeated laugh. “Talking to myself and chasing after actual dreams what kind of captain am I?”

 

He felt the ship changing its course.

 

`At least all the repairs have been completed and were fully stocked. That one thing I don't have to worry about.'

 

“Well here goes nothing.” He whispered as he fell asleep.

So Ladies and Gents. What do you think?? It's good right? This isn't my main priority right now I'm writing “The Hybrid Angel” another I/Kag fiction. But this one's fun too so I'll see if I can keep up with both. Maybe I'll take turns. Well this one is going to have more pairing. Tell me what you think.
