She didn’t dare turn around to face the one she wished to never see again. Kagome felt his hot breath next to her ear and shuddered slightly.
“Remember, I know where you go, every day, who you are, and where you live. I know everything about you, Kagome Higurashi.” He breathed. Then he turned and-
Wait, wait, wait! Rewind!
That comes later in the story of my life. Let’s start in the beginning…before I became the victim.

“Bye, Higurashi! Are you sure that you don’t want me to walk you home?”
“No, Hojo, it’s okay.” The fifteen year old replied, waving good-bye.
The girl, Kagome, had a slight bounce in her step as she walked home from school that day. She had aced a test in her worst subject, math, had broken the record for the four-hundred meter dash, and her friends didn’t try to fix her up with a guy.
She smiled. I can’t wait to tell mom about this. Her mom and her had always been closer than most mothers and daughters. They told each other everything, even after her little brother, Sota, was born and her father died.
A slight wind blew past her, making her school uniform press against her. Kagome smoothed her green skirt while running up the stairs to her home, The Higurashi Shrine.
Kagome flew open the front door and wiped her shoes. “Hey, I’m home!” She called, walking into the living room. “Hello? Anyone her-oh my god.”
What she saw would haunt her for the rest of her life.
Blood.
Everywhere.
A middle aged woman, a young boy, and elderly man laid there, impaled with different types of knives, scissors, and every sharp object that was recognizable.
Their limbs were placed at odd angles, their eyes were rolled over to the back of their heads.
Kagome stepped back until she was against the wall. Her eyes were as wide as the moon as she started to tremble uncontrollably. She was frozen. She couldn’t talk, breathe normally.
She couldn’t even scream.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a piece of paper dangling from the ceiling, on a string. Kagome also took note that the door was still open, and that a strong wind was blowing into the house, making the paper flap and swirl in the air.
Shivering despite the warm temperature, Kagome slowly walked to the middle of the room, plucking the paper from the string. It seemed to be written in a red pen of some sort, but Kagome knew better than that when the “ink” started to drip off the white paper.
It was written in blood.
She looked down at her dead family, and let a few tears go. What was meant to be a few tears turned into a lot of tears. Kagome tore her gaze away from her family and back to the paper. She wasn’t even sure that she wanted to read it.
When Kagome looked up again, only then did she notice that there was blood splattering the walls, some forming threats.
I know you…
Kagome, Whatcha gonna do now?
You’re all alone…
Alone…
Kagome Higurashi, Whatcha gonna do now?
Kagome gulped. Gathering up her courage, she read the note in her hands at last.
I will be watching you. You cannot hide from me, Kagome.
